To our surprise, an unscheduled stop, this was a nice clean place to stay. Rooms clean and modern.

Left Kingman, AZ area at 7 pm with sister and bro in law, trying to get to central KS before my dear mother passed away. Was going to drive straight through, but got the call in Flagstaff she was gone. We were tired, grief stricken and frustrated so we decided there was no sense in driving straight through so called ahead to Days Inn in Grants and secured two rooms with credit card. I told the girl we would be very late checking in and she said no problem. We arrived at 1:30 am and believe it or not, the last two room had already been rented. She had no explanation and at that point there was no fight left in us. We trudged back to the van and left but not before I let her know her mistake was inexcusable and Days Inn was officially off our list of places to stay. No stars for Days Inn. read more

Clean. Big bed, very springy. No blankets, just a sheet and thin sheet over it. Basketball pillows. (What's up with these horrid fat pillows?) The bathroom may be undergoing renovation, but by a very incompetent contractor--the shower curtain is screwed into pieces of wood attached to the wall, the shower head is falling off the wall, and the bathtub faucet is an inch from the wall. They do have three good grab bars in the bathroom. Breakfast is coffee and energy bars. Does have good cable. Very slow internet wifi. read more

This place is odd. I was greeted by someone who seemed unfriendly, but in the end she was relatively cordial overall. I got into my room and the heater didn't work. Turns out it was unplugged. So was the coffee machine and the alarm clock - and the plate fell off the clock when I plugged it in. Who went around unplugging things? Why is there a yellow gummy bear on the floor? (I left it for the next person. Not hungry. I also left my water bottle there. Oops.) The TV lists a lot of channels, but none of them appear to be paid for? The wireless is iffy, too. We're doing great here. That aside - and there's a lot to put aside there - I had a great night's sleep. The room stayed warm and the fan stayed on constantly for background noise. The bed was comfy and the pillows were numerous and fluffy. In the end, that's really what I'm after, but I really wish they paid more attention to the little things. Nice clean rooms but bathtub needed a little work. Right off I-40. Nice helpful staff. They have washer/dryer if needed. Plenty to eat nearby as well as a Walmart. Rooms seem pretty private. They have breakfast in the morning that is ok. There is enough for someone to scrape a breakfast together. read more

My mistake for only reading the Bookings.com reviews (which rated this hotel at 4 stars). Run down rooms, almost no breakfast (pictures on Bookings are completely outdated, or of another property), no bathroom in the lobby and clerks who clearly have no idea what customer service is. I paid Less for a Better hotel in Phoenix the night before. Arrived 8pm to the night clerk and a child (her child?) starting to decorate the lobby Christmas tree. She was clearly inconvenienced by checking us in. She confirmed breakfast would be 6-10am. Got to our room to find the wall heater was unplugged (it was 27 degrees outside), so it took about half an hour to warm the room from 47 to 68. The room was run down and beds were hard. Shower was dirty, so we skipped that. In the morning, arrived to small half cup of coffee left, a few pieces of bread, some yogurt, no milk for cereal and NO oatmeal. The morning clerk was rude and annoyed at having to make more coffee, and she told us it would take too long to make more oatmeal. She finished one carafe of coffee, and as she started the second my mom asked if the first was ready. She completely ignored her! My mom asked again, ignored again, so my mom got coffee when she finally moved out of the way. While she worked on the coffee I stood at the counter waiting to turn in keys and get a copy of my bill. She rudely said I would have to leave the keys there until she was done. She did bring me my bill when she eventually got back to the desk. Again, Bookings.com pictures are all wrong. There was NO hot food (eggs or meats) and definitely NO waffle maker. SO Disappointed. read more

This place is a dump. The room had a nasty odor. The chairs in the room were stained like someone urinated on them. The door looked like it previously been kicked open and the lock was busted off. The price online showed at least $20 cheaper than what I was charged. The wifi was super slow. The "complementary" breakfast was supposed to open at 6 and the clerk didn't show up to set it out until 6:40. And then the clerk didn't even know how to make coffee. She told us we had to wait until the next shift came on. I was to scared to try breakfast after that. I would not recommend this motel to anyone passing through. read more

