We had a good experience with BD Experience (or "BDExperience"), a business line of Best Day Travel Group, based in Cancun. I'm surprised to see an average 2.2-star Yelp rating for this business (137 reviews), at the time of writing this review. Our experience was a solid four stars. Side note: Based on some of the pictures here, I'm also surprised to see that Best Day Travel hosted what appeared to be an official Yelp event back in March 2016. My wife and I booked a vacation package to Grand Velas Riviera Maya resort, located in Playa del Carmen, through Costco Travel. As part of that package, BD Experience was our ground transportation between Cancun International Airport and the resort. The arrival and departure transfers went well. Both ways, we were safely and efficiently transported in nice, air-conditioned, private vans with music. Each way, it was just us and a dedicated driver. Getting from the airport to Grand Velas took about 45 minutes. The return trip from Grand Velas to the airport took less time, about 35 minutes. Upon arrival to Cancun and exiting the airport, it was very easy to spot the BD Experience employees holding Costco Travel signs. There were many BD Experience employees, wearing red shirts, and BD Experience branded vehicles. This appeared to be a popular service with a lot of American customers waiting in groups, clustered near the vans. We waited about 5-10 minutes outside before we were led to a van, our luggage loaded in, and on our way. Going to the resort, we rode in a BD Experience branded van. Going back to the airport, we were picked up in a sleek, luxurious, black Mercedes van. Both drivers were great. One of the drivers spoke very little English while the other spoke good English. Communication with BD Experience was done via WhatsApp. I mostly messaged with BD Experience's business account at +52 998 321 5963. I also messaged with Hugo Figueroa regarding our departure confirmation. I had a pleasant experience with Hugo. We had a good laugh about my WhatsApp profile picture with "Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Woooo! But seriously, everything with BD Experience went smoothly. Pickup times and other details were well communicated in advance. We had no issues. Bring cash to tip your driver. I suggest $5-10 USD each way. Tip more if you have a larger party with lots of luggage. Avoid BD Experience -- Especially If You're Traveling with Kids or Want a Stress-Free Trip We recently traveled to Cancun and booked BD Experience as part of a Travelocity package. I strongly advise avoiding this company if you're traveling with children or simply want a smooth, reliable experience. To confirm your shuttle, you're required to reach out to BD Experience about 24 hours in advance -- but they don't make it easy. You have to contact them through WhatsApp Business, and even then, they redirect you to a different number because the first one supposedly has issues. I followed the instructions and confirmed our arrival. No one ever reached out to me directly. Upon arrival in Cancun, we located their kiosk and were told to wait 30 minutes. Eventually, we -- along with several other groups -- were shuttled to our resorts without issue. The problems began the day before our return flight. I messaged them to confirm our pickup, only to be told that our booking only included a one-way trip to the resort. This was incorrect -- my itinerary clearly showed a round-trip transfer. I even sent them a screenshot as proof. Still, they insisted I contact Travelocity to obtain specific voucher numbers. After wasting time tracking those down, BD Experience finally acknowledged our round-trip booking. I requested a 10:00 AM pickup for our 1:00 PM flight. They refused, saying we had to leave at 9:00 AM because another guest was scheduled at that time and we'd have to share the shuttle. This change effectively cut short our last day -- our kids couldn't even use the pool before leaving. We were ready in the lobby by 8:30 AM. Multiple shuttle drivers arrived and called out guest names, but no one ever called ours. By 9:10, still no driver. I messaged BD Experience -- no reply. Ten more minutes went by. I asked the Hilton staff for help. One kind employee tried calling BD Experience (he speaks Spanish), but they didn't answer. At 10:14 AM, an hour after our scheduled pickup, BD finally responded via WhatsApp saying the driver was there and we weren't -- a complete lie. They didn't even attempt to send another vehicle, just told me to contact Travelocity for a refund. At that point, we were stranded with two small kids and no ride to the airport -- and already late. Thankfully, the Hilton staff stepped up. One of the lobby attendants (guy in a black t-shirt -- please thank him!) called us a taxi, which cost us $60 USD. We barely made it to the airport on time. If I hadn't insisted on leaving early, we might have missed our flight -- with a 3- and 5-year-old in tow. Can you imagine missing your flight, having to rebook last-minute, possibly being separated from your children during seating? Travelocity -- why are you partnering with a company that provides such unreliable service? BD Experience -- you caused us stress, wasted our time, and left us scrambling with young kids. What could improve well let's start with you could have picked us up as scheduled. We paid for transportation to and from our hotel, Hotel Xcaret. It was not good. The are saying they were there to pick us up but they were in fact not. They had the information needed (flight and hotel) and their site showed the pickup time when I checked the QR code they provided. We were at the same place they dropped us off at 15 minutes earlier than the time it showed we were scheduled to be picked up and waited 45 minutes. I never received a call and they do not provide any way to contact them. My suggestion is to find someone else who is willing to at least call and provide contact information in case there is a problem or concern. This is the Costco provider. read more

