I want to give credit where credits due, because Best Buy would not normally be one of my stops for electronics. One lighting strike later, and needing a new TV, this is where I ended up. The store is located in the back of the York Town Center and is easy to find. The lady at the front of the store was more than helpful in guiding me to where the TVs were, and to get someone when I needed a product brought down from the storage racks. The selection of TV's was excellent. Where I will lightly criticize, is they needed more of the smaller models on display, and more of them stored closer to the ground, as I did need employee assistance to retrieve one. if I could give zero stars I would. We took our son's car there to have a radio and reverse camera installed . They told us it would be a three hour install and it ended up being seven hours and they still did not have it done when we arrived. The radio was protruding from the dash and not flush, and the technician was slamming his trunk shut, which then bent the bracket and broke off the trunk's trim piece. The trunk then would latch shut. The manager told us there was nothing he could do about the trunk, but that a technician could look at it and the radio the next day. So now they have our car for two days to install a radio a rear camera. When we returned the second day, the latch to the trunk was still broken and we were told that they couldn't do anything for us, but now the radio was flush in the dash. They returned our install fee wow (insert sarcasm). Because we had to take our car to a shop to have the trunk that they broke fixed we come to find out that the technician also installed our reverse camera in a spot that was meant for our trim piece to be attached. So the technician breaks our trim off the trunk's then proceeds to improperly install the camera through said trim piece hole. This cost us an additional $96 to fix the camera that they improperly installed. Overall, we were out an additional $325 to correct their incompetence. I called the store and was told the manager if geek squad forninstalls would follow up in 48hrs and have yet to receive a phone call. I've sent emails which have also gone without any response. I would never recommend anyone bring their vehicle here to have anything done by their technicians. read more

I ordered a microwave and paid for the installation of it. Was later told they could not complete the service. I was only refunded part of the amount. Spent hours in the phone trying to get the rest. Finally spoke to a supervisor that said they applied a coupon. No coupon was applied on my receipt. False advertisement, out of money and they refused to send me the invoice they were looking at so I could see it. Total SCAM. Will never buy from them again read more

We love Best Buy in York, PA. We always find a good deal on something. One thing we ALWAYS buy at Best Buy is our cell phones. We are Verizon customers, but prefer to go to Best Buy when we are due for an upgrade. We are the type of folks that don't upgrade until we have to. Best Buy never pressures us to upgrade - only educates us on the things that are beneficial to us, like when a phone we are interested in is selling for nearly $400.00 less than what it's list for. We have been lucky enough to deal with Jeremy, a Best Buy/Verizon guy that has been working at the store for our last THREE upgrades. Jeremy is AMAZING! He has always given us great advice, saved us quite a bit of money and is so friendly to deal with! FIVE STARS to Jeremy and Best Buy/Verizon for finding such a great fellow! Terrible customer service. I purchased a new Samsung tablet and asked about options for screen protectors. I was told they don't carry any and to go to Amazon instead before I was able to point to the sales person that there was one on the shelf. Then when I went to have the geek squad install it, they had me wait for an hour. They had done it within minutes but left it sitting in the back room and never checked with me. I will not return. If I could give this place negative stars, I would! I rarely give negative comments or low star ratings; however, this location merits such an action. Visiting family out of state for my little cousin's high school graduation, I decided to purchase her a laptop, software and accessories for her next venture to college. Luckily a Best Buy close to my uncle's house had all the products in stock, so l placed an online order for in store pick up for the next day. Today is the next day. Since we have brunch reservations in DC and the location opened at 11a, I figured I'd head straight over if I received an early text notification. If not, I'd have my uncle pickup it later since he's the designated pickup person. I received email notifications at 10:46a and text notifications at 11:03a, both stating my orders were ready for pickup. At 11:10a we approached the register with an associate asking if she could assist us and at 11:48a we were grabbing our bags to leave. The associate asked me my last name then proceeded to look through the area that appeared to house "ready for pickup" items. After looking through the area for a few minutes, shuffling various items around, she returned to us and asked me my last name again. This time I showed her my photo ID and asked if she'd like my order number to help with the process. She looked at my ID, ignored my offer of the order number, then asked what items was I picking up. She returned to the pickup area, shifted a few items and presented me with a laptop - not mine. She went back to the area, shifted a few items and as she walked towards us I told her it was not what I ordered. At this point, she pulled out her device then asked for my order number, ID and credit card used. She scanned the order number from my phone, searched the pickup area once more, spoke with someone over her walkie talkie, waited a few minutes then proceeded to head into a separate department across the store. When she finally resurfaced, she placed the items on the counter and proceeded to speak with an associate. After a few minutes of conversation, unrelated to my order, I interrupted them. I pointed out that we had been at her register for almost 30 min for items that were suppose to be ready for pickup and now she had the audacity to further have me wait as she had a side conversation. I instructed her to complete my transactions so that we could leave. After more than five minutes, my orders were complete, items bagged and we were finally leaving her register. A simple transaction turned into quite the ordeal. I usually enjoy my Best Buy experiences; however, this one proved not as successful. I will never patron this location again from anything, ever again! Horrible customer service, bad practices of in store pick processes and a lack of courtesy for the customer's time. On a brighter note, my cousin loves her newest tech products and accessories and we're headed to brunch. read more

