I stayed there three weeks ago. I had an emergency at my house and I needed someplace to sleep. I was desperate. So I decided to go to best Western on Monte Vista Avenue in Vacaville California. If you like a key card that has to be re-keyed 12 times. Literally it had to be repeated 12 times. I was denied entry into my room and had to go to the office and get a new key card 12 times in one evening. The room was musky and dank It took at least 16 hours to get that taste out of my mouth. The room was clean, but the curtains did not shut the light out, and I could not completely be hidden from the outside. The people who work there are a special kind of people. That includes the punk rocker who had the 10 inch rooster tail on the top of his head. I've got nothing against rock rock or punk rockers, but, come on. There was so much illegal traffic and ladies of the night staying there that I was terrified. I didn't know if I was gonna be attacked or car jacked when I was there. I asked to speak to the manager and I was brushed off regarding the room. They offered me another room on the second story and it smelled just as bad as the first one. I never got to talk to the manager. At that point I was done. I guess I threw out the 11th key card. Best western is more like, worst western! read more

Was homeless because the sale of our house was taking so long to close . They wanted us out within 30 days so we packed up but none of the paperwork was properly in order. This will be the last time we'll be staying there. My wife fell in the parking lot due to the poorly constructed storm drain inlet in the parking lot. Put out the sign for housekeeping to make up the room. Was left in the same condition as we left before leaving the room. Had to go to the lobby for fresh towels. Front desk person was unavailable when we arrived. Sign said "back in 10 min." Different crew member arrived on shift and checked us in. There was another sign on the counter that said chips and snacks were available. I asked what kind of chips---the gentleman who had taken the 10+ minute break said they were out of snacks. They gave us a key to a room that was already occupied. The next set of keys opened an unoccupied room. A room that smelled of marijuana and the bathroom fan was on. Now we're wondering if the employee who was on that 10 minute break had been using the room? Gave us the wrong key to give the bathroom fan time to clear out some of the smell? The man who checked us in was nice enough. The room was tidy, the bed was nice. There was red candy stuck to the back of the sink faucet. There was black mold on the ceiling over the shower. We slept well. I related the above story to the gentleman at the desk when we left. His expression was telling when I mentioned they were completely out of snacks (apparently they are not out of snacks.) He apologized profusely for the actions of the other 2 men, who are new-hires. He apologized for not being able to provide any type of compensation for the less than stellar visit. I wasn't looking for compensation, just reporting the weird events. This was the only place available for less than $300/night. Won't stay there again, but that bed wasn't bad. read more

