I've come to Grey Witch a couple of times because some local bands I enjoy perform here. Unfortunately, both visits have been disappointing when it comes to service. The bartenders have come across as unusually aggressive and visibly annoyed from the start of interactions. I understand that busy nights can be stressful, but the consistent rudeness seems to be part of the overall experience rather than an isolated incident. What made the experience especially uncomfortable is that, after reading many positive reviews, I found myself wondering why my interactions felt so different. As a Mexicana, I can't help but question whether my ethnicity played a role in the way I was treated. We started out at the bar where they had a nice selection of signature cocktails, beers, and local brews. You can also order food at that bar. The entire waitstaff was friendly and quick. I'd looked at the Grey Witch's menu here on Yelp and thought it would be fun to try some of their pizzas while I was visiting family in town. It's located in a very nondescript shopping strip and even the storefront is very plain and unassuming. But as soon as you walk through the door, you're transported to a fun, whimsical, and curious place. It's somewhere between Middle Ages and enchanting. The front "reception/waiting area" also has seating for patrons under 21 because the main room is considered to be a bar. Even in the reception area, there are all kinds of interesting things hanging on the walls and on the ceiling. There's also what appears to be an oversized fireplace, which is actually a "hidden" entrance to their speakeasy. VERY COOL!! Anyway, back to the food ~ I ordered ahead for pickup and our order came up shortly after we checked in. I can appreciate their timeliness! It wasn't too far of a drive back home, so the food was still fairly warm when we got back. Since we were feeding adults and lots of kids, we ordered the Pizza Party (5 specialty pizzas and one cheese) and a couple orders of the PB & J wings. Six pizzas sounds like a lot, but keep in mind this IS bar food, so each one was about a 5X5 square, cut on the diagonal (we ended up cutting it on the opposite diagonal at home so more of us could sample the food). This is Detroit-style pizza, so the crust is thick, almost reminiscent of focaccia. It was good, but it probably tastes REALLY good after you've thrown back a few cocktails. Pineapple Party: ham, pineapple, and hot BBQ sauce are the stars of this one. You really can't go wrong with this combo IMO. 5/5 Meatsa Meatsa: pepperoni, sausage, and ham. A meat lover's dream 5/5 Italian Job: prosciutto, fig jam, feta, arugula, and black pepper. The sweetness of the jam combined with the salty feta was really nice. 4/5 The Babe: BBQ pulled pork, candied jalapeños, onions, and slaw. Very rich, especially with that thick crust. 3/5 It Came from the Forest: 2 kinds of mushrooms, caramelized onions, goat cheese and some VERY tasty sauces. CRAZY GOOD!! 7/5 PB & J wings: the wings had a sauce basted on and were lightly sprinkled with crushed peanuts. This bar is witchin'... with a b. Grey Witch is the 3rd venture of food and beer expert Russell Gardner, who previously launched tiki bar Red Dwarf and some spot called Fat Cat which I kinda didn't try yet. This visit was also overdue as it's in pretty much in my backyard in Henderson and, like Red Dwarf, offers an eclectic variety of Detroit-style pizzas and adult beverages. I've enjoyed that pizza since trying a beta test at room temp back before Russ started Red Dwarf, so of course I had to order some tonight. My friend opted for the Italian Job ($15.00), which sounds like a winner with prosciutto, fig jam, arugula, goat cheese, and black pepper. It came on a very airy thick crust and was cut diagonally, resulting in four flavorful triangles. The flavor combo was indeed great and had noticeably fresh arugula and non-chewy prosciutto. But the huge winner and don't-you-dare-miss-it pie was the It Came From The Forest ($15.00), with amazing mushroom richness in every bite, plus a vegan-sounding cashew garlic creme sauce, and oddly enough, truffle oil which must have been very subtle and/or balanced. The flavor medley is so rich but not overwhelming. You may even want to order a second right away. The meal also started swimmingly. I was glancing at the craft beer list out of habit and appreciating that it's still very affordable ($8 at most, $4 for the house beer), but I went for a limited-time drink off the Winter Cocktails menu instead. The Last Yuletide ($14.00) really played well off the Genepi herbal liqueur, balancing it nicely with gin, spiced pear liqueur, elderflower, lemon, and lime. It is more of a challenging but balanced drink than a typical fruit-forward gin concoction, and I enjoyed every sip. And the Garlic Bread ($6.00) was a great app choice by my buddy. I'm pretty sure it's made from that airy Detroit pizza dough but brushed with butter then dusted with a spice blend, including oddly potent dried chili flakes. It was good before the red sauce dip and really great with even a modest amount of said dip. Congrats to Russ for continuing to be amazing. I will have to come back to Grey Witch sooner than later when the Detroit-style pizza craving hits because they have produced one of my favorite pizzas ever. read more

