We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. After reading some reviews, I was very nervous. We walked into the lobby and saw the elevators. There's a sign that instructs you to go to the lobby. There were no luggage carts available when we got there, but we did see them at check out. We checked in and went to our room. It had a pull-out couch and two beds. It also had a fridge and microwave in it. Everything was clean and lovely. We had plenty of pillows and had a comfortable stay. The shower was normal and had the refillable bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in there. The next morning, we had breakfast in the lobby. There were hard boiled eggs, cereal, toast, bagels, western omelettes, scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, with juices and coffee. We had plenty to eat. We checked out and explored Cincinnati. Overall it was a great stay, we look forward to coming back! read more

We stayed here for one night while visiting Cincinnati for a Reds game. I chose this hotel over several other reasonably priced options because it had recently been renovated, and I'm glad we did. The biggest downside was the elevator situation. The same elevators serve the lobby and guest rooms, so there was often a wait, especially since they're fairly small. It took a couple of rounds before we could get on one with enough space. If you don't mind a short walk, there's a staircase in the back that can be a convenient alternative. The lobby is located on the second floor, and the staff was friendly and efficient. We were welcomed with complimentary bottled water and checked in quickly. Our room was lovely, modern, and impeccably clean. The only minor issue was that the room door was very tight and took quite a bit of effort to open, but it wasn't a major inconvenience. One experience that stood out was housekeeping knocking on our door around 10:50 a.m., even though checkout wasn't until 11:00 am. The housekeeper wasn't rude, but she did ask what time we were leaving, and we simply replied that we'd be checking out at 11:00 am, since that was the posted checkout time. It wasn't a huge issue, but it's not something I've experienced at other hotels, so it caught me a little off guard. Overall, we had a great stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-priced, and I'd definitely stay here again on a future trip to Cincinnati. read more

Pretty good location if you want to be downtown and want to walk to Great American Ballpark. Stayed in a suite that was very comfortable. Showers had decent water pressure and the room was pretty comfortable. Television offered plenty of things to watch including some movie channels. Forgot to lock my door and one night at around 3am, somebody entered our room!!! First time in my life I didn't lock my hotel room. Person who entered politely apologized for the mishap but it was unnerving. Remember: always double lock your hotel rooms. Breakfast buffet is typical Hampton Inn and does the job but isn't memorable. Although it looks worn out, bones of the building are good and rooms comfy. Would stay here again. read more

No no !! Great location- we have stayed there for work for 3 weeks and than another 4 weeks on two other occasions a few years back!! We love Cincinnati!! So we had work come up again this year! This time it would be a two week stay !! There have been some changes since we last were there !! Rooms are great !! The service at the front deck is the worst !!! I'm not picky !! They were rude mean and so unprofessional- help !! I don't think the word help is in their vocabulary!! So if you stay here be prepared to be on your own!!! Terrible customer service all around. Guests beware! This is the absolute worst hotel in the Hilton portfolio I have ever stayed at. The air conditioner in our room was not working. The maintenance person came after a while to "fix" it and said it would be fine after briefly examining it. The unit was never fixed and the hotel would not provide us an alternate room with a functional A/C, so we were forced to sleep miserably at 80 degrees. The inexcusable part is that the room came with a broken, dirty floor fan, which suggests that management already knew something was wrong with the A/C unit and allowed the room to be booked anyway. I have seen other reviews here and on Google reporting issues with air conditioning, which is alarming. These rooms also don't have refrigerators or microwaves, which is unheard of in 2023 and for how much this place charges. read more

I went to a event at the Birdcage so this was very convenient since the venue is about 7 minutes away. You have to take the elevator to the 2nd floor to check in. Valet is on the first floor if you need it. When you check in there is this hotel on the right and another one on the left. Complimentary coffee and tea is available and I was given a bag with waters which was so kind. At check in which was so good I was informed that breakfast would be served in the lobby area and that I could go to both to eat. I had to rush to get to my flight but I'd planned ahead I know that I would have been very happy. The room was nice. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and shower was nice. There was a chair and desk. Nothing fancy. Food options nearby like a chipotle that I ordered online and got pickup. I think there is a code in the elevator to get delivery with no fee? read more