Take the taxis! There are plenty of cars and drivers. When you walk out of the airport there are plenty of people saying that they can give you a taxi and take it! It will be a short ride. Terrible service, we waited so long to come to our resort from the airport (seems like they overbook and had many people waiting around an hour in the heat at the airport in cancun) and our transportation to the airport seems to be nonexistent as they have not shown up and wont answer. I dont know why this company is highly rated on expedia. Do not book with them. ~ UPDATE ~ Got a hold of a customer service representative over the phone and they lied claiming that a shuttle showed up and our resort did not let them in. I asked how that could be and why they did not contact us and they replied saying that they did not have any way to contact us. We asked the resort front desk if this was true and they said they never had a BD shuttle show up at the hotel or ask for us. They also had been texting AND emailing us to confirm our departure from the hotel, so they most definitely had our contact information. This is a review of the travel advisor that was based at a resort where we were staying. Fabian was very informative and helpful with deciding which excursion to go on. He provided us with a lot of information prior to the trips, like what to wear and how it works. He also gave us clear and complete information about who would pick us up and what we needed to present. He made it easy for my family and I to decide to book an excursion. We stayed at the Princess Sunset Resort, an although the resort is not top notch the service from Fabian made up for it. Would definetly recommend. Travel from airport to hotel was chaotic and unorganized. Sat there for a long time with others waiting for cars and then they didn't even know who was in which car. Working with slips of paper. Travel from hotel to airport was non existent. We confirmed the date and time the day before, had a reservation, paid in advance and they didn't have room for everyone. This is about integrity - the lack of integrity and theft of our driver is not something I would falsify. It's unfortunate that BD Travel did not believe their valued customer - which was my daughter and I. Our grey Under amour bag was returned to us at Occidental at Xcaret but the driver stole $56 USD from my daughters wallet. We did not count the money we had in our wallet in front of the driver when the driver returned the bag. We NEVER thought the driver would have stole cash from our wallet. We trusted that the driver had integrity but he did not. BD hires drivers that do not have integrity. We were happy our bag was returned and we even tipped the driver after he returned the bag - but the fact that he stole money from my daughters wallet was unacceptable. This was not a usual BD employee that dropped us off on Friday August 9, 2019, at the Occidental at Xcaret. BD outsources their transportation when they get too busy and unfortunately we were "outsourced" by BD. If you're booking through a travel agency ask who they use for their transportation company or if you are at a resort - don't use BD travel. They are not a company that has integrity. read more

We were on vacation, and the transfer from the airport to the hotel was good, but we never got a transfer from the hotel to the airport. I called customer service, and the agent told us to use Uber and send the receipt, given that we were about to miss our flight. I did everything as you specified but never got the refund. I would never recommend this company and would not use it again. read more

