Personnel always courteous. Scheduling is never accurate- technician shows up hours late, often without an updated phone call. Technicians seem trained to "sell". They have never serviced without finding something that needed a pricey "fix" right away. I would not recommend. read more

SCAM! Similar experience to other reviewers. Before we moved into our house, my wife arranged Best Home Services to clean our ducts and our carpets after finding their coupon. The duct cleaner cleaned the ducts and then (afterwards) said we needed to pay an additional $500 for him to clean the fan in the heating unit, and he said that if we did not do this, then it render his cleaning ineffectual. I told him that had I known that beforehand, I would not have paid to have the ducts cleaned. The carpet cleaner showed up later. We had a package coupon for 3 rooms and a hallway. He said that this didn't include the "deep clean" (i.e. scrubbing to actually remove stains), and that our closet consisted of another room. I told him to pound sand and get lost. They hire losers and teach them to go in and get people on the hook (sunk costs), and then upsell them. A complete scam. I didn't like having such people in my home. read more

Made appointment 3. Technician was late when I called he said that he was too far away to come and that he did not receive the notice until 5pm that he had an appt at my house. 4. I recently used this service - it was not worth the money. I was sold a pet package on the phone for pet stains. The technician then up-sold me when he was in my home telling me that the pet package sprays for stains, doesn't scrub them - it's not really for getting stains out! I spent $125 and my carpets, while wet, looked vaccumed at best. All stains were the same when he left. I don't know what is in the machine he used but my at-home carpet cleaner does a better job. Albert was the technician who was supposed to come to my home between 11a and 2p on Sat 3/21. I was told the technician would call before arriving, but didn't. We went through each room and one of the rooms he refused to do. I asked if there will be a discount and he became upset and walked off the job without doing any work. I called his boss and he is sending another technician, but it will take another 2 hrs before he could come out. I am very disappointed in the unprofessional manner of the first technician just refusing to complete the work and being insubordinate to his boss who told him to complete the job. If he worked for me, he would be fired. The day is pretty much gone. I hope the second technician does a great job to salvage the reputation of this company. I should start by saying that I, personally, have never utilized the service that Best Home Services provides, but that has not stopped them from providing me with an EXCEPTIONALLY annoying experience. About a year ago, I started getting calls from out of the blue on my cell phone from an unknown number. The number would call during work hours, so it made it difficult for me to answer it and find out who I would be telling to leave me alone. Eventually, I was able to answer. The representative asked if I was satisfied with my carpet cleaning experience. I replied that I had never used their service before, and that I don't even OWN a carpet for them to clean. The representative paused, and asked "Is this not Mrs. Doris (Last name)?" I informed her that I am not that person, and that I would like very much to be taken off of their call list. She apologized, and informed me that their company only uses paper logs with which to telemarket, so removing my name would prove difficult for them. I told her to do it anyway, because I no longer wanted to be bothered by a company that I had no connection to whatsoever. After hanging up, I wondered what kind of business could possibly still exist that doesn't use any sort of computer at all for record keeping. Fast forward to now, and I am STILL getting WEEKLY calls from Best Home Services. I have had carbon-copy conversations of the one above with caller after caller from Best Home Services, with no progress whatsoever. After reading the other reviews on this page, I am not surprised that Best Home Services is so poorly rated (even MORE poorly rated now!). My advice WOULD be to avoid them at all costs, but, judging from what I've gone through, that might end up making NO difference at all. As a side-note, "Best Homes Services" is a crap name. Please do not use this service. I used Best Home Services in 2004, once. I also fell into the scam of a 3 room cleaning coupon in an attempt to get back my security deposit from the apartment complex. Upon arrival, the carpet cleaner told me that if he used his basic machinery on the heavy carpet stains, it would not lift them. Therefore he recommended I pay twice the amount I had expected and get the deep cleaning service. I told him I just wanted the service I requested. The stains came up and the carpet looked like new. It is now 2013, 9 years later, I have spoken with countless representatives, indicating that I wish to be taken off their calling list as I no longer live in Georgia