Stayed here last night: not good. We love Marriott Residence Inns and the actual rooms of this one are fine. We stayed in a two bedroom suite, and the layout was great. Bed was comfortable, although had a few long hairs that were stuck on the sheets when we pulled back the comforter. We removed and moved on. Service when we showed up at 8:30 was weird. The front door was locked, and everyone who worked here seemed like it was their first time working a hotel. We told him we drove in and he didn't mention paying for parking until we were about to leave the desk. I asked in the morning to split the bill and the front desk worker told me "I wouldn't know how to do that" and said she couldn't. Weird. The hotel fire alarm went off at 6:30am and we all started to evacuate. It turned off 3 minutes later, so we went back into our rooms. Called the front desk who gave absolutely no guidance and said "someone walked all the floors and it looks fine, so do what you'd like". It went off again at 7:45 and again at 8. Breakfast was minimal and they were out of loads of stuff when we went down at 7. Seems like a really great hotel if they could get some qualified staff and work out kinks. read more

So far so good. Room is decent. Love the kitchen. Tv a bit hard to navigate. Lobby is spacious and inviting to work. But, the printer doesnt work in which make it difficult for me to work. Friendly customer service. Breakfast is average. At least there is coffee. Heated indoor pool. Very dark though I dont lnow where the switches are or why it wasnt turned on. No jacuzzi. read more

After a 5 day stay, the stars are dropping here. First day started as a 5 star but then.... Food and lack of it got increasingly worse as we stayed for breakfast. Almonds, yogurt, ran from very low to disappearing. Scrambled Eggs got so cold by today they were refrigerated cold and grainy like they did not stir the mix very well. No more breakfast sandwiches to grabs and go Lack of fruit, one choice now Coffee still good. No mustard, no mayo to be seen. Residence Inn properties are our Favorite place to stay when traveling . However, this specific property was disappointing. We had another party staying at Hyatt House up the street and really wished we would have booked there. This did not meet the standards we've come to expect from Marriott. The hotel lobby and dining area were nice and clean. The lady who checked us in, Pearl was very nice and let us check in early. The room was clean-ish. Bed was clean and comfortable. Sofa cushions looked like they need to be replaced. A little deep cleaning in crevices wouldn't hurt. The door to the bathroom definitely needs some attention. The paint is chipping off, it was dirty. The wall next to the sink had some splatter marks of Something which was kinda gross. Now this is where a lot of our disappointment came. We always look forward to the complimentary breakfast. We came down about 1/2 hour before it was over and there was pretty much nothing left. They were not planning on making anymore eggs or bringing anything else out either. The lady attending to the breakfast was nice and was explaining that she didn't have enough for the rest of the week, but I don't think this is the guests problem. It felt like portions were being rationed. One side of the toaster was not working and after standing there for a few minutes the lady finally says it's not working. There wasn't even enough coffee for a full cup. This stay has me really confused and makes me question whether we need to move on from Marriott and try something else. Very good stay - comfortable beds and really decent pillows! A lot of places the pillows suck and are flat but not here! Quiet location. All the staff I encountered were so nice and helpful when needed. The free breakfast was hot and on my last day - OH MY GOODNESS those eggs Marcia made - DELICIOUS! She really put some love into that mix and creativity to make a 'mix' into something you want to eat again and again. I do have to say the $12 per night they charge for parking is a bit silly. I was there for 2 nights - I don't recall paying for parking at any other Residence Inn (or Marriott) I have stayed at in California and this just seemed like a way to make money. Since it is fairly remote, there is no reason for them to worry about anyone BUT someone staying there parking in the lot, there's just nothing that close. Now I was informed that they charge for parking year round because during Black Friday (a ONE day event) people from the outlets do park in their lot. I'm wondering if those people pay but just know that you will have to if you stay there. Parking aside, I would DEFINITELY stay there again and recommend it to others. read more