I stayed at the best western heritage im for one night, and was very satisfied with my stay. The staff were very nice and everything in the room was very clean. The beds were very comfortable and I very much liked my experience. Because my room wasn't near the freeway side, I didn't hear much noise. We were on a road trip with our dog and stopped for the night at the BW Heritage Inn in Vacaville, CA. It was one of the worst experiences in all of our trips. We thought that Best Western was a quality brand so we trusted booking a room there, Apparently, there was a party in a couple or more rooms; since there was no "quiet hours" policy, there was loud music being played late into the evening as well as loud conversations right outside our room. This constant noise and commotion caused our dog to bark incessantly in response. In addition, the non-smoking rooms smelled heavily of tobacco use. There were no other available rooms b for 2 days but did on the ground floor so we were stuck in that room; as a gesture of goodwill, the manager approved a refund of the pet fee (which has not yet been confirmed to our credit card billing). The front desk attendant had only been on the job for 2 days but did a very good job of trying to address our concerns and was extremely apologetic for the inconveniences we experienced. Unfortunately, his good intentions did not convert into tangible results. This motel made me feel very uncomfortable. I actually thought about leaving, but I required a pet friendly room. The bed was really the only good thing. The sheets were crisp and bright white, however the rest of the room was worn and not clean. Walls and doors were stained, luckily my friend brought me Clorox wipes. The balcony was covered in dirt and leaves with no furniture. I wiped everything down because it just didn't feel clean. The water in the shower was reversed and the toilet would not flush. Stay somewhere else. So now today, 6/19, they are saying I shoved a towel in the toilet and plugged it up. Ridiculous!! This place is a joke. I complained to Best Western customer service the night I arrived, 6/17. When I notified them about the toilet not flushing they said it was not a problem. It just needed to be plunged. In the email they sent to customer service they said they were going to charge me 150. for toilet repairs. Unbelievable, when you think you should pack up your car and leave, do it! I wasn't too happy about having a smoking room, but that was all they had and the hotel was close to the event I was attending. I thought to myself, "A smoking room can't be that bad." The bed was actually comfortable. It wasn't until I decided to take a bath that I was disappointed. It was obvious that there was some maintenance work needed and also poor example of handyman skills. I noticed a hole at the bottom of the plastic/fiberglass tub and a huge hole in the wall next to the tub. The hole could have been covered by a small piece of base board but wasn't. The three light fixtures in the bathroom had some sort of film on them. It looked to me either smoke residue or some kind of water damage. As far as I can tell, they could easily be taken down and washed. Apparently, there was work done on the toilet as evidence of the poor calking job around the base of the toilet. Needless to say, the bathroom was not hotel quality. I was expecting to see a cockroach or ants (this happened to another patron in the reviews) coming out of the walls. If you want affordable, then this is the place for you, but for $20 to $40 dollars more you can stay in one of the many new hotels in Vacaville. Do the research. Unfortunately, I didn't. I just recently stayed here this weekend as it was my gfs baby shower in Vacaville and I cannot complain about the affordable prices. The hotel is definitely a no frills hotel but was clean, had all the necessities and was centrally located near many restaurants and shopping places. The bed was clean, comfortable and had crisp sheets. The shower had nice pressure with a sink inside the bathroom and outside the bathroom. I liked this little area to get ready and blow dry my hair without any bathroom steam. All the towels were clean too. Loved that this room had a closet to hang your things, a full ironing board, a fridge and even a microwave. Some fancier hotels don't even have this! Not sure why this place got such low reviews. It's a decent place to lay your head for the night and I'd definitely be back when I come to visit my friend. The front desk staff was nice when checking me in. They also had complementary breakfast and not just continental. Breakfast had options of eggs, potatoes, sausage, cereals, oatmeal, fruit, toast, yogurt, bagels, waffle station where you could make your own, uncrustables and jimmy dean sausage breakfast sandwiches if you're on the go. To drink there was coffee, canned OJ, apple and grape juice. We made sure to take advantage of the breakfast the couple days we stayed. They also have an outdoor pool, no jacuzzi. Stayed at this location this past weekend for a crafty event in Dixon, second time staying here. And like last time it was very nice, no frills but no complaints. From the comfy beds and fluffy bath towels to the self serve breakfast everything was quite nice and I will be staying here again. All the staff at the front desk were both professional, kind and very helpful. Eddie was the gentleman that was always at the desk first thing in the morning and is as sweet as can be. DO NO STAY HERE. I can not stress this enough. I drove from Seattle to sf and got tired and this was the cheapest place online but it is not worth it. Pay the extra $20 for a decent place to stay. I was given a hotel room and it was so raggity. There were holes in the carpet and when I sat on the bed it literally flipped over. THEY PLACED US IN A ROOM WITH A BROKEN BED. I called and asked for a different room. The second room the placed us in was not clean. The trash was not taken out. It looks like someone was ready there and it looked like the beds have been slept in. On top of that the room smelled like smoke. We didn't even put our stuff down. We went right back to the front desk. The third room they put us in as in the best condition but still was not clean. There was literally a pube on the sink. We were in town for a Girl Scout celebration. We rented a room with 3 queen beds. We were given a room with 2 queen beds and one much smaller. The pool is closed for renovations. A light in the room gets much brighter every time the air conditioner surged. The people at the desk are amazing. The breakfast bar is very nice. In May I stayed at the Best Western in Vacaville. To allow my daughter and her family to grieve the death of infant daughter by themselves. My reservation was for four nights. The first morning I got up to go have breakfast in the lobby, went to brush my teeth, and there were ants crawling all over the sink and up the walls. I thought I was going to throw up. I packed and went to lobby. When I told the girl fixing food - the only one there at the moment - she said, "Oh yeah, I've heard about those ants." Then the person on duty came in and said they would not make me pay for the next three days but would not refund me the money from the night before! I had nowhere to go because I could not check into another hotel until 3:00 without paying for that day (that was already paid at Best Western). AND I had to pay for my breakfast that was included at Best Western. I called Best Western Customer Service and they told me they would refund me the money of form of a check sent to my house. It's been two months now. I have contacted them but no answer. I would never stay at a Best Western now. And i would stay away from the hotel in Vacaville. It's too antsy!! read more

Staff was very friendly but I won't stay here again unless I absolutely have to. The doors weather strip was broken and left a drafty 1 inch gap under the door. The door had a deadbolt but the top latch was either removed or broken off. It felt unsafe and unsanitary. I went in last night and asked for a room with a balcony, went into the room there was no balcony so we call the front desk and he basically said oops nothing we can do. We realize the sink and the TV doesn't work as well, we call again and when he answers i hear "ugh, these guys again" . All we asked for was a new room and he said it wasn't possible, today when checking out i spoke to the manager and he said how easy it would be to just switch me to a different room. manager was no help at all sadly. As well as my $50 deposit from 3 days ago i still have not received, and lastly, i was told by the front desk we could check out at 12pm, a man worker comes in without knocking first WHILE IM CHANGING trying to get us out before the time we were told. This hotel is a dump! We booked this hotel for our daughters softball tournament in the area. We arrived around 6pm with our daughter and niece. We had every intention of arriving much sooner, however it took nearly three hours to make the drive from San Francisco due to a car on fire on I80. We arrived, and immediately noticed the unsightly characters in the parking lot smoking cigarettes. In addition, there were people smoking weed in their car in the parking lot. Next thing we noticed was the filthy pool! We checked in, and my husband brought the two girls up to the room while I was unloading the car. I didn't even finish unloading the car before he was coming down saying we weren't staying there. I went upstairs to check it out. There were stains on the carpet, stains on the bedspreads, and the bathtub was filthy! My husband went to the lobby to tell them we wouldn't be staying there. Since we booked through Expedia, I contacted them. Expedia requested the refund of $144.00, the hotel denied the request. My husband then called the hotel the next day, the manager said that we arrived after check in time, so they would not give a refund. He tried explaining to them about the traffic, still not budging. I then contacted Best Western corporate who said it was up to the hotel, and they would contact them. The hotel still denied the refund request! The room was old, and our room was right next to the freeway. Literally 10 feet from the freeway and there was nothing that can stop or slow down a car or a truck from plowing down to our room. We were up here when it was in the high 90s and the pool was down for the duration of our stay. My kids were so bummed. The management was like something's broken and that was that. You can hear people above us walking and they were trying to walk normally. That tells you this place is old as dirt. I gotta rethink about BW from now on. They have really let me down. read more