Rolled the magical 6 sider and it chose Grey Witch. I had heard of it in passing with the circle of people I tend to hang out with (weirdos) but had never been. My brother started doing his usual poo pooing the place, saying, I don't know why we have to go here and that he wouldn't like it and I knew it was going to be good because he was doing this and in the past every place we end up, he ends up loving and this was the case this time as well. The place is dark and foreboding when you first walk in (This is a good thing) It feels very gothic... Strange Macabre pictures, potions and taxidermy scatter the place, you walk pass one room with Tables and chairs and a fireplace and into a larger room with booths, tables (The booth tables move which is good) and this is where the main bar is and where we met Jessie, the bartender, a true delight to deal with. Amazingly fun personality and told her it was our first time and felt very comfortable and welcomed by her. I ordered 50 shades of Grey Witch and my brother got a mocktail, Bubble Bubble Toil & Trouble, he liked his drink and I LOVED MY DRINK. It does come with a Burnt Marshmallow for my Vegan friends, while I did not eat it, I am glad I didn't know because the smell of the burnt Marshmallow filled the glass and every sip had that burnt taste. Went to an event at Grey Witch. Think fraternity house meets goth bar but with better alcohol and less beer smell. It was a busy night but the bartenders handled it with efficiency. The pizza looks like a giant sicillian with plentiful toppings. The drinks are posted on the board. I loved the sitting room where people were playing magic the gathering. Grey Witch is awesome! If you're looking for a bar that's basically the Red Dwarf, but spooky, this is it. Affordable drinks and a sizable beer list? Check Friendly and fast service? Check Killer pizza? Check Killer vibe? Check A good size live music venue that books good bands? Check Speakeasy hidden inside? (Maybe) I know my photos are lacking in this review, but I was enjoying myself too much to take a lot of photos. The decor is spooky, nice dim lighting and a few TV's playing random old movies. The drinks, service and food you know and love from Red Dwarf is a huge plus. Who doesn't like $12 cocktails and a solid Detroit style pizza?? I'm glad that there's enough space for a stage and music venue here too. The LV Valley needs more small-to-midsize music venues so I'm stoked to have another to support. Went to Grey Witch for a friend's birthday party on a Saturday night. My family had no further Thanksgiving plans heading into the weekend and my out of state family won't travel 2,000+ miles cross country to visit us, so my schedule was clear for this party. I met my group in a hidden back area of the bar which can't be seen at first upon entering. My friend's party was 70's themed, so nearly all of us were dressed up in our best 70's attire with 70's goodie bags given to all of us, which was very awesome. The couch that I was sitting on was so comfortable that I thought I was going to fall asleep on it. Many folks in my group had the Fifty Shades of Grey...Witch cocktail, while I had the Elegant Afternoon cocktail. The Fifty Shades cocktail included vodka, coffee, and a toasted marshmallow on top. The Elegant Afternoon cocktail included vodka, a few unknown spices that I didn't taste, and was topped with dried/dehydrated citrus. When I have my car on me, I try not to drink too much and I pace myself slowly, so I think I had only maybe half of my drink. And if you like Detroit-style pizza, you are in for a real treat, because they have that here! I ordered their "Meatsa Meatsa" (say that in the well known Little Caesar's voice lol) just before we entered the venue. Our waiter told me that the pizza prep/cook time would be about 25 minutes and that he would bring it to me inside the venue once it was ready. This pizza was excellent and it had that hint of brown sugar inside, which was not too excessive. To enter the venue, you need to purchase a ticket. It was $10 originally but I waited until the last minute to purchase mine, which increased to around $12 the day of. No glass is allowed inside the venue, either, so if you plan to bring your drink in, you will need to dump it into a plastic cup upon entry. That night's performer was a DJ (I don't remember his name) that spun several hits from the 80's, 90's, and the early 2000's, and he was terrific! The show began at 7:00pm and I was there until 10:00pm, where we all had a fun time dancing and singing along to our favorite tunes. I really enjoyed this place! Pizza - 5/5 I got the Italian Job and my friend ordered the Meatza Meatza. We both finished our pizzas on the spot and immediately started talking about coming back the next day to try something new (he actually did)! The pizzas are personal-sized, which was perfect. Interesting experience for sure. We had never tried Detroit style