Long story short - if you're looking for a used car and you want a good deal with no BS, go to…read morethese guys. Now the full story: I was in the market for a used Ionic 5, and I first drove one at Echo Park Automotive in Cary, NC. However, when my husband and I were ready to buy, they didn't have one, so I went to someone else (who, for the time being will remain nameless because we're still in the midst of a disagreement). The car came with an adapter, which I thought was for the Ionic so that I could use it with a Tesla supercharger, but it turned out it was the wrong part. It was for a Tesla to use other types of chargers - so wrong way around. Turns out there was no aftermarket source for them, so I was left with either throwing it away (super wasteful) or giving it to someone who could use it. I was determined NOT to take it back to the arseholes that I bought the car from, so I took it to Echo Park with the intention of just giving it to them for someone who buys a Tesla from them so the part wouldn't go to waste. When I explained the situation to Tyler, he took my number and told me that they would order the right part for me and call me when it came in. WHAT?????!!!!! I didn't even buy a car from them and they're offering to help me with a $250 part????? WOAH! Needless to say; next time I need a car, I'll wait a month so I can buy my car of choice from these guys. In short....THEY ROCK

I've waited a few months to post this review - I'll explain why…read more Our 20 year old daughter wanted to buy her own car, paid for by her, all cash. She had her eye on used Subaru models. We spotted a 2004 Subaru Forester at West Raleigh Auto, called and drove down the same afternoon. Really liked the car, the lot owner, Patrick, was extremely friendly and professional. We planned to come back the next day to get dad's opinion and most likely buy the car. Came back following morning, test drove a second time, made an offer on car (considering how much daughter had saved for a car), Patrick happily accepted and she bought the car. We noticed a few issues with car - rear view mirror was very discolored (with age), passenger window motor broken, car needed new wiper blades and car was not clean (it had literally only been on lot 1 day when we bought it). Patrick gave us an IOU for complete detail, replace all wiper blades, new window motor and new rear view mirror. No questions asked. We took the car home and I drove it back down to Patrick following Wednesday for the detail and repairs to be made - it took the mobile detail guy a few hours to clean, Patrick lent me a car from his lot and I just drove down to Crabtree Mall and killed the time. Very generous to lend me a car! ONLY issue we have is the following week, our daughter was running a few quick errands, locally here in WF. After her third stop in about 1/2 hour, she came out of Dollar Tree and the car would NOT start. She freaked out, called us panicking and said she turned key over and it wouldn't start. Tried four tries until it started for her. OMG. Car was only two weeks old to us and wouldn't start! What?! I texted Patrick immediately, he said bring it in on Monday, I'll have my mechanic look at it. Monday, I drove car down to Patrick, he loaned me a car again and his mechanic tried over and over to replicate stalling. He could not get it to stall... Long story short - we've owned car since first week of October. The car has stalled on me once (again after running a few quick in and out errands) and stalled on daughter on December 16. Very frustrating. Car will catch after a few tries but it undermines your confidence in the car. Oh, and there seems to be an issue with the passenger window again - we had window down, car stalled, window wouldn't go back up. After a few tries, we got car started again and window back up but daughter refuses to let anyone put passenger window down now. Saddens us that she saved up hard-earned money and there are still issues with the car but what can you do? Update 1/8/18: rear view mirror that Patrick installed completely broken and fogged over. Car stalled again twice today before finally starting. Final thoughts: Would I buy from Patrick again? Maybe. Would I get the car checked out independently before I bought it? Definitely. Is he a stand-up guy? Yes, he did try to replicate issue and just couldn't get it to happen. He stood by his word on all fixes and the complete detail (guy did a bang up job cleaning her car). Hope this review helps future used car buyers!

I bought a 2008 Jetta a year and a half ago for my daughter. I believe I got a very good deal on…read morethe car. It was clean and Greg was very helpful and responsive during the purchase process. I discovered the cd player didn't work and he had a new, upgraded radio installed complete with bluetooth. He also arranged for a locksmith to come and make 2 new keys for me at cost (which would have cost more than $300-400 at the dealership). So... why am I writing a review a year and a half after the purchase of this vehicle? Well...you know teenagers... :( The good news is that my daughter is fine and no other vehicle or property was involved.... but she hydroplaned, crossed the yellow line and went off the road and into a grassy gully. Our better angels were watching over her that day and thank God nobody else was in the car and nobody was seriously injured. The car, on the other hand, was not worth repairing...... so ..... I am in the market for another used car ... and I am going to be heading back to West Raleigh Auto Sales to see what they have in stock!! I guess that is the whole point of providing a good customer experience, right? Make them want to come back for more and tell their friends.