Find another company. I hope Costco stops using them because they are not professional at all. We booked a Chichinitza tour with BD last week. They told us the tour would have us back by 4 pm, we arrived in our hotel at 8. NOT ok to waste our time on vacation. Our driver Raul was a skilled driver, very professional. He was however driving like a maniac and speeding through the rain. Our tour guide Ulysses "Uli" was very unprofessional and inappropriate. He gave a whole speech of how we should not buy from the local vendors in the Chichinitza because the money would go straight to the owners of Chichinitza. Instead, he recommended for us to do our shopping at the store where the restaurant is located. He said it would go directly to the local community. He did NOT tell us however that we would be charged MUCH more at the restaurant store. His name was on our receipts so it was obvious he was getting some kickbacks from the store owners at the restaurant. The worst part came during the end. He gave a speech and asked for tips because they worked very hard during the day for us, insisted that Raul had to get up at 4 pm to get the car and pick up Ulysses from his house. Ulysses stated he had to get up at 5 am to get ready for his day to make sure he was ready to give us a nice experience. Sir, tip for you. Getting up at 4 or 5 am to get ready for work is NORMAL and a part of your job. It's called being an adult and what we all do when we are not on vacation. It's what WE ALL do as working adults. Horrible! Airport transfers were provided through this company to and from the hotel. Getting assistance at the airport was great but it quickly went down from there. The drop off driver made sure to tell me a tip was not included in the transfer. That was an immediate turnoff. The return driver was very unfriendly and dropped me off at the wrong terminal. When I requested assistance through the app letting them know no one responded. I went to another best day driver that was dropping off and explained that the previous driver dropped me off at the wrong terminal and he told me to get on the free airport shuttle. We used BD Travel for airport transfer (via Costco) and they were prompt and friendly! Wasn't expecting the ability to book excursions through them, but when we arrived they pointed us to an app where we could communicate with a designated agent who would help us with any excursions. We'd already booked trips through other sites for this trip, but when I go back in February I will use them. It's worth the extra money to eat a private transfer and not have to worry about how far down the list you are for hotel drop offs. Complete scam of a company. Left us stranded at the hotel without a way back the airport. My flight got canceled because of the tropical storm and rebooked for the next day. Ok things happen. So I immediately messaged BD and said I can't go the the airport today and would provide my new flight info when I had it. I texted them this information over and hour before I was to be picked up at 12:55 When I tried to arrange pickup to go to the airport for the next day they refuse to come get me. Said I was a no show?!?!? How am I a no show I messaged you AND you received that message an hour before you were to pick me up. All I wanted them to do was honor the contract pickup and drop off but they can't handle that. I will Be doing a charge back on my card as they refuse to do a refund as well. We traveled with Best Day Travel as part of a Costco travel package and were very disappointed. Transportation from the airport to the hotel was fine. However, after MULTIPLE confirmations on our end for the return transportation back to the airport, we were not picked up at the correct location. We had showed proof MULTIPLE times to multiple people that our pick-up location was to be changed. However, on the morning of, we were not picked up. Our attempts to contact BDT were unsuccessful. Our hotel concierge had to attempt to call them, in which case they told us that we were SOL and had to find our own ride. Luckily, our concierge was persistent and was able to get them to send someone to pick us up. Our first driver was wonderful; very interactive and a safe driver, and a great way to start our trip. Our second driver, however, left a lot to be desired. Minimal interaction, essentially ignored us until he asked us to fill out a survey and give him a tip. Left a bad taste in my mouth; I do not recommend BDT to anybody. read more

