The Quality Inn is a good choice if you need a place in Grant's, NM. It is a reasonable distance from both the rail tracks and Interstate 40. The hotel itself is well taken care of, has 2 stories of rooms off an inside corridor. There is a fitness room, indoor pool and a breakfast lobby that serves 0630 to 0930. Checkout at 1100. The staff I interacted with were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Our room was large, clean with a full bath, coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Good free WiFi. read more

They paid attention when we said we have pets, so we didn't get any surprise fees the way we did at Best Western. The room was large and homey and clean. My only complaint was that the door handle needed fixed a bit, but overall the stay was nice and we'll definitely be coming back. Next time I'll make sure to bring a swimsuit for the pool. read more

I spent 2 nights here. Clean room. Desk people were very kind. Wifi did not work. Breakfast both mornings was the same food. Yellow circular eggs and precooked small sausage links. This morning, they ran out of food. I sat in the breakfast area for 20 to 30 mouths. No one replenished the food. Mini waffles were very good. NOTE: the butter is kept refrigerated. There is no microwave available to melt it...so no butter for the waffles. This building has 2 floors. There is no elevator here. read more

Driving in from Albuquerque... The Holiday Inn Express was full, so this was our second choice based on reviews. Friendly staff. Clean hotel and rooms. Water pressure in shower is EXCELLENT! Only had occasional noise of running feet above us---which we drowned out by leaving the bathroom vent on all night.(TRAVEL TIP--This is our method of white noise while traveling. Note: not always available in newer hotels) En suite, Fridge and microwave and coffee maker a huge plus. Complementary breakfast consisted of cold cereal, fresh apple or oranges, frozen Jimmy Dean Sausage egg biscuit, which you can heat and eat in room, if preferred. Indoor pool and hot tub were closed when we arrived. Location is near a Walmart and other businesses. Pleasantly surprised by a good night's rest. Would stay here again. read more

You get what you pay for, and this particular location isn't a super standout or anything. But the room felt relatively clean, and the front desk was very friendly and helpful. That being said, walls are QUITE thin so if you're fortunate like me to have a some late night TV watchers then it can be a bit difficult to tune out. Also a lot of the rooms were left opened? And one of the back entrance doors had all the card readers removed so didn't feel safe? But like I said, quality was to be expected for that price and my car wasn't broken into or anything so I left happy, although perhaps not as well rested. read more

Checked in and the lady upfront was about as rude as you can get! Asked for a down stairs room and she told me I would have to take what she gives me or go somewhere else! As I walked away to get my luggage she was laughing at me because I could not cancel the reservation. Room is dated and the couch had a huge burn in it! Very quiet, comfortable and clean. We started out with a different hotel in Albuquerque but quickly could see our trailer would have been missing so we drove an hour west to Grants, New Mexico to this Quality Inn. We're glad we did! We felt so much safer here than Albuquerque! Room was clean and quiet. When we left our room, we heard a crying baby that we could NOT hear in the room. Good sound proofing. Our only issue was whomever did the bathroom finish work may need more training but overall would definitely recommend this place! read more

I am getting married tomorrow. I was with my mom when we reserved the "apartment" for my wedding in October. I personally called and requested a written confirmation of the reservation a week later. I received the confirmation via email on October 18th. We arrived today and were told that the "apartment room" we had rented for my mother, me, my brother and his wife, my best man and his wife, and my minister and his wife, was rented out and we were told that if we wanted they would give us five rooms elsewhere for only $200 more than we had agreed to pay. I would recommend not making reservations here more than an hour in advance, even if you have it in writing they will rent it out to someone else. Very clean room but has oddities for sure. Had a suite but could not watch tv from the sofa. TV was in a very nice cabinet which caused the problem. Could not pull it out enough from the cabinet.The toilet in the bathroom was so low. Looked like something that should be in a preschool bathroom and the hook on the bathroom door was at the very top of the door. No way me or my sister could reach it. Would I stay here again. (Good for my 2 small kids) The free breakfast was good as well.A mixture of pastries, waffles, yogurt and fruit. The bathtub and toilet were dirty so we didn't feel comfortable taking a shower after traveling 12 hours that day. Walked into my room and it was about 80 degrees, turned on the ac which worked but was loud it helped drown out the noise in the hallway anyway. Carpet was pretty nasty all up and down the stairs and hallway. My curtains were missing the inside curtains that let light through and the ones I did have didn't completely cover the window. Looks like they are doing renovations as there's an old window and used sponge in the hallway right outside my door. Not the friendliest or most helpful staff. I recommend stopping in ABQ or a casino keep driving it'll be worth it. Grants doesn't offer much for even a night. The whole town is laid out very strangely. I'm not a hard guy to please but I'm ready to get out of here and I've only been here a couple hours. I have to be here a few nights so I'm going to try the holiday inn or red lion. read more