It feels weird giving 5 stars to a motel, but it's definitely 5 stars compared to my expectations. I figured for $50 per night it would be dirty and the rooms would smell like smoke. Place was clean and the room was big. I'll stay here again. Update So, I made a rookie mistake bay reviewing this place and giving it 5-stars before I took a shower. The water changes temperature randomly, and it feels like the soap won't come off. In the scheme of things, not the end of the world, but worth a star deduction. The shower was just as clean as the rest of the room. I'd still stay here again, especially considering the holiday inn down the street quoted me $130 last night. read more

I stayed at this Days Inn in April with my wife and two dogs. I paid $20 for each dog. The room was clean, cozy and warm. The colors and the layout of the rooms were well thought out. The temperature at night was 32° and the room was sealed so well from the outside we never felt any discomfort with the heat off. Across the street is a Subway, to the left a gas station and then a Denny's restaurant and a Walmart for our convenience. We had anything we wanted right there. read more

Keep driving! It's not worth staying in this town in general when you can get a much better hotel in Albuquerque. This was one of the higher priced and better rated establishments in the area, and it's one of the dirtiest hotels I've ever stayed at. Basic cleaning of rooms shouldn't be only available to places you spend 100+ dollars a night on. I got to the hotel late, around 9, after a long drive from Gilbert, Arizona. Check in was relatively simple for the hour. I took less than three steps in my room and found various bugs between different stages of living and dead in the room. A spider and an ant. Ok that's fine. Kinda in the middle of nowhere some creatures are to be expected. But there were two very large deadish thing near the table, which leads me to assume they didn't vacuum, or else why would they be there? I was wigged out a little bit because if there are already a few dead bugs right by the door, what am I gonna find under the sheets? At the very least the front desk girl was understanding and gave me another room, hence the only reason for 2 stars. The second room was still dirty, but with far less carcasses so I tried to make due. I was tired and wanted to sleep. On both beds there were human hairs (not mine) on top of the sheets, in between the sheets, just all over. Late that night, as I was pulling up the sheets, I found a brown stain that looked like a skid mark. Thankfully, there was another sheet between so I didn't have to have contact with the questionable stain. All in all, I was very concerned the next morning about my personal cleanliness. Also, the AC doesn't work well and looks like the unit is from the 70s. It was fine for the night but if it was a hot, New Mexico summer day the room would be miserable. read more

Absolutely disgustingly filthy I went through 2 rooms with thick dust on every surface, dead bug on floor in bath with mildewed tile grout, dirty coffee pot with used coffee filter still in it, totally frosted up freezer, dirty microwave, grey,brown, and stained towels, dirty marks all over walls, plug in bedside lamp didn't work which I didn't discover until next morning when my phone wasn't charged, I was 2 days on 12 hour/day road trip too tired to switch motels had my own sheets towels pillow coffee pot thank god didn't even dare pull back bed sheets read more

