This is your standard 3/4 star Best Western motel experience. It's a no-frills affordable stay and won't gross you out. It's next to the highway, a grocery store, and multiple fast food joints. This is a great highway stop in between a long road trip. It's also a great affordable option for families visiting students at UC Davis. Need to kill some time? The outlets are down the highway for some fun shopping deals. The rooms are clean & up-to-date on interior furnishings. They have adequate/comfy beds, a microwave, fridge, and excellent HD/digital TV channels &options for a motel. I hear some of the rooms have a fireplace?!?! I chose the wrong room, but will make sure to specify the better one next time. The free "American/continental" breakfast does the trick. Gets you the quick morning calories and caffeine hit as-needed without totally grossing you out. I would offer one or two more stars if they had higher quality coffee and better soap/shampoo/lotion options in the bathroom. The towels are nice and soft though. We've been staying here every November for the past 5 or 6 years. We come up to this area for an early Thanksgiving with family. We've stayed at a few different hotels nearby, and this one is definitely our favorite! *STAFF/ LOBBY AREA* The staff has always been friendly, and the hotel is generally really clean. It is conveniently located right off the freeway, and super close to a Safeway. The lobby has a little corner store with some standard snacks, a coffee machine, a popcorn machine, and a computer for internet usage. *BREAKFAST* They have a continental breakfast every morning from 6am - 9am Mon-Fri, and 7am - 10am on Sat & Sun. The food is decent, but the options are plentiful! They have hot items such as make-your-own waffles and pancakes, oatmeal, and chafing dishes with things like eggs, potatoes and breakfast meats. They have classic items like cereal, bagels, hard-boiled eggs, and other pastries. There is also a coffee and juice machine with various options available! There is a little dining area in the back with a handful of high and low tables and a TV usually playing NEWS. *ROOMS* We've stayed in a few different rooms here, but for the most part we make a point to book the ones with both a fireplace and a spa tub! This is the "Balcony Suite King". We've stayed on both the first and second floor but generally prefer the second floor so people aren't walking or making noise above us. Of the upstairs rooms, not all of them have balconies. The rooms are pretty spacious with a living room area and a bedroom. Each room has its own TV, though the one in the living room is attached to the wall so tight that there's no room to connect a Fire Stick or anything to the USB ports. The fireplace sets a wonderful mood and gives off a lot of heat. The spa tub has jets and is an amazing way to relax while away from home! *OVERALL* I would recommend staying here if you are in the area or passing through. The staff is friendly and you can get rooms with great features for a solid price. The continental breakfast is a great bonus, and a nice option to have. I have been an Airbnb/VRBO host for over 6 years. I have hosted over 2200 guests in those 6 years. I have earned SUPER HOST recognition every quarter of the past 6 years. I have to say this is one of the worst Best Western hotels I have stayed in. The staff was rude, the bathroom was dirty. It has really gone down hill in the last few years. Maybe it is new owners. We just stayed for one night for my daughters soccer game in Davis. Room was very clean, bathroom as well. Beds were comfortable, Breakfast in the morning was great, lots to choose from. Make your own waffles/pancakes, country potatoes, mini omelet, sausage, bagels, muffins. Front desk staff were so welcoming, Annabelle was very nice. Called front desk to let them know we were out of shampoo, she was very nice and walked over to bring me a new one. Check out was fast and easy with Jared. This hotel was perfect for a weekend getaway. It's close enough to visit UC Davis and yet far enough away from the crowds, traffic and overpriced hotels if you're attending a big campus or other Davis event. We stayed here on the weekend of the UC Davis annual picnic in April. We always appreciate having comfortable beds and a quiet hotel. The amenities were nice too. Just a quick note. I woke up to find out that the coffee maker in my room was not functioning properly. I made contact with front desk personnel, and made contact with Roberto. He patiently and professionally walked me through the process over the phone. It only confirmed the coffee maker was in fact not functioning. Without hesitation Roberto offered to bring me a fresh cup of coffee to my room! He even asked if I needed cream and sugar! A few minutes later Roberto showed up to my room with TWO cups of hot fresh coffee! I was impressed and very grateful! My man Roberto saved the day! We had to stay at this hotel during a move. What a oasis amongst chaos! I call it the jasmine hotel because it's growing all around the grounds and smells so great. The rooms are quite large, extremely clean and comfortable. Our room overlooked the pool which is quite pretty. The staff were professional and nice and there's a breakfast in the morning, some of which is hot. They take pets, which is fantastic, however each pet, (two pet maximum) is $35/night each. This is an excessive charge, but that's my only complaint. It does have a nice green area for dogs. Stayed here for 3 nights with 2 rooms for 5 persons. When we got there we didn't realize that the rooms were prebooked upstairs. The hotel desk clerk was very accommodating, and gave us a downstairs room for our ADA person. Breakfast was available in the dining room every morning. Muffins, bagels, eggs, sausages one day, bacon the next day, cereal, coffee etc. The staff was very very friendly, and always available. I did have a mild problem with the billing, which was just a misunderstanding, and it was promptly, and professionally resolved by the hotel desk clerk, and the manager. I believe the hotel still follows Covid rules, because the rooms were never cleaned during my stay; however, fresh towels were always available when needed. The location is perfect for my needs. Since I now know what to expect, I will be going back to stay again. read more

