Good, clean, basic accommodation, greatly enhanced by one of the employees. From check in to check out, our party of four were incredibly impressed by the charming man at the front desk. He helped us navigate the area, recommended places to eat and was just an all around great guy. Robert is a real asset to this place. Some of the guests were a bit disrespectful, noisey in the corridors late at night and early in the morning. Our room was basic but nice and clean, breakfast was decent. Grants doesn't have too many options for places to stay, I doubt there's any better than this. read more

Cleanliness needs improvement. To have the toilet and television functioning would be an improvement. My stay was horrible. Very uncomfortable. Way overpriced for what it is, we paid $203 for ONE NIGHT, had to settle because it was for us to see the hot air balloon festival. Guy working at the front was kind but a bit unprofessional. The hotel doesn't feel super safe but we were okay as 2 female travelers. I would say if you are females traveling alone, bring an extra door lock because the location is a bit sketchy. Beautiful room, until they charged us a $200 cleaning fee for "smoking in the room and Marijuana paraphernalia " absolutely bs do to the fact for my employment i can not and do not smoke Marijuana. I smoke cigarettes yes but not in their room that's for sure. Called and tried speaking with general manager what a joke, called local non emergency police and lawyer, they are taking advantage of travelers don't stay here just saying. Robert has been THE friendliest employee I have ever met. Not only does he exude the best personality, but he should be the gold standard for customer service. From check in to check out, Robert has made our stay well worth the price we paid and gave us peace of mind. Cannot thank him enough for his kindness and service. Personally, I felt like the location was great. Small, but charming town of grants right off the interstate and close to a Walmart that has just about anything you need along with some basic fast food places if needed. Perfect for a quick trip like ours. Rooms are updated, spacious, and comfortable as well. I think anyone dreads having to sleep away from your own bed, but best western has truly made it possible to recharge and relax a bit. We will be choosing BW going forward when needing to book a hotel. read more

Honestly disappointed. Upon check in staff was not very friendly. The bathtub faucet had a continuous leak and no drain plug if we had needed to bathe our baby. A towel also had someone else's hair on it when I went to use it. The rest of the room wasn't bad but just from check in we were off to a bad start. read more

Let me start off by saying, the staff here was perfectly polite and very pleasant to work with. The gentleman who checked me in was incredibly friendly and the check out process was smooth. The room, unfortunately, was dirty upon check in. The carpet in the hallway was covered in, I'm not sure what, and there were red stains on the door to the room and on the wall in the bathroom. However, the beds were super comfortable and the room stayed cool. Despite the initial turn offs with the dirty hallway and room, the stay wasn't terrible. Friendly staff and clean room. The floors are not carpet, which is really nice. The shower didn't have very much water pressure, and the sink smelled a little when you bent over to wash your face. The exhaust fan was falling out of the ceiling in the bathroom too. Beds were very comfortable, but they bizarrely shape their pillows into squares, even though they are regular rectangle pillows when you fluff them out. (We slept with them as squares the first night which was uncomfortable. We almost bought pillows at WalMart before we realized they were not really square). Breakfast hours were long, which was nice. They had fresh fruit, waffles, and a different type of hot breakfast for every morning. Overall a decent place to stay in Grants. read more

Make sure you are not near the door to the parking lot. You will be able to hear everyone walking in, door slams and the ice machine. There is a large gap at the bottom of the door where sound carries in. I stayed for two nights and came back to my room door wide-open in the afternoon, despite all my belongings being on the bed and my 'do not disturb' sign clearly hanging on the door. We gave this place a second chance, because of its location and rate. However, the people they hire for the front desk, both times, have been so unprofessional and unwelcoming. The toiletries provided are not enough for one, let alone a couple. No fan in the bathroom, and shower head awful. I'm not sure about extra cleaning measures, so we cleaned ourselves. Not good. P.S. This hotel is dirty and noisy. The bed cover was stained, and the room had obviously, not been cleaned, as the shower was dirty and even had hairs in it. After being assured that the room would b quiet, even though they allowed pets, we were woken once really early by a dog barking in a room,. That wasn't so bad, as we were able to get back to sleep Then we were woken up at 6:30am by a dog barking loudly outside out room. It made us jump up, and we could not get back to sleep. We really needed to sleep later as we had a 10 hour drive home. We ended up leaving. There was no point in staying if we could not sleep later. We could not even take a shower as the tub was filthy. I wish I had seen that the night before. When we complained to the woman at the front desk, she said that she would talk to the manager and get back to me about it. No one ever got back to me. I phoned two weeks later and was told that I could not get a refund as I had left a bad review. I had NOT left any reviews yet. I HAD answered a survey from Best Western, because they sent me one. I wasn't going to lie to them. They can't improve things unless they know there is a problem. I guess this was the review they meant???? I called my credit card company to let them sort it out. Hopefully they will be able to. And NOW, I am leaving the bad review that I hadn't left before! This hotel is not that old. They should not be having problems like that. Keep driving! This hotel is an oasis in the desert, I called late at night to see if they had any rooms available for a family of 4 and a pet,the front desk clerk was very polite and asked if I was senior or military because they offer different types of discounts which is rare for a clerk of any hotel chain to ask questions like this to get you a cheaper rate. Do not let then give you room 109. It shares a wall with the entrance/exit door. Starting around 5 am, you can constantly hear that door opening and slamming shut. Shower was dirty as well. Housekeeping knocked on the door around 930, when I opened the door she had her mask pulled completely down to talk to me. The other house keeper also had her mask pulled down. This is not even remotely okay and I informed the front desk of this. It's hard to believe this was one of the better reviewed hotels in Grants. read more

