One of the worst stays I've had in any hotel. Bed smelled of urine, spoke to the desk clerk and they neither apologized nor offered any concern regarding it. This hotel is a hidden gem we stumbled upon outside Cincinnati, OH; we received a complimentary upgrade to a jacuzzi suite as a perk for being a loyalty club member, making it a fantastic find at a promotional rate! The asst manager Kary was particularly nice to accommodate our special needs. The room is clean and comfortable. Easy check in. We were given a room that had plastic outside the window for construction. Why? There were plenty of other rooms available. Room did smell a little musty but we got used to it, Beds were comfortable. Carbon Monoxide detector was plugged in where a lamp was supposed to be plugged in. Could have used more light. Fan in bathroom vibrated; pretty annoying. The room was quiet, which was nice. Overall I guess you get what you pay for. read more

We gave the property 9 months to respond to this and there has not been a proper response to the issue we encountered, so posting this experience to help other avoid a similar fate. We checked in for a one night stay prior to an early flight on August 7, 2022. We were assigned room 214. Upon seeing the room, we noticed bugs, hair, and stains on the sheets indicating the room was not properly cleaned. In such a dirty room that was causing an allergic skin reaction, we could not stay in that room and informed front desk. They said there were no other rooms available. After some back and forth, we left within 2 hours of checking in to stay in a different hotel. The front desk was left unattended and when we asked to speak with a supervisor, we were told there were no supervisors on the premises. 9 months later dealing with Best Western corporate and requesting a refund, we still have not received a refund or any form of compensation for this. I give this particular BW a D. This is where you stay when you have no other option. It probably won't kill you, but it's not a pleasant place to stay. I would NOT go back there. There is an overpowering smell when you walk in to the building. It's not a "clean" scent, but an overwhelming bad fumes/chemical kind of smell. I have nephews with asthma, & they would not have been able to stay here, the smell was SO chemically strong. Unfortunately, the rooms were worse. We had two rooms, not next to each other, and each one was the same with regards to the bad smell. We asked other guests about their rooms having a foul odor, & they confirmed the bad smell in their rooms, as well. One woman changed rooms because of the odor, but the new room was the same. It smelled bad. Breakfast area is not kept clean. Once the food is brought out the first time, that's it, as far as staff for the breakfast area. Tables are not wiped down throughout the morning as people come & go & neither are the food areas. Once the first go round of hot food runs out, that's it for the day, regardless of time, as far as we could tell. Our rooms needed a DEEP clean, not just a between guest surface cleaning. There was hair in the corners. Mold in the shower. Crap behind the toilet. The bed dust cover was dirty & stained (ick!). I dropped my phone & when I went to pick it up, the yuck of stuff I saw behind the bed was disgusting. We had to change the toilet paper roll once, & there was stuff & a bug in the TP cubby. The mattresses were not new, but not overly soft. The water pressure was okay/medium. Staff at the front desk was non-existent. They were outside smoking every time but one, when we were going to & from our car for four days. We would have to walk through a wall of smoke to get in or out of the building by the front entrance. Our first problem was a reservation problem. The front desk employee, "Tammy", said we did not have a confirmed reservation. I asked her if she wanted my confirmation number or my Best Western rewards number, & she said no, she didn't need it. I called the 1-800 number & the person I talked to, "Devin", said we did, indeed, have a confirmed reservation; the customer relations staff member at their 1-800 number, "Paige", also verified we had a confirmed reservation & she called the hotel directly for us. We were relieved to end our stay there. read more

There was a pile of hair in the shower and some kind of moisture issue. Room smelt musty and sheets, all bedding was damp. I complained to front desk and they offered another room that was exactly the same. It was too late to go to another hotel so we sucked it up and checked out in am. read more

Rundown, semi clean. Continental Breakfast advertised, posted sign states you must take the food and tray back to your room. Decent water pressure, close to the expressway. That in itself is the best part of the stay. Close to restaurants also. In shock that there's a fee for checking in early. Checked in 2 hours before "check-in" was charged $40. Checked out at 1am, "check-out" is 11am. Didn't receive a refund for early check out. First and last stay at a Best Western. Not impressed. read more

