I have three dogs and it's very difficult to find friends who will watch them for me. We have had to resort to boarding them when we travel which was really hard. I'm admittedly a crazy dog mom who wants the best for her fur babies. I've taken my dogs here 4 times already and I'm so happy I found this place. First though, I'd like to start off with the cons: Every time I come to pick up my dogs, I'm saddened because they didn't miss me. The pros: My dogs don't miss me. The most recent time I dropped them off I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye because my dogs were ready to go! The front desk lady was even trying to hold them back so I could smooch them but they wanted nothing to do with me. They were ready for their own vacation. First time using this facility. The staff was friendly. We got an email with a picture of our pups while we were away which was nice. It's a bit expensive almost $50 a night but our dogs need traditional (non social) boarding which is hard to find in the area. We paid for a bath on pick up day (which was also expensive for a basic bath) but the dogs still smelled like "boarding" when we got them home. They give report cards at pick up which is a very nice extra. Overall a happy experience. read more

So allow me to get personal with this review. I haven't become so attached to another living thing since I met my wife, but my dog is basically my daughter. Last minute plan change on the 4th of July forced us to board her for an entire week. Me being the tough guy I am (if you knew me personally, you'd be laughing right now) meant that this was strictly the way things were and there wouldn't be need for emotion...but I cried like a baby when we dropped her off. Nothing about the establishment brought in on...I just already missed her that much already. The place was clean and loved the location (right on a lake...good for walks). We purchased play times and walks every day we were gone, including a bath on the last day (and I think some turkey flavored ice cream or something too). I fought the temptation to call every day to check on her and just figured that she would tell us how her stay was in her own fuzzy way. When we arrived to pick her up, we were pleasantly surprised to find they had washed all of her bedding and toys that we brought from home and had complete "report cards" from her activities. We payed for the week (a few issues on that below) and they brought her out. Granted we were as excited to see her as she was to see us, but the big test came when we got home. I'd noticed some significant behavior differences in the past after boarding, but this time it was like we never left. I could easily say that that was just her getting used to staying in a puppy hotel every once in a while, but the transition was so seamless, I couldn't help but credit Best Friends. Billing wise was a bit of an issue. Given the "firedrill" manor of our reservation, I wasn't surprised that there was a bit of confusion, but quotes over the phone didn't match what was online and especially didn't match the final bill. The good (great) news was that the bill turned out to be significantly less than we had anticipated. There were a few discounts included for the length of the stay and a few extras that we bought. It didn't seem like anyone really knew what to charge us, but luckily we ended up in the green. For a franchise, I was pleasantly surprised. read more

I very much misread the website and pictured my dog in a room with a glass window, blankie and cot so I was taken aback to see a housing situation that represented a jail cell amongst barking dogs, BUT I know my dog enjoyed the doggie door access outside and was plenty comfortable. I don't think he minded the dog company seeing as he is not socialized. Also LOVE the haircut they gave to my boy and have to bring him back next groom. Will also bring him back for overnights on my next trip. He is not easy to deal with and I'm happy he is welcome here. You do only get 1 free update picture while pet is away, have to pay more if you're gone awhile and would like more. read more

My dog loves this place, so I love this place!! We have used their boarding services and their grooming services. I love that they have indoor/outdoor kennels for the doggies, and they're a really good size. You can bring your own blankets and toys, but they do supply a blanket that they change out daily. They've never lost any of the toys etc. that we bring with, unlike other kennels we've gone to before. The staff are all very friendly and all seem to truly love animals. The manager has a home on site, so there is someone there 24 hours a day. The prices are very reasonable and they always give you comment cards to fill out to get a day free next time!! And best of all, they email you a picture of your pet while you're away that says how much they miss you! Soooo cute :) read more

My family and I boarded our cat and dog at Best Friends in mid June. The staff was wonderful. I have a geriatric dog that is very shy. She never eats well when boarding. I did a pre walk through with Katie and knew I choose the right place. Katie went over all the details of boarding, feeding, and laundry. She encouraged me to bring treats to entice my Abby to eat. And let me know about their bed policy. The cat rooms are nice, kinda fish-bowl like but I love that all the cages have their own ventilation. I highly recommend a pre walk through prior to a prolonged stay! We picked up our pets on a busy morning but the staff was fantastic. I will board our pets their again when we go on our next trip. read more

Words cannot capture the excitement my boxer, Rocco, shows when its a weekday morning and I take my keys when we go on our walk. The keys means that he is going for a ride to Doggy Day Camp. He shakes his rear and walks in place, and can barely stay still enough for me to put his leash on him. We have come her about 10 times or so over the last few months. Living in an apartment, I know that Rocco would benefit from some play time with other friends. We did a tour of the place prior to having Rocco stay, and then we did a free half day to see how if he played nice in the sandbox. I was obsessed with watching him on the video that you can watch from anywhere. ( He IS a bit nosey, always getting in the middle of other dogs when they start to get antsy with each other)... but over all, it looks like he had fun and I was happy to see a human always in the room with them. We started buying 5 packs of stays because it saves us a little bit of money, and we know we are going to use them. The place is always being cleaned, the staff is ever so patient, and my 7 yr old dog seems younger now... but exhausted immediately after a day of play ( THANK YOU LOL) ... Called to inquire about boarding 2 dogs. Lady seemed aggravated that I did not want to include play time. Told me $31 a day. I asked is that per dog, oh yes per dog. I asked about the facility. was then given dimensions about the suite. asked if there was power in the unit for a radio or a night light. answer was no. she said it is pitch black at night. well one of my dogs is afraid of the dark. units do have ac. lady was not nice. read more

