Making an appointment was very easy as I called the facility to tell them what I wanted & about my groupon, told them the date & time I was looking at, then received confirmation that my appointment was set up! A whole week before & we were excited to find out what this was all about. The place itself is not that small but not very spacious. We arrived promptly and were asked to wait a few minutes for them to finish with the clients before us. While waiting, we were shown the different scrubs and asked to choose 1; I decided on rejuvenate. Once ready, they asked us to undress, put on the robes & shower shoes, then head over to their "scrub room." It was located next to the facility's laundry station. The actual room itself is a shower room, but felt nothing different like a shower at the gym. That sort of icky musty feeling. My friend & I sat side by side while each lady scrubbed us down from neck down to our feet (they don't go into any private areas) After rinsing off the scrub, we were brought to our massage room for the quickest 10 minutes. Apparently the 60 minutes INCLUDED the time it would take us to rinse, change, what have you.. that we were not aware of! Sigh, maybe it was a good thing as my friend was very sensitive to any pressure her lady applied to her neck & back. Mine was decent, but like I said 10 minutes isn't enough to even relax. The ladies tending to us were awesome, they chatted with us throughout our time and we had a good couple laughs all 4 of us. I'd be willing to raise their star count if they were less clustered, done a better job of maintaining their scrub room, & advise their clients AHEAD OF TIME about their timing structure.

She released so many knots and I had tears from the relief I felt . No one can ever give me enough pressure, and she was STRONG. I'm 100lb female and at no point was boda hurting me at all. BODA stayed true to a deep tissue massage, while also incorporating Thai, Swedish, shiatsu, and even sports massage techniques. She stretched my neck and back in ways that gave me a release I've never had from massage. Her vibe was calm, and sweet, and the overall place was nice. It really is a secret hole in the wall spot. This time I had Martin -- he was very friendly and fun, but not overly chatty, so I still felt relaxed. And he did a great job checking in with me about the pressure he was using, and making sure I was comfortable, at the right temperature, etc. He even managed to massage my legs a little which is no easy task -- I'm SO ticklish on my legs. I asked for medium pressure this time (medium firm last year was also great, but I wanted a little more relaxing and a little less intensity today). I'm sure it's challenging to guess what "medium" means to each person, but he really nailed it! The receptionists are always so nice too, and this time for my birthday she gave me a cup of tea and few other things after my massage. It was repetitive and often more painful than relaxing. I understand Thai massages can be deep and intense, but there's usually some balance with relaxation this didn't have that. I sensed this might be the case because I tried calling shortly after they opened but no one picked up. I got a call about 15 minutes later though. I requested 2 70-minute massages and asked for strong massages. She reminded us to bring cash for tips and that there was an extra dollar surcharge for using card (and that they did not accept Amex). She also asked us what we wanted to focus on that session and we let her know, but I felt like the therapists didn't necessarily focus on those areas too much ultimately. The massages themselves were fine. Mine started off strong during the foot massage with a nice shoulder rub. But my partner said his started off less strong during the foot massage. He also said that much of his body massage entailed massaging a lot of bone but not necessarily tissue, although the person was strong. My body massage was just okay. There was a lot of rubbing and pressure point massages but not necessarily getting out knots. Overall it was just fine and the massages themselves were more like 3 stars. For the price, it is a solid massage place -- $50 for a 70-minute combination massage (30-minute foot and 40-minute body). But it's nothing special.
