WARNING!!!! LIARS!!!! I brought my 10 year old Husky here for a bath. My dog was return to me with a bleeding wound on the right side of her head that required surgery! I was not informed about the wound until after I paid in full. When I called to discuss what happened after my dogs surgery I was met with lies about what happened. The groomers argued on the phone denying they caused the injury. Then they claimed a towel did this to my dog. I was very disappointed on how poorly the situation was handled. The first red flag should've been that you are asked to wait in the parking lot while they bring your dog inside. I strongly suggest taking your dog elsewhere for a nail grinding. read more

They did a great job on trimming his nails, brushing him and gave him a great wash. The staff is wonderful. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. My family has been bringing our pups here for 15+ years now and we love them! So let me tell you a little story...I adopted a little shih tzu, Pippa, from a shelter in DC (because I live in DC now). My little girl clearly had some trauma in her life because she used to shake when people touched her and would never let the groomers cut her hair. We used to take her to DC groomers and pay upwards of $75 to cut her hair. You would think a bill like that hey would nail it!! Apparently my little Pip was too much for them to handle and they couldn't cut her hair. They still charged us. So one day while visiting my mom we decided to try Head to Tails. They did a phenomenal job and she always looks sooo cute and clean cut after!! Now we literally travel 3+ HOURS just so our little diva can have her hair cut here!! I took my first shih tzu (Blake) here for grooming for something like 15+ years ... even after I moved to NYC. We still trek down here with our new puppy Madeline. For those of you with dogs, you know what I mean when I say they're like family, and it's incredibly important that you trust the people that take care of them. Tracy is the owner of Head to Tails, and I have no reservations about leaving my "child" with her for a few hours of grooming TLC. The prices are also very reasonable. I think it's only gone up like $10 over nearly two decades! I haven't used their daycare services before but trust Tracy implicitly and would not hesitate to use them for that as well if I lived in the area. read more

I really love this place. I hated going to Pet Smart in Hamilton. Pet Smart baths and blow outs where not good. One groomer left the ear powder in my dogs ears and he had a horrible ear infection from it. Plus he never smelled freshly clean. Another time he needed to be totally recut because he was so lopsided. The manager was so annoyed at this groomer because the girl left and she had to redo it--. Not here--. This place is great. My dog looks awesome every time I pick him up from the groomers He smells clean and fresh and his blow out lasts a long time because they do a good job and it shows!! The facility is very clean and she takes a great effort to fulfil your every wish with getting your dog just perfect. This is such a great place to take the mutt! She comes home tired, happy, and races to get into the Dog Area as soon as she's out of the car. It's great socialization, the folks are just wonderful and it turns out to be a nice treat for us and for The Dog. We don't get "haircuts", but the bathing has been wonderful (whites whiter, spots darker!) and they do a fine job on claws. Terrific service and definitely Best in Class! read more

Head to Tails came highly recommended to us by family members who also take their pups there. After having a very bad experience at another grooming salon, we were nervous for our puppy to get another hair cut. After dropping him off at Head to Tails, I was very comfortable leaving him with his groomer. She came out to speak with us personally about how we wanted his hair done, and made us feel at ease about leaving him with her. He is a havanese/maltese mix, with very fine hair. My parents have two pomeranians that are VERY high energy and just have a ton of hair, and their haircuts always come out great as well. When we picked him up, we were very satisfied with the final product. It was a GREAT haircut in contrast to the other place we had gone to recently, and we are scheduled for our second appointment tomorrow. I highly recommend them! read more

I would not recommend Head to Tails Grooming. This was the first (and only) time that I will use their services. I too wanted to patronize a local shop, rather than a large chain. I spoke with them on the phone when I called for the appointment to provide explicit instructions: "Just a bath and blowout. DO NOT TRIM MY DOG!" Well. my husband dropped our fur-baby off to them the next day, he called me afterwards to tell me he did not get a good feeling about the woman he spoke to. Boy was he right. When he when to go pick her up, he was told that she had pooped while she was there and had tape worm. Hmmm, since there are no fleas on my dog nor was there any mention of fleas, I was very suspect. The second problem I had is that they has used scissors and a razor on the dog after I had left explicit instructions NOT TO TRIM MY DOG!!!.. Well guess what - it was a different dog who left them a present as Gracie has been tested by her Vet and does not have tape worm. read more

After grooming my poodle at Head to Tails for years, I came back with our cockapoo, Coco. Tracy and crew still ran a fine, well-established business, which includes doggie daycare. Amy, the scheduler is always welcoming and organized. She reminds us of appointments and calls us for pickup. Tracy still does excellent work, making Coco come out looking like a glamorous, poodle--so posh. Coco loves coming and the team tells me how much they enjoy having her there. read more

I wouldn't recommend their grooming services. I wanted to patronize a local business rather than a big chain, but I regret that now. They butchered my poor puppy during his first haircut. They did not follow my instructions to leave the hair around his face long. He also had razor marks on his wee wee. To make up for their error, they offered me a free wash and trim, which they told me only included a wash-and-brush, and a nail, foot-pad and bottom trim. And, although I told them NOT to cut his face, they nonetheless cut his face again when I took him for the free wash and trim. It's going to take FOREVER for his facial hair to regrow, and he is a long haired dog. read more

I took my small puppy there for grooming. He has not been the same since ( its been 4 days) Vet says he was cut and now its infected, they say it didnt happen there. Dropped off a fun happy puppy and picked up a very sick puppy... Would think twice about going there !!!!!! I will most likey never know what happened to him there. Very sad......:( read more

I have a collie and his coat is a handful. They always treat him nicely and he looks beautiful when I go to pick him up. He also seems calm and happy. Other experiences seem to stress him out. I feel like I trust them and that they treat him well behind that door. That's a big deal with a loved one that can't talk!. Best groomer in the area. read more

They have moved to their present location but still in Hightstown. They are really good and BUSY! You cannot get in on a Saturday unless you book 2 weeks out......even during the week it is busy. The groomers and owner of Head to Tails are real dog lovers! They treat my dog as though she were one of their own. I love that the space between grooming stations is larger than commercial retailers' with grooming services - my yorkie is more relaxed at Head to Tails... I have never done a review but after reading one of the reviews I have too! Head to Tails have been nothing but fantastic with my grand dog. I switch to them after a very unpleasant experience and that was over 2 years ago. Everyone from the front desk Amy to the owner Tracey and all of the staff especially Charlotte's favortie Jess have been the greatest. My dog can't wait to go back there in fact sometime I just drop her off for day care she comes home happy and the daycare girls are so good she may even come home more spoiled than she went. I have also brought my cat who no one touches and they have given her bath and nails with no problem. I have recommended this place to many many people and not one of them have any negitive feedback. So trust me and try this place you will be happy and so will your dog or cat. read more