A must read...... I could write a 16 page positive review…read moreabout the salesman we had the pleasure of working with, but I'll keep it short. Purchasing a new car isnt fun, but working with Thurmond was a smooth, and zero stress environment. My young adult daughter had her sights on one specific car after mnths of searching and she was ready to purchase that one, and ONLY that one and the car had not even got the lot yet. I wasn't giving her money for it. She had to afford it all by herself. I told her Id do the haggling for her and I was not looking forward to that feeling if worked a double in a rock quarry dealing with a car salesman. End result, we drove off the lot with THE car she wanted, papers signed and we felt great! She had just signed away thousands of dollars, years of payments in her name to this dealership and we felt we'd made a great decision to purchase from here. Capital Mazda may not know how big of a gold mine they have in this employee. I hope they invest in Thurmond because dealerships have bad reputations due to salesmen that are a dime a dozen. Thurmond had to put up with hours of my multiple questions for a solid 5 days and by the time we left the dealership we felt OUR time and money was well spent here and ready to buy my own car from them. I never had trouble reaching Thurmond. He was reliable, good energy, he was focused on us, I never felt pressured or rushed and he did a good job leading us to closure. I can see it when I look back now. The deal was fair, and really important--Thurmond actually likes his job so I have to compliment his management team. Great salespeople are a reflection of the culture and leadership they have and it was evident management respects and works in tandem with their people. Johnathon especially. There was a manager who seemed a bit scary/gruff at first, but was actually kind & professional so in the end the dealership was well rounded IMO. Ask for Thurmond. He is a breath of fresh air in today's environment. We are purchasing our next car thru Capital Mazda......unless Thurmond switches job sites.

This is the single best car buying experience I've ever had…read more Short version- Evan Ruggiero and Matt Bishop were incredible to work with. They stayed late without rushing us and made sure that we were making a deal that was to all parties' satisfaction. I would (and already have) absolutely recommend this dealership to friends looking for a Subaru. The experience was enough that I will be considering a Subaru for our next new vehicle when I may otherwise have looked at other manufacturers. Long version- While out of town, my wife and I became interested in a new 2026 Subaru Solterra with a specific trim/option that wasn't available anywhere in the state. Evan Ruggiero worked to help us find exactly what we were asking for with a dealership transfer. Because of the other dealership, that didn't pan out and we had to start the search over, and we expanded the color options we were open to. Johnson Subaru ended up having our desired trim but with a "premium" paint option. My wife was fine with the new paint color so Evan pulled the keys until we were back in town the following Monday. After a quick test drive, walk around, and overview of features, we went to finalize negotiations and paperwork. Negotiations were easy enough and we ended up getting a deal we were very happy with. No games, no arguing, just good-faith negotiation. We went to financing with Matt Bishop who clearly explained all the documentation and was patient as we read everything anyways. Everything he explained was an honest representation of the legalese in the contracts. I typically opt-out of all additional service/warranty/coverage, but chose not to in this instance. Matt clearly explained the benefits of each, what he personally chooses for his vehicle, and some that wouldn't benefit us as strongly. Again, there were no games with this. Matt probably went through pricing options for at least 6 different variants, broke each option down by total cost, individual impact to monthly cost, and helped us calculate the cost comparison to out-of-pocket expense with/without it. The bar is on the floor here, but both Evan and Matt were great about talking to both my wife and I. I was asking most of the questions, but this vehicle purchase was for my wife and they fully respected each of our roles in this. They never spoke down to my wife or ignored her like I've heard in countless car buying dealerships. I cannot speak highly enough of this overall experience. I'd specifically recommend working with Evan and Matt, but trust that this dealership's culture is around the customer experience, making sure all parties are satisfied, and not just a quick sale.
