I contacted these folks regarding the replacement of a roof on a rental property that I own. I requested the "free estimate" that they offered. The price they quoted was approximately 50% more than the others I'd received. The sales pitch evolved into a "You need to accept our terms today" sort of fiasco. The experience was reminiscent of the old "car buying experience" where they have to check with their manager, and the price is only good for today, sort of thing. Even though I made it quite plain that I DO NOT SIGN anything at a first time meeting. I contacted Best Choice in Williamsburg for an estimate. They sent someone out this morning and looked it over. When done I tried to give them my contact info and they said we only deal with the insurance company directly. The insurance company is looking out for themselves, the roofing company is looking out for themselves. Who would be looking out for me? I don't know roofing but I know in sales you want to talk to the decision maker, since I will be writing the checks, that would be me. I don't get it. read more

I came back from picking up groceries, and was greeted by one of these on the door--with both hands full. I reached out to them via FB and two comments were deleted. I then added a review to cover this as it's the only thing I could still write to, and was informed last night by an Aaron Ciupka that these hangers would continue to be placed until something was done about it. Since this was ended less than amicably, I informed him that I had planned on posting no trespassing and no soliciting signs. I would have liked to have had my simple request recognized, instead, everything was deleted and I was blocked. I have a right to be left alone. I'll just report them next time they're on the property, after signs have been posted. Though, I'm hoping instead, they'll reach out for my address and just stop placing these on my door handles. Unprofessional and rude. We did not call this company or request any services. Salesman walked up to our house and did not identify his name or who he works for and started his pitch even after we told him we do not own our house. He let himself into our backyard as we stood there and started marking our windows with chalk without our consent and also photographed us without our consent. We only knew what company this was from the flyer he left behind. Made us and our dogs very uncomfortable. Not a good way to market your services. read more

Scam - they knock on your door, claim that insurance company will give you a free roof due to a few shingles missing. Climbed up on the roof and threw several shingles into the back yard, than filed an unauthorized fraudulent claim with my insurance company claiming damage happened back in August 14, 2019 (today is February 10, 2010)... read more

From day one everyone was great to work with! Annetta in the office is so organized and gets questions answered. Travis came out and did my roof inspection and was so friendly and EXTREMELY knowledgeable. He explained everything to me and followed up when he said he was going to. On the day of the roof repair Mark stopped by and called me as I wasn't able to be home and updated me on everything that was taking place. I have been with the company for 9 years and have assisted hundreds of homeowners with storm damage to get a new roof through their insurance company with the homeowner only paying their deductible. We have completed over 40,000 roofs with 90% of the homeowners we have assisted in getting new roofs on their homes for little money through their insurance company because of storm damage. I would not be associated with a company that "scams" homeowners. If one of our representatives did what you are saying I would ask you to please tell me his/her name because I will personally look into it. That type of actions if true would not be tolerated. If I could give a 0 rating I would. After a wind storm, I got a knock on the door and it was a lady. She stated that she noticed shingles on the ground and she was "in the neighborhood." She asked if I knew that I could request a claim through insurance. She knew at that moment that I wasn't very knowledgeable. I took her info and told her I would look into it. After a couple days, she called me. I felt like she was genuine so I said they could come and give me a quote as my roof was 26 years old. They even helped with calling my insurance and we all set up a time to meet. The roofing company did their quote, and the insurance adjuster did theirs. After determining how much insurance would pay, the business requested my information that the insurance company provided showing the amount they were giving me to cover the damage. (I didn't know that I didn't have to show them that.. yes I'm stupid for that) after that they stated they had a quote for me. I requested that they email it to me as I am extremely busy during the week. They basically begged to come on a Saturday and I agreed. Two of them showed up and the quote was a mess. He said all kinds of things were missing and had a hard time organizing what all the chargers were. He even stated that since the manager who put it together messed it up, and he wouldn't charge me the extra $1000 that was missing. At that point I did feel like they were genuine and there for me as I am a single mother. He then gave me their quote and quoted extremely high. I asked if they finance and he said yes. I asked the interest rate and they said 10.99. I stated that, that was a ridiculous and way out of my budget. I truly felt like they waited for the amount from insurance and then hiked the prices up as much as they could. I told them a few times that the price is too much and I don't want to waste anymore of their time. They told me that if I'm paying monthly why does the interest rate matter? I am a banker and I had a lot to say but chose not to. I asked respectively that they give me time to consider my options. They kept telling that no one will be cheaper and the longer I wait the more the price of everything will increase. Finally the guy said he had a form for me to sign that would lock in my quote for 23 days. I read over it and no where in there did I see this was a contract or any type of fees associated. He even assured me that this was not a contract and only a form to lock in my quote. Finally they left and the next couple weeks a received a couple of quotes. I found someone much cheaper and I called them to let them know. I then began receiving calls from the lady and their manager. They kept asking if they could just talk to me and understand that their price is reasonable. After a couple of weeks I received a call from the lady stating that if I didn't go with them I would have to pay $500. I called their manager back and he stated that I signed a contract stating if I didn't go with them, that I would have to pay $500. I told him I wasn't paying them anything because that was never discussed and frankly not fair. I called another location and asked to speak to someone higher than him, and they kept connecting me with him. The guy that did my quote didn't even have the proper shoes on and joked about falling off the roof. They then harassed me and told me that I would have to pay it and asked if I really wanted that against my credit. They called me about that $500 for months. I was so disappointed in them. They knocked on my door, basically begged me for a quote and then did this to me. DO NOT go with them, and ask questions about "fees" before getting a quote. I thought long and hard about posting such a negative review. But, I would hate to see them charge someone else $500 for nothing and doing it in a shady way. They seek the vulnerable. The salesman Mark was professional and knowledgeable. The price quoted was fair in comparison to the services offered and prices quoted from other roofing companies. Work started when promised and was completed in 2 days (we have a large roof). Once completed the roof looked really nice. However, we discovered that several of our outdoor lights were damaged. Our salesman Mark advised us to purchase new lights and submit the receipts for reimbursement. I also noticed a flood light and solar panel (for light) were left dangling by the wires. Also, there were several cables (security camera and satellite dish) hanging over the side of the house. The work crew also didn't do a great job of cleaning up after the job. They left a lot of nails on the ground. The real problem started after a couple of rainstorms. We noticed numerous leaks in the house. We contacted our salesman Mark who got a crew out right away. They discovered that the original roofing crew had failed to properly seal numerous roof vent and pipes. These were resealed. The initial roofing crew cut a lot of corners to get the job done quickly and caused leaks that I had to repaint several areas of the ceiling after having just recently painted. We also have a large vaulted wooden ceiling. When the crew was installing the roof their nail guns knocked several chunks out of the wooden ceiling. As for the reimbursement for the damaged light, nine months later we still have not received payment. read more