For the most part I have found the staff here knowledgeable and helpful. I have also used they're return system and it was fairly seamless. Negative stars if I could I purchased a Home Cloud Back Up, on 12/14/21 as a Christmas present. The person that received the present tried to use the product on 2/17/22 and could not use the product. Her existing equipment could not handle the newer technology. Best Buy has a 15 day return policy that is not printed on your receipt. You have to go to there web site and search for it. The gift recipient received the present on Christmas, after Christmas she had covid, then she was out of town for two weeks. I tried to return the product to the York, PA Best Buy and the first person I spoke with was very nice and pleasant. He got all the information and then said he needed to check with his manager for approval. He informed me that the manager said no and I asked to speak with the manager. Johnny Grim the manager said no and was asked why he would not take it back. He gave the 15 day return excuse that is not on the recept, but his response was basically because I said no. He was very hostile, belligerent and rude. I contacted the corporate office and they informed me that "it was up to the manager, "he could take it back if he wanted to" They also gave me a Reference number and said take to another Best But store and give them the reference number. I returned it to the Lancaster, PA store. I asked for the manager, he asked why it was being returned and I explained why. He refunded the money immediately and said "have a nice day" We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. read more

This is the worst Best Buy I have ever been to in my whole life. This one is a 2 part review since I had two totally terrible experiences here in one day. Part 1: I called in to ask about upgrading to a new phone, and the customer service woman started to argue with me (why?? I have no idea). When I said that I wanted to talk to somebody in the mobile department, as the issue I had going on was with my phone, she rudely hung up on me. If I could give this place -5 stars I would. Part 2: I eventually had to go in to the store that afternoon to get a badly needed new phone, and they guy who helped me didn't answer any of my questions adequately and it took 2 hours for me to walk out of there with a phone. Mind you, they said they would transfer all the photos and contacts and emails/texts - and it didn't happen! I waited around for nothing. So After two hours of staying in that building I just left with a smile and did the transfer myself. The only sort of good thing was that the guy helping me wasn't an asshole like the customer service woman who I spoke with earlier that clearly has mental issues and should be fired. Conclusion: If you want to upgrade your phone, don't ever go here. The people here are inept and full of themselves. Go to the Verizon at the nearby galleria. We bought a nice 2-1 Desktop on February 23. And that's less 2 months if my Math is correct. The pc has stopped working. My husband took it to the store so they can have a look at what they can do. We can either send it the Manufacturer ourself or they can fix it (GeekSquad) but it will cost us. And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is how they rob you off your money. We always go to BestBuy for our electronics ( including the recent purchase of Sony smart 65 inches, 2 PC bought on Feb. 23, speakers and Blu-ray movies) but this kind of customer assistance or help or SERVICE is what I call greed. Receiving a refund for an over-charge can be very difficult. Case ID numbers assigned by online support, which are supposedly meant to streamline the process, are proven to be utterly useless since, apparently, they are contained only 1 department and can not be shared with, or viewed by, any other department required in the process. It seems the arbitrary process is intended more to frustrate and stall the customer then it is to resolve the problem. read more