and thus cannot use their services. No one has honored my request. I am military and have lived in 3 differents states in the past 3 years, none of them was Georgia. Have to agree with the prior reviews. So dissatisfied! I was just taken for $280 - duct cleaning and pet package carpet cleaning. Val-Pak/Money Mailer deal - another lesson in "You get what you pay for!" Same as the prior reviews, the total experience was one big upsell. In fact, after trying to sell me the $850 fan cleaning/system cleaning package, the duct cleaner advised he left our filters off the system since they needed to be changed, and then proceeded to turn on our systems before he left?!? After arriving with his carpet cleaning supplies in the trunk of a car, the carpets almost look worse than they did before they got here. Of course, I also now have three less dirty spots. They were brush scrubbed for demonstration purposes (or awareness - as the carpet cleaner kept saying). I called last month and scheduled a vent cleaning from a coupon circular - Saturday someone from Best Homes called to verify my appointment and time window. So I was feeling pretty good about the company. Then today 8am came and went (time frame was 8am -12pm) next thing it was 2pm and no one even called. I had called Jamie at 1130am to ask if someone was on the way - she put me on hold for 10 mins and came back and said she has to call me back (she even repeated my number so I knew they had it right) - at 2pm no call from a tech or Jamie. At 2pm I called Tracy and told her no one has showed up and you don't need to bother - she put me on hold and Elaine came on (sounding like a supervisor) - she said "the tech was at the house before yours and it had more vents then he expected and it took longer - we can reschedule." I told her not to bother - someone should have called me especially since I called Jamie at 1130am and she said that she would call and let me know what is going on. I had a friend call to get corporate's number - she said she was calling to say how wonderful they were (the only way to really get someone at corporate) -- she was asked to first call back, then Jamie came back on asking her to send a fax or email! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Jamie then told her it is the same number on the circular (there is no way!) and you have to ask for Jerry but must call at 9am because all the lines are busy now. Don't even waste your time taking a day off or thinking they will keep their word! He then showed me my order as proof where it clearly stated what I actually ordered. He then told me I ordered it wrong and tried to upsell me warning that my carpets needed more extensive cleaning. I responded to a pet package coupon for $79, which I was told on the phone included sanitizing. When the service person showed up, I first was surprised that he was driving in a unmarked small sedan (I think a Camry) and had no kind of identifying clothing or name tag. I wondered what kind of cleaning equipment would fit in that car. He came in and I showed him the rooms and he said that the carpet would need sanitizing in order to remove the odor, even though the ad said it covered odor removal. I told him I was advised that sanitizing was included. He insisted it wasn't, and then quoted me $210. When I told him I wasn't prepared to pay that and didn't want the service, he literally stormed out of the house, slamming the front door as he left and drove off. I wish I had read these reviews before using the coupon I got in the mail. Now, I wasn't expecting much for the low price. In fact, when the guy showed up in a busted Toyota and pulled a glorified Rug Doctor out of his trunk, it is pretty much what I was expecting. I was moving out of a rather crappy rental and just wanted to get the carpet clean-ish to return it to the average-to-poor condition it was in when I signed the lease. I knew from renting a Rug Doctor previously that they do a fairly decent job but not the greatest. But I didn't even get that. Not only did I have to provide this guy access to my own hot water at my own expense, but I'm pretty sure that this machine he had never heated the water beyond the tap temperature. There were some spots on the carpet that weren't stains, but merely some dirt tracked in from the movers and everyone coming in and out during out move. This sorry excuse of a carpet cleaner did not even get this stuff up. I think my regular vacuum cleaner and a damp sponge would have taken care of this. Needless to say, I quickly shut down any upselling attempts and just got this joke out of the house as soon as possible. read more