The stay here was fantastic. They had everything we needed (pool, laundry, refrigerator, full breakfast). What really knocked it out of the park, though, was the fantastic service from the fellow at the front desk. We had a one night stay at this hotel, checked in at 6:00pm, checked out 7:30am. My husband was the only one that used any of the towels and he only used one to dry off then actually hung it back up. A few hours later I received a notification from my bank of an EXTRA $15.00 charge on my credit card. I called the hotel as we were traveling and they're explanation was that there was a stain on a towel. Front desk said the maid noticed it, then washed it, then brought it up to the front desk to show them so they charged my card $15.00. Unbelievable the fraud and dishonesty. We had only been gone from the hotel a few hours and they really think someone is going to believe they saw a stain (which didn't exist) washed and dried it then brought it to the front desk to charge us. Totally disgusting that this hotel would try to make charges that weren't true. I wonder how many other people they have charged for small things they didn't do and knew that many people might not even be aware of the charge on their credit card. I'm giving this hotel a two because I received a $20 discount at check in. $117 on December 31,2021. The room After unpacking sitting in the bed, I was covered in dog hair. We found dog hair in the bathroom floor. Bathtub was filthy. We immediately called the front desk . Nobody answered and we called several times . It was snowing outside and the check in desk was in a separate building. We decided to sleep in the other queen bed. In the morning we took off the lines to find human hair all Over the pillows and bed covers . Not ours . This hotel doesn't clean everyday if you stay more then one day. I don't think the clean at al between guest. We've been in the road for over 2 days and wanted to sleep and take a shower. The guest above us did not step lightly and their child fell out of bed and their dog didn't stop scratching in through the noise night . So if you still decided to stay her ask for a room on the second floor and have them bring clean linen upon your arrival. read more

Best Western has often been one of my go-to hotels while traveling over the years, especially when my pet was with me. This Best Western in Grants, NM is the absolutely-worst one I have ever stayed in. My safety as an older woman traveling was at severe risk - someone kept moving a heavy trash receptacle to block an entry door open so anyone could enter the hotel. (I almost called the police - it was that bad.) The room was extremely dirty with a hard floor that hadn't been swept. The housekeepers had their young children with them as they cleaned (and I never before saw a housekeeper holding their handbag as they worked). Breakfast was beyond awful, including an employee doling out whatever they served what was supposed to be hot entree. The breakfast burrito doled out (rather than let us serve ourselves like at other Best Westerns) was cold and not-edible. The same employee watched and commented on us choosing to get some yogurt, etc. I understand the need to make a profit, but this Grants, NM Best Western is unsafe for women, is frighteningly dirty and the front desk and breakfast staff treated us like garbage. read more

Horrible experience. Checked in at around 3am and were trying to sleep for only 3 hours to get back on the road. The actual sleeping to hotel is away from the reception desk in the back of the hotel. They gave us a room directly in front of the door. For the 3 hours we were there the door opened non stopped and slammed. People were yelling and cussing from down the hall. I walked to the main lobby at around 530ish to express my concern and asked if anyone monitored the doors to the sleeping area of the hotel. She said they did not monitor the entrance. The restroom toilet made noise all night and the shower area is not high enough so the water leaked all over the restroom. I would never stay here again or recommend the stay. I stayed here because of other reviews. The price was very similar to any other hotel. The setting did not feel warm or welcoming. It seemed for like an hourly rate motel.