This is the worst motel ever I stayed in . Do not stay here we were in a wedding party 12 rooms reserved . The mother of the bride with medical issues was reserved 2 bed , accessible for two females given a non accessible king, on 14 th floor at the total end of 2 hallways the elder uncle a vet was supposed to have a suite not a small king. Tried to get all straight the rude Heather at desk said I can't do anything we are booked Nothing done . We had 2 night stay. The elevators get locked when u use have to try to press floor hold key card to hotel scanner. NOT Well she n I got stuck in elevator twice had get help, the uncle got locked in called help she said it will take 40 minutes to get him out , the fire department had to come with their equipment to pry door open. There is no instructions given at desk checking in of any kind not told there was a bar inside, no restaurant inside. Closest one is about 2-3 blocks away. HAVE TO WALK Handicap can't walk that far. The so call breakfast bar is horrible cold potatoes, eggs , ridiculous. This hotel is so old when I entered it like going into a morgue, or Transylvania. To be fair, it's a decent, comfortable hotel with killer air conditioning and pretty well maintained but you're going to pay 280 bucks a night, not including valet. The valet wait time for an attendant is about 15 minutes. When our car was returned, it had not been broken into, but there were valuables missing including a purse, a portable car charger and some money. We got the usual hum drum from the valet. News flash to hotel: we won't be staying here again. The area leading up to the hotel is rather seedy with the aroma of mary jane smoke abounding. When you walk in, you actually have to take the elevator to the second floor. Nobody tells you that because it's not posted. There is no microwave, no refrigerator, no bellman, and no luggage cart. You're on your own there. The TV is rather small. The breakfast is terrible. The concierege is terrible. Location is in the heart of downtown, so that's fair enough, and there are many restaurants nearby. You can get to the riverfront by foot in 10 minutes or take the connector nearby, which will take you into OvTR. There are six elevators, and they are puny but they come quickly. The lobby could be stunning with its brass finishes. Sadly, much of those are elevator doors that have been painted dark gray. Yes, they painted the carved elevator doors. I'm sorry but I've stayed in really nice hotels for that price and the service was so much better. The front desk people are on their phones, texting while you struggle to get through the door with your luggage. No bellhop, no assistance, crappy Continental breakfast, dogs barking and keeping people awake. Sorry, Hilton Honors rewards people. Garbage! Do better. read more

Overall very cool set up inside an older repurposed building right on the cusp of a rougher part of town and the part that is being renovated. There were several food places nearby like skyline chili which I never got to, and shops as well as the business type district and the ball park. Do NOT valet or park in the garage next to the hotel. We stayed 1 night and woke up to our truck window bashed in. The police said there was nothing they could do and that the garage was a common target because there is no security or cameras. At that time, there were several dozen cards that were hit, and the police weren't done canvasing. Why the valet company continues to park cars there knowing that the garage is hit on a regular basis is ridiculous. They should at least warn guests of the potential concern. Room & location were great. Aside from having to drive home in sub-zero temps with a missing window, and no one trying to help or apologize for the situation, my only other complaint would be the elevators. It's great that they require you to use your room key to access the guest floors, but the key card we were given did not work. We also attempted to use our digital key, and that never worked, either. Lots of standing in a tiny elevator trying to get to our room. We had a wonderful visit overall, but that was dampened by the way our trip ended. read more

