Wow. I'm here on Sunday for my Official Duty to Judge the KCBS sanctioned BBQ Cookoff where 40 teams compete for Prize Money and Points Standings. This is one thing that throws off the Public as these Teams are competing and not Vending thier BBQ. IT'S been that way for 22 years straight, The event named Best Dam BBQ is to draw in people to help with Jaycee's yearly fundraising and that comes from Purchased Wares, Donations, and a Weekend Long BBQ cookout...Burgers and Hotdogs only, Backyard BBQ! Soo my day was Awesome to come out early and People watch, Check out all the BBQ competitors rigs and tents, Smell the Smoke, then Do My Thing as an official Kansas City BBQ Society Master Judge, Then browse the Craft Fair and pick up some Amazing Homemade Sweets... I came to Vegas back in September of 2021 for this festival and made some amazing memories throughout all of it. They made you either upload your vaccine information so you could just quickly be scanned inside, or you had to have a Covid test done at their specific facility. They also had an app that showed the food places, art exhibit, and band stage locations and times. It was really helpful to have that app on me the entire time. The music was fantastic. They had so many different bands and artists that covered different genres. Billie EIlish, Green Day, All Time Low, Illenium, A$AP Rocky, etc. They had stand up shows being done by Trevor Wallace and other comedians. This part was absolutely amazing. The food was some of the best food I've had. I didn't expect festival food to be that great, but they brought in some great food trucks, and local chefs/restaurants for this event. I wish I had eaten a lot more of it there, but the prices were fairly spendy. Overall, you have to try the food and drinks there. They had some grassy areas for you to sit and nap on too which we definitely took advantage of all that. Overall, Life is Beautiful is a great festival and I definitely recommend it.

You can enter and leave the venue whenever, so if you're tired during the day, walk back to your hotel, take a nap and come right back recharged ~ This isn't just a music festival, this event has many other attractions you can check out. They have mini shows that range from Cirque du Soleil, comedians, drag queens, podcast hosts and many more. There's a lot of unique artworks plaster around the whole downtown block and let's not forget the food ! Also the weather is perfect ! It's always on the last week of September, so it's not too hot or too cold, just right. If you're in Vegas, this is definitely one of the festivals to check out ~

This festival gets big and bigger every year but still maintains a friendly family event atmosphere. They have great crafts and delicious food at reasonable prices compared to many other festivals. For the kids they have a kids section that includes rides, train ride, face painting and food. All evening they have live music and a dance area to have some fun. This festival is fun for both family or a date night. Parking is easy and they have shuttles to pick you up and drop you off at the entrance gate. Cost to get in this year was $10 for adults. Festival runs from Friday to Sunday.

The weather was perfect, a little overcast, and it seemed like it might rain at one point, but it just passed us by. I was able to get food without waiting in an excessively long line. We had the souvlaki, and a piece of spanakopita! I bought some pottery from a vendor who came all the way in from CA! Also picked up some Holy Honey from one of my favorite vendors! We had a great time, listening to some music, but missed the performers. My tip for you is to avoid the parking nightmare, and park in the areas where they have shuttles that take you to and from the event. It's free, and they drop you right off at the door. I'll never understand why more people don't take advantage of this convenience. Be kind, & tip your driver!

Always a large number, this year close to 200 independent craft workers from various states. All the work that is on display comes directly from the crafter/ artisan and is limited in supply, not massed produced and replicated. I always enjoy finding unique gifts for family and friends, not to mention stuff for myself. I highly recommend this festival, look for it, April and November yearly!

Local breweries in attendance at past fests include Gordon Biersch, Ellis Island, Boulder Dam Brewing, Big Dog's and Banger Brewing. Among the newest attendees are Lovelady Brewing, Hop Nuts Brewing and Astronomy Aleworks. Reno has also been represented. A handful from Arizona and California, such as Stone Brewing, Ballast Point and Four Peaks Brewing, also take part. There are also a few vendors selling wares such as beer related goodies. Live music rounds out the lineup, and the crowd is a mix of generations. There are a lot of brewery tents spread throughout the park, and a row of food trucks park on the street up the hill. The festival offers 2 levels of pricing, with VIP entrance starting at 1 pm and ranging from $45 to $60. General admission starts at 3 pm, ranging from $35 to $45. The cheaper tickets are only available before event day. 2019 was the 7th annual beerfest, and the crowd was the largest I've seen yet!
