first and last visit. The woman who did my mani pedi does not speak English, but she managed to say "$8 extra". I agreed so the bill should have been the list price $35 plus $8 =43. I was charged $55! Ridiculous. I don't mind paying, I do mind being ripped off. And others here have complained of the same thing and the owner states clearly that the mani pedi is $35 (which is the printed price). If they are going to up sell they should send someone over who can sell it so the customer knows what they are buying. Those questions should be asked at the front desk. And it was pretty ordinary. And I have bruises from the massage which I hated. Heated gel burns, massage bruises and my time was wasted and I got ripped off for $20. I'm done. read more

Granted I live in San Francisco and was here on a visit but jeez u can get the same service for $25 in SF so there must be better value out there in Austin. My experience at Best Nails has been very good during my year as a customer. I like the idea of no appointment necessary. Each time I have not had to wait, although the salon appears busy. The selection of Opi polish is good. The prices are reasonable for a standard mani and pedi. The equipment looks good, the place looks clean, and the pedi chairs are comfortable. The staff appears focused on the job and customer rather than talking constantly to each other, which I observed at a competitor's nail salon. The salon has a printed price list of services, which is a good business practice that makes a customer feel fairly treated. Prices were $35 for a standard mani pedi combo or $12 for a standard manicure alone when I had mine done. Ask about the frequent customer promotion if you try Best Nails. read more

A friend recommended Best Nails because of the extended leg massage that comes with the deluxe pedi. I was really glad I took her recommendation. I did receive a very long and relaxing leg massage. Plus the woman doing my nails noticed I had a flower painted on the nail on my big toe from my previous pedicure and asked if I wanted another one. I paid her a little extra to paint her own design and it was beautiful. It's been over a month and my pedicure still looks great. I'll definitely be going back. read more

I've been going to Best Nails for more than 4 years and have always had great service. I used to have solar nails and now do mani pedis and and and i've been very pleased with both. The salon is clean, organized and usually busy, although you never have to wait long. They are accommodating and polite and many of my friends now go there on my recommendation. They are closed on Sundays so plan your week. read more

I went into Best Nails to get a fill on nails that I had put on in Alaska for a wedding. I had decided to keep my nails and looked here on yelp and noticed that Best Nails had great reviews. I went in about 6:30 pm. I was help right away. The man that did my nails explained to me the difference between using powder vs paint for and american mani. He told me that it would be the same price for either style. He cut them down to a length that I was happy with and very friendly. I normally don't keep my nails done however, I am like how natural that my nails look and want to see how they do with pedi. I have found my new nail shop. read more

I've been coming to "Best Nails" since they first came to the Mesa Drive (when Jason was the owner.Jason opened in apx 2002) . He quickly became a good buddy of mine. He retired after some years, then Lee bought the biz. Lee has been the owner for several years now and I'm still very, very pleased! I'm so impressed with how he runs the business. Now Lee' is my buddy, as well as his entire staff. You can walk in and have anyone there do your mani or pedi and you'll be pleased. They follow cleanliness best practices, which is super important to me. Everyone is very friendly & customer service oriented. The entire staff is very professional ..no gossip.. always very positive and kind. I enjoy kidding around and laughing with everyone that works there. You will be treated with respect and you'll never have to worry about anyone here taking out their stress on you... NO gossip or complaining. I highly recommend everyone at Best Nails. I have been to Best Nails three times now- three manicure/fills and two pedicures- including just today. I have been getting acrylic nails for over 20 years. I am currently sort of stuck on pink-and-white gel-coated nails. I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly in nail salons! Best Nails lives up to its name. It is the best nail shop I have ever been to in the whole Austin area. My nails look great, have held up well each time, and best of all- the nail tech I go to (the manager) is fast! On-BTW- I have one nail that looks a little weird due to the fact that I cut the tip of my nail off (when I was 5 years old) on a swing set. Lee is able to make it look like a "normal nail"- hooray!! Overall, the staff is friendly and helpful. Pedicures are very nice too and even the regular pedicure has several extra steps, including a hot towel on the feet at the end, that you often do not get even with a deluxe pedicure elsewhere. The deluxe pedicure is also well worth it if you have a little bit of extra time to be pampered. The shop is clean, well-lighted, and smells good. (I have been to other shops that had a problem in all three areas!) The environment is spa-like- not too loud and over-stimulating. They have TVs but keep them on closed-caption mode. The staff also seems to stay on time....I have not had to wait when I have an appointment. A friend recommended this shop to me a year ago and I wish I had changed sooner. read more

Unbelievable down hill plummet after Jason left. I was loyal to this place ... NO MORE. They will resort to all kinds of tricks to rip a customer off. The prices are way higher than anyone else and the service SUCKS. They demand tips!!! Who does that? Tips are something that you get if your service is satisfactory or above. I walked in and was talked to like I was some lower form of human. I waited 15 minutes even thought I had an appointment. My fills were $12 higher than the price they gave me on the phone. The whole time she was working on my nails, she jerked my hands and fingers around like she was madder than hell. Then she cut my fingers in two places and made them bleed. I know a little Vietnamese and I can tell you that they say awful things about all the customers while they are working. They tried to tell one lady that she left without paying the time before and she was positive that she paid. They made a huge scene and embarrassed this poor woman in front of everyone. If I'd been her I would have walked out. When she was finished they asked her if she wanted I receipt and she said. "Well, I usually say no, but apparently, I better start getting them AND paying with my credit card. Then they cussed at her in Vietnamese and told her in English that she was too much trouble. This woman put up with all of this and then tipped them. This is the fourth time I've seen them pick arguments with their customers. Each time they have gotten louder and more obnoxious. I'm not going back EVER. This is a HellHole of angry people that take it out on their customers. They are going out of business if they don't stop picking fights and ripping people off. Just terrible people. The manager is Lee and some girl whose name starts with an M. .. MY or MI or Mai. .. she is always in a fight with someone about money. Terrible place.