I've stayed here twice on business trips. Once was through the Hampton and once through Homewood Suites - they share the building. The Homewood Suites room was much larger and offered an oven, stove, standard size fridge, sitting area. The Hampton room was fine, but much smaller and I was surprised they didn't have a mini-fridge, even. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the showers was stellar. I haven't cared for the complimentary breakfast buffet, but I'm a bit picky with that. It was your typical budget type buffet. I thought the hotel was nice enough that I came back. I also found that while the front desk staff was covering both hotel check ins, so they were stretched thin, the employees were all very friendly and helpful. Deducted a star due to the lack of mini-fridge, cracked sink in the bathroom (still plenty usable), and the gnarly dust bunny/cobweb I found on the wall. read more

Convenient location next to fountain square and in a historic hotel. Room was newly remodeled, clean, large and well lit. Fitness center was also decent size with plenty of equipment. Breakfast was in the dining room of the adjoining sister hotel and had plenty of options. I am absolutely furious about my stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Cincinnati-Downtown! My friend got trapped in their elevator for a whole agonizing hour, and it seemed like the hotel couldn't care less about safety. My friend had to rely on the shitty phone service inside that elevator for 1 of her many text to go through because, shockingly, nobody from the hotel had a clue she was stuck there! We left thinking we were getting a refund to make up for this shit show, but they didn't deliver. Their assistant manager, Amanda Reynolds, basically said, "Sorry for your lousy time, but we don't normally hand out refunds for this kind of mess. The front desk shouldn't have promised that. How about some points or a certificate instead?" This building is fucking 14 floors!! Having shitty elevators is not ideal for a building that fucking big. This place let us down in a huge ass way with their broken promises, pathetic service, and total disregard for our safety. The front desk people were great but the assistant manager doesn't give a shit. I messaged her 5 days ago demanding a refund and no response. Fucking embarrassing. Good luck at the scary ass hotel with shitty expensive parking and a broken down building!! One star for this horrific experience. I'm not going to post tons of pictures because there are plenty of others already posted that accurately represent the hotel. I had a pleasant stay. The hotel interior is nice and clean. The room was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. My only complaint is that I would like to see a little more attention to detail in regards to cleaning the showerhead. I understand that deep cleaning a shower is not a daily task, however mold/mildew should never be left to build up on the shower head. I'm probably pickier than most since I have done professional cleaning in the past, but how clean can you feel when the water you're showering with is coming out of a showerhead with buildup on it. Now back to a more positivity. The free breakfast was excellent. They had a nice variety of options. Potatoes, eggs, pastries, waffles, fruit, smoothies were some of the selections. The gentleman overseeing the dining room (Ron) was absolutely wonderful. He was very kind and took time out to chat individually with everyone. We even found out a few cool facts about the hotel building (the show WKRP in Cincinnati was filmed on the 4th floor). He managed to chat with everyone while keeping the dining area clean and removing used plates, cups, etc. I even saw him personally make a waffle to order for a young guest. Towards the end of breakfast he asked the group if anyone was checking out that day. To all that responded yes, he personally that us for coming and let us know he appreciated our business. I thought that was a very kind gesture that I have not experienced with any other hotel stays. Valet parking is offered for $30. I saved $7 by going to the self-park garage directly across the street. ($21 for 24 hours). Overall a very nice hotel. I had a great stay and highly recommend. I will give it a 2 because my first night was flawless, but the late night period for the second day was so terrible I'd almost rather stay at Eddie Murphy's haunted mansion. I was there for a wedding party. Staying with a friend who I had split the room with. Card worked all weekend. All the sudden at 1 AM with checkout in 9 hours it stops. Can't get in room, 3rd floor where party is, anywhere. Phone Service was also a joke. But the biggest joke of all Was the worker in the lobby. I respect all people but this guy refused to talk to me as a human being. I was in a city traveling, stuck in a lobby. He refused to let me up the steps because my name was not on room. I knew the room number and guys name on reservation. The Vet process was easy. I was stuck for an hour trying to reach someone to get up. The guy couldn't have cared less. He can go eat one of your terrible chicken parms from stoeffers in the lobby. Figure it out. read more