This motel's elevator has been out of order for more than 2 years... People with disabilities need an elevator .. they advertise that motel has an elevator but when your room is on the 3rd floor and when you tell the staff to commodate on first floor they can't and lie to you about getting a refund... This is the most bare bones Residence Inn I've ever stayed at. I think the management must be super cheap or something. But, it was clean and quiet, and the beds were comfortable. It was just what our family needed for a crash pad late last night. *Towels are nice and fluffy, and the rooms are generally comfortable. We had a two bedroom suite, with a king bed and bathroom on one side, a queen bed and bathroom on the other, and a kitchenette and sitting area between. The couch is a smallish one, NOT a sofa bed. The kitchen was kind of dated, but had a decent array of dishes and cookware. You'd want to wash it all; some looked dirty to me. Even wine glasses are there! *The breakfast was abysmal. We went to Sprouts for things instead. Cheap breads, corn flakes, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, just a few yogurts (which we are allergic to), scrambled eggs (pourable from a carton kind), mystery meat sausage patties, and not good coffee. This was a surprise, since over stayed at many Residence Inns that have had special things like brie cheese, smoothies, even an omelet bar! Not so here. *They packed up everything promptly at the end of breakfast. This is not a hotel that offers coffee during the day, another surprise. *The elevator is broken and being replaced. We had a lot of luggage and got to haul it to the third floor. Not so fun. *Staff were friendly enough. *The silver lining was the price. $209! No added parking fee. For that I'd absolutely stay here again. I'd rather pay less for a room and get my own good breakfast stuff than pay $100+ more for processed foods, so I guess that worked out. *There is a patio area with a grill and seating. read more

Clean, quiet, comfortable, no frills kinda stay. PROS: The exterior of the property was neat, clean and tidy. The common areas were always neat, clean and inviting. There volleyball and basketball courts in the front of the building. There's a small courtyard on the side of the building complete with outdoor seating, a fire pit, and a propane grill. The staff were all incredibly nice, especially Joyce at the front desk. One of the sweetest people I've ever met!! The epitome for hospitality. The hotel is fairly easy to navigate, whether by elevator or by stairs. This property has plenty of parking (I understand that there is a fee for parking for short stays. I would call the hotel for more details on that) There's ice cold lemon water available at the front desk at all hours of the day and night. So refreshing! The room was spacious, clean and quiet. I had a couch with an ottoman, a huge desk, an end table and lots of surfaces for all of my things. I think they've set this place up in such a way that the bedroom of one room is connected to the kitchen of another room (on the other side of the wall), so that the living areas of both rooms are spaced out and not connected either side of the wall. This definitely makes for a quieter stay. The linens were delightfully coarse and absorbent. I got dry quickly, and managed to get in a little exfoliation as well. The in-room iron was great. Weird thing to comment on, I know, but on too many occasions, I've had hotel irons that sputter hot water and/or have a poor steaming function, which makes ironing an impossibly long chore. However, this one was excellent! CONS: It seems like the property is understaffed and the front desk staff are doing everything that they can to keep the ship afloat (bless em!). I called the front desk one morning and asked for a box of tissue and some additional towels. I was told that I would have to come down and get them from the front desk because there was only one person working there at the moment. I did not see a housekeeping cart on my floor the entire stay. I understand that hotels cutting back on housekeeping services across the board, but throughout my stay, the only one I saw was on the floor below me as I was making my way to my room. As a result, guests started putting their discarded towels and bags of trash in the hallway on the off chance that a housekeeping cart would come by. Unfortunately, some of those items were in the hall for days. I went to the front desk to make them aware, but based on how unsurprised the gentleman at the front desk seemed by the news, I'm guessing that this is becoming a common thing. The complimentary breakfast was ok... Definitely worth what you paid for it. In California, they usually offer both pork and non-pork breakfast meat options. Unfortunately, they only had pork here. I don't know if I came down too early or if they were just out of a few things but there was no butter for the toast / bagels, no cheese for the eggs... Things like that. And unfortunately, I didn't see anyone on the floor to ask. The shower fixtures were conspicuously dated, covered in lime scale and offered, at best, a mediocre stream of water. There were no spare rolls of toilet paper in the room. Be sure to get one from the front desk ****** All told, this was a very pleasant stay. The rooms were incredibly quiet. I got a good night's sleep. I felt safe staying there. I was able to make it in and out of the hotel as I needed to, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating, ensuring that I had everything I needed. If I ever find myself in Vacaville again, I would not hesitate to return. read more