Nice big room, asked for and got a room near the back off the highway, affording a great view of the mountains and both the sunrise and sunset, friendly and helpful employees. We wound up staying 4 nights, as it was the perfect base for hiking El Malpais and El Moro, and for discovering things like the outstanding Northwest New Mexico Visitor Center. It was also nice to have a Subway right across the road, since that's my #1 picnic/hiking lunch. My only complaint is not their fault: What is it with those dang Quality Inn half-size pillows?!? They've cropped up at every Choice Hotel I've stayed lately. challenge CEO Steve Joyce to spend one night sleeping on those ridiculously small throw pillows without getting TMJ. And despite the fact that the mini pillows are stuffed into normal-sized pillow cases, there's not a "real" pillow to be found on the property. Sorry for the rant friends, but my neck still hurts. Otherwise, great little place, and about half the price of the Holiday Inn when I stayed here. read more

On my way to Los Angeles, I wanted to drive as long and as far as I could before stopping at an inn. I was able to go until around 6 AM when I pulled off into Grants, NM. I was a little bummed they didn't have a Hamption Inn & Suites here, but I looked for whatever seemed the nearest equivalent, hoping the service would be comparable. I was willing and able to pay. Quality Inn & Suites has a policy that check-out must ALWAYS happen at noon. The system wants to charge me $140+ for what will be a total 12 hour stay. A more typical customer has nothing to complain about. A patron that shows up a minute past noon and stays until the next day, will be here for 24 hours and be charged about $70. I wasn't expecting their system to think too far out of the box. I'm an unusual customer that wants to stay from 6 AM to 6 PM on the same day. At worst, I was expecting a placating 10% discount. That they didn't offer me a discount is a minor complaint. My major complaint is that the staff, always polite, were totally unprepared to handle a guest that showed up at 6 AM, after driving all night, and wanted to SLEEP. With a DO NOT DISTURB sign on my door, they woke me up at noon to ask me if I was having a late check-out. In a fog, I explained my situation as I had when I checked in. They have my credit card and ID on file, I'm sure I can go back to sleep. Certainly, we can solve this issue later. Amazingly, I go right back to sleep, but only to be awoken again within the next half-hour by a more authoritative staff member carrying a walkie-talkie. She had to address the issue now! I said, "If you can give me a discount and not charge me for a whole extra day: great... worst-case scenario I get charged two days." This satisfies her and she leaves. Now, I'm awake and I'm giving my first ever yelp review! Yay. I couldn't get back to sleep. I know I will eventually and I'm half-expecting the staff to knock on my door once I do. I have now been treated like a piece of data that didn't fit in their database... What I came here for, was to be treated like a guest, so that I could sleep. UPDATE: Nope. I couldn't get back to sleep. Once I leave, within the next hour. I will have paid $140+ for staying here for about 9 hours, unless they redeem themselves on the way out. UPDATE 2: I'm adding one star because they did reverse the charges so that I was billed for just one day, instead of 2. After the experience at Quality, I was done paying for lodging and drove 10 hours straight home to L.A. read more

