I've lived in Philadelphia for years and like any major city, a whole in the wall Chinese takeout spot is usually a sign for great food. Unfortunately, Best China Wok does not deliver on this. I ordered the General Tso's chicken with white rice. Crab Rangoons, and fried wontons. The General Tso's comprised of dark meat chicken and was primarily fat- making the food inedible. There was also a surprising lack of flavor to the sauce. The entree unfortunately ended up in the trash since that's where it belonged. The fried wontons were over-fried and under-stuffed with wonton. This created a small rose petal-like dagger in your mouth of sharp wonton with no flavor. This restaurant has been here for years, I came to this restaurant growing up as a child. It's right down the street, super convenient, fast and food okay. It's a hit or miss with some dishes. I do enjoy the chicken and broccoli . The food is reasonable priced and portions are huge. read more

I'm so up and down with this place but I think I finally had enough of the inconsistency. My last meal from them will actually be my last from them. Ordered a Mongolian Beef & a Shredded Pork With Garlic Sauce. When I got them home I couldn't tell which was which. They looked identical. Mongolian beef should be beef and scallions in a dark sauce with lots of charring from the hot wok, this was slop, a few scallions but mostly the typical mixed veggies in a ton of light colored sauce, absolutely gross, the pork looked exactly the same. I called to tell them there was a mistake and they said no that's how they make them. I'm done!! read more

Good chinese place with take out or dine-in. Small but not too small seating area can seat over 40 people. They have "regulars" who come often, and that's a good sign! Food came out fast and SO UNBELIEVABLY HOT I could've burnt my mouth! BE CAREFUL, the food is HOT! read more

One of Lancaster cities best Chinese take out spots. The food is always hot and the service is fast. Environment: Looks like your typical Chinese take out spot. A couple of tables. I wouldn't go with a group unless you want to pull some tables together. This place sports a buffet on certain days during the week. The buffet is small and often to crowded with McCaskey students to actually enjoy your meal. Food: The food is good and fresh off the wok. They actually sell pretty good platanos(Sweet fried plantains). Delivery: If you call for home delivery I can honestly say when they say 15 minutes....they mean 15 minutes. The have one of the fastest delivery men I have ever encountered. The dude is like the mailman. He even came out in the snow and rain. Must be at least 10 dollars for delivery. First time visit, and I must say that I was quite pleased overall. As with most places, there were some things that I ordered that I liked better than others, but I wasn't unhappy with anything. First off, the Beef Teriyaki on a stick is really good. The meat is seasoned nicely and is all meat... no fat or gristle. Good start to the meal. The egg rolls were small but not greasy or too dry like some other places. Loved the sweet and sour chicken. The meat was tender, juicy, and with a perfect coating. The sauce was quite good too. The Pork Egg Foo Young (always my favorite dish) was very tasty, and although the sauce was nice and thick as I like it, for me it was a bit too salty. Of course, this is just a matter of taste, because my granddaughter thought the sauce was perfect. The Pork Fried Rice was a tad on the dry side, but a few packets of duck sauce took care of that issue just fine. It did have a nice amount of pork included. All in all, we are looking forward to trying other dishes. I consider this a worthwhile place to visit, but I can only speak to service since I placed my order online and had it delivered through Door Dash. Everything ordered came hot, fresh, and complete. I have lived and ate here my entire life. This location has been around almost 20 years. There is a reason why they are the busiest Chinese takeout in the entire Lancaster. They serve good food, its American Chinese, can't really go wrong with it. My favorite is their Chicken Wings, it is a must have! Being an old location it isn't the most cleanest or fancy of all places. I don't know if I would recommend it date worthy ;). Tip: They get really busy during 6-7 so if you don't want to wait 45minutes for you food, get it early or call ahead. I am not exaggerating about this, they get really really busy! This is my go-to cheap Chinese food place. They offer online ordering so you don't have to read your card number to someone over the phone which is a huge bonus. They also deliver within three miles of their restaurant which is great. The food is good, not phenomenal but you get what you pay for and what you get is fairly delicious Chinese food and a huge portion of it for a decent price. Can't beat that in my book. read more

Called and asked them to bring the correct soup, and he argued with me, swearing up and down that I ordered egg drop. Two people heard me place the order, I definitely said won ton, as if that's the point. Your food isn't good enough to be treating your customers like this. My kids got some food from here and got me a little something for work. The beef lo mein was good typical lo mein (don't get me wrong,it is good in a pinch). The sesame chicken was very good. I don't normally get Americanized Chinese food, but there are those days where you just kind of get those cravings. When you do, this is the place to go. There is a reason this restaurant is always busy. It's the oldest Chinese restaurant in the area. The same customers keep going back. The owners are the nicest and most hardworking people I've ever met. They seem to know all their customers, customers and the owners always saying hi and how have you been, etc. Their food is really, really good. They know how to make food. The flavors are spot on. Other places are too salty and too oily. My favorite is their coconut shrimp (they are so delicious, I've never had them this good anywhere else, it's shocking actually). I like this place because it's not one of those fancy smancy places with average food that still leaves you hungry. This is traditional, good ol' fashion Americanized Chinese takeout with all the general customer favorites. Also their wings are sooo juicy and crispy. Call in to place an order so you don't have to sit there and wait. This is one of those places to call in after work, swing by for pickup on your way home, and stay in for dinner with someone while you turn on a movie and relax. read more