This business calls my home like 10 times a week trying to get me to use their service. They begin by asking very specific details of my home even after I told them it was just the basement that has carpet and a few rugs. They ask what rooms connect to what, as if they are trying to get a layout to come and rob me or something. After I refused to give them my address, they asked me what landmarks were close to my house. I repeatedly tell them I'm not interested but they continue to call and harass me. I eventually just hang up the phone then they call me back 3, literally 3 times in a row hoping I would pick up. Now every time my caller id has that number I don't pick up. It is still very annoying since they constantly, and I mean constantly call my home. I'm not even sure how they got my number but if you are going to use pressure tactics, I am even more certain I will not want to do business with you. I called this company from a $59.95 -7 room, 2 hall carpet cleaning coupon that was sent out in the mail...the guy got here & the price instantly jumped from $60 to $200.00,-- "if I wanted my carpets cleaned".-- (REALLY?!?!) I went somewhere in the middle ($115). It took him all of 20 mins to "clean" 7 rooms & 2 halls. My carpets are NOT clean! They look exactly the same with the exception of the "clean" squares in each room where he showed me what my carpets could look like if I paid $200. You know, I can honestly say when I bring a coupon to the (dry) cleaners, they don't ask me, "would you like me to dip your dirty clothes in this tub of water & leave them out to dry? or do you prefer me to toss them in the machine & use a product to clean them for an outrageous up charge! I was told by the sales lady that I had used this company before. So I was always very satisfied with all the other cleaners I have used. So I thought they would do a good job. The guys shows up and says the 79.00 is only a general cleaning, it would cost 250.00 to do a deep cleaning job. This has been over three weeks ago and everyday since, I have received a phone call from this company. I have told them numerous times to please stop contacting me and every time, they say they will put it in their system. Today, I have received two calls in one day. I have used this service about six times over the past two years, however my experience was not good today, the technician's were courteous but the equipment failed so they asked if they could go exchange it for another machine and they would be back in 45 minutes. About a hour and half later another young man shows up states he is from Best Home Services. I stated let me call the company which I did, I was transfered to the District Manager he was very rude and defensive, all I was suggesting is that I should have been notified that someone else is coming out instead of the two men that had came out earlier. I would have accepted this however the DC was so rude and offered no apology, I requested that they just remove my name from the call list. This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. The carpet looked good when they were done but within days all of the stains and marks came right back. I called in and told them I was not happy as I paid over $300 and got the "deep scrub process". The guy that came out told me the deep scrub was a guarantee and if they came back they would come back out. They said they would have to charge to come back out and that not all stains can be removed. That I understood but the tech told me that it would remove it and he even said it was guaranteed. That is why I paid the extra $175 for deep scrub. End result. They never did anything about it. I have been dealing with nothing but nightmares from this company. I set up an appointment with them to clean my carpet after they called me numerous times. They gave me a window of 8-12 on a Saturday, I called them at 12:15 because they never showed up to be told they had overbooked and couldn't keep the appointment. A month later I gave them another shot, was given a window of 12-4, again ,no call no show. The third time they practically begged me for a another chance, set up the appointment, again NO CALL NO SHOW. I called the office to complain and spoke to a dispatcher who stated, "Yeah, we aint gon be able to make it man, we could set you up for Sunday or something" As I began to make my complaint about this being the third no call no show i was told "Look man, aint nobody trying to hear all that, you want this S#@! or not". The conversation got ugly to which I was told "F#@! you man!!" and hung up on. Fast forward several months later, and I have been getting calls from them at least once a week. I called the head office and asked to be removed from the calling list and was told "we dont do that, just dont answer if we call". Frustrated i logged in to my AT&T online account and blocked their number. Today,,they called me again from another number!!! This company called me faithfully every week for nearly a year offering me special pricing for carpet cleaning, I phoned on a Wednesday and I was able to schedule 7 rooms/1 hallway/1 stairwell for $79.95 no tax with a $5 service charge for Friday. I was advised that additional fees would be charged for heavy stain areas, deodorizing, sanitizing and Teflon if requested, however this would be arranged once the technician arrived. I was given a window of arrival as 3pm - 6pm. 530 pm arrived and my technician was no call no show. I called the company, was told that the technician was still on a prior cleaning and would still show up. At 7:15 pm, the technician phoned and asked if I still wanted him to come, I said yes since I