Wow, amazing free breakfast buffet; easily one of the better ones. 4 people, 4 breakfast buffets for 75 bucks with tax is unbeatable. This hotel is old, but has had some needed renovations that you can see in contrast to the old structure. It's perfect for the night. The sheets are white, crisp, cotton, and most importantly, clean. Solid beds, firm pillows, and large rooms. The people in the dining room were super friendly at 6:30am and the food was hot and fresh! If you're passing through on a budget and aren't prissy, this place is a good stop to rest your head and fuel up. If you're put off by old hotels, slightly dated decor, and good hospitality, then I suggest you spend twice the amount for the holiday Inn down the street. . read more

Don't be totally freaked out by the reviews you will read about this hotel. After booking it on Priceline, and feeling like I got a good deal, I almost canceled my reservation just because of reviews. I'm glad I didn't--but if you pay more than $50 a night for these rooms, you will be disappointed. Pros: The front desk was very accommodating in helping me get adjoining rooms since we are traveling with young children. The rooms are spacious, clean. Each room comes equipped with a rather large refrigerator, and a microwave. I thought it was funny that the TV appears to be about 30 years old :-) Cons: when a hotel says "free breakfast" you assume it's for everyone in your room. Not so at this hotel. Each room comes with two vouchers. So if you are traveling with four people per room, two of you are out of luck. The hotel is in dire need of updating. The curtains and sheer curtains are torn and dusty. The bathroom tubs are three notches above awful. Pool and Jacuzzi are out of service. Air-conditioning in one of our rooms did not work. That being said, we were not unhappy with the room because we got such a good price. When you were just traveling through, it's not that big of a deal. This is not a place I would stay for a week. Not the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, but certainly lacking. I stayed during the week on business, and the hotel seemed quite empty. I think I counted 8 cars in the lot. Still, I called the front desk twice and the phone just rang and rang. Could they really be that busy with so few guests? The rooms are old-looking and the one I stayed in on the first floor had the remnants of major water damage (stained ceilings, bubbled plaster, etc.). Makes me wonder if they ever checked for mold. The tub seemed to be plugged up and filled with water so quickly while I was taking a shower that I had to turn off the water. It appeared that housekeeping must have noticed this during the day while I was gone, because it was indeed fixed when I returned. But speaking of housekeeping...all they did was remove used towels and make the bed. I used the coffee pot and a cup earlier, and when I returned the pot was not cleaned and the empty cup was just sitting there. Nice job. This hotel has a "free breakfast" but I guess you get what you pay for. I walked into the breakfast area and promptly walked out. All they seemed to have was muffins that looked to be from 7-11 and a bowl of oranges and apples. Good thing I had a Pop-Tart in my bag. I know this Red Lion is in a small town, but it's no excuse for mediocrity. I've been to other Red Lions that are super. Price here is very good and there is a Walmart down the street, which is convenient when traveling. read more

Checked into my room. Pushed the door open and held my breath to avoid the stink inside. The AC didn't work, so I went back to the front desk to request another room, which the friendly staff was happy to provide. Pros: -The bed was soft. -No critters (which seemed like a miracle) -Inexpensive Cons: -The 30-40 year-old carpet showed signs of a flood that happened long, long ago. -The room stunk like feet or...mold? -The top 1/3rd of the TV screen was stripes. -The tub drain plug wouldn't stay up, so the tub quickly filled up during my shower. -The faucet's cold tap turned the opposite way than it should, meaning if I wanted hotter or colder water I would get just the opposite. -The clock radio periodically made an annoying buzzing noise. -The WIFI signal was so week it was unusable -The walls were extremely thin and the baby down the hall cried and cried...and cried. -The water tasted like dirt, which meant the coffee also tasted like dirt. -The cook-to-order breakfast was cold and the orange juice was merely orange-colored water. The "waffle-maker" produced only warm dough. Would I stay here again? Not a chance. read more

The only reason I gave this hotel 2 stars is because of the price. Rooms were okay. The bed was hard and the tub was kinda worn. The free breakfast is not worth it. The waitress was rude and the food was cold. They had options of eggs, sausage, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. It's okay for a one night stay but I would get breakfast elsewhere. Checked in late at night. Wanted to use pool in morning, but pool out of service. No elevator available. Room very clean and comfortabe. The pillows were very hard. Good night's sleep, very quiet. Breakfast at,first seemed skimpy. Found out quickly that orders,we're taken for hot food items. Breakfast was,good. At around, we had a good stay at this motel. read more

We checked in late saturday night 3/15/14. The front desk man was really nice and accommodating. The room was quite large for standard room. The parking lot was especially convenient for us with our truck pulling a trailer. The price we paid was outstanding. No weight limit for dog was a giant plus. However, our stay was not perfect. When we walked in the room there was a used soap and used towel at the sink and the lotion was used and left opened. The cook to order breakfast was just... shall I say a "hot mess". People actually walked out and it was free! One waitress working and evidently overwhelmed. The food was subpar. So just don't bother breakfast and it would be a nice stay. read more

The air conditioner does not work, were put in two different rooms, coolest our room got was 80 degrees, dirty razor under our table and feces on side of bathtub as well as adhesive bandage over peephole in door. No pool- closed for repair no spa- closed for repair no restaurant- closed business desk- no on line, "has been down for 3 months" Bathroom fan louder than passing train, desk clerk said management team that bought the place refuses to put any money into it to keep it up. The staff was very helpful, the room was big and well maintained. We were traveling with our dog and they put us in a room close to an exit so we could take him out easily. The breakfast food was pretty good in the morning, I would just suggest you get there before 9 because they don't put out more food after then and they close the doors at 9:30. read more

I booked my room here via Priceline Express Deal at a fabulous price...the quality of the room met my expectations for a 2.5 star hotel. This room was quite spacious, it had a nice fridge and I found the room clean and acceptable. The biggest disappointment of my stay was the Free Hot Breakfast - We made our way to the restaurant and took a seat...in the 10 minutes we were sitting there we watch 1 very overwhelmed waitress try to juggle about 6 tables and their orders...even asking one girl about 3 times what her order was since she couldn't remember. In that 10 minutes we hadn't been greeted or had our order taken - my husband and I decided to cut our losses; ate a piece of toast and leave without taking advantage of our free breakfast...we figured it was going to take too long to eat and we just wanted to get on the road. my wife and I had a great stay here. Awesome price through priceline. Way nicer than we expected. Really great FREE breakfast, not just cereal and apples. The beds aren't terrible; if you're not a prince or princess you'll sleep fine. The TV was an old tube TV, but who cares? You don't stay in a hotel for the TV. Great deal for the price.