Great example of "you get what you pay for". Booking on line and having Susana at the front desk with her wonderful helpful outgoing personality was a perfect start. We were staying for a couple of days and asked for a quiet room not facing the freeway. First room was ground floor facing the freeway. Got moved upstairs away from freeway and was pleased with a clean and neat room with no frills. At this point, about what was expected. In room refer held all our snacks and lunches for our stay. Turned on the TV and the remote said batteries dead. Down to desk, got a pair of batteries out of a box of about 50 loose batteries. Nope, didnt work. Back to the desk and this time got two remotes - one did work. Super basic cable with 57 shopping channels and 4 network stations. Unheated pool is a no go, the spa was green with algea so no thanks. Breakfast was plentiful but not super diet friendly as all was mostly carbs. Great location and low price and felt like got what I paid for - a clean safe place to sleep and shower. read more

The place is wonderful , very nice and clean but I gave it a 3 stars because the front desk person Mayra that I had to deal with this morning was basically calling me a liar . I had extended my stay one more night through booking.com. The app updated to where now they prepay before your stay . I go to sign the paper and she was basically questioning me about my payment, I had to show her my confirmation and payment to prove that I was not lying then to proceed to look up at it again and seen I was not lying and the rest of time I was there she gave me attitude. I work customer service , but if you are miserable don't work in this industry . Alex who is AHHHHMAZING AHHMAZING , made sure the rest of my stay was more comfortable . Will not stay here again. I stayed here last year and it was okay. Not bad. Pretty much what one would expect. I recently needed to be in the area again, so I decided to revisit. That was a mistake on my part. The only packet of coffee with caffeine in my room was the used one still in the coffee maker. I have had to have my room keys reset every afternoon because they quit working. I got one cup wrapped in plastic. One cup. The couch looks like it may have seen a few parties and so far, I have caught three fleas and thrown them in the toilet. From the outside, everything looks okay. Beware. Checking out tomorrow. Do not not stay here! Arrived today at 4PM, checked in, the maid's cart was blocking access to the stairs, went into my room and it was occupied by someone else. Returned to the front desk got a 2nd room, went to the room and it was also occupied by someone else, went back to the front desk and the girl tried to argue with me until she realized she was wrong. Got a key for a 3rd room but was told it would take 15 minutes for the maid to clean it. Past 4:30 PM and I am still standing outside waiting for my room. Roughly speaking there are several categories of hotel: business, resort, traveler. This particular hotel, by virtue of being directly adjacent to both I-80 and the freeway on ramp, is clearly a traveler's hotel. We stayed here for three nights for our daughter's UC Davis graduation. Much more affordable than the Davis hotels. Very new, very clean and functional. Bring ear plugs, however, as it is quite noisy all the time here, even the AC fan is very noisy. Bed was quite soft but not uncomfortably so. There is a 24 hour Denny's a short walk from the hotel, and it's a very good Denny's. Safeway in a shopping center across the road. Only niggle: we usually stay in Best Westerns and always have problems with the WiFi. I was hopeful when I saw that BW has changed internet providers, but alas, the WiFi service was appalling and we gave up on it after wasting a great deal of time with it. Next trip I'm packing a router/WAP and will hope for wired internet service. read more

