I used to be a fan of Best Buy Geek Squad; but I took my laptop to Best Buy West McAllen for repair; I took it on a Friday morning . I was told they would give me a call Saturday or Sunday that most likely it would be ready.i waited sat, Sun., Monday and did not hear from them. I tried calling and wanted to talk to a person an it gets impossible.i decided to go Tuesday to find out what was happening; and I was told they tried to call me and I never answer. (It's a lie) there was no calls registered on my iPhone. I show them and the lady ignored me..I asked them what happened and she just went to get my laptop and told me it was ready. Best Buy is still my favorite tech store. However, this new and updated review is based on a 3 day experience that I had with several Best Buy employees. Usually, my experience with Best Buy is superb, as I buy online and drive to pick up items the same day. However, I wanted to test out the Oculus Rift before I purchased the new reduced price bundle they were offering for the week. My first visit was in Thursday, while I was there to pick up an online order. I inquired about the Rift and was told to Coke back on Friday after noon. I went in Friday afternoon (around 2PM) and I was told I couldn't test the Oculus Rift because there was only one person that new how to set it up, so I was told to come Saturday. I asked at what time I should go there and they told me after ten AM. I asked if I could make an appointment and I was told no appointment needed. I show up Saturday around 11 AM and another person tells me that the Oculus Rift guy wasn't there until Sunday. Told the employee that I had been told to go in early and he took it personal. He said, "I didn't tell you to come here early." I told him, "As a company, you guys need to agree on what common knowledge is for the products you are trying to sell." Sunday, I was in the area and that's the only reason I dropped by. The Oculus Rift rep was there l, courteous and knowledgeable. He answered my questions and set me up with a Rift for myself. All employees should have the same information or get customers someone who knows what is being asked and not just throw random dates and times. read more

So the geek squad team did let me know the insurance on my macs expired last month, which made me feel a bit bummed. The geek squad employee was able to show me the price of the item I needed and was kind enough to walk me to the Apple area and left me in good hands with the Apple representative. Customer service was at its best. Even though I didn't purchase a very expensive item from them this time (only the keyboard and mouse) the service was well appreciated. I guess this is what happens when employees don't work off from commission. Aside from that, I had 3 other employees greet me as I walked to the registrars. Both completely ignored me and helped some other Mexican nationals who I guess Best Buy felt were more important. I purchased a 65" 4k TV, 5.1 surround sound bar, high end speakers and a high end turntable. I had an amazing experience at this store. I had a HORRIBLE experience at a different local Best Buy...but Antonio/GM, Janie/Dept Manager and Jorge/Salesman were phenomenal and made everything right and a great buying experience. After my experience at the other Best Buy I was about to return everything and just give my $$$ to Conn's. Then Antonio and Janie stepped in and gave exemplary customer service. I love Best Buy. At this point I have probably spent more than fifteen thousand there trougout the years. I have the membership and everything and whenever I have returned an item or had a problem I was never a problem to deal with (meaning I was always fast to return things and never bothered anyone with so many questions on a return or complained about not having a receipt etc. So today I was trying to find a Nespresso which this was the only Best Buy that had it in stock! Turns out in the display area there wasn't any boxes so I looked the the very top shelfs on the wall and i spotted one at the very far end which was odd they stacked it there but okay I guess. I asked so many people and they just looked so miserable in the eyes and looked like they just wanted to leave already. Eventually, some young guy came out of nowhere and helped me get it off the high shelf. I would never write a bad review on my favorite store. I shop here/online literally every week. I would love to work here so bad. I know every single thing about every item in this store and how everything works. I always go to the sonos speakers sections but it's never working because no body wants to do anything in that store. This store needs to hire people like me who would love and be PROUD to even come here and help people and enjoy my day working here fixing what needs to be fixed. I wish I could work here and clean all the products and set them up the way they are supposed to. I would even volunteer... but I guess no one ever will. This store has only gone downhill. Sorry Best Buy, but this location needs an overhaul. This is one the smallest Best Buys I've ever seen. The selection is horrendous. The DVD section is so small and poorly stocked as is every other section of this store. If you want help, good luck getting it. I was here with my fiance a few days ago and we needed assistance on something. Since what we were buying was a little pricey, I really wanted to make sure we had all the right info to make a good choice. I had to walk up and down a couple aisles and couldn't find anyone. I asked an employee who was on a ladder stocking product. She said once one of the other employees are available, she'll send one over to help me. I waited a while and no one came. The same employee saw that no one helped me yet and she assured me someone would be with me as soon as possible. No one ever showed. We waited as long as we could before we got frustrated and just chose something based on info we got from google. Next we wanted to demo some game consoles, since we decided to invest in one once we got back to work. The only working console was the Wii U. The TV's for the Xbox and the PS4 were not even hooked up to the gaming consoles and yet they were out on display for people to demo. I mean what's the problem? Did they just plug in the system and the tv and just leave it like that? Did they figure the game system would automatically sync with the tv? Do they even care? How are they suppose to sell product if they don't make it accessible to demo? Next we decided to look at bluray players real quick. It was actually quicker than we thought because they had very few to choose from. From now on I think I'll be shopping for my electronics needs at a different location. read more

SMH - Went to purchase a fire stick with Alexa remote a couple weeks ago. First the sales associate told us there was no such thing, so my husband had to show him what it was on the Best Buy website. Oh. Well, it wasn't in stock yet so we were told it had to be ordered so we tried that. No, that couldn't be done yet. Had to come back to the store on October 19th to order. So we did. However, apparently on October 16th store policy changed so the store associates could not order the fire stick for us so two wasted trips to Best Buy. No regard for customers anymore. I went to best buy to buy a washer, dryer and tv. I first needed to purchase a RCA "Y" jack adapter . After showing the salesman a picture of the adapter he told me they did not have it. He did looked and Found it. It was no where near what the picture showed. He had no clue. So I proceeded to look and found it.then I went to look for tv after begging someone to help me. The young lady did a good job helping me . I then proceeded to shop for a washer and dryer and I was going to purchase it but they said I would have to wait 30 days for approval . I told to them to forget it. I then called Conns in pharr Texas and I almost immediately was approved for 4000 dollar credit and purchased the washer, dryer am debating the tv. They were so nice and accommodating and acted as if they appreciated my business whereas Best buy acted as if they were doing me a favor.i will never shop at Best buy again.