We had a decent enough room but the beds and pillows were awful, the internet was painfully slow, and they were charging for parking, which seemed ridiculous given the location and abundance of land. Although there were some hiccups in the reservations that was set 3weeks prior. At arrival, I was told that the room I ordered was unavailable. Instead they offered an additional room with no extra charge. Had 2 rooms total, i guess it's a blessing in disguise. Hubby and I were in one and my 2 kids in the other, we definitely had the extra space. We used the amenities such as the pool, fire pit, patio lounge and bbq grill area. Staff was extremely nice too, staff allowed us to hang out there until 11pm. Great full that they extended the welcome allowing us to stay after hours using the patio area. My mistake not checking the reviews before booking this hotel. I have stayed at a lot of Marriott brand hotels and this is by far the worst. The staff is very friendly and the exterior looks recently remodeled. The breakfast was very good. The room was garbage. We arrived around 10pm and when we checked into our two bedroom, it stank like fried food. We were tired so went straight to bed. The walls are paper thin. You can hear anything going on the other side, even light talking. The pipes are poorly run and if someone uses a toilet in the middle of the night from the floor above you, you'll get woken up. If we didn't pay so much and for a better room, I wouldn't be so pissed. The next day when we got back from our swim meet I called 2x to have someone address the smells. We waited 2 hours. Nobody came. We got fleeced on this hotel stay. If you get a really good rate for a basic room and bring ear plugs, you will probably be happy. Stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days this month. Nice, comfortable and clean. I had asked for no room service/housekeeping during my stay and was informed that they wouldn't be providing those services due to the pandemic for any stays that are less than 7 days. They picked up trash from outside of room and you can pick up clean towels from the front desk. Other than 1 night of rowdy neighbors my stay was quiet and peaceful. The room felt secure and I was able to open the windows to get fresh air. They provided "to-go" breakfast that wasn't very impressive with 1 orange, 1 banana, 1 granola bar and a bottle of water + coffee in the lobby but still appreciate the effort during COVID times. Overall, nice location- next to the outlets, many places to eat or get food delivered. Definitely recommend this place! read more

We actually had a 5 star visit, except for one thing. I'm fanatical about a few small things at hotels. Shower: pressure, distributed flow (good shower head), and good temperature, check. They had really great soap, shampoo, conditioner in the shower. Paul Mitchell, I think? My wife got me the same Tea Tree shampoo this place has because I liked it at another hotel. Bed ... I was here with my family, and me and my son drew the short straw, and we had to sleep on the pull out sofa bed. My back suffers on crappy beds, but this one was lumpy and bulky and springy in all the right spots. Amazing! I slept better on this sofa bed than a lot of regular hotel beds, neat! There weren't enough pillows, but the front desk got us what we needed, cool. :-) Ok, the bad thing. There wasn't a "do not disturb" sign that we could put on the door, so we got woken up Sun morning, maybe in between 9 - 10 am or so. That sucked. Need to make sure all the rooms have Do Not Disturb signs in them. Anyway, good stay overall. read more