I booked from Best Western website and advertised a 2pm check in. I was happy to see the early check in time because my family and I had been evacuated from our home that morning at 5:00 am due to wild fires and we had been stuck in our cars with our animals in 103 degree weather. I called the front at 1 pm to confirm the check in time very nicely asking if by chance they had a clean room and we could get our room ( just a question)was told " NO UGH ma'am our check in time is at 3:00 pm and I don't where you got the 2:00 pm check in time from." I immediately said from your company's webpage and is there anything that could be done considering the fact they advertised this on their own site? The woman was rude, unhelpful, dismissive and that was just the begging of the nightmare stay. From that moment I encountered empty front desk to check in after 20 minutes greeted by rude representative, no answer of front desk to set wake up call, or phone is busy at front desk for questions like can I get some soap , rude and loud employees yelling at customers to get out of room or calling the cops, extra fees $50 they do not mention on website they say it's deposit for "incidentals" then you won't get the whole $50 back unless you call corporate, the furniture is old, dingy, scratched and sticky, light bulbs burned out, foul smell in room is horrific cross between cigarette smoke, pee, fried chicken, wet dog or mildew they should have a game " name that smell" oh gross dirty stained sheets, ants in bath room, and the gardener blowing ashes from wildfires in the parking lot at 7am all over cars, my families face my dogs snouts, and WHO DOES THAT??? Also this had nothing to do with COVID 19 or wildfires or me acting like a "Karen" not the case here the hotel was dead and not at capacity because I asked! I understand a reasonable amount of slack due to unforeseen issues during this time I'm reasonable but this was unacceptable. This inn/motel was rated exceptionally clean and I had good experiences with other best westerns so I decided to give this one a try. First of all, the wood floor in the king suite was dirty. Visibly dirty where you can see a dirty shoe print. I wiped that small section of the floor down with a wet towel and the towel turned black. Went to use the toilet. I noticed liquid stains on the seat. It appears to have been cleaned but I assume it's just Lysol and they just smear it around, leaving it to dry and therefore leaving that stain. So that's kinda gross that they don't actually wipe it down and dry it with a separate towel. Furthermore there were a few dried poop stains on the inside of the bowl. I saw a small bug crawling in the tub. I didn't go down to investigate. It didn't look like a flea but it could have been a small ant. I tried to watch tv but couldn't find the remote anywhere. I had high hopes for my out of town stay but I'm sadly disappointed. It really is a mixed review. Read on to see why. The morning staff was great! I got to check in a little early since my room was ready and the lady at the front desk couldn't have been nicer. I got the exact room I wanted.... I just wish I'd gotten it someplace else. I do have to say the room has some upgrades and all in all INSIDE isn't too bad but the housekeeping staff could use some pointers. I had to drive in to San Fran for business so I was gone most of the day and when I got back around 5pm there were multiple people two inches from their room doors smoking. Last i checked the law is 25' from any operable door or window. So there's pretty much a revolving door or smokers hanging in the foyer puffing away while it blows into everyone else's room.(by everyone I mean me) I called downstairs and instead of being proactive the girl at the desk says if I go out and identify who it is she'll then call and say something! I don't know but maybe it's the three clowns in the corner drinking beer, being loud, and oh yeah..... SMOKING! Now my room smells like an ashtray and if I get charged for it we're going to have a problem. SO while I'm in the shower I notice something in the corner... Yep, you guessed it, a mildew farm! I could see if it was a little but it'd been there a WHILE because there's a ton of it in both corners. SO gross! If it wasn't prepaid I'd just leave and go someplace else. I'd stay at the place where they leave the light on for me if it didn't stink and have mold in the shower! Not only will I NOT be back, I wish I wasn't here now!!! read more

Me and my husband stayed here last week. We went to cache creek and stopped off here around 3am, HOPING to get some rest before heading home to San Jose.. We got absolutely NO SLEEP!! From the time we laid down there was so much noise upstairs!! Finally at 8 am I couldn't take it anymore. At first we thought the place was haunted lol because all we heard were footsteps pacing back and forth then I just got plain pissed off. At 8am there were literally about 20 young kids standing right outside our window being so unbelievably loud. They must have been on some type of over night field trip. We were so angry and my husband went to speak with management and they refused to refund our stay ( even though there were many other complaints ) Very DISSATISFIED with service!!!!