missed an entire day of wages waiting on him. He showed up at 8:15. He did a walk through and told me my charges would be $350.00 to my dismay. I said what? He said yes. I said, well I am definitely not prepared for that, no thank you. He then said, well I can work with you, can you afford $250.00, I said no. I can afford what the scheduler told me and the $9 per area for any heavy soils, which should not be more than $125.00. The technician said, well I can do that for you, but I do not take checks. I said, well that's not good business for this company to not prior advise of payment options. I said fine, I will use my debit card, he said I don't have a machine nor cell phone swipe for that, so I said oh well. He said you can go to the ATM. I said, you arrived hours late, did not pre advise of how you would accept your fees and you want ME to inconvenience myself and go to a ATM, he said, I'll go with you. I said - ah no thank you! Then the technician said, ok I will work with you and take your check. Ok the final end to this nightmare is that the website shows pictures of technicians using steam cleaning tools. This technician arrived with some waterless "buffing" type mechanism, that looks like the machines that you use to buff floors, not clean carpet. How could this possibly clean carpet, there is nothing pulling the dirt or stains out of the carpet! Well in the end, the best part was that my carpet was not soaking wet, however, everything that was "buffed" out of my carpet, now sat on top of my carpet. It was now after 11 and I was totally exhausted. He said, just vacuum that up, and it will look great. Saturday morning the same dirt/stains that were there when the technician arrived, were still there. This is the worst carpet cleaning I have ever received. This was by far the worst experience with a carpet cleaning service. I had an 11-1 window, I called at 12:50 and was told the tech would arrive closer to 2. I called at 2:30 - I was told another tech was sent and was in route. I left my house at 3:20 to go back to work. I called at 4 and was told a tech showed up around 3:45 but had left since no one was home, they advised that they would try to get someone else. FINALLY at 5:15 a tech arrived. He gave me a sap story about how he was DOING ME a favor by coming back since I missed my appointment and how he doesn't get reimbursed for gas. He then tried to get us to pay him cash to do a deodorizer, when I refused he said he already loaded it so we were getting it on the house. The tech then told me multiple times that he has his own carpet cleaning business and that I should call him directly and he would clean them for cheaper on the side. I will never have this company in my house again! I used coupons to have my ducts and carpets cleaned for a very fair price. Upon arrival, the first technician told me that my furnace and ducts were in horrible shape and it would cost an ADDiTIONAL $650 to have them cleaned properly. When I declined, he tried dropping the price by $150, which always sends off a red flag in my mind. Later that day, we asked our neighbor, an HVAC technician, to stop by to check out our furnaces. He said they were just fine and only needed minimal servicing. When the second technician arrived to do our carpets, we stuck to our guns and had him do the basic cleaning. (He tried to up sell us to do the heavy duty deep cleaning and we declined). When he left, every single soiled mark was STILL present on the carpets! I went around with a bottle of oxyclean and a rag and was able to get every single mark out myself. This revealed to me that he never bothered to go over any of the soiled areas at all. Lesson learned? Use a reputable company and pay more for quality work upfront rather than letting this company into your house and having them either do a terrible job or having them try to upsell you by exorbitant amounts. Terrible customer service! I wished I too had read the reviews before I scheduled an appointment to have my carpets cleaned. I received a call ten minutes before our scheduled appointment time by the dispatcher Jeff who said his technician was on his way. I waited an hour before I called the office to make sure they were still coming. They transferred me to the technician who said he'd be another hour at the earliest. I told him that wasn't going to work and I'd like to speak to a manager. He transferred me back to Jeff the dispatcher who said he was it as far as managers go and that his technician had left me numerous messages that he was going to be late. I told him that just was not true that I have no messages on my machine just one hang up. At that point, Jeff the dispatcher hung up on me. I contacted their main office and explained what happened and they said that it gets busy there and he must have thought I was canceling my appointment. They made zero attempt to make it right or have their employee call and apologize for hanging up me their customer. I eventually did cancel my appointment and I say buyer beware, this company will never get my business. I recommend everyone stay away from Best Home Services INC in Smyrna, GA. read more