Arrived last night at 757pm. Got out to the area they made us download their app to book our return shuttle and then we waited 1 and a half hours for our shuttle. No communication from employees. We kept asking they said oh we don't have shuttles 20 minutes maybe. We were literally the last people at the airport. Our hotel is 10 minutes from the airport. How can you not have shuttles if you have clients booked arriving on the last flight in? If they were upfront we would have taken a cab. No apologies either by the way. B(a)D experience. Also on return they said they would do pick up 3 hrs prior to flight! I've never left that early leaving from an an Airport outside the US. We were not told that you had to alter the return transfer within 24 hours of ARRIVAL although we didn't have our reservation number to look anything up. After a nine year hiatus, I've now been to Mexico twice since the beginning of the year. Both times I have used Best Day Travel for my transportation to and from where I was going and had great experiences. My first time while heading to a private house in Playa del Carmen, they got a little lost trying to find where I was going but we made it there eventually. The second time around, I was heading to a more popular resort in Cancun and it was a lot smoother. They even had a travel desk at the hotel with representatives each day to make sure that you had the proper return shuttle, as well as help with any other questions. We didn't book any tours but they do offer those as well. The shuttles themselves are nice and roomy, and the driver could even activate wifi for the journey. If you book the group shuttle, know that you will probably stop at least once on the way to grab other passengers at different hotels. They make sure you have plenty of time, picking you up at least three hours before your flight which can be excessive but I get it. My roundtrip this time around was $29 which is way cheaper than you will find with a cab. I had my group of ten girls book this way too and no one had an issue! read more

We booked Best Day to get from the airport to our hotel and they made a pitch to sell us on some other excursion packages they had. We bought one for Chichen Itza. The transportation was very good. The driver was timely and the bus was clean and airconditioned. Several people took the bus with us and we were dropped off individually to our respective hotels. Conversely when we were leaving, we were the first to be picked up and went around picking up others before we ended at the airport. The Chichen Itza tour took first took us to a cenote where we could swim and walk around the area. Then we drove to an area for lunch, which was included in the price of the ticket, and shopping. The place we ate at did charge for drinks and only accepted cash, which we did not think to bring. Thankfully one of the other tourists generously covered our drink bill. The last stop was Chichen Itza where we split into two tours: one led in Spanish and one in English. The English one was academic in nature and the guide gave us lots of interesting history tidbits that were unrelated but fun, in addition to a plethora of information about Chichen Itza itself. read more

Even after I bought round trip , they didn't want to take us to hotel since all of our party didn't fly with us and decided not to come due to sickness. We took another bus through the Best Day travel to visit a water park and that was not as great . We used Best Day (BD Travel) twice, both on our Cancun vacations. The first time was booked through Costco. The second time, I went online and arranged for round trip shuttle transport from CUN to our resort. I also booked a tour to Tulum from them. I found their drivers punctual and safe. They all wear a uniform with BD Travel on it so you can pick them out easily. One area for improvement would be for them to give you the return trip info immediately. Instead, they request that you confirm in at your hotel with their local BD Travel Rep. I thought it was just a trick for them to push tours to you, but apparently not - they had a different pickup time for me vs. what I requested online. Good thing I double checked with United again, after which they gave me the return shuttle ticket with the correct pickup time. BTW - if you have to call United or any other airline - Mexico blocks calls to the 1-800 numbers to the USA. Therefore I called the Mexican United number. Google is your friend here. They put you on hold a while but the rep does speak English and was very helpful! read more

I booked our trip to Cancun through Costco Travel and Best Day Travel was provided to us for transportation to and from the airport at no extra charge. I made sure to print out the itinerary with the confirmation and they were easy to find after exiting the airport. Checking in was easy and they took us to the hotel with no problems or long wait times. Pick up from the hotel to the airport was on time and friendly as well. I also liked that they had a representative at the hotel if we chose to book excursions during our trip. Everyone was friendly and helpful and I did not feel pressured to book any excursions with them. I would definitely recommend them for any future trips to Cancun. read more