Second Hilton I've stayed in where the front desk staff is aggressively rude. In this case, you're lucky if they even answer the phone! After 7 attempts to reach the front desk, I was greeted with silence. When I said, 'hello' to see if anyone was on the other side of the phone, I was answered with an abrupt 'yah?' After asking for towels (they have on-demand housekeeping and you can supposedly call down and ask for 'whatever you need to be delivered to your room'), was told 'you need to come down here.' Nothing that was said was particularly aggressive on its own, but the nastiness with which it was spit at me through the phone was. Staffing shortages aside, Hilton, you can do better. Especially at $400 a night. read more

First things first. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. No noise. So why three stars? Because the parking is terrible. There is NO signage on how to get to the hotel from the garage, and it's a hike. There's nowhere safe to walk in the garage because you have to just jump in the structure and wander around to figure out where you're going. And before you attribute it to my bad sense of direction, there was another family of four -- two parents with their kids, lugging their bags around the parking garage trying to figure out where to go too. Also, parking there is $42 a night. Theres no easy way to get into the hotel from the garage, but a few well placed signs would go a long way to help guests make it inside without risking getting hit by a car. How hard is that, Hilton? Loved the location but probably wouldn't stay there again. read more

This stay will stand out forever, Big eared mouses resorts themselves do not hold a candle to the customer service in this hotel. The staff are some of the friendliest and most caring people I have ever met, period. From the time I picked up my key to the time that a wonderful man named David came up to help us with our heat (I literally didn't see it on the wall) I felt so welcome. We stayed in a king suit, it was very clean, very spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The lobby was clean and stylish. The taco place basically in the parking lot is alright but super convenient. The strip for shopping ect is right around the corner. The hotel is a good hotel on its own but the people who work here are what make this a place that I would recommend for sure. I seriously wonder if one of the staffers was secretly the owners. read more

This was the worse Hilton associated hotel I've stayed at. i'm pissed that i wasted my points on this place. Its an old hotel that needs and major makeover. I picked a hotel downtown thinking i would get a nice view of the city. NO! i got a view of concrete walls. there were holes in the furniture. and the final straw was no microwave or mini fridge... While the room and location were absolutely perfect, we had an unfortunate experience at the front desk. Despite paying nearly a month in advance, when we went to pay the $9 parking fee at check in, we were charged that plus the full amount of our reservation! So an unexpected expense of $220 was charged to my husband's card. I thought maybe I was misunderstanding and that what we had already paid was not going to come out of his account but when we got into the elevator it had all been taken out. After we got ready and came back downstairs, I explained to the front desk person what had happened. They started clicking around, but it wasn't until I said the exact date the original charge had been applied to my account that they suddenly saw where i had already paid in full for the room (minus the parking fee, of course.) They did not apologize and told us it would be credited back to his account in 3-5 business days! This all happened on a Friday. Even though everything else was great (we didnt attend breakfast because we were too tire), this really put a damper on our stay. This has never happened to me before at a Hampton inn. We have stayed in a few in different cities and have always had no problems up until this experience. I wish i had not been ao frazzled at check in so I could have caught it, but I just get so nervous around those types of things. read more

First the hotel was one of the worst Hampton I have stayed in. The shower backed up. How do you clean a shower if it backs up??? Why would the person cleaning it not know. Second, i had to take the elevator to three different floors to find an ice machine that worked. Finally and worst of all is parking. I parked next door and my window was smashed in. The hotel response, you should have valet parked. First of all, I am driving downtown, see the hotel and see a parking garage. I pull into the garage and park. On my way to the hotel with suitcases, they ask if I want to valet....right, I am already parked in the same parking garage that you valet in. I know that Hilton does not own the garage, but they are indirectly/directly affiliated as there really is no where else close to park. Why is valet safe and the rest of the parking garage not. Maybe they should say.....you need to valet because cars are being broken into and we have cameras on our floor, etc. This is just a terrible way to end an otherwise wonderful vacation! read more