Would give Zero stars if I could. Had a room reserved and even toured it and confirmed it. Showed up and the room we had booked 3 months in advance was rented out. We asked if we could have another for the same price and they said no. Then called the owner and owner said to charge us regular rates. My wife is pregnant and would have had to go up stairs to the new room. The owner owns all the hotels except comfort inn so that is where I took my business there. When I went to tell them my reservations were no longer required they said they didn't care. Toxic staff and owner. No customer service at all. I would never recommend this place to anyone. We stayed one night. I was not particularly impressed. I wiped makeup (?) Off the shower, the air conditioner was loud, my dead bolt didn't seem to work, overall room seemed to need several updates. The only good thing about this place was they had parking for our truck and trailer. They put us in room 305 and once we turned off the tv to sleep we hear the pipes banging all night and when I complained the next morning the guy told me it was the pipes and even made the noise. He said it's probably the worst by our room, seriously if they know about it why would they put guests near the noise when the place wasn't even close to being full. That along with the trains going by all night and the refrigerator running all night didn't make for a very restful night. There is also no restaurants within walking distance. I told them since they had no elevator I would need a first floor room because of having a broken foot. When my husband checked in he was told it would be on second floor. No changing possible. The front desk staff was helpful and accommodating to my request with a room overlooking the parking lot.. :) We had a big moving truck so wanted to keep an eye on it. Loved our stay. Big room for a great price and everyone was super nice and we even got a crib sent up to the room for the baby which was awesome. She checked for me and called back in no time to let me know she was sending someone up with it. The only negative was when we left no one was at the counter or coming when we rang the bell and tried to check out. My husband just left a note and we called about ten minutes later and no answer on the phone. For $122 a night , sink in bathroom cracked , round bowl toilet ? (Elongated for adults) ! One should be able to get a HOT cup of coffee at the breakfast bar , ok ... will get juice , nope , no juice , machine broken ! The food they serve is processed crap , eggs taste like rubber & sausage not sure what animal it was made from ! They should try eating this before serving to their guests , and see if maybe they can get a bigger toaster that the bread they serve will fit in !! read more

The hotel did not clean my room. I let the front desk know but was informed everyone had gone home and she would be sure that they would clean it tomorrow. I let her know that I would be checking out in the morning, that would not do me any good. The next morning I told management what happened and she told me there was nothing they could do because I booked with a 3rd party vendor???? per company policy I used my corporate website vendor. I stay here a lot, due to work in the area. At best, it's 'ok', but last week it was horrible. The card key writer was down, so we had to get the desk clerk to let us in our rooms every time we left. They kept promising it would be fixed the next day, but it never was during the 4 day stay. The housekeeping staff didn't clean the tub drain trap, which was truly disgusting when it's left over from the previous guest. The carpet was filthy, the A/C didn't work half the time, and they were doing a hallway carpet replacement during our stay, which resulted in a horrible smell and lots of stuff in the air. read more

After being on the road for 13 hours we decided to pull over and get a room for the night in Grants instead of Albuquerque....BIG MISTAKE! We chose Quality Inn because the Holiday Inn Express was full. The girl at the front desk is the only reason I'm giving any stars to this place as she was very kind. We were given room 301 and were eager to get settled so we could get something to eat because it was 9pm. Within the 1st 10 minutes my 3 year old grandson yelled out that there was a bug on the floor, it was a small black beatle. So I killed it and continued to get settled in. 5 minutes later I hear "grandma there's another bug on the floor!" and found myself killing beatle #2. Then on my husbands way out the door to get us something to eat he killed beatle #3! Tried to call the front desk but the phone didn't work so I had to call the direct number from my cell phone to advise we would be checking out after being there only 45 minutes! As we were gathering our stuff to leave we noticed the room didn't have any cups or ice bucket either. The girl at the front desk was very apologetic and gave us a full refund. We ended up going across the street to the Red Lion to a much nicer room, bug free and was $20 cheaper! read more

Not a good experience. We got two rooms and I have to admit the second room seemed fine. My room...walked in and it smelled like someone had sprayed a whole bottle of air freshener right before we walked in. Then our phone did not work. They sent the hotel janitor and after 30 minutes in our room he could not fix it. The windows were stuck closed. There was a huge wet spot by the air conditioner. The additional door by our room did not work. We went to the pool, it seemed dirty. I got into the hot tub and I think the chemical balance was way off. It burned my eyes and I never even put my head in the water. The pillows were a joke. Go elsewhere. read more

On a cross country road trip I stayed at many hotel this summer.. Was actually so happy to get to this hotel after a long ride on route 40 and not wanting to stay at a casino. The room was clean and the breakfast in the am was ok.. The worst thing about this place is that the plastic piece the connects where the tile and carpet meet was lifted up. So in the early morning when i was waking up walking to the bathroom that plastic piece ripped my foot wide open. thank god i was on the tile at this point because I was bleeding everywhere... I let them know at the front desk about the lifted piece. Could of done without the huge gash on my foot, Wish they offered me some type of refund or something.. I wasn't gonna try to cause a seen there.. Even though everyone i talk to about this said i should have...... I just wanted to get back on the road.
