I am a disabled veteran who suffered from PTSD. I have a SERVICE ANIMAL. I have stayed at the pine tree several times over the span of 20 years. Once i got my SERVICE DOG, on three occasions, i was asked to made to provide documentation for my SERVICE ANIMAL. Los Angeles County (and Tulare County) gave me a badge for her collar that identifies her as a SERVICE ANIMAL. My condition is not something i like to talk about to anyone especially people i don't know. But it is state and i believe federal policy that a business establishment may ask what the SERVICE ANIMAL is trained to do for you (which is a borderline HIPPA violation). Nevertheless, i advise strangers of what my SERVICE ANIMAL does for me. But this hotel made it quite clear over the last three occasions that they were not interested in facilitating me. I am a disabled veteran of the Persian Gulf War. I served in the United States government for over 25 years; this is a complete insult to me. I was embarrassed and disappointed. I called corporate and hope things change but i just don't have it in my heart to return to this establishment or any other best western, again. It will not allow me to post a NO STAR RATING, but i give this establishment, NO STARS. read more

We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. My husband is a veteran and relies on a service animal. Despite explaining that the animal is a service animal registered through the state of California. The hotel staff refused to accommodate us. Service animals are not pets, and we expected staff to be familiar with the applicable requirements through the Disability Act and to treat guests with respect. Instead, we were left feeling frustrated and discriminated against. We hope management provides better training so future guests who depend on service animals are treated appropriately. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we would not recommend this hotel. We will be calling corporate and further actions related to violation of the Disability Act. We put up a family friend for the weekend and we were blown away by the service, facilities and cleanliness. It has a retro Palm Springs / Tiki / Hawaiian vibe and at night the lights give off a really cool vibe. From check in to check out I have nothing but positives tho say about the Pine Tree. The motel itself is really central to everything, I can see why this place is always full of travelers. If you want to check out the coast, mountains, desert even trek to the city and use the Pine Tree as a home base you definitely wouldn't be disappointed by your decision. The area is safe, clean, there's easy access in and out, it's close to the freeway, plus you have plenty of dining options and their pool was nice...we all enjoyed a night time swim. Our friend said the room was great, she slept well, said the bed was comfortable and commented it was quiet. I would 100% put family or friends up here again or stay here myself (if I didn't live around the corner LOL) all in all, for the price, facilities, central location, etc., you really can't go wrong if you stay at the Pine Tree. read more

I have stayed here four times on multiple day visits once in 2015 and three times from September to November 2024. It's an excellent property run by expert, caring management and hard working and kind staff. Thier location is off Central Avenue just before you run into to Philadelphia. The architecture is 1960s-ish motel with a ton of modern updates and stylish flourishes when you stop inside your room. I recommend asking for a bottom floor so that you can park directly in front of your room. Some of the rooms have fans above the dining table which is great for summer evenings when the temperature drops and the AC makes the room cold rather than pleasantly cool. Plenty of space for your clothes, luggage and any food you might bring without appearing cramped or cluttered. Great water pressure in the shower and bathroom sink, very firm mattresses which is great for firm bed fans. I have had issues come up in half of my visits but Pilar, the excellent manager, and another front desk manager Andres are always attentive, solutions oriented and genuinely concerned for your welfare. The staff remembers you and are always kind. This is an absolute gem of a place that I highly recommend. My family has stayed at higher end Best Western propertiesthat don't hold a candle to the Best Western Pine Street Motel. Worth your hard earned dollars! read more

Extremely strict and racist here. I went for breakfast and brought food back to my room since I had work soon. The next day they told me I couldn't stay there anymore because of the "no bringing food back to your room policy." STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Why offer breakfast then enforce a strict rule that guests have to eat there. I am a person of color & find it interesting that the staff didn't have any sympathy for me or give me a warning. My dog also barked at a maid, only because she unexpectedly knocked on the door. My dog was nowhere near her, and only barked once. Not service dog friendly. I asked to talk to the other manager to which assistant manager Nate declined my offer. Poor experience, wouldn't recommend unless you like strict rules & walking on eggshells. read more