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Let's be clear, this is a hotel, not some fleabag motel, so expectations are slightly higher. - no one works here. You can never find anyone at the front desk - checked into our first room, and the door lock was broken and the air conditioner was broken... The hotel worker asked us if we wanted fans. No we don't want fans we want a room with a proper air conditioner. I asked if they could send someone to fix it and she said, "we don't have maintenance." What??? You don't have maintenance??? - The toilet does not flush properly... You have to hold the handle down for at least 20 seconds. - we got a second room with a partially functioning air conditioner and a partially functioning door lock - our room looks like a barroom brawl took place in it... I visited this hotel with family over the weekend. They had rented a double room sweet. We were there to hang out as it was one of the children's birthday. The women at the front desk was SO rude from the start. Asking how many people would be attending breakfast and that there were too many of us going up to the room. Accusing us of lying about how many people were staying. We explained that we were not all staying just visiting. Then the elevator was broken and we were on the 3rd floor. She never informed us of the elevator being out of order. The pool room was gross. All the paint was peeling off the walls and the chlorine was extreme. After the pool the kids (4) wanted to shower so we needed extra towel. she refused to give us towels. She stated we had enough for the people staying in room and couldn't have more. Never in my 40 years of life have I been told I cannot have towels for a room I'm staying in. She was rude to my kids and overall she made us feel unwelcome. On my 5th night of my stay and for the most part all was great. They have appetizers Monday through Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. which is pretty decent. Breakfast during the week is from 6 to 9 and on the weekends it starts at 7. Be there if you leave any money and the little table in the kitchen housekeeping looks at that as at it and they will take it and replace it with little candies. I wasn't aware of that but luckily I didn't have too much change laying there. It would have been nice to know that was the protocol. Vanessa at the front desk is awesome! They do provide shampoo conditioner and soap, I requested twice for conditioner replacement but it was never replaced. Overall all good. read more

This is THE WORST hotel I've ever stayed at. THE WORST!!! I travel frequently, and I cannot believe this condition of this place. I cannot believe my eyes when I see positive reviews of this place. First of all, it's a pretty beaten up building. I think they are doing renovations now which they desperately need. The rooms smelled terrible. I mean absolutely awful. We got two big suites as there were many of us. One of them smelled like a cat ran around from room to room peeing in every corner. They offered a maid come and spray deodorant in every room, but really it couldn't mask the horrific smell. The other suite smelled a little better than ours, but honestly I cannot believe that this passes for a hotel. I will never ever ever be staying here again. AWFUL. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. I called to book due to my husband being military. I booked two nights and wrote the amount due and the confirmation down. The second day I received a call at 2:00 pm telling me I need to get my things as we only booked one night. They did not accommodate us for this huge inconvenience. Literally put my family on the street leaving us to find something else last minute. They also wrote my email down wrong so I never received an email confirmation. Oh Residence Inn! I'm so sad to say that I was disappointed with my stay here. I usually stay at Marriotts so there were few and far between in Vacaville but I have yet to be disappointed by them. This is located in Vacaville right next to the Vacaville outlets (not intentional but definitely fate lol) and right across from Residence Inn is a Fairfield. There's a decent amount of parking but it might get a bit crowded at night. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately and the lady who helped me was super nice and informative. They were also having their free snack at this time (usu around 6-7:30) and it was chicken fajitas! Check-in was smooth although my keys didn't work the first time around. The room is fairly decent. However, it did smell a bit-not quite if it's the smell of an old hotel or even maybe past smoking even though it's supposed to be a non-smoking room. Plenty of space in the living area and a dining table and a kitchen with fridge, stove, and microwave. They also had pots and plates and cups you could use. The bedroom and bathroom were separated with a door from the living area and also had its own TV in the bedroom. All in all, pretty spacious but definitely needs some updating but at least everything worked. I was disappointed because 1) the room smelled and 2) one of the towels was dirty-like NOTICEABLY dirty. It just looked like they didn't clean it-maybe some old make up or something. Also, the sink was clogging. Not the end of the world but definitely makes me second guess their room service. Also, one of the dishes was dirty and in the cupboard and although I'm sure it was the renter's responsibility to clean it, the staff obviously doesn't check it so make sure to just wash everything before you use it. The hotel also comes with an indoor pool as well as a gym and free breakfast. I was also less than impressed with the breakfast but hey, it's included so can't really complain! Apparently this place is going to be renovated and it is in dire need of that. I would recommend waiting until they renovate to stay here. There was a group of 8 of us who stayed here recently, we got two of the 2-room suites and they were spacious but that's all I can say about the pros of this place. There was an odor that greeted us as we entered each room, and then the second day after housekeeping cleaned our room it smelt like dog pee on the carpet. This place has the makings of a really nice hotel (spectacular free breakfast, spacious suites, great staff) but it's just too worn out. The mattresses, furniture, bedding, carpets, building, etc. are old and outdated. The staff at this hotel were amazing! They always knew which room we were in and remembered things like how the tv's power cord was missing when we checked in (we were asked on 3 seperate occasions by different employees if it had been fixed and how it was working!) They were quick to offer help and insisted on bringing things to us instead of making us pick them up at the desk. They also would escort us to places we asked for help finding instead of pointing and telling us where it was. My family absolutely loved the breakfasts there. So many choices beside the standard cereal, eggs, pastries, and waffles. They had Greek yogurt, brie, coffee cake, chocolate croissants, a toppings bar (for waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, etc.), a fixings for breakfast burritos, and sliced, fresh melon. They even had Nutella packets! The rooms weren't too bad. Spacious with a full kitchen and decent tvs. But the beds were worn out. The showerhead was higher quality but needed cleaned (mildew). The tub was very shallow and the walls had years of hard water buildup, so they felt dirty. read more