I just stayed here. The room was clean, and everything worked. It was a nice place to stay for a night. It was very quiet and it was very easy to find, and easy to get on and off the freeway. Two gas stations very close too. I also like the free towels to clean your windshield. The air conditioner work as well as the heater since I needed both. The breakfast was nice. They had eggs with cheese omelet and sausage. You could make your own waffles or have toast. A very good selection. I would stay here again if I was in the area. The only thing I didn't like that it didn't have the shops that the billboards said on the freeway. Well they did but they were on the other side of town which was only a few miles down the road. Pros: convenient to I40. Large, clean room. Desk clerk was pleasant. Cons: pet deposit was $22.50!!!! WTF???? In all the motels/hotels I have ever stayed this is by far the most I've been charged. Coffeemaker was missing from room. I let front desk know and was told someone would bring one. Two hours later, still no coffee maker. Time for bed. This place got a 4 star from me because of the staff. Backdrop....I just drove 14 hours with my wife, a car and a dog. Yup!!!! After about 785 miles in 14 hours we arrived. We called in our reservation about 54 miles from the hotel. That's part was perfect. We arrived and we were treated with a smile by Julie. I complained about how long my day was and she smiled and continued to work to process us into our bed quickly. Then I asked where to get liquor, with a smile she laughed and said, "it must have been a long day". With a smile she directed me to a close spot. After picking up our supplies we went back to park, unload and relax. I drove around the hotel looking for the right spot to park my unprotected trailer of household goods to no avail. I went back to speak to Julie and ask for a room a on the corner with light and no other cars, she accommodated. I went to the room an open the door and too my surprise, it missed the list of "still under renovation", not a problem. I walked back to explain and without hesitation, Julie apologized to me....lol. So professional. Upon request for one more room she quickly, and with a friendly smile, handed me new keys and offered another apologizes. To the owners and managers, you have a gem in that one One more note, I saw numerous people diligently working around the property keeping it well prepared for every guest. Accommodation was adequate and the front office clerk was very warm. However, the reservations clerk was very incompetent to say the least. I called and made a reservation for one night at this place. We went to the place and it turned out that she placed my reservation at a different site. I asked to cancel it and transfer the reservation to this site and she said No.I told her that we made reservations at this site not at the other one. She put our reservation at the Santa Fe,NM site instead of the 1504 Santa Fe Ave. Grants,NM site. I asked to speak w her supervisor and she connected me then disconnected me. Very disappointing that she would not own up to her mistake and transfer the reservation. Fortunately, we can call the credit card company and complain about this unauthorized charge read more

Saturday night we went to bed. Sunday morning at 3:20 a.m. the piercing smoke alarm went off three times, shocking us awake. There was no fire nor smoke. I called the front desk twice, letting the phone ring for several minutes each time. No answer. I dressed and went to the front door. It was locked, and no one could be seen inside. I banged on the door repeatedly, loudly, with both fists. No one appeared. I finally went back to the room, and back to bed. Shock kept us awake for a while, but after we'd finally gone back to sleep, then around 6 the smoke alarm began chirping every 20 seconds, waking us again. It was awful. Now to be fair, the next morning the clerk refunded the whole amount of our payment, even while maintaining there was someone there last night (if so, s/he never answered the phone or the door). We'll never go back there. read more

Clean, kind and comfortable. Price is flat rate $70 weekends. Older but still nice enough for the price. Small breakfast available which is nice when travel through with kids. Staff is really kind and helpful. All rooms are now non smoking but our room still had the smell everywhere. Bring your air freshener just in case. read more

Woke up at 2 a.m. to realize the air conditioner wasn't working and phoned the office. It rang about 20 times with no answer. Next day reported it to the office where he denied we even called....said he was there all night. All the same he did not answer nor did he care the next day. Horrible customer service. Not sure which was worse-no a.c. or having to deal with the front desk. read more

Stayed here passing through from NorCal to Louisiana. The Google reviews are pretty bad and old, so I thought I'd add an updated comment here. Pros: The rooms have gone through some renovations....new carpet, new bedding, mattress, window treatments, etc. Our room was very clean. The front desk girl was very nice and immediately provided us with a crib in the room. They gave us a nice government rate. They are pet friendly. There are restaurants nearby that deliver. The pizza place was great! Cons: they charge $20/pet! The TV was old school and had a horrible grainy picture. You have to hold down the handle to flush the very loud toilet. The free breakfast only had 2 cereals, oatmeal and raisin bread...that's it! There's a Cusinart single cup coffee maker in the room but I found the coffee to be weak and tasteless. I'd recommend using 2 discs! You can quickly scold yourself with their ridiculously hot water. Would I stay here again? Sure. read more