Hotel is old & worn out. People at reception were rude & indifferent both checking in and out. Breakfast was good. They tack on sooo many taxes & extra fees that your total bill balloons up like crazy. They even stick on an extra $25 per day (or something like that) that they then credit back to you "3-5 days later". I suppose it's for possible room damage. In all my travels around the world I've never experienced such rude reception ... for what turned out to be a very expensive stay. Btw I used the fitness center and most equipment was broken. If you want to visit Cinci, I highly recommend the Hampton. Great location to OTR, nice hotel, and friendly staff. I felt like we were close to everything. The hotel was spacious and clean. The only issue was that the toilet leaked a little but not enough to really bother us. Parking was $25 across the street, but I knew my car was safe and close to the hotel. read more

This is a great spot to stay when visiting the Cincinnati area. The hotel is close enough to walk to the ballpark, or in my situation the customer allowing the opportunity to for go the rental car. This is my second stay at this hotel in the last two years, and it's past time I gave them a review. The Hampton shares a building with the Homewood Suites, but there is clear signage for both. And what a lovely building it is, one of that lovely art-deco made popular in the 1910's/1920's/1930's. At one time it was a newspaper building, the conversion has been amazing. Registration is on the second floor, and depending on which chain you're using, you will see the appropriate sign - Hampton Inn is to the right; Homewood Suites to your left. Although I had checked in online the day before check-in, I still stopped at the main desk. The young woman on duty was friendly, polite, efficient and made me feel very welcome, even to asking if I'd like a bottle of water, something which was quite welcome after a long drive. The 14th-floor room I'd originally chosen was still being cleaned, therefore I went with a 12th-floor corner room equivalent to the first. (The digital key - due to the switch in rooms - never changed to the new selection, so this is a glitch their IT needs to work on). Overall, check-in took around 5 to 10 minutes. I was pleased with my second selection. For two individuals staying in the room, there would be plenty of space; for one person it was substantial. Even the bathroom - split into two areas (one for the sink and glass footed shower, one for the toilet area) was especially roomy, which always makes me happy as I dislike the ones where you're sitting on the commode and your knees are ramming into the shower curtain or door! You know I couldn't help but wonder what this room might have been back in the old newspaper days (someone's office perhaps?). The closet was roomy with plenty of hangars, and additional bed linen on the top shelf, as well as an iron and ironing board. There is plenty of drawer space: the chest of drawers with three large drawers (the flat screen TV with a satellite link sits atop this); two nightstands, each with a drawer. I'm pleased to see the number of wall plugs available, as well as the plugs on the desk, and even ports on the lamps so you can hook up your smartphone and have it convenient to you when you're in bed. The desk had plenty of room for my wireless keyboard and the few electronics I brought with me, but there would have been space for my laptop had I brought it. There were two wastebaskets: one under the desk, one in the area of the bathroom with the commode. The room was clean, and although I always bring my own, there was one sealed disinfectant wipe left in the room to wipe down the hard surfaces. The linen on the bed I checked when I got in the room - it was clean, ironed and fresh appearing, something I always want to see. The TV reception was good throughout the small amount of time I spent in the room. My one complaint regarding the room itself: no personal safe. I was kind of surprised because I thought there was one in whatever room I used back in 2016, but perhaps not. I've been in several hotels since then. But this would be a nice addition. The public areas are quite nice. You return to the second floor and I don't think anyone would stop you from using the one for the Hampton or the one for the Homewood (the latter has a walled fireplace, pretty nice for a fall day). Both sides are comfortable and relaxing with sofas and comfortable chairs. Yes, I checked out both! The Hampton also has a small "office" area at the rear of the "living room" where you can use the computer to access Word, Excel; print boarding passes; get directions; etc. There was also a small table with seating (I believe 8 chairs) which is likely used by those wishing to have an informal conference. I did get an opportunity to have the free buffet breakfast before I checked out the next morning. The staff was professional and polite, and I noted that as soon as one container was getting near the end of its' steak and egg contents, someone was there to replace the tray. The usual waffle setup was available, as well as various pastries and breads, three cereal dispensers, fresh fruit, boiled eggs. I wish there had been a bit more of a selection, but hey, it's a small buffet and they did a decent enough job. I also noted they had the little to go bags for those that can't sit and eat. For a weekday, there were plenty of tables to enjoy one's meal; not sure how they accommodate guests for weekends. The hotel is convenient and within walking distance of many downtown locations, from restaurants to the Aronoff (a block away). One can self-park at one of the numerous lots or garages downtown (you can check out my review for my "meh" experience at 7 W 7th Street Garage), or use the valet parking, available when you pull out front on the Vine Street side. I will definitely return when I have another event to attend in Cincinnati! They are not only a credit to the Hampton family (with one of the nicest Hampton Inns I have ever stayed at), but the Hilton Family as well. read more