If you HAVE to go to Best Buy, go to a diff location. I went here Monday 26*Nov*2018 around 8pm to get an Apple Pencil & case for my iPad Pro (I also got my iPad Pro from here and while the service was alright this one was terrible). I waited probably 20 min before I just interrupted someone doing stock so I could get what I needed, I understand they're busy, however, no one other than the security guard at the entrance acknowledged my existence (not even a "be with you in a sec"). So once I get the team member he gets someone else to get me the pencil (he didn't have a key) the team member that actually got the pencil did apologise for the long wait which I did appreciate. We had a little chat as he was ringing me out & I then left. When I was home (around 8:35/8:40pm....they close at 9pm) I realised I was charged $59(and some change) for the case but the label said 39. So I called the number provided by google and reached a team member, I explained the situation and he said -with attitude- "we'll come on back," I took a deep breath and went to explain that there's no way for me to come back because they'd be close, HOWEVER, IN tHE MIDDLE OF ME TALKING he hangs up on me. Now I'm angry. So I call again and a different team member answers, I ask to speak to a manager and he transfers me. I explain the situation to her and explain the experience with the first phone call. She told me that the store doesn't get calls and it's a different store that answers (which I've never heard of and I've worked multiple retail jobs, still do), she then tells me that the label does say $39(and some change) & to bring my receipt & they'll give back the difference and that she would write a note for tomorrow's team. I sent my mother to best buy with the receipt on Tuesday 27*Nov*2018 because I had to work until 9pm so I wouldn't have made it, she texts me repeatedly asking for the managers name (which she never gave) and says "no one knows what I'm talking about" and that they aren't understanding how i was overcharged and that she needed the case, there's literally TWO things on my receipt; Apple Pencil, UAG case. I'm not understanding how hard it was to go look at the product on the shelf and see that it said a different price from what the receipt was charged by that point my mom was getting so stressed out she started to not feel well. At this point I'm ready to return the whole transaction and get what I need somewhere else. This Best Buy is decent sized but very limited in inventory for appliances, computers, movies, music and video games. The prices are the same as what you will find anywhere else and the service is marginal at best. I do like the fact that they price match Amazon, Wal-Mart and Target. I purchased a $12 micro SD card online with my BB credit card. Scheduled to pick it up at particular time. I'm visiting York from Michigan so I wanted to use the card in my phone on the way back. When I arrive, I explain to the clerk what I was there for and she proceed to ask me several questions for security purposes. She then ring up the product and say that I will need my i.D and BB card. I don't have my BB card on me but I tell her that usually in similar situations that BB would use my drivers license and look up my account to verify. Nope. Not this Best Buy. The clerk says that they don't do that at their store and suggested that I pay with another card. I tell her that they do it ALL of the time in MI. She still refused so I ask that she credit my card for my online purchase and I will go back online and order it for pick up in MI. This store lost a purchase even though it was $12 but that's besides the point. What difference would it have made if I produced a BB card or not, I HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH YOU! I usually pay off my card and stay away until I see a good deal but due to their unattentiveness to me as a customer ( several times and almost all of their stores), I think I will pay it off for good and take my business somewhere else. read more

Third bad experience working with the Geek Squad. Last year we had some computer issues. Called the Geek squad help desk, and they couldn't solve my problem. Someone came out to the house, and my problem never really was solved. Two weeks ago I spilled water on my computer. Went to Best Buy to buy a new computer, because I needed a backup for work anyway. Paid $199.00 for them to get the data off the HD from the old computer and upload files to my new computer. Also, part of the $199.00 was to have my computer "set up". Well, they said the data was unretrieveable, but they had "set up" the computer, which should have included my MS software uploaded. Nope! Sent the HD to a relative who does disaster recovery, and he was able to get all of my data restored. Geek Squad never "set up my computer". LAST TiME I will work with these people!! read more

