Satisfied with my service appointments here. I can't speak to the buying experience because I purchased my BMW from another business. I always select early morning appointments so I can find a great spot to work while I wait. (If weather is pleasant, it's a leisurely walk to Streets at Southpoint shopping mall). Complimentary coffee/tea is a nice touch too. Grateful for complimentary rides home when I am unable to wait. Service associates keep you very well informed about the status of your vehicle. Updated: I exchanged emails with Josh, who sent me a video of the condition of the tires as well as the alignment report showing the before and after numbers, as the tire wear was due to a misalignment of the rear camber. I had been disappointed because we were told we needed new tires at just 20K miles. This concerns parts department. I called to see if they had a wheel lock key for my X5 as the one that I had was striped and would not take wheel lock bolt out. Looking back over my records it appears that BMW service was last to use. (Not this dealership). So I called and was told they had some. I asked the parts person if he could ship it to me. He said he could not take my credit card over the phone I need to be there in person. This was last Friday. I drove up to Durham which is an about 1.5 hour drive on good day but there were storms in the RTP area. Upon arriving I was told that they didn't have the key I needed and was given a number to call to order. Why could the parts person not give me the number over the phone and saved me 3 hours of travel and gas. read more

The finance office will not completed the sale without you signing an arbitration agreement. They also try to play games with the loan application, making you agree to come back and do a new loan agreement. They check your credit report. They know you have good credit. I can't say enough about the service department, particularly Sam Masoner. I brought my car in for a water leak 2 to 3 days before the warranty was to run out. My car was a CPO BMW and was by far the cheapest CPO on the lot, however, they made me feel as though I had bought the most expensive new car on the lot. They kept the car for days while in the interim giving me a 4 series convertible. Even though they could not duplicate the problem they left no stone unturned. A great experience. Great service. Scummy business practice. Please read below. I do not write negative reviews, check my review history. This particular experience left a bad enough impression I felt compelled to write one. I test drove a vehicle yesterday that I was interested in. Appraised my trade-in vehicle and got final numbers. Informed the dealership I had one other appointment immediately after this appointment down the street and was likely to make a decision that day. The sales rep informed me that a sales associate at the dealership was interested in purchasing the vehicle and I could put a $1000 deposit on the vehicle. While this could have been completely transparent information, from my perspective, it could also seem like sleazy dealership practices to create a false sense of urgency. Went to the other dealership but ultimately decided I wanted to purchase the vehicle from BMW Southpoint. I left BMW Southpoint at 1pm and called the sales rep at 2:50pm informing them I want to purchase the vehicle. I was told their other sales associate was already in the process of purchasing the vehicle as I am sitting in my bank parking lot ready to pay over $30k in cash for this vehicle. Less than two hours after my test drive, the car was sold internally. While I left the dealership without immediately purchasing the vehicle and I am not entitled to any vehicle, there is a clear conflict of interest. The sales associate is afforded an amount of knowledge unavailable to the common customer. Any other interested customer would not receive information that I was likely purchasing that day and that they had to buy it now. Given BMW Southpoint made no real acknowledgment of this conflict of interest and made no effort at restitution, they earned this bad review. Clearly there is a better way to do business. read more