Yelp wants us to take COVID into consideration while posting reviews for businesses--however this isn't a small mom and pop business. Got evacuated during Vaca fires so we stayed here. This place is DIRTY! Our sheets had stains ranging from yellow to black, carpets are NOT cleaned NOT EVEN VACUUMED IT SEEMS. Feet were black, but we were met with a not-so-pleasant surprise by a previous cat and their owner. Do take COVID into consideration when writing reviews because this place can't be bothered to clean in such a basic way, I don't doubt they lack sanitation levels to protect you in any way against covid. Travelers beware: The Best Western Plus on Commercial Way in Dixon, CA checked me into an unsanitary room. At first, I thought it was just a stained carpet. It was late and all I wanted to do was sleep for the night. In the morning, more issues came to light. I have posted pictures for everyone to see and judge for themselves. I asked the front desk to have a manager contact me, but no one responded. Hopefully, we were not exposed to anything hazardous to our health. But they gave us a jet tub that was barely big enough for one...when we bought to their attention...they apologized for the inconvenience but still charged for the spa room and didn't even have any spa rooms! Me and my husband stay here every year. I come to Winters for business and sometimes a second trip for other things but we have always stayed here for 5 years now. Love the hotel love the area. Parking is sometimes a nightmare because of all the truckers and construction workers but we always find a space. We checked in late last night as usual. Around 2am usually we get a late check out but decided to just leave at check out. 10:05 housekeeping gives two taps on the door with her card and then tries to walk in! Luckily I had the chain on. I yell we are still here so she leaves. Then at 10:45 knocks again and I said we are still in here and she yells when are you leaving?? I said I thought check out was 11:00 no response. I found that so rude! I mean twice in a hour. If check out is 11 you shouldn't even knock on doors till then! As I'm leaving I swing into the office to tell them what happened and the girl behind the counter looks less than surprised almost a look of again! Tells me she's the manager and will report it to whoever...... it's so sad customer service is such a thing of the past! I really miss it. read more

At the last minute, our club had to move hotels for 9 guests coming from out of town for an event at the fairgrounds. I worked with Mayra who was simply amazing!!! Not only was she accommodating, but she worked to ensure our guests were away from competitors in other parts of the hotel. They provided Welcome Gifts we dropped off to be distributed, and made some last minute reservation changes without hesitation or issue. I honestly don't know what we would have done without their willingness to help!!! I also received excellent feedback from my guests - from the rooms, the breakfast, and the staff. Appalling!! Let's start with the attitudes from the front desk girls Mary and the other blonde gal, Rude!!! We arrived at 3pm for our room we requested to be on second floor nonsmoking . Room wasn't ready until 4pm we sat around after a 12 hour drive. Mary and her partner behind the desk rude condescending UNPROFESSIONAL. I am a teacher and man or man they get a F for customer service. BUGS BUGS BUGS!! 100's! Green winged flying / crawling creatures, spiders and others. We spent until 12:30 am killing them it was un inhabitable! Front desk guy couldn't " do anything" because he was new? The next morning we asked for a comped room and they only gave us 15.00 off!! We are basically forced to stay here as it's very hard to get a reasonable rate in davis or any surrounding cities last minute. There are BETTER places keep looking. read more