They didn't clean anything not even an attempt had to go to the front desk every day for clean towels ... we just pushed the dirty ones into the hallway. I could go through the list that a "normal" daily once over happens at a hotel new soaps coffee make bed clean towels.... but NOTHING WAS DONE. We stayed here for three nights and four days. Our room was cleaned ONCE and that was because we requested it be cleaned. When they cleaned it they did not empty kitchen trash. The sofa bed was very thin you could feel the springs against your back (and my daughter only weighs 120lbs). There was a roach in the kitchen cupboards. We brought all this to attention of management and not compensated in any way. The only redeeming factor was the breakfast buffet was okay and hotel us pet friendly. Will not stay here by choice again. We had to because Soccer tournament gave us this hotel. A negative experience at this specific location for our hockey weekend. They over booked their rooms, wanted guests to volunteer to switch hotels. Worst part was they had used my name to tell one of five other guests that I had volunteered to move them to another hotel. I found this out tonight from an angry family on my son's hockey team, whom I thought were joking - not. The hotel staff were beyond tolerable with their "I don't care, and I don't want your business" to one of their preferred Marriott customer who had informed them that he was not happy with their service in my presence. The hotel staff including their assistant manager who had called the police to escort another Marriott guest off their premises were verbally admitting to how they don't want to lose their job if they have to call their sales rep (who had booked and confirmed all of our rooms) or their manager to accommodate these guests tonight. read more