BMW X7 Buyers Beware My experience with a BMW X7 has been extremely disappointing. The transfer case failed soon after warranty expiration, even though I reported symptoms to the dealer while it was still under warranty. BMW and the dealership did not diagnose the problem correctly at that time -- a known issue that many other X7 owners have reported online. This repair costs around $9,000-$10,000, and BMW has not taken accountability for what appears to be a common, premature defect. New in town and not the experience I have come to expect from BMW of North America. Made an appointment for a typical service and pulled into the bay on time. I literally sat in my car for 15 minutes waiting for a service advisor to approach me, check me in, and guide me through the process. This is the experience I'm used to. While sitting there, I noticed an employee sitting in the bay reading the news paper and couldn't be bothered to lift up his head and offer me any help. I finally stepped out of the car to figure out the procedure. It's worth noting that when you "set" these appointments, you get an assigned advisor who (I thought) is supposed to be on the lookout for your arrival to be of service once you pull in. Again, this is the experience I'm used to elsewhere in the US. I ended up interacting with Kenneth, who was expert and very helpful. As far as the service experience, I was very happy with BMW of Southpoint. Thank you, Kenneth. Again, new in town, I've been noticing that many neighborhoods in the Triangle are simply not in my car's GPS nav. My HOME ADDRESS is not in the car's nav (big problem). I was informed by BMW that they could update the maps in my infotainment at a cost of $400. My jaw hit the floor. The advisor then told me, "just use your phone." My jaw hit the floor. BMW -- why are you making customers pay a premium for infotainment, only to have them be told to "just use your phone?" Marketing and sales, please take note! I relented, and conceded to pay the exhorbitant fee to have the maps in my car updated -- only to find out that vast swaths of areas in the triangle still don't show up in the nav. I have half a mind to sashay over to Audi or Mercedes Benz over this...stunt. Prospective BMW buyers. I'm upfront about what I expect as an MSRP discount and have talked with brokers and am a regular on Bimmerpost so I know exactly what the monthly target is for discounts, the finance rate and what any incentives are on offer Since I'm not there to waste the dealerships time, I expect to be told if they are going to match the broker targets, and if not I'll go somewhere that will with no hard feelings I have NEVER in all my transactions been insulted, called gullible for "believing stuff on the internet" or been implied that I'm lying "because no dealership will give you that" I was disgusted with the experience and will not be taking my or my wife's BMWs to their service center again. I also was sure to let my friends and work colleagues know about my experience and to avoid this dealership when buying a new BMW I bought a brand new X3 m50 the day after this terrible experience at the other local dealership, where they matched the monthly MSRP discount and were an absolute pleasure to deal with, and no one called me a liar or gullible. read more

Where do I even start with this business. Took a BMW 650i to be serviced for and audio issue, recommended services that were NOT nesasarry AT ALL such as the turbo coolant lines being replaced, and quoted around $1,700 for which I took a look at and there was 0 damage to. No coolant leaks at all from the lines, the only problem was 2 plastic connectors for the hoses that were damaged. The 2 cost $15 along with some clamps that cost $16. taking the actual repair cost down from $1,700 to $31. Unbelievable. Complete lack of competence from this establishment. read more

Use caution when seeking service at this dealership. While the sales team has been great, and we've owned several BMWs over the years, we will not be purchasing another vehicle here. We were actively in the market for a new car within the next three months--but after repeated poor service experiences, we've decided to take our business elsewhere. Communication from the service department is extremely poor. Status updates are rarely provided unless you chase them down, and even then, calls and text messages are frequently ignored. This month, I left voicemail messages for both the service manager and general manager about the service on my vehicle and received no response, it has been a month. The only callback was from a service advisor we'd never worked with--not the person the messages were directed to. Once our factory warranty expired, the service quality noticeably declined--especially after we declined the extended warranty they pushed. Despite scheduling service appointments in advance, we were recently informed these are not the actual appointments for work to be started on your vehicle, they're simply drop-off times. The vehicle may or may not be looked at that day and can sit for several days before being serviced. On one occasion, they had my car for three full days before even starting the service I had scheduled a month earlier. They also lack consistency and accuracy. At one visit, I was told the service would take four hours. When it took multiple days, they did not take ownership of the fact that they had not begun the work on my car. Rather they claimed I was provided incorrect information, blaming the person who scheduled the appointment. I did not ask them to pull the voice recording--they did so on their own, seemingly in hopes of catching me being dishonest. The recording confirmed exactly what was said: When asked how long the service would take, and the person who scheduled appointment stated four hours. I asked this question at the time of booking, not after dropping off the car as I do a lot of driving for my job and needed an accurate timeframe. The misinformation came from their end, not mine yet they seemingly wanted to blame anyone accept their service department. Every visit seems to result in additional "unexpected" service recommendations--even for basic oil changes. One example: I was told I needed two filters. I requested one to be done now and the other at the next visit. At the next oil change, I asked about the second filter, only to be told it did not need replaced after all. Though during that visit, I was told I needed new tires and an alignment. I paid for both--but the alignment was never completed. When I returned to have it corrected, I was told my brakes were at 9mm and in good condition (also no problems when the tires were changed the week before). Shortly after receiving their video message saying 9mm and I received a call from them telling me I needed new front brake pads. They quoted me for new pads, but never once mentioned rotors might be needed, which should have been brought up at the same time, so the new pads don't wear out faster (they want to act like I don't know anything about cars). The oil change service light was also never reset, even though my vehicle had been in their shop twice. I ultimately had to go to another mechanic to complete the work. I will also be taking all recall work to a different dealership, despite working in Chapel Hill and passing this dealership daily. This dealership's lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service is unacceptable in any profession. No returned calls, misleading information, and repeated oversights have cost them our business permanently. I will be sharing our experience widely so others can make informed decisions and seek service elsewhere. read more

