I sought out Jeff to micro blade my eyebrows I wanted to start the journey to have permanent makeup. After my fists visit on April 9 even though the rows were healing I was thrilled that every morning I woke up with beautiful brows on my face. Jeffrey is a great communicator before and after the procedure. I live in Chicago am 56 and had the permanent eyebrow procedure done Tuesday April 2, 2019. I am now it Day 11. I kept a detailed account from day to day. My eyebrows were dark at first and he told me not to wet them and only use a qtip lightly to put Cerave lotion daily. Which I did. By day seven they were dark and itchy but I could shower wash my hair and blot lightly to dry. Continue to use qtip to put the Cerave lotion on lightly. By day 8-9 they started to show a greyish patch and I thought the procedure didn't take. Day 8 I could see my eyebrow turning to little snake skin look. The scabs were gently flaking off. Again no rubbing just blot gently. By day 10 and 11 the true color is starting to reveal. Exactly as he said. About 50% lighter than second day. The flaking of skin is almost done. I am getting compliments on my hair! (Although I think people mean my eyebrows) but they don't know what is different about me. Thank you Jeffery! You are the best! I am also getting compliments on my eyebrows now! Funny thing is I didn't tell my fiancé I had the procedure but even he and his friends are complimenting on how pretty I look more often. LOL. I agree with the other negative review, that it seemed 'tricky' of him to explain that you NEED a follow up for an additional fee - after you get there for your prepaid appointment. I drove over an hour to get to my apt with him, so I agreed and went through with my procedure. Right after they were done I could see they were crooked! When they healed half the ink from one side was gone and the crooked areas showed up worse! I had to pay someone else to fix them the best they could with what he left. So, I paid him for a second visit for nothing AND had to pay a second person to fix me, too! read more

I had permanent makeup (eyeliner) done by Mr .Segal last month and was extremely satisfied with the first session. I have had the procedure done before by other permanent makeup artists in the Chicagoland and Cleveland areas, and I am very happy with the results by Mr. Segal. I will be going for a touch-up session later this month. Jeffery Segal is professional, very pleasant and personable, and is openly communicative with his clients. Some reviewers had commented that his rates (outside of Groupon or Yelp discounts) are high but I think they are very reasonable and worth the end result. He takes his time with shaping and making sure the client is happy with the proposal. I just had permanent makeup on my brows yesterday by Jeffery and he is wonderful. At first I got a little lost trying to find the location. So try to get directions on where he is in the building it's like in a small office on the lower level and there are many small offices. The office has no reception desk it's literally a small one man office with a table for you to lay down and have the procedure, and just a couple of chairs. You can tell he's an artist by the way he takes his time taking pictures and then showing you a preview of what you would like by putting make up on your brows to make sure you would like them. Yes, there is a 2nd appointment that is required, but on the Groupon it states that in the fine print: " A single application of permanent cosmetics is to provide a foundation color. Many clients require a second application to complete the procedure to their satisfaction." I think it's totally worth it. And it is not painful, just a tad in the beginning but he numbs you up and you hardly feel it afterwards. Besides all of this he is very charming and funny which really helps if you are nervous which I was because this is a big deal it's permanent make up on your face. I highly recommend him. This is a review based on communication with Jeffery, as I was inquiring remotely and wouldn't travel from Canada for his services. I found the photos of his work beyond impressive and can see it's the top quality available in the industry. Even though he knew there was no potential business from me, and must be a very busy person, he still took the time to answer my many questions and give me excellent information pertaining to the industry, certifications, and his background which helped me understand how that applied to his work. Too bad it's so far or it would be my choice. There are a few businesses right here in Vancouver that were not as eager or genuine with wanting to help me, and they DID have a chance at my business! I am a new client that purchased a Groupon. I am also a survivor of cancer who, because of chemo effects, lost and never regained eyebrows. I had my eyebrows previously tattooed, but had an inconsistent relationship with the tattooing professional. Consequently, they had not been maintained. Some of the reviewers seem unhappy with the revelation that they