We all know what to expect when staying at a Residence Inn... or do we? I am not a picky person, I've stayed at my shares of hostels, Holiday Inns, to Vegas hotels.. I've been there, done that. All I expect is a clean bed, clean room and helpful staff. Well.. 0.5 out of 3 ain't bad.. I guess. Location is off the freeway, next to lots of shopping opportunities. There was an occupied sofa bed, which was why we elected to cancel our reserved BNB to stay with family to share more quality time. The room was decent in size being a double suite with the shared space in the middle where the sofa bed lay. The sofa bed took some muscles to pull out entirely, then upon laying it down noticed an undeniable "brown" stain about a size of a hub cap and the frame wasn't completely straight. We phoned the front desk to see if there was reserved to swap it with and we were met with this answer: The hotel is completely full and we cannot "SWAP" with a different pull out mattress from a different room. Ok, well shouldn't they have some 'extras' for maintenance purpose? Well then we just asked for extra bedding and pillows to try and resolve our own problem, which they were happy to give us. When we asked again about the structure of the pull out, they agreed it was a safety issue and that they can get the maintenance (who is pretty good they say) to take a look the following night. We told them we would be out within a certain time frame only to come back to our room to find it unfixed. I'd rather spend an extra $50 a night NOT to deal with that again. Continental breakfast was continental, but was kept nice stocked as the HOCKEY boys came in (they were there for weekend as well). PS. They also bumped two other rooms that our aunt out of her paid priceline reservations due to guest "extending" their stay. Sounds like a personnel/operational issue. Don't spend your money here. They allow dogs to bark all morning and at night. You will not get any sleep here. I called front desk to complain and representative acted like she didn't care. She said they allowed dogs and she couldn't do anything about the barking dog. She offered to move us to another room but she never called us back with room information. Perfect location however, seriously lacking love when it comes to the condition of the Residence Inn. Not worth the price! Unfortunately we found: Stains on our blanket and broken glass in the cupboard. Couches are broken, flooring is peeling. Nothing was dusted in probably a few months. Washing dishes prior to use was my least favorite part. I believe lack of upgraded amenities and over all care of the facilities tells you that the staff could be forgotten about as well. So please tip when you receive great service. Our party of 10 booked 3 2-room suites here, total was around $40/person. The rooms are super spacious, each room had its own bathroom, shower, and queen sized bed. Shower was hot and had a strong stream. We just finished a 200mile relay over 30 hrs without sleep or shower, so this was a much welcomed stay. Best of all were the hot complimentary breakfast which includes: eggs, two different sausages, fried rice?, bagels, cheese (brie!), cereal, oatmeal etc. and good coffee (even ice coffee); and complimentary ice cream in the fridge! 4 1/2 stars - I was pleasantly surprised with our recent stay. We were in town to visit some friends and just wanted to have some wine, let the kids play in the pool and relax. The young man at the front counter was very courteous. He even cooked up some cheeseburgers that night for the guests and that was a nice touch. The room had everything we needed. The only reason I didn't go 5 stars is because of the bed. It wasn't as comfy as I would like. The room was clean, the hotel was quiet, and the doors didn't slam. Also, the maids weren't knocking on the door at 8am wanting to clean. I will stay here again. read more

My gf and i stayed here when we were on our way back from Lake Tahoe. We gambled all weekend long and ended up getting a great deal on Expedia. My girlfriend suggested we stay here, i didnt care since we were broke. haha The room was nice, even for just one night. They had free breakfast which was nice, biscuits and gravy too! They let us take food to our room which was really nice too. The receptionist was really nice and made us feel welcomed. We werent staying for very long, but she told us that we could bbq and shoot hoops. If we run through Vacaville again, we will forsure stay at this place read more

3 1/2 Stars. My wife and stayed her for her Reserve Weekend at Travis Air Force Base. The Residence Inn looked promising from the outside with a basketball and volleyball court in the front, but it was pretty disappointing inside. The service was mediocre compared to other Marriott properties and I did not feel welcomed at all. The room layout was actually nice. There's a full service kitchen and living room separated by a door that led to the bedroom and bathroom. Previous rooms I've stayed in at other Residence Inn properties were open and not separated by a wall. The room layout was nice, but it was not comfortable at all. The small bed was hard and not your typical Marriott bed. The AC unit was loud, which we needed on because Vacaville was in the high 100's that weekend. The blower in the bathroom was even louder. We noticed that was an unusual amount of loud noises during our stay there. The free hot breakfast in the morning is a nice touch, though it may get full and you're forced to bring the food to your room. If you are ever in the Fairfield / Vacaville area, I suggest staying at the Courtyard Nut Tree, another Marriott property. If it's not available, this place is not bad either. read more

Everything I except from a moderate priced 4 star accomodations hotel. Michaela at the front desk knew my name as soon as I walked in which was representative of the entire staff which is friendly and courteous. The rooms are large suites. The indoor pool spa was a welcome respite of busy days running around the sites. The hot breakfast and fireside sitting room were very pleasant. The grounds are well maintsined, clean, and fresh. Nearby shopping is plentiful and abundant. This hotel is conveniently located right near the I80 freeway. read more