I would give the service department 0 stars if possible, specifically Kenneth Butron. I needed a replacement side mirror cap and and he scheduled my appointment about a month out to have time to order the cap ordered and painted. I confirmed the day before the appointment by messaging him directly and I also received a confirmation email. When I arrived, he said my part was not ready because it was not painted (despite my confirmation with him the business day prior). He then proceeded to gaslight me into it being MY fault because I did not call the parts department MYSELF to confirm the part was ready and painted. He said he would contact me once the part was painted and NEVER called or emailed me to set up an appointment. I spoke with the manager the same day who said they would come out and pick up my car and repair it and bring it back, but he also never followed through and contacted me. It was a good purchase experience with Jay Patel, but literally the worst service experience I have ever had with any vehicle. I will never go back and will drive further into Raleigh to avoid them. I will also likely never buy an BMW again because of the terrible service experience. read more

I had a great experience ordering my BMW X7 through BMW of Southpoint and would recommend this dealership to anyone in the area. Reggie Rodwell was my sales rep and worked with me throughout the ordering and purchase process. BMW Southpoint holds production slots with the factory in Spartanburg, SC -- so when we tested a few cars on the lot and decided to buy exactly what we wanted, they gladly worked with us to order and deliver a car in six weeks (over the holidays in fact). When we arrived to pick up the car, Reggie had everything ready. Perhaps most helpful was having one of their tech "geniuses" Carmelo there to walk us through all of the features and technology in the car. It was a bit overwhelming at first given our prior car was much older, but they made sure they got us comfortable. This included two visits to our house to help us with additional questions that came up -- even simple things like programming the garage door opener. On the service side, they get you in quick and set you up with a loaner. We've had a service relationship for 5+ years and have decided that we take both of our cars there for most everything. In sum, we're pleased to have an ongoing relationship with BMW Southpoint and appreciate all their support for our new ride! read more

The Service department is very poorly managed and performing. I got a X7 M60 from this dealership 2 years ago. As always, the Sales guys are nice and accommodating. The fun stops once you have to bring the car to Service. Expect multiple days of waiting to get your vehicle back, and don't expect that the Service is done well. I just got my car back 2 days ago, the tires are no longer recognized by the system (causing constant default screens), my settings are all screwed up...I asked them to check the squeaky brakes, they are still squeaky after the service. It took a lot of calls to get this "Service" performed in 3 days. It's a $100k car, that I am happy with. BMW Southpoint though has a worse service than your average Toyota dealer. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service in the service department. I have called multiple times about trying to get my car in and it's a brand new one where the door guards are peeling off and I need my maintenance done. Nobody's called me back. I've asked about a loaner. It's been a week now and when I bought my car they promised me they would have someone pick up my car and drop it off with a loaner. They now don't do that nor do they have enough loaners to use. They said they would squeeze me in but I would have to wait and they weren't sure how long a minimum of 2.5 hours. I live an hour and 20 min from the dealership. They make promises they can't keep and don't expect a response from them. Useless!!! I have never experienced anything like this at a dealership before. Clearly the management there needs to be better. I will never buy anything from this dealership again. read more

Jay Patel my sales guy was so easy to work with and always responded to every question I had via text anytime of the day. He helped me select what I needed for my I4 and made sure that I was satisfied. He also kept me up to date on the building process and connecting me with the Performance Center in SC for pick up.. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.. Tyler my finance guy was also amazing, understanding accommodating and never pushy which I so appreciated. He made sure I was knowledgeable about all the benefits and helped me select what was best for me.. I know the Performance Center in SC is completely separate but to me it felt like a team and a family experience as the service continued once I landed. From the car service to the hotel staff up until the day of the experience. Andy, Clint, Matt and my personal guide Seth were great. The road experience was so much fun and learning the history of the BMW brand and the features included in all was very beneficial. Seth my personal guide that helped me take delivery of my car was awesome. He took the time to explain the nuts and bolts and helped calm my nerves about traveling back to NC and having to stop and charge. my husband in april of this year, 2025 came to southpoint to get spark plugs and injectors replaced on his m5 bmw. this was not done correctly under mr fields and annapolis bmw had to correct what was not done correctly and pay them for what southpoint was paid for and did incorrectly. now is november 2025 my husband has so many issues with this bmw. southpoint has broken this car. the car has to go to bmw annapolis every 2 weeks. the car had stopped on the road while being driven 2 months ago while a truck was behind my husband and thank god the truck stopped. now the car is in the shop because while it is being driven white smoke comes out. mr fields has done nothing to correct this. read more