pizza before so it was our first time and we loved it! Their pizzas are small, good for one person. It's square shaped and cut in half. They are $15. We tried the pineapple and Italian pizzas and both were good although we liked the pineapple better. The vibes in here are absolutely adorable. Super witchy which definitely fits the theme it felt like you were going into an apothecary almost. We sat with a big group in the front section on the couches and although it was a little loud to hear each other talk, it was terrible. Our server was great and kept coming to check on us quite a bit. They had a ton of fun seasonal cocktails for very cheap! For drinks I got the Guilded curiosity which was delicious and the witch please - also good. Very cool, "upscale" dive bar! The inside is nothing you'd expect from the outside. The theming is very fun - similar to dark sister (arts district) but here you don't have to pay for parking. They had ~20 beers on tap. I'm not sure how often they change what they have, but I really enjoyed the variety! Pretty standard pricing, $7-8 for a beer. Cocktails were available too. They have a few bar snacks & pizza - vegan cheese is an option! This bar is non-smoking (yay) and smelled fresh. A rarity for a dive bar. One thing to keep in mind is the bathrooms. There was no TP in the women's and I started to panic. Then I realized the roll was sitting on the back of the tank - crisis averted. Still thinking about that pizza and it's absolute perfection. It came from the forest could only be made better if it was organic/regenerative and free of things I avoid in every day life. Outside of that it's heaven. The flavors blend so well. I had leftovers I heated to crisp gloriousness and added more truffle oil. To back it up, I had a wing craving and the original place I planned to go to closed earlier than I thought. I saw PB& J wings on the menu and was sold. Having no idea this was a bar, I was calling, trying to order ahead. Ya no lol. I wasn't far so I headed over It was Saturday night so it was jumpin. I waited a few mins at a pretty busy bar. A nice guy helped me. I did the pbj wings and he said the mild wings weren't too spicy. I asked how long the pizza would take as it was after 10. He said about 25 minutes. I'm hemmed and hawed and he sold it. Brought me a soda water for the wait. The vibe is cool, reminds me of places I used to go when I drank and went out. Alternative, dark, loud, fun. My food came out a little sooner in this cute little boxes. I opened them in the car and saw the mild wings had Bleu cheese instead of ranch so I went back in. The bartender gave me 2 and I was on my way. I do my best to try foods when they're hot and fresh as intended. The pbj wings looked sticky and not for the car but I did have a mild wing. It was perfectly cooked though despite what the guy helping me said it was on the spicy side. Now for the pizza! It was everything it said on the menu and more! Herbaceous, flavorful, delicious buttery crust, tart, slightly salty, all in one. I couldn't wait to eat more and I found myself taking another bite of it before I got home. So great this place recommended us to try! This place reminded me of a couple of bars at the arts district- unique, vibes, and amazing cocktails. We had wings (bourbon bbq sauce), 2 pizzas, and two drinks. The wings are off the hook-although according to the owner peanut butter jelly wings is fantastic, will need to come back to try. My pizza was good, but what threw me off was the apple slaw 4/5 stars because I'm not a fan of apple sauce but certainly has a strong punch after eating your pizza. Portion of these pizzas are great, I did cut mine in half to enjoy it since it was messy. But my handsome had no issues with his. 5/5 stars. Wow, the look and feel of this place inside definitely didn't match the plain outside! Def Insta-worthy (sorry, I didn't take pics). The parking lot is pretty small for the number of businesses in the center, but since this is the only evening business open, it was fine at 9-something PM on a Saturday. There's a small standing music venue connected where bands perform, and I heard they're adding a speakeasy... BUT the highlight for me was the pizza! The photos don't do it justice, but I tried the It Came From the Forest and Pineapple Party. They look thick and dense, but they're actually airy (if that makes sense) with a crispy crust. The flavors really do complement each other. I found myself saying "mmm" the whole time. So this is a sister property to the Red Dwarf and Fat Catz if you didn't know. The atmosphere is definitely Goth and dark and a good size bar. The food, the pizza is fantastic! If you've had Red Dwarfs, you know what I'm talking about. It's that delicious Detroit deep dish with the crispy edges. Warning.....