We spent nearly $9,000 on a patio cover after explaining that durability was extremely important because we have large dogs. Nobody bothered to tell us the support posts were thin aluminum that dent incredibly easily. Nobody bothered to tell us the gutter opening was so small that it's nearly impossible to clean and is lined with sharp metal edges. When we first reported these issues years ago, we were essentially told, "Too bad." One owner even admitted the gutter design had been a known flaw for over 20 years. Twenty years. Yet they continue selling it without disclosing the issue to customers beforehand. Fast forward to this year. The gutter is still impossible to clean. Leaf blower? Doesn't work. Hose? Doesn't work. Pressure washer? Doesn't work. The only way to remove debris is by reaching into the tiny opening with your hands, which has resulted in my husband cutting himself multiple times on the sharp metal. Two months ago we called because the patio cover was still under warranty. We were told a work order would be submitted and someone would contact us. Nobody ever did. So today we called again. The first employee agreed that our gutter didn't sound right and told us it should have around 3 to 4 inches of clearance. He said he'd submit another work order. Less than ten minutes later, my husband got a call from management. Not to schedule the repair. Not to apologize. Not to honor the warranty. Instead, he was told they would NOT service our patio cover because I left an honest negative Google review years ago. Think about that for a second. Their response wasn't, "Let's make this right." It was, "You criticized us, so we're refusing to help you." That tells you everything you need to know about this company's integrity. They had multiple opportunities over the years to fix this issue, earn back our trust, and prove they stand behind their work. Instead, they chose pettiness over professionalism. A good company isn't defined by never making mistakes. It's defined by how it handles them. Kool Breeze has repeatedly shown that once they have your money, accountability goes out the window. Spend your money elsewhere. There are plenty of contractors who actually stand behind their work instead of punishing customers for telling the truth.

We…read morehardly met face to face with anyone throughout the process...they took the dirt from digging the foundation and sold it to someone else...leaving us with nothing to grade with, forcing us to have to bring in 12 dump truck loads of dirt (not cheap), and the finishing work ran into some hiccups as well. The framing was not straight in our bonus room, and after bringing it to their attention may times...they did nothing about it...then the Sheetrock and finishing guys proceeded to throw up the drywall and baseboards. Still, nothing was done about the warped studs and nothing was flush. The wall looked like an elephant was leaning against it on the other side and it was caving in. I could stick my finger in between the drywall and the base board. It was pretty bad. Once we finally got over that hurdle, they tried to close the house on us prematurely. The finish work was maybe 90% done at the time? That was very disappointing to us. I wish the experience was a bit smoother. Do we love our house? You bet we do. There were just a few things that we wish had gone smoother, more responsibility from them, and more face to face time from Country West. If they improved their customer service experience a bit, i think they'll have it.

We checked with other builders before and felt we were not getting as much bang for our buck as we expected. Country West allowed us to work directly with the Architect on the plans to make some changes to make this home ours and not just a cookie cutter plan. We worked with the sub contractors directly which gave us a tremendous amount of flexibility in how the finish product came out. All of the sub contractors were very professional and when my wife had to meet with them on her own they showed her a lot of respect. All of the subcontractors were what I would consider smaller home grown subcontractors. We liked this because they seemed to take a lot of pride in their work and it showed in the finished product. Flexibility was paramount with this builder. Many builders meet with you and then you can't make changes down the road. I know this probably drives these guys crazy at times but they never show it. We were given a contact for the financing early on in the process which proved to be a huge benefit. Our closing went smooth because of their thoroughness through the whole process. Like anything it was not all smooth sailing and we ran into a few snags but how the builder responded makes all the difference. Because we had built a home before we knew that the process is very involved and there were bound to be a few glitches. They were quick to respond and make the corrections quickly. Hopefully we never have build again, only because we really like where we are at now, but if we do we will definitely give Country West a call on our next home.

This damage has caused electrical issues in my vehicle, as water is now leaking onto the passenger side floor. As a result, my electronics shut off randomly while driving. When we took the car back to the shop, the representative we spoke with denied any responsibility. They even claimed it was either my fault or caused by a previous windshield replacement. However, we haven't replaced the windshield in at least three years. Not to mention, since when does the average person--like myself--remove all the trim around the windshield and start tampering with things? Short answer: I don't. They did something to redirect the water from leaking into my car, when we took it back in, but it didn't work. Now my car is completely ruined. They don't stand by their work, and I'm left needing to buy a new vehicle. They don't care! Do not go here unless you want them to damage your car to the point where water seeps into the electronics and ruins everything. They will not stand by the work they do and are now costing me thousands of dollars.

I am a tenant at a property where the roof was replaced by David Brown Roofing. Part of my…read morebackground was being an inspector and I am now a contractor. I've done over 5,000 roof inspections in my career thus far, so I've pretty much seen it all. I know what works and what doesn't work. When the workers arrived the first day, I went out to meet the foreman and introduce the family dog. The tear off went well and they worked diligently. I was even asked if it was Ok for them to park the dump trailer in front of the front entrance, which I gladly obliged. After that, courtesy went out the window. The workers parked the dump trailer in the middle of the walkway from the rear entry to our vehicles without asking and then left it there all weekend, so we're having to navigate a new path to our vehicles for no reason. After that, they had to clean snow off of the roof several times and piled it on the main walkway over a foot deep without clearing it off. I came home that afternoon and my sick wife is out there cleaning off the walkway so she can get to the car without falling. They used our snow shovels. No big deal, but they left button caps stuck between the metal blade on the shovels and the plastic. No worries, we'll fix that. They also just left the shovels strewn about the yard. We'll pick that up too. When they left every day, cleanup was on the bottom of the list. There is trash strewn about the yard every day. They are now finished and gone and there are button caps all over the driveway. The flashing job was shoddy around the chimney. Instead of addressing the siding, which is warped from moisture absorption and generally poorly installed, they simply installed step flashing around the chimney. They didn't remove the siding and trim, which is what I would have done, they just flashed right over crappy siding and trim. The corner trim sticks out more than the siding, so I was pretty shocked when I saw how they flashed it. Then they installed a counterflashing over all of that and sealed it up, so it is functional, for now, just completely unprofessional in my opinion. When any pressure is applied to the counterflashing, it gives way, meaning it will need to be monitored. When snow builds up on the shady side of the chimney, it will thaw and freeze and thaw and freeze. The ice and snow will build up at this location and it ends up putting a lot of pressure on the flashing that has no real backing. If they had ran a 1X4 along the bottom of the chimney, the flashing would have solid backing and I wouldn't have to worry about it in the future. The roof sheathing is soft above the water heater flue, which means it is moisture damaged. This was not repaired. They also knocked the water heater flue off twice. I kept smelling exhaust inside the house and finally checked the furnaces and water heater and reinstalled it. Someone please tell the roofers that when they move an exhaust, it can release carbon monoxide into the home. In the end, I can't recommend this company. They need better oversight and training for their workers. This is especially disturbing for a company that has been in business as long as they have.