I had flawless service from start to finish. I called to gather information, as this was our first time eve mr boarding our dog. Sara gladly answered all my questions and she also helped with emailing me information so I was able to get all the necessary paperwork. Drop off was easy and quick. We received a progress report with a picture by email. This put me at ease. And lastly, pick up was quick as well. Gunner looked happy and felt so soft after his bath (which we gladly paid additional for) We also made additional reservations for another stay. Only thing I would personally do different is bring his own sleeping pillow. I know he loves that old thing and would probably like to sleep on his own pillow. Great staff! read more

I don't quite know where to start when writing this review but I guess I'll start at the beginning. We recently took our dog into Best Friends Pet Care for a normal grooming for our dog, Max. It was supposed to be a routine wash and cut for out little guy. Well, when I picked him up he was acting a little strange, he couldn't wait to get in the car and go home. Upon further inspection we noticed that he had a irritation between his legs where they shaved. Upon checking it even further we noticed that they had completely cut off a skin tag that he had from being fixed when he was at the shelter. The piece of skin was at least the size of a half nickel, so he must of bled. You think they would have said something to us when we picked him up, but NO they didn't. I understand that grooming a dog is probably a difficult task and that is why we leave it to the professionals, but it is not professional to cut a client and then ignore it. We called them the next day to ask for a refund or some compensation for the cut, but were denied a refund and only given the option to take our dog to the vet and that they would pick up the tab. The cut is not that severe, so we have him in a cone and have applied to topical ointment, but he is not acting like himself and will probably be at least 3-5 days before he'll be back to normal. He shows clear signs of discomfort and has trouble walking. The situation is beyond frustrating and we wouldn't be writing this review if they would have just been honest with us. read more

I left my dog here for 4 nights my dog was supposed to be groomed before she came home. She was also supposed to be fed 2 cups A-day one time a day I had measured out exactly that for them. She came home with more than half of her food still in her bag also none of her treats were opened her bone that was given to her for her to be able to chew on was never given to her she came back dirtier than she waz when she went in she was never groomed the notes that the lady said she would put in about what time she would be picked up so that the grooming could be done beforehand clearly never made it in there . I am truly disgusted and so dissatisfied with how my dog was Taken care of and treated in this facility. I trusted you guys to make sure that my dog was in a safe environment that she would be well taken care of and that I would not have to worry about her. Unfortunately that was not the case and I would never recommend you guys to anybody else for their pets read more

What a friendly staff!!! I went out of town for a few days and dropped off my pup. I missed a flight so he had to stay an extra night. Ive been using these guys for years now. I've never had a problem getting my dog a spot, even at the last minute. I love that I get a report card for my dog and a photo of her while she's there. This spot is a great all in one if you do grooming or need treats/toys. The staff are all friendly and seem to love their guests (our dogs). I only wished they were open earlier in the AM, later in the evening, and that their rewards program was more rewarding (it used to be better). read more

The check in process was easy and the staff was attentive to our dog's needs. Our puppy seemed very happy and well taken care of when we picked her up. My only complaint is that they didn't cover pricing and what we expected to pack. I accidentally found that information while searching through the website. I would not recommend this kennel. My dog was injured in their care, and they lied about it. We were notified in a phone call on the second day of our trip that our yorkiepoo was "bleeding pretty bad" from his tail. They claimed to have "found him that way" in his "bloody" cage, and that they had no idea how he was injured. At least they rushed him to the vet. The doctor later said we were lucky to save his tail, as his grooming had left a clear view of the wound. This was first told to our son (emergency contact only) because they misinformed the vet about our direct contact information. The vet's opinion was it wasn't an animal bite. It was quite obvious to us that they had slammed his tail into a door, nearly amputating it. They asked us if "he had a scab or something" when we brought him in, which was insulting and ridiculous. He is on anti-biotics, has to wear a cone and take pain meds still, 7 days later. He is skittish, untrusting and sad. Hopefully, he will perk up to some of his former self once the meds run out, and he gets some TLC at home. Tanya was rude and unhelpful, and never offered any apology, discount, or even an inquiry as to how the little man was doing. Their dishonest approach motivated this review, because this was no accident, and others should be aware of it when choosing a kennel for their family vacation. read more

I love this place!! Great customer service and great all the way around. I have boarded my puppy her for a 3 day weekend, I was so nervous to leave her since she was only 3 1/2 months old. She loved it! She was excited to see us of course, but she loves coming here. All the staff knows her when she walks in. We also are doing puppy training classes and the classes are amazing! I feel like I am going something good with my dog and a great way my husband and I can bond with her. Everyone should come here. You guys rock! read more

I had previously read a review about a dog having kennel cough here so when I first booked I asked specifically about it. They denied that any dogs were ill. I picked my dog up today and come to find out he's had a cough for a few days which I was only told about during pick up. They told my husband they had 80+ dogs over the holiday. I would not recommend this facility as it's obvious they can't handle the amount of dogs they're accepting and I don't want any other dogs to fall ill. read more

Best Friends was opening and more than willing to take care of my fur baby. They gave me updates of how he was doing and I even paid a little extra to give him playtime.