In June 2023, we acquired a pristine 2024 BMW X6 with zero mileage from BMW of Southpoint l, Durham, North Carolina. However, our ownership experience took an unexpected turn when, at around 6000 miles, the car experienced a complete breakdown on December 20, 2024, during my morning commute. Preceding this, there was a disconcerting loud banging noise, reminiscent of someone striking the engine with a hammer. Seeking assistance, we promptly contacted Southpoint BMW. Following their guidance, we had the vehicle towed to Southpoint BMW of Durham, NC, a considerable distance of an hour and a half from our residence. Upon reaching out to Southpoint of BMW, we learned that insights into the car's issues would be available once a diagnostic evaluation could be conducted, initiating the opening of a help ticket with BMW on December 28, 2023. Subsequently, we received disheartening news the vehicle's engine was malfunctioning, and the cause remained unknown. The proposed solution was to replace the entire engine of this ostensibly brand-new vehicle. We expressed our dissatisfaction to Southpoint BMW that accepting a brand-new vehicle requiring a complete engine replacement with less than 6000 miles was unacceptable, anticipating irreparable repercussions on the car's future performance and reliability. This situation has led us to question whether the vehicle is a lemon or indicative of a defective product. Acknowledging our concerns, Southpoint BMW assured us of their understanding and committed to presenting viable options for resolution. Among these options are potential avenues like a buyback or repurchase of a new vehicle, aimed at addressing the inconvenience and restoring our confidence in the product. Southpoint BMW's reluctance to address the issue fairly raises concerns about its commitment to ethical business practices, suggesting a focus on financial interests over customer satisfaction. My issue is with the service. Even with an appointment, a simple oil change cannot seem to get done in a day. I have brought a car in for diagnostic, with an appointment. Took 2 days to get diagnosis. Then had to order parts, which required another appointment. Even with an appointment. after the shop had the parts, the work was delayed another few days. They seem to have too few mechanics (or bays) to do the volume of work promised. read more

This is about the service department. Bought a used BMW from another dealer in great shape. Was contacted by BMW through the car's app about the need for routine maintenance. I used the app to schedule with BMW of Southpoint. Really great! Brought the car in at the appointed time and the gentleman at the desk tried to hard sell me some sort of pay-up-front-now service package. Pretty firm no from me. I just want to drop off my car for service and don't want some sales meeting. Went to pick up the car hours later and the guy doubles down on hard selling this service package. About a month later i get a low pressure warning for one of my tires and go to pump air. I notice that the four fancy valve caps on the car were replaced by four mismatched mixed set of valve caps. Look, no one else did this. No one else touched my car for service before or after. And if some random stole them they sure wouldn't replace them with four others. Now I don't really care about valve caps. The fancy ones were on the car when I bought it. Turns out they're about $35 for the set. Whatever. I guess they have an employee who really needed them. What I do care about is that on my first visit there they hard sell me a bogus service package (which I am sure they stand behind yadda yadda) and then steal my things. Or misplace them. Whatever. Going to this dealer for routine service would have been very convenient. After that will I go back? Hail no. No point in going to a dealer for routine maintenance. I tried it with Crown Honda a decade ago and that was actually worse because at least these guys didn't break my car or squirm out of warranty repairs or create fake problems (thanks Crown). Greeted promptly actually double teamed two people happen to greet me at the same time!! I couldn't move without someone making sure I was tended too!! The best BMW dealership and service center. They were able to hook up my X5 with a hard wired radar detector and dashcam for a really affordable price. They were also able to bundle a few services together to get a better discount from the accessories department. The dealership was able to install a trailer hitch and tint my windows all within a week. I've been servicing my cars here for years and I wouldnt take them anywhere else. The prices for basic services (oil changes, brake fluid flush) are priced fairly with the rest of the shops out there. This specific dealership has the most experienced service staff. 10/10 would recommend. read more