We live in Santa Rosa,Ca and we got evacuated at 4:30 amand last Sunday morning due to the Kincaid fire . Well every hotel was booked from here to Fairfield. Stressed out and beyond exhausted we were at our breaking point sitting in a empty parking lot with my family and our two dogs . Out of luck I made a online reservation and we drove down to the beat western plus in Dixon. Upon arriving there were multiple families around 1:30 pm. People were pouring in. Talking to them they also were evacuated from their homes in Sonoma county exhausted and full of emotion as well. The front desk staff were so kind and trying to accommodate everyone as quick as possible. You could tell they were a bit overwhelmed but they handled it amazingly . Check in wasn't until 4 pm and they only had 4 house keepers you can imagine how every one felt having to wait 3 hrs after being up since early morning hours fleeing a wild fire. They opened up the. Conference room has people hang out by the pool offered coffee and cookies in the mean time. 30 mins later they called us and advised they had our room ready . The amazing house keepers hustled and I mean hustled to get those rooms cleaned for people and their families . They handled a unforeseen situation like I have never seen before ! THANK YOU to all the staff you guys were nothing less then amazing and we all appreciated everything you did to accommodate us from Sonoma County . Oh and the rooms were spotless ;) read more

Hotel by itself was just fine. But the attitude of front desk management is horrible and not comer friendly. I booked and intended to stay on a thursday but as I wasn't feeling well I was forced to extend by another day. I called in to tell the front desk that. Next day as I check out I was charged more than 1.6 times for the extension ($165). On checking I saw the web price was $143 & asked for that, but was refused. I was told to talk to the manager & inspire of leaving messages few times, there was no call back. Finally I called back, to be simply rudely told that it was my responsibility to check price and not theirs & nothing can be done. But there is no customer friendliness to this place - Seems to be focused on maximizing their revenues. read more

We stayed at this hotel for the Sacramento Valley Dog Fanciers Dog Show. The location was only a five minute drive away from the Fairgrounds where the event was held. The hotel is also conveniently located right off I-80 near a Safeway and various fast food restaurants. We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly! We travel a lot for our shows and we also have a Best Western Rewards card. We stayed in room 316 which is a non-smoking king size room with a full size couch, fridge, microwave, TV and a coffee maker. The freezer did not quite keep our icecream frozen but it was decently cold. Our room was clean and was actually thoroughly cleaned each day. Breakfast was complimentary and featured a small assorted selection of teas, apple and orange juice and various pastries. There was also a waffle maker, boiled eggs and fresh whole fruit. Check in was after 2pm and check out was from 11-noon. Front desk service was friendly and professional but nothing over accommodating. We averaged about $100 a night plus a $15 per night pet fee. Overall we were satisfied with our stay. We noted there were plenty of fellow dog fanciers and exhibitors staying as well. We would come back again for any show in Dixon. read more

Recently my wife and I had the unfortunate stay at the Best Western Suites in Dixon, California. We arrived in the area around MIDNIGHT, and a person named Megan was behind the desk. She is one of the most unprofessional person I have ever meet; she never once got up from her chair, she said SHE COULD NOT FIND OUR RESERVATION. The same reservation my wife had confirmed through Booking.com and the hotel the day before. At one point she said we would have to talk with the manager in the morning, making us feel like we would have to sleep in the car. After being in the lobby for almost an hour, she placed us in a queen room not a king bed that had been reserved. We were barely able to get any sleep! The next morning we spoke with the manager, Roberto Mendieta, who placed us in a room with a king size, a room that had a small shower and I noticed had a whole in the wall near the refrigerator. When we went to checkout at the end of our stay we went to speak with the manager and say how unhappy we were he blamed booking.com and couldn't help us and we would need to talk with the corporate office. I have never stay at a hotel that had staff that was so unprofessional and uncaring!! We canceled our second reservation with them found near by hotel was very happy. I'm a FAN. This place was awesome. I had a bottom room (102) next to the HWY 80 but I didn't hear any traffic. The bed was nice and firm like I like them. My room was very clean and the AC (which is a must in the SAC area) ROCKS. I had to even turn it down to very low. The staff was helpful and nice. The lobby had cucumber water to drink that was refreshing. I didn't have time to swim, and I left way to early in the morning for the breakfast. But, if you are handicapped or have anybody in your family with difficulty with stairs, don't stay here. There are no elevators to the second floor. I cannot believe that any building in 2019 wouldn't have an elevator to a second story without giving notice to all patrons. My daughter with cerebral palsy had to walk a flight of stairs. one of the wonderful staff carried her down the stairs when he saw us trying to get her down. There are only five handicap spots for the entire hotel. Hundreds and hundreds of regulator spots but only five were handicapped and none were by our building. read more