Arrived late and checked in. Went to our room on the 3rd floor and the keys didn't work. My husband went back down and came back upstairs only to walk in to a room with the TV on and PEOPLE SLEEPING in the bed!!! Went back downstairs and "whoops" was the response. Got our new room on the 1st floor to go in to take a shower and you had to manually lift the drain to drain the tub. Would not stay up. Walk plate missing on an electrical outlet. I left my room to go get breakfast, trying to hurry I left my hotel key inside the room. As I go up to the desk I waited about 5 mins for someone to help me. The lady, her name is Tammy already had a very mean attitude. I kindly told her I left my key inside the room and asked what I needed to do. She rudely asked me for my ID, as I had to remind her I just left the room for breakfast all of my belongings are inside of the room. She got very upset with me and started getting aggressive telling me that there's nothing she could do for me with no ID. After I had to beg Tammy to help me out in this situation, she annoyedly asked me my name and room number. I proceeded to tell Tammy the information, since Tammy was already in a shitty mood she "misheard" me say another room number. After she thought I was "lying" bc she made a mistake I showed her my reservation for the hotel, trying to explain to her that I have a room. Tammy continues to get aggressive with me telling me that I am a "liar" and I need to leave. She then proceeded to say "there is no room with that name on the second floor". Mind you I never said I was on the second floor I was on the first! After I told her that she made a mistake she got even more upset with me and told me that "I" could not speak to her like that. Mind you I am an African American. After the amount of disrespect and ignorance I have received from Tammy I got rude back with her. She admittedly told me she was calling the cops on me and was going to have my things thrown out of the hotel. After this heartbreaking and unfair behavior i walked back to my room waiting for the cops to show up. After 10 mins of waiting for the police they came up to me and asked me what happened. As I explained the situation they did not have nothing to say. They admittedly told me I was banned and I could not come back to the hotel. After everything Tammy had put me through I just said ok. I didn't want to come back after how I've been treated from Tammy. The police let me into my room and told me I needed to pack and leave also asking for my ID. As I was packing 6-8 police officers was standing in my room WATCHING me pack my things. Like I was some kind of threat. The amount of discrimination, racism and trauma Tammy had caused me will always sit with me. I got treated unfairly with an amount of disrespect all because of the color of my skin. After I paid my hard earned money for this stay, trying to relax and enjoy myself. Tammy wanted to pick on the brown kid. read more

We were scheduled to stay here two days but only stayed one because her experience was so bad the first night. I was supposed to have two double beds and instead were given one queen. Then I room was located behind the elevator and we could hear everything. Then the heat didn't work in the room. There were no other rooms in the hotel, so we just left. read more

Good Value for the price. I have stayed here a few times. Clean and comfortable, a good value. It is not the Hilton, but it isn't priced that way either. I haven't had any issues here. They were doing remodeling on some rooms, but I think they are all done with that now. It didn't bother me, they didn't work at night. read more

Update: Was contacted by HQ at Best Western and they stated they were crediting back the rooms. Very nice of them and something they didn't need to do, and obviously they thought that too because I never received credit. We are from Cincinnati, but often get a hotel room just for a night to get away. This Best Western was very accommodating. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. We both forgot our toothbrushes/toothpaste and the staff brought them to our room. No charge. The rooms were nice and clean. And the pool was clean and refreshing. read more

This hotel location was listed as being close to the CreatIon Museum. So, we booked a room. It wasn't the best hotel I've ever stayed I but the people that work there sure we nt out of their way to make us fee, welcome and comfortable. Especially in housekeeping Tina was friendly when we stayed Monday night d when we came back to stay Wed night she made sure my portable charger was returned to me. The women at night were warm and friendly as were the women in the morning that made certain breakfast was well supplied but checked us out. This hotel is located close to everything and the beds are comfortable. I'll stay here next time I visit Kentucky. read more

If this is a 3-diamond hotel, as rated by Triple A, I would hate to see what the two diamond places look like. I did a lot of research on hotels in the area before deciding on this one: the rates were competitive and it consistently got good reviews for its cleanliness and location. And it was adequate although, as I say, if it's one of the best in its price range in the greater Cincinnati area, I'd be afraid to see other places. The location was good, about a 20-minute drive to downtown Cincinnati, a few minutes from dining and shopping in Florence, right off the major highway and easy to get to. Our room was clean and for the most part quiet, but although we had a non-smoking room, the entire second floor hallway reeked of cigarette smoke and we could smell smoke coming in to our room from the vents in the bathroom. That was pretty disgusting but I expect it's a problem that will continue as long as the hotel allows smoking inside the building. I used the fitness center every morning and it was perfectly serviceable, with a treadmill, couple of bikes, and an elliptical, although the room was boiling hot. There was also popcorn spilled on the floor that remained there for at least the three days I was there. My friend and I opted to skip the free breakfast, as the hot dishes looked a bit suspect, but there was cereal and beverages that looked safe. The staff was very friendly: Victoria checked us in and out and answered our questions, and the housekeeping staff greeted us pleasantly in the halls when we saw them. No problems there. I would recommend this Best Western as it seems better than other options in the area, and it was not an unpleasant stay. If you're bothered by cigarette smoke, maybe request a room on the first floor--it didn't smell too badly down there. I think you could do a lot worse in the Cincinnati area. read more