I love it when they turn old historical buildings into something new. This brand new Hampton Inn is smack in the center of downtown in the old Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper building. Developers took the old headquarters and converted half of it to a Hampton Inn and the other half to Homewood Suites. Woohoo - two new Hilton-family hotels to choose from in downtown! I am guessing they could not make another full Hilton hotel because of the Hilton Nederland two blocks away. I have stayed there and this property is not only newer, but it is a lot nicer! As a frequent-stayer of HI's, this is not a typical HI. Check out my pics for a peek of what I am talking about. Stayed here for a quick trip to Cincinnati recently. For starters, the hotel is in an excellent location, right in the heart of downtown Cincinnati, a half block from Fountain Square and 15 minutes drive time from the airport. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower was absolutely wonderful. The staff were very friendly and professional, and did go out of their way to help with any questions I may have had. The only issue I had was with the valet. I arrived to the hotel and pulled into the valet stand, and waited for over 20 minutes. No valet was present, no valet appeared, so I parked in the garage next door (which looked real sketchy by the way), and left the car there. It ended up saving me $15 over the price of valet parking. read more

The bed a hard and not very comfortable. Everything worked as it should. The hotel bar was very nice but it was clear the bartenders were not very experienced. My major complaint is the "free breakfast" appears to only be free because it is never refilled. The warmers were empty by 915am and the breakfast didn't close until 10. I could here the staff complaining loudly that they weren't allowed to get more food. It made for a very awkward experience. I expected more. read more

Easy parking. Great staff at check in. The hotel is lovely with tons of character. The room was comfortable, but somewhat difficult to cool on a very hot day. Closing the drapes helped. Very spacious room. Comfortable bed. Also a great price for a great hotel in a great location. I'll come back here!! read more

Poor customer service! Beware of the breakfast and food purchases at this hotel. Make sure to check the expiration dates on all food served if available. They served yogurt (2) months expired. We got food poisoning from this and was a overall bad experience. Requested to have sheets changed and housekeeping just made the beds returned to a door that was open for any one to go into our room. Waited at the counter along with multiple other guests for almost a hour to have the issue resolved, with no interaction with customer service. Had to find security to locate the customer service and he acted like I was bothering him because he was having a conversation on the phone. After everything that happened checked out to find multiple charges exceeding the agreed price and was told it was a security deposit $417.50 for (2) nights seems a little excessive. Almost a thousand dollars for (2) nights with horrible customer service, housekeeping and food that made us sick. Will never stay here again!!! read more

Rather disappointed with their lack of attention. Needed to cancel a trip booked for one night stay emailed several days in advance to adjust my stay. No response. Then requested a partial refund with my lack of response to be granted no response. Very disappointing. Needed to stay in the city will be considering elsewhere beyond Hampton. Unsatisfactory customer service overall. Will not recommend. read more

The staff was nice. The "grab and go breakfast" was less than desirable. The major issues: 1. Parking not connected to hotel and cost $30+ for over night. 2. Roll in handicap room with shower is on the 12th floor. If there was a fire, you are not allowed to use elevator. How does a wheelchair bound person go down 12 floors by stairs? read more
