We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a junior suite and oh-my-gosh the view is to die for. We stayed for only 4 nights as part of our 5-week European honeymoon and so far it has been the best hotel yet. The view, the staff, the hotel itself is unbelievably incredible! We will be coming back again for sure!

We opted to just sit on the patio of their second restaurant "Les Ramparts". We ordered 1. Ceviche: This was good but nothing memorable 2. Foie gras: was actually heavenly, the preserved fruits were perfectly sweet and served with slightly toasted bread. 3. Chilled creamy soup(?): The flavors were really on-point, super creamy and the chips ontop and shaved truffle gave it great texture and aroma 4. Seabass: The skin on this eas perfectly crispy and the quinoa bits were crispy and the pickled onions were sweet and tangy 5: Diorama dessert: I was most looking forward to this but was disappointed by how simple it turned out to be. It was creamy and delicious, but I felt that the pastry chef's other creations were more interesting/unique, but what sold me was they made it specially for Dior Definitely recommend paying a visit if you visit the south of France!

Our first impression was that the ambience and scenery of this hotel were like a Van Gogh painting. This hotel and restaurant was on top of a mountain with a beautiful view of the valley of Les Baux and the Alpilles Mountains. The view of the valley was breathtaking, with olive groves, vineyards, and rolling hills everywhere. There is even a view of the chateau from the nearby town from the hotel. We were greeted with great hospitality. The receptionist at the front desk took the time to show us around and asked if we needed anything. We chose the room with the balcony. There was a bar and a newly renovated pool which made for a perfect day of sitting by the pool with a glass of wine. The best part of this hotel was that it was within walking distance of the mountaintop town of Les Baux. This small village was literally right out of a Hobbit movie. The hotel is also easy access by car to St Remy de Provence. The hotel restaurant was amazing. There was an option of eating inside which was in a cave or outside, where most people did overlooking the valley. The chef always walked around each night making sure everything was ok and it felt really great to see the man who was cooking our food. Dinner felt like a real homemade Provencal meal. We were always able to order a bottle of wine from a local vineyard. Another great part about this hotel was that it was close to nearby wineries and olive groves so you can spend some days tasting French wine and olive oil. If you want to experience Southern France in a quaint and charming location with nearby access to one of the most beautiful villages in France, than we definitely recommend this hotel. You will not only receive exceptional service, but also an exceptional experience.

Philippe and his wife are wondrous hoteliers - they create a warm, stunning environment that caters to your every need. Modern and updated bathroom in the suite, the views are unparalleled anywhere in the world. I took a time lapse from the suite's bedroom window. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llEAckR2Bec Make sure to choose 720p, and make it is full screen. Quite simply, that is your view. We were in the upper room, however, I am sure the other rooms have stunning views as well. The bed was a king size.. I am 6'5" and my wife went out of her way to find one. It was SO comfortable. The gardens and property were wonderful, and the drive there was a thrill.... it is a painfully beautiful place. Philippe will act as your guide. =) The suite is far and away worth the added cost - the space in the suite, the views, etc should make it a fairly easy decision. Breakfast was wonderful, and the patio was a perfect way to start the day. They go out of their way to provide the most delicious and charming breakfast you could imagine. The living room was cute, and they even started a large fire the one morning it got misty and chilly. Philippe's gracious and caring service made him transcend the typical inkeeper, and truly made it feel like your were friend or family, and he & his wife were hosting you. His delightful pooch, Fiona, became a fast friend. It's as wonderful an experience I have ever had in my 20 years of hospitality. We will undoubtedly be back to visit, and sooner than later. You must hike the Nietzsche trail down to the pebble beach - if you are there to walk around and hike, don't miss it. We feel incomplete without Domaine Pins Paul in our lives - it affected us *that* deeply. Thank you for what you do!! We hope to see you soon!

Hotel Welcome Colleagues appreciated our ability to converse in French. Hotel Welcome colleagues were very sweet to our child. Room service so prompt and did an excellent job. Here are a few thoughts on what could be improved upon, having stayed there 3 times now in 11 years: 1. Check-in is at 3. There seems no room to negotiate this. We waited about 4 hours in lobby before room was ready exactly at 3. Now, perhaps this is just their policy but sharing for those that may arrive on an early am flight as we did. 2. Bedding situation: Mattresses are lumpy and akin to a futon. Even with a topper added, you can't hide an older mattress that needs replacing. This has been the case all 3 visits. The major issue for our family was both lack of pillows and that the pillows were not comfortable at all. We had 2 pillows for a king bed. Both felt like a hard cushion. Prior visits (2 prior stays) we had about 6 sleeping pillows on bed. Now, it's great that they have room to put in a twin bed for your child, so that is a huge plus, but a good pillow is so important for a restful night's sleep. Our child said their pillow was filled with rocks. When we called to ask for more pillows, that were also softer, the front desk told us there were no more pillows and call back in the morning. They did come up to help us shortly after, saying there should be more pillows in our room- but they were not there. 3. Prior stays, we felt really "welcomed" with a small floral arrangement and local chocolates. This time, no flowers and a smaller chocolate box. Nice but noticed the difference. 4. Not a critique but you will need to bring a conditioner for your hair. They have very small bottles, which don't go far. The bath and shampoo products are nice. Overall, we love this hotel. Rooms have balconies where you can sit and enjoy the sea. The view is incredibly stunning. It is right next to the Citadel which is lovely, and that, along with the tunnels and immediate area, really take you back in time. I think some renovations with new flooringpaint, mattresses, pillows would go a long way and better justify the price point too.

Best breakfast goodies, way above the norm. We stayed with our two adult daughters with a pull out couch and staff set up the living room bed in the evening for us, giving great attention to every detail; despite a "couch bed" everyone was super comfortable! The balcony with the small table and chairs was such a joy with the amazing views of the harbor, the street musicians, the ships coming and going, just an ideal setting! It is also right in the heart of this charming town; we walked from the hotel everywhere we wanted to go. The best, however, is that we contacted this hotel after we left asking them to look for 4 rings we left in the room and not only did they respond quickly, they found the rings!!! Then they mailed them to our home in the US! Wow, what a wonderful stay and a great luck that this is where we would leave our sentimental treasures! Thank you Welcome Hotel!

My husband & I ordered the chocolate cookie with vanilla ice cream & an americano coffee for each of us. Shortly thereafter our dessert showed up (sans coffee, which we had asked for to be delivered with our dessert). My husband tried multiple times to alert a staff member to bring our coffee, but they were too interested in taking care of a pretty young woman seated nearby. I counted 5-6 times that staff members waited on her attentively, & she was seated probably 3' from myself. We finally got up to pay for our dessert & to leave. It took us some time to find someone to pay. My husband finally flagged someone down & told the man who was going to take our payment to remove the coffees from the bill. He looked toward our table to verify no coffee cups were on our table, he flagged down another staff member to ask why we didn't receive our coffee. They started talking animatedly in French, while we waited patiently to pay for our desserts. He then asked if we wanted our coffee to go, to which my husband replied "no". It was very frustrating to watch someone else getting more attentive service & whom by the way was not spending as much as we were. It shouldn't matter whether you or staying there or not, everyone should be treated the same if you are in the restaurant near the lobby. I definitely would not recommend anyone to go there to stay or eat. We are staying at a very nice hotel nearby, where everyone seems to be treated the same. If we ever return, we will return to the same hotel to stay & we would not go back the the Hermitage for any reason! I'm very sorry I asked my husband to go in there to have some dessert, it has ruined his evening.