I used to stay here when I would come to town to visit my friends. Loved the staff and the rooms. I always felt welcomed. Never had any issues or complaints about the front desk, housekeeping, facility or the location. I am very disappointed that rates went up so high and rewards points system has changed. Yes, I know there are other hotels around that area that are cheaper but cheap comes with none of the above great services that this hotel has to offer. I have recommended many of my friends and family members to say here and they love it. Now I have no other places to refer them too. I came up to Claremont for a high school reunion, but all the hotels in the vicinity of the colleges were either expensive (Griswolds) or really bad reviews. This place is on Central right near 60, but it was cheap-ish ($115) and had fine reviews. It's a venerable old motor-court style hotel, that's been here many, many years and expanded to two more buildings. Apparently there used to be a large pine tree, and when it came down in a windstorm they replaced it, but it's still a little tree. There are a lot of palm trees, of course! I was upstairs near the entrance. The room was spacious and clean, bed was fine, there were small square pillows, bathroom was excessively tiled. I took Uber up to the Claremont area - it was $15 each way plus tip. There was some partying noise nearby at 1am, and a bit of road noise, starting at dawn, but not enough to be a problem. Temperature was perfect; I was going to turn on the fan for noise, but didn't bother. I didn't try the pool but it looked nice. Breakfast was fine, I had pancakes and bacon and juice and a banana. If that's not enough for you, there are plenty of fast food places nearby. Would stay here again. read more

I can't say enough good things about this motel. We stayed here for one night this past weekend after a long day at Disneyland, which is 30 minutes away. I absolutely will be staying here again in the future. First of all, the rate was fantastic. We stayed in one of their remodeled rooms, and it was beautiful and extremely clean. The Wi-Fi worked wonderfully, as well. Also, the service both late night when we checked in and the next morning was wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they have complimentary breakfast from 6-10am and a cute little area too enjoy it in next to the front desk. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Plusses: Charmingly retro and attractive, inside and out; clean; great water pressure; good wifi; pleasant staff; signs that they are keeping the place well-maintained. Minuses: A/c required a setting of 65 to keep the room tolerable; breakfast was full-featured but mediocre (very runny oatmeal); main light in the room was burned out Verdict: Fun but unexceptional place to spend a quick overnight stay. Our stay really was great and Pilar deserves a day off with pay. She was amazing . The reason I'm was very spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bath towels were big and fluffy. The only thing I frown upon was the cold response from the morning attendant on Saturday. We were under the assumption there was a continental breakfast since it's stated on your website. When we asked if we could get coffee (normally part of continental breakfast) she just said "it's in your room". No other explanation. 9.5.21 We booked a smoking room, which is cool. I Didn't even know they existed anymore, not that I'm old haha just the fact that they are becoming more frowned upon in this day and age. But right off the bat, upon opening the door...the smell definitely punches you in the face for a second, till you start getting used to it. Tried smoking a cig in the room, was a bit much, thank goodness there is a balcony! The balcony has a screen door and a sliding glass door, the screen was an awesome feature. The lighting in this room needs to be updated. There is such terrible lighting in here! And kind of gloomy being so dim. Even though there's like 10 different lights in one room... it still is just a mucky -- muddy type of look to it being so dim WITH EVERY SINGLE LIGHT ON. They need to get brighter, whiter lights--- like HD refresh bulbs. The actual room is honestly very spacious, considering the fact that it's just the one queen bed room. And they next visual impression I had of the room, just added to the illusion of the size of the room, (very smart tactic, I approve!) and that is: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE 10/10 the marble accented mirrors that they added to the room. It's my favorite part about the entire room!. There is a 3 blade, silent kind of fan in here, that I absolutely couldn't figure out how to turn on-- searched for remotes (which I believe there are two: one for the TV and one for the AC unit) and switches... until I finally found the fan control switch in the entry hallway wall (on the opposite side of the room from where the fan is which didn't make sense to me ‍) .... But it's nice to have the fan! Moving on to the AC. The AC Unit was very interesting to find. It was not in the average spots it was expected to be found. Instead , it was above the TV-- I am only 5'0" and the AC unit is behind the TV --installed flush into the wall. My instinct was to figure out how to reach the buttons to turn it on--- then I figured there might be a remote. And yes, there is. So that's cool at least. The TV is, at first glance small seeming. But then when you get settled in, it's just fine for this room. Not really complaining. And it definitely gets loud! The bed, is much on the firmer side, which I'm not a huge fan of personally...but that's just personal preference. The blankets are the white sheet looking ones, which I'm also not a fan of. But I like the fact that they're White, so you could see anything on them very easily. The bed and bedding was all clean and crisp. I didn't notice anything soiling them. The carpet--- just your average ugly colored and ugly patterned motel/hotel carpet. That doesn't even match the aesthetic of the room.... It's an ugly pattern, and really dark. If they ever renovate this place, I would suggest to the owners and managers, to just get rid of the carpet, especially in a smoking room--- why not just replace the carpets with like, cheap linoleum tile? A bright one, like soft cream color. It would save the carpet from cigarette burns, lessen the risk of flammability of the room, if they really want to keep carpets in the rooms (if they renovated and modernized) I would just get a couple of those really really cheap faux fur rugs for appeal and accent. it would also brighten the room, and save on whatever time and money vacuuming costs - The room doesn't have an aesthetic, it needs artwork and color. really. There is one picture on the wall above the desk. Mini fridge, average. But it didn't seem to have a freezer compartment to it. Just a fridge, I wouldn't suggest bringing anything frozen... there is also not a microwave that I noticed. There is a coffee maker and blow dryer though. The bathroom, it's fine. The thing I didn't like about it: the light switch automatically turns on the noisy fan too.... Because There is only that switch-- not that it's a big deal-- sometimes people want yet another option for little dumb things like that. One major last thing that I didn't really see personally, was if there was an elevator or not. I just know that we lugged our belongings up outdoor stairs-- if that's all there is, that might not be suitable for others who are unable to walk up and down them. Mostly--- it's not terrible. And I'm grateful for that for sure. Outdoor aesthetic is very appealing to the eye with the tropical plants and such. But confusing because it's called the "pine tree" not the "palm tree" Palm would have fit the outdoor aesthetic. All in all, good for a place to crash, rest, shower. I would stay again. I have stayed here several times in the past few years. I have had some less than desirable experiences and other great experiences. I will say it is great they have their breakfast area open again as well as their lobby area. I did not take advantage of their breakfast this last time so I can't speak for how good it is. Some of their rooms have iffy toilet pressure and some rooms have less than desirable mattress condition. But overall this is a place I would recommend and return to. read more