‼ if you are used to the size pizzas at Red Dwarf don't be shocked when these come out smaller. They are like 5"x5" square. So if there's a few of you, you're gonna need to get a few pizzas. They do offer the pizza party for $77! It's one of each pizza plus a plain cheese. Also, the pizza flavors here are different than the pizza flavors at the red dwarf. We ordered the Italian job which is prosciutto, fig, jam, arugula, goat, cheese, and pepper. Very tasty! We also ordered the babe which was bomb! Barbecue pulled pork, candied jalapeños, pickled red onions, and apple slaw! Fantastic! Highly recommend! Coming back for the "it came from the Forrest!" Now, to the hidden speakeasy. (I'm not gonna tell you how to get into it, you'll just have to check out my pictures). They used to only take reservations for the speakeasy, but now it's open to the public at 4 PM depending on if they have live bands in the back or not. So you'll have to find out prior. Quite an extensive liquor selection along with a very large tobacco selection for pipe smoking (they sell pipes there $10- $100+). They have cigars that you can buy, and you can also bring in your own cigars. We bought a couples. The old fashioned cigar cutter was pretty neat to see. The drink menu was quite eclectic. Some of the drinks boggled my mind at the ingredients in them. I'll be back to try them. But it's worth a shot at trying! I had the Goodbye Blue Monday. Frosted flakes vodka and frosted flakes cream with a golden syrup and lemon. Not gonna lie I did not like it! I think the lemon killed the whole thought of the drink being sweet and tasty. If you like Detroit style pizza, or have been wanting to try it, this is a spot to check out. This place originally got on my radar for the unique name, and then I found out they were affiliated with Red Dwarf, another spot I've heard good things about and have been meaning to check out. The opportunity finally presented itself when my book club decided to read Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman and Grey Witch was aligned with the theme. I heard from a friend that the location was loud and busy, so reached out to their social media account to see if they could accommodate our group. I was put in touch with an owner who was friendly and helpful, but note that they do not take reservations. We were able to get in midday on a weekend without hassle and the front room had plenty of open space for us to meet. The bartender came out to us to provide menu, take orders, and check on us throughout out visit - they were very attentive. The decor is an eclectic and cozy mix of chairs and couches, with stained glass and garden-themed decor including birds, plants, and butterflies - unexpected but really went with the vibe of our meeting. I also really appreciate that it is a nonsmoking bar/venue! I tried the build your own pizza with mushrooms, along with their house chips with zesty house seasoning (good for sharing) with French onion and queso dips. Food was fresh, everything came out around the same time, and everyone raved about the pizza - only bummer was that they were out of the It Came From the Forest pie I'd planned to try (the only option without pork), but that's just a reason to return. This location is part bar, part restaurant, and also serves as a music venue so if you want to have a group gathering it is best to go earlier in the day. The dining room is open to all ages til 10PM, per their website. I would note that it is rather loud there and the music level was inconsistent, some times it was more difficult to hear one another, but we made it work. Absolutely fantastic venue and just what Henderson needed. By the people who brought you Red Dwarf, Henderson welcomes Grey Witch, part restaurant, part bar, part venue, all whimsy. Their kitchen is slinging the same delicious Detroit-style pizza as Red Dwarf, among their other specialties. The motif is dungeons and dragons, witches lair meets downtown punky Seattle, at least that's what it reminded me of. Whatever it is, I loved it. In the back they e got a nice sized music venue, maybe 200-400 people? Not sure, but Henderson definitely needed a locals venue. Can't wait to come jam to some more shows! read more

This might be one of the best pizzas I've had in a really long time. Took my daughter who is visiting here to try it and Jessie was working the bar and she gave us a tour of the place. Live music, cigar/pipe room. Anyone who compares Jets pizza to this is crazy. Jets is good....this place is next level!! I got pepperoni and daughter got the white pie. read more

SUCH a vibe! Love the decor and overall ambience. Night life in Vegas can be rowdy depending on where you go, but this is a good balance of being able to socialize without feeling overwhelmed by the noise, lights, and people at other bars. There was a live band playing and a market present, but there was a cover charge of $10 to be in that room. Our group ordered the 6 pizza deal for $77, which included all their specialty pizzas plus a cheese pizza. Great deal honestly. My fav pizza was "It came from the forest". Highly recommend if you love mushrooms and truffle!!! Also, all their drinks on tap are nicely priced at around $4-8 each!! Crazy to see good prices for alcohol in Vegas. Only downside is parking. The lot was full when we came on a Friday around 6PM so we parked on the street a little way down and walked, which wasn't bad at all. Check this bar out!!