must return for periodic touch ups. It is simply the reality of the situation - no matter who the artist is. Artists also have different price structures to address this fact. You could be charged more money up front and then the second visit is "free." The upshot is that the decision to tattoo should be made carefully: understand the cost structure, what you must do to maintain your best look and how to best relate to your practitioner. From now on, Jeffery's my guy. He has an excellent eye for color, natural looking proportion and symmetry. The length of the brow and the arch are gorgeous, the very best my brows have ever looked. They look natural thanks to the micro-blading technique. Each hair is tattooed instead of one continuous line of color. Now I actually look like I have eyebrows - really beautiful eyebrows. Instead of spending $$$ on every new brow product hoping to finally find something that works, I will spend $$ on maintaining and tweaking my tattooed eyebrows. Jeffery's work is really outstanding. I was very apprehensive before making the decision to apply permanent eyeliner and eyebrows. Jeffery made me feel comfortable regarding the entire process. He explained everything in detail in advance. Before he began, Jeffery also placed non-permanent makeup on my brows and around my eyes to show me how the finished product would look on my face. The actual process was uncomfortable while he applied the eyeliner, but not painful. The brow application process was absolutely fine. Jeffery numbs each area before applying any permanent work. It took about a week to heal. I truth, it's probably not a good idea to have any plans to go out for the first couple of days. My brows looked pretty dark and severe for the first 2-3 days. Once everything healed, My brows looked natural and perfect. One month after my initial visit, I returned for a touch up. Jeffery added some additional eyeliner (I was scared to make it too heavy the first time around) because I loved it so much and wanted a little more. He also did some minor touched ups to my brows. I am only 27yrs old but my eyebrows have been plucked and waxed too much since I was a kid. They were uneven and too thin. Jeffery did an amazing job reshaping my eyebrows and coloring them in. I am very happy with the results! The procedure did not hurt at all. Please keep in mind that if this is your first permanent makeup procedure, you will need 2 sessions. Worth it. My eyebrows are even, thicker, shaped, and look very natural!! I am so glad I do not have to use an eyebrow pencil everyday. I can go swimming and not be self conscious. I saw a Groupon for Jeffery Segal and thought I would try it. I understood that a second appointment would be necessary but I did not realize I would have to purchase it on top of the cost of the Groupon. He did explain this to me when I called, after I purchased the Groupon. Either way, it was all worth it and I am SO glad I did it. I had my eyebrows done. I have hair on my eyebrows but they were patchy so I thought this would be a good solution. I went one time and Jeffrey helped me reshape my eyebrows, which was very much needed, and then had them filled in. We worked well together figuring out exactly what was important to me and what I wanted. He was very open to my thoughts and suggestions. I walked out of there my first time and also thought it was heavy looking and dark. However, once they settle, they do lighten, and you also get used to the new look. I loved them and got a lot of compliments on them. About a month later, I went back for my touch up. The touch up filled in the places that were lacking color, which is hard to see after the first time, again, until they settle. I liked them after the first visit, and liked them even more after the second visit. I did go back for a third visit, about a month and a half after the second visit, to have him fill in the few missing spaces. It wasn't a lot to do at all, it was me just being anal about it. His fee was nominal but he was very accommodating. Neither time was painful. He puts a topical antiseptic on that numbs it so you don't feel any pain. I am so glad I did it and have no regrets. I can now wake up and feel good about leaving the house without having to do my eyebrows first. I would highly recommend going to see Jeffrey if this is something of interest to you. My eyebrows seriously look great. The nice thing about Jeffrey is he made them still look natural and textured, not heavy and full. read more

It seems like many of the positive reviews posted here at Yelp are prior to him offering many discounts on Groupon and other coupon sites. These days, his approach to business is to offer a big discount for the first service and not to tell you that you will need a follow-up (not included of course). He then charges you a second time for the needed followup. While his work is decent enough (I had eyeliner and it was just OK), this way to get more money out of clients seems questionable to me. You can be the judge, but I think it is important that someone forewarn you about his pricing practices. All said his work is extremely pricey (in my opinion). read more