in all the years I've been shopping at Best Buy i have only had one bad experiences when them. I purchase a cell phone through them and bought a 2-year warranty for it I start to have issues with the phone and went back to the store to do a service claim only to find out that the warranty that i bought that they were charging 899 a month was placed on my old phone and they refused to transfer over to my new phone they claim that it was against policy so after 3 hours to talk to a customer representative on the phone at the store I finally was able to get them refunded me for 8 mounths of payment. General manager made me feel like a criminal. Called customer service yesterday to inquire about returning an awful vacuum that I had purchased cash and no longer had the receipt for. Knowing it was $700 and after not being able to locate the receipt, she told me to go to a store and they would give me store credit, which was perfect bc I just need a vacuum that works. Go to this store and the GM Dan tells me he can't return it bc it's not a $40 iPhone case and bc im not a loyalty member and he doesnt know me and gave me a number to call. I showed him that I called that number yesterday and he told me to call it again and talk to someone else. So this lady goes through everything again and then ends up telling me that he can return it and asks to speak to him. I tried to hand him my phone but he said he wouldn't talk to her on my phone and that she can call the store but he still won't do it. So he purposely wasted my time. Then as we were walking out, he said to his co-worker "oh I know I can do it, I just wont". Why does such an awful person have a job? I tried to exchange a motorolla xoom that I purchased at this location for an ipad 2. After using the xoom, it just didn't do it for me; there were connectivity issues, email account adding issues, and the android store doesn't have near the robustness of the iTunes store. So, within 30 days, I tried to exchange and was going to buy something more expensive, ultimately. However, they have a new policy of a 14 day return/exchange period for desktops and notebook computers, cameras etc. Tablets weren't mentioned on the policy printed on the receipt, but, of course they're included. You're just supposed to know that. I was outside the 14 day window, but inside the 30 day window. After speaking to someone at the store and getting the expected denial, I called the national hotline, a very helpful woman there explained that the reason some items are 14 day is because people were buying a digital camera, using it on their vacation, and then returning it for a refund saying that it didn't work; abusing the return policy. Since she and I agreed that the fact that I was trying to EXCHANGE a tablet (and exchange for a more expensive tablet, hence me spending more money at the store) she urged me to go in to talk to a manager and plead my case. So that's what I did. I talked to a man named Ray and I told him that I talked with someone on the hotline who explained to me the intent of the 14 day policy and expressed my hope that they could wiggle on this policy for me as 1. I was not trying to seek a refund 2. I was going to spend more money than initially planned and 3. I had been a regular customer buying things like a tv, ps3, computer/monitor/video card, and a digital camera from them in the past. He "went into the back" to confer with...someone about what they would do. An aside here: we all know that "going to or checking in the back" is just bullshit right; a way for the customer to feel like something is happening? Ok, good. Moving on. So he comes out and says that he can't do it because it was so far out (I had had it for 27 days at the time). The xoom had no wear and tear on it and I even still had the box and all documentation. I left the store very frustrated. To note: I had remained polite, calm, and logical the whole time as I have had spent many years in retail and swore to myself that I'd never be one of "those customers." I became angry because I knew they had to have bent in the past for customers; customers who were asking for much more and were much more belligerent. Why should I suffer for being civil? I went back the next day to try and get some face time with the general manager, Troy. He wouldn't even see me. Ray came over again and kept his decision despite my case and my mentioning that I had been a loyal customer. It would, apparently, effect his precious bottom line so I was out of luck. Should I have looked at the back of the receipt the minute I was out of the store after making the purchase? Probably. Was I asking for the world? I don't believe so. What this experience taught me is that Best Buy doesn't give a shit about customer satisfaction once they have your money. Unless you bought one of their paranoia-fueled warranties, they could care less if you bought a CD or you bought a whole home theater setup, get out of the way because they're just figuring that some other wallet will take your place. You would think brick and mortar electronics stores would try and step up their customer service game because there are sites out there like newegg and amazon that can always beat their prices. To sound like a old curmudgeon: Best Buy is never getting another cent from me. I'm paying off my card and then canceling it. I would highly recommend doing the same. To Whom It May Concern, 2/28/2020 Yesterday evening I had a very poor experience at two of your Best Buys stores. Please allow me to express my defeat. Approximately ten days ago I started shopping for a new large screen TV. I have been looking at 55- & 65-inch LG OLED 9C PUA models. I have studied all the televisions of that price range to a point where I could sell these TVs. I was not yet committed to what size I wanted to purchase. And I visited your Best Buy Store on Fruitville Pike in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where I started to work with a very knowledgeable and very professionally acting gentleman named Tomas. After visiting him over a few days. He pointed me to another Best Buy store in York, Pa where they had 55" TVs in stock and he referred me to a gentleman named Ray. This is where my displeasure starts. When we traveled to the York store and met with Ray. We shifted gears and decided to go for the 65" TV. Go figure! "Long story short". I remembered the Lancaster Store had an "Open Box" that was discounted by $300. I asked Ray if he had any Open Box TVs. He found one that was on the wall but did not come with a stand. We would need the stand because it was designed for acoustic reasons unless you are wall mounting and choose to use a sound bar. We do not want to wall mount the TV. Ray said they did not have the stand. I asked him if he could call the Lancaster store where the Open Box TV was available to inquire if it had a stand. His inquiry had found that it had everything (including the stand) was in the box. So, my wife drove another 30 minutes back to the Lancaster store to make the purchase where I was about to pull the trigger and make the purchase. But we shortly became befuddled, confused and discouraged when we found out the Open Box TV did not come with the stand. We asked for the floor manager at Lancaster to call the York Store to work through this confusion. Apparently, your employees where not on the same page and we wasted nearly two hours. The York, Pa store Manager (Matt) offered us a $100 discount for our inconvenience. That is only 30% of the discount we were led to believe the Lancaster Store had on their floor. This is not acceptable, especially after spending nearly two hours on this project and walking away with nothing. My biggest defeated moment of this whole issue is lack of delivery and communication. I understand there is a human element and mistakes will be made. But I also believe situations can be resolved after errors have been made. Unfortunately, your two Best Buys stores did not recognize this issues and I walked out empty handed and with a bad experience. Very Discouraged read more

Ive been there 5 times in the last month and no one ever asks if i need help . Floor personal are always busy with other people . My average wait is 20 mins to never helped at all. Store is clean they have a lot of great products but no one around to answer my questions resulting in a no sale. I usually go during the day so maybe they have a better evening staff.