We booked our tour to Coba and Tulum while staying a the Secrets Capri Riviera Maya. The gentleman who assisted us, Rafael Cisneros Mendez explained all the tours to us and helped us book an amazing tour through Go Natural. Rafael was very friendly, attentive and outgoing. We also booked out transport by Bestday from airport to hotel and back through Triple A. Both our drivers were very friendly as well as being prompt. We bought transportation to and from airport with BD from Costco website. No issues during drop-off to hotel but during pickup for airport, they insisted to pickup 12:35pm for 5:50pm flight and airport is only about 20mins from hotel. I made several requests (in last 2-3 days, not just on the pickup date) to pickup later 2:30-3:30p. First they asked for screenshot for 5:50p flight and after sharing it, they keep insisting to pickup at 12:35pm due to "busy season" excuse. Worse part was that they had their representative in same hotel dropping off around 2:30pm and I asked him if he can take our family to airport. He did called main office to help but main office said that he can't pick us even though he dint had any other passengers to drop off and went empty van back to airport as we were categorized as no-show. Dont use them! Just came back from trip to Cancun - BD Travel was the shuttle service recommend in our bookit.com reservation. Made arrangement in person to pick us up 11:30 am at hotel for our flight. 11:45 - still nothing - asked our concierge to contact them - after quite a bit of trouble getting hold of somebody - they said driver will be there in 3 min - only at 11:55 arrived - when ask the driver why so late - referred to his company and say nothing he could do - cherry on top - he still needed to go to another resort to pick up some more guests. Bottom line - if you pay close $120 dollars for the 4 of us to prevent something like this, and still end up with this terrible service, will not recommend them to anyone, read more

I booked a package trip including round trip flight and Hotel hrough BestDay prior to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Due to hardships caused by Covid, I had to cancel my trip. I called their customer # MULTIPLE times in May but I would literally be on hold for at least 2 hrs without anyone answersering the phone . No matter what time of the day I called the hold was over 2 hrs!! I was getting concerned that this company was none-existant and so I decided to call back and press the "book a trip" option and not to my surprise I was on hold for only 3 MINUTES before someone answered my call. I am fluent in Spanish so I spoke to the agent in Spanish. He basically said he couldn't help me and I had to speak to the department that had me on hold for over 2 hours. On 5/25 I finally got through after waiting for 2.5 hrs and the agent could only refund me the hotel for $470 but said I had to call back closer to my departure date, like 6/5 to get a credit for the flights. I have called back 5 times since June 5th and have been placed on hold for over 2 HOURS each time....once I hung up after being on hold for 3hours !!! Now I am so worried that they are going to keep my $1,200 and not even give me a credit because I haven't been able to get in to speak to a live agent. Dear fellow American Citizens, if you don't want to suffer what seems like "Purgatory on Earth" waiting for what seems an eternity for someone to answer your call and in top of that, listen to the same annoying tune get played over and over again every 10 secs for 3 hours and still have no one answer your call, I suggest you DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. If God forbid you needed to make changes to your itinerary, you will be in for a long, painful, and torturous wait and possibly lose all your money. If you book with Best Day, be ready for the following: 1. Waiting about 30-45 minutes once you arrive at their booth outside the airport for them to figure out your paperwork and get you on a shuttle. 2. Them not giving you your pick-up time once you arrive at the airport, like it says on their website. Instead, you have to call-in, wait about 15-30 minutes on hold, for them to give you your pick up time. 3. No wifi on the bus as promised 4. If your flight is delayed, you have to call in to get a new pick up time. If it is delayed for less than two hours, they will not change your pick up time, so be ready to spend extra time at the airport when you could have just spent it at the hotel and gotten a taxi at your own leisure. We will be taking a taxi back to the airport since our flight was delayed, and we don't want to spend 4 hours at the airport. Seriously, stay away read more

I know your more seasoned travelers would maybe take a bus, rent a car or get a taxi but honestly I just felt safer doing it through Costco's, a company I trust. I wish I could give zero stars. Not because of the excursion, necessarily, but because of the service. I am so angry!!! The travel agent acted so nice, and wrote down our pick up location for 8:35am. Long story short, we ran around the resort all morning because he wrote down a location that is literally IMPOSSIBLE for the shuttle to get to. THEY LEFT US. But it gets worse folks! They attempted to LIE and tell us they were at the location and we were not and that we lost our $225. Our concierge at the hotel thankfully backed us up and called them to tell them the shuttle WAS NOT THERE and it wasn't even possible. So we decided to go the next day because they wouldn't issue a refund. The excursion was okay. They didn't give us any info before though, which led to a lot of confusion.