I have never experienced such inadequate, unreliable, deceptive, and unprofessional services, as I did with Best Choice Roofing. My property was damaged during the Oct 8, 2020 install (left holes in my roof decking wood, a hole and scratches were left on my vinyl siding, & the kitchen window panel was dented and scratched). Dec 30, 2020 is when I finally had my decking repaired. This was after weeks of same day appointment cancellations or late arrivals from the agreed upon time. It was always "an emergency came up". My Dec 30, 2020 appointment would have likely been cancelled had I not contacted the National Sales Director. Even still, my 9am install didnt get started until after 1:00pm which caused me to be late to a very important appointment. My remaining property damage has not been repaired as of yet. A massive amount of nails (70+ nails) were left around my home following the Oct 8, 2020 install (documented evidence); my dogs foot was pricked as a result. Debri (sharp wood shards and nails) was left in my attic and garage. The debri in my attic was just cleaned up on Dec 30, 2020. Following my Oct 8, 2020 install, I informed the Corporate Sales Director of my property damages and the subcontractor's negligent clean-up, hoping to get an immediate resolve. He minimized the nail concerns as common occurrence, and initially implied his subcontractors hadn't caused the damage to my roof decking. A few hours after speaking with him, I started receiving emails requesting my final payment. I later discovered by my insurance company that Best Choice attempted to obtain the final check, knowing that was not the protocol, and that they had not repaired the damage to my property. Following my Oct 8, 2020 install, I have been requesting the pictures of my roof decking (from Accounts Dept staff-Terri, the Production Manager, General Manager, & Corporate Sales Director). It is Best Choice protocol to take pictures of the roof before, during, and after install projects. I was sent roof decking pictures of someone elses property, but never received mine. Even after informing everyone of this concern, and continually requesting my Oct 8, 2020 decking pictures, I have not received them. Best Choice staff have very poor communication and follow-up; they were not on the same page with how matters and appointments were to be managed. When I tried to address concerns with upper management on Dec 30, 2020, I was given excuses and insulted (minimized their errors and my reason to be concerned). During that call I was yelled at and threatened to have a lien put on my home by the Accounts Dept. employee(Terri), who according to the Corporate Sales Director I was speaking to, was not authorized by him to get on the call. It was the most, shocking and unprofessional experience. From Oct 8, 2020 thru Dec 30, 2020 my services with this agency was mismanaged and inefficient. The National Sales Director himself admitted the matter should have been resolved well before Dec 30, 2020. I would not recommend utilizing Best Choice Roofing for services. read more

The cost of the roof changed five times from the start/signing of the contract. After signing the contract, I received a text stating that a mistake was made and I should affirm that I will pay an additional $350. I declined to change the contact. A few days later, I received a phone call stating that the contact was wrong and I owed $100 less. On the day of the job, I received a call stating that the job was completed but I owed an additional$800 due to some repairs they made. I stated that 3 sections wete to be included, but no one called me to say additional panels were needed, therefore I am willing to pay the agreed upon price but no more. After consulting, they informed me that $200 was included and I would only need to pay $600 more. I refused. I was told we didn't think you were the kind of person who would let your credit be ruined over $600. Apparently, being a senior and female, I looked like an easy mark. Just be careful dealing with this company, and read the contract yourself, rather than having it summarized for you. read more