Watch ur statements. They charge for looking into ur garbage and assuming. Was charged for smoking! Even though we chatted with the staff every time i went to the smoking area in the front of the bldg. Because i threw my pack n butts in the garbage in our room. The 2 nights we stayed it was pouring outside n i didnt want to get wet putting my butt into the can outside the shelter so i took it to the room in my empty pack. I guess i should have thrown it on the ground like the staff did. They even included pics of my garbage in my room Which included diapers food n oh yea my empty pack! Smh NEVER AGAIN! The hilton was much nicer and Cheaper! Indoor pool n wonderful staff. read more

Standard room was pretty standard. Clean enough. Though it smells of smoke. Not just our room we were offered another that smelled worse. On the up side they are pet friendly which is a nice bonus. The hotel has seen better days but isn't terrible (not particularly nice either though). read more

Upon check in (around 7 pm) the clerk had an infant (about 4 months old with her) and was trying to divide her attention between a crying baby and a customer. I had to tell her my card info out loud because there wasn't a machine to swipe. The next day we left our room around 7 am and returned 2 p.m. The room had not been cleaned although there was a housekeeper in the room next to ours. I waited to see if she was just making her rounds. Around 7 p.m I called the front desk to inform that our room had not been cleaned and that we needed fresh towels and our trash emptied. The clerk sounded as if I was bothering her and stated "You can come down to get some towels and garbage bags. Leave the trash outside of the room". There was also a couple in the room next to us arguing all afternoon and night. read more

Spent one night on our way to TN, the hotel location was perfect off the highway. The room was clean and included everything you need. Breakfast was included, which is always nice so you don't have to look for a restaurant in the morning. Food choice was basic but satisfactory, with eggs, sausage patties, pancake machine, yogurt, pastries, etc... Only "complain" would be the size of the breakfast area. There were quite a few people when we had breakfast and the flow around the breakfast bar is very awkward. Other than that, we'd definitely stay there again! read more

We stayed here one night during a road trip. We loved all of the staff at this hotel! The rooms are very clean and you can tell that the employees take pride in setting up each room. Great hotel! Pet friendly! Good breakfast, lots of choices. Room decor is nice. Fridge and microwave in room. Just one little complaint. The shower curtain is on one of those curved rods but they hung it so far into the tub it actually gives you less room than a normal one and the shower curtain kept sticking to me. read more

The room was nice and clean and the prices were very competitive. The king size bed was awesome! Very comfortable!! The room overall was very attractive. Modern and comfortable. Great sized bathroom, not a closet like low budget motels I've seen. Plenty of room and lots of towels with amenities to spare! I would DEFINITELY stay here again if I come through this area again. Here's a solid hotel that gets the fundamentals right. It's near the highway, restaurants, shopping, and the tourist attractions of Cincinnati and northern Kentucky. The property is well-kept, up-to-date, and attractive. The complimentary breakfast was one of the better ones I've seen. Now granted, you know that, at this level, the breakfast products are ones you'd buy at Costco or from food service companies like Sysco. And you know that these breakfasts all have toasters and waffle makers. The distinguishing thing here is that they offered ham, eggs (albeit pre-cooked scrambled egg patties), etc. that took this breakfast a little beyond the standard cereal and plastic-wrapped pastries. Decent coffee was always available in the lobby. The staff is very friendly. In the course of my stay, I interacted with 4-5 of them, and every one of them was pleasant and helpful. I suspect management is treating them right. I'll give this property a solid four Yelp stars (keeping in mind that Yelp stars are different from the stars of other hotel rating systems like Michelin). You'll be fine here. read more

Nice clean hotel, comfortable bed, very helpful staff and small but comfortable breakfast area. Pulled in late in the day after a long day of driving and was greeted by very nice desk staff who got us registered, dealing with our partial gift card/partial credit card situation, membership points, and CAA discount in a very knowledgeable, efficient and polite way. We got up early in the morning, had our breakfast and checked out with no waiting as the final bill was slipped under our door overnight.. Would stay there again. read more

Our Stay there was enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We found the cleanliness to be fine and the breakfast was at least adequate. The location was pretty good for us since it was onlt about a one-half hour drive to the show that we came to see. Getting there and to our show's location (Harrison, OH) was easy with both locations being near the interstate. There were plenty of quality restaurants only minutes away, making dining an easy experience. All in all, we would stay there again if the occasion arises. read more

We made our reservations using a flash deal on priceline and I feel like we got a great deal. The hotel is recently remodeled and our room was nice. Room included a fridge and microwave. Breakfast in the morning has a variety of choices, there is spa water and fruit always available when you walk in, and they also had popcorn in the lobby in the evenings. Front desk was always friendly. The only issue we had during our stay from Friday-Monday is that housekeeping never completely cleaned the room. On Saturday our used towels were taken, but no new ones were left (we went to front desk and were given new). We also had 2 small trashcans in the room that were overflowing and not emptied. We left them by the room door on Sunday morning and they were finally changed. Room was never vacuumed and beds were never made. The only thing that really bothered me was the trash not being emptied. Housekeeping just needs to make sure they are at least doing the basics. read more