Talks a great game but the work is sub par and outrageously overpriced (I can only imagine he uses the extra cash to buy the good reviews on here because they are not warranted). Dealing with him is somewhat akin to dealing with a back alley abortionist and a snake oil salesman. In other words, he's shady. Having many 'regular' tattoos I am familiar with the process and the fact that cosmetic tattooing is different but the word itself indicates that the work should not disappear completely after a week as it did. If you can find any place else to go -- go there. He is not worth the trouble and definitely not worth the price. I actually had an appointment set up to someone else when I learned of Jeffery, after carefully reading his very educational website I cancelled my appointmetn and schedule one with Jeffery. I had my eyebrows done and OMG I just regret not doing it earlier. I"m very satisfied and am very happy I found Jeffery. One more thing, the previous person/company was charging me less but I was so empressed with Jeffery's website that I did not mind paying more and it was money well spent. It's your face so don't cut corners, I felt comfortable and felt I was in a ver experianced hands. Jeffrey is truly an amazing artist! First off I want to say, I am extremely particular about my eyebrows, but Jeffrey gave me the most perfect natural eyebrows that I could ever hope for. He knew exactly what colors to use that would complement my complexion, and I left his chair looking perfect. It took me a long time to get the courage to get this done, because I have sensitive skin and I was afraid of having an allergic from the procedure. My fears proved to be totally unfounded. Not only did I not have any adverse reactions, the procedure itself was not painful and it was all done within a hour. It is so liberating to not have to use an eyebrow pencil every day. First visit was good but noticed my eybrows weren't really even. I believe that I was just so excited about getting them done that I rushed it. He agreed to have them redone at no charge. This time I took my time on telling him what I didn't like and when he colored them in he knew exactly what I wanted and took his time. He made sure I felt at ease. He really cares about doing his job right. I wont go into details about pricing but he gave me a fair price. Other places wanted more. After my second time I was sooooooo happy. Btw I have alopecia which I do not grow my hair on my eyebrows. I got real tired of painting them in. Now I can swim and shower and not have to worry about them wiping away, Gave me back my confidence. Jeffery your awesome! Although I will be the first one to say the artist is very experienced I feel I was really ripped off. I had paid $1,000 for my eyebrows and had 3 sessions and now two years later my eyebrows are gone they were gone in a 1 1/2 and I have never left the house without a 100 spf over them. I feel that I could have gotten the same result someplace else for $300. So needles to say I'm back at drawing my eyebrows after 3 times traveling to Chicago from Joliet. I also came in with my mother to have her eyebrows and lips done, both the lips and eyebrows are completely gone as well. Mr. Sigel also failed to mentioned that a special medication needs to be taken for the herpes virus if you ever had a cold sore the lip procedure will reactivate the virus and so needles to say my mother had a huge outbreak. Yes, it is mentioned on his website that the medication needs to be taken but as a professional you would think he would mention it before the procedure. Yes he has years of experience and talent and so do other professionals save your money and go someplace else. read more

I recently had my eyebrows and eye liner done. Jeffrey did an amazing job on my eyebrows. I had them done before elsewhere, it was a huge difference when done by Jeff. They look amazing. The eyeliner was also great, and he did make it as comfortable as it can be for the eyeliner process, and I am kind of a baby when it comes to this. I had my eyeliner and brows done by Jeffery a couple of years ago. Brows were fine, but eyeliner was a disaster. One eye had eyeliner below eyelash line and the other above and not straight line, but drawn in curves, and looked terrible. Also my eyes were badly bloodshot. The next day I called him asking why my eyes are bloodhsot and what should I do about it? He advised to go and see a doctor.....I did not have health insurance so I could not see a doctor and Jeffery did not offer any solution or explanation. When I came back to fix eyeliner I was met with hostile attitude and jokes that made me feel very unconfortable and the problem was not fixed. Later I had to go to another artist to fix my eyeliner. Jeffery does not use magnifying glass when working on eyeliner and i guess this is why the line is not straight. As I mantioned before, he was good with brows, but eyeliner is a big NO NO NO. read more