I was directed to this Best Western location online after the location I normally stay at in Diamond Bar was fully booked up. While a bit of a drive further, I was actually impressed with my lodgings - the Best Western Pine Tree has a type of resort feel to it, and the rooms are a bit luxuriously furnished. (In fact, I was surprised to get two complimentary bottles of water each of the two separate nights I stayed... and even two small bottles of Coke during my first visit.) On my first visit, I lucked out getting a second floor room, which had a balcony - not too shabby! And, this Best Western is actually a bit cheaper than my usual locale (about $80 as opposed to $120); must be because of the distance involved. Unfortunately, the breakfast area is pretty small; all the continental breakfast options are on one tabletop, and said selections are limited (coffee, pastries, cereal, refrigerated waffles, biscuits with sausage gravy, and hardboiled eggs). Also, not that big a fan of the relatively early check-out time of 11am. And, the lobby is closed after 7pm - late check-ins have to ring the night bell. Not too bad an overnight option, once you factor in the positives. Looking forward to future stays here. read more

The staff made the stay feel like home as they were all courteous and professional. I had a good overnight stay here when I was attending my first Yelp Eite Event in Diamond Bar and I didn't want to make the drive back home to LA (especially, since I was coming down from Simi Valley earlier). Before choosing Best Western Pine Motel, I did researched other hotels surrounding Diamond Bar and found them to either be too expensive for one night or worst, bedbugs, eww! After reading a good amount of positive reviews, I decided to book here and I was happy with the overall choice. A safe motel and the area is not sketchy at all. Here are my observations: Check-In: 4 p.m. Check Out: 11 a.m. Breakfast: Daily from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Parking: Free Parking!!!! They will have you place a parking tag inside your car for overnight parking. Service: The staff here is pretty nice. My first night here, Emily was great with assisting me with checking in and getting me a new set of key cards right away when I had accidentally locked myself out. The following day when I had checked out, another gal assisted me and she was a sweet and friendly too! The Best Western Pine Tree Motel is what I'd call a typical motor lodge with modern flair and amenities. I had the pleasure of staying here for a few days in January in one of their Queen rooms. The grounds are amazing, lovely manicured trees and palm trees abound. Very tranquil and quaint. My room was clean and accommodating. The queen mattress was a good quality and very comfortable. There were plenty of amenities, including a coffee pot, refrigerator and a 46 inch Samsung HDTV. One of the walls was a brick face which I found was a nice detail. The bathroom was definitely dated, older tile and shower fixtures, but clean and functional. The only problem I had was adjusting the hot and cold water in the shower. It took a lot of finessing to get the temperature right. All in all I would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend the Pine Tree Motel to anyone, lone traveler or family, looking for a clean comfortable and pleasant place to stay. read more

I have to say I was very skeptical after reading reviews on other hotels. I started fearing bed bugs, roaches, loud neighbors, mold growing everywhere like in stepping into a forest, sheets resembling a murder scene cover up and someone shooting their "love juice" everywhere! That being said I read the reviews of this place and it didn't sound so bad so I took a chance. Arrived after work the night before Valentine's day and let me say this place was booked. All that was left was a King Smoking room. Wasn't looking forward to a smoking room with my allergies but I had no choice. Night check in is on the side of the building. Just ring the bell and someone will come to the window. Check in was a breeze. Just answer a few questions and you're done. He told me where my room was and it was a mission to find. None of the rooms are marked visibly from you driving by so I had to get out of my car a few times and walk up to doors to check the numbers. The rooms were VERY nice. The smell of the smoke was apparent but I quickly turned on the fan AND air conditioner and left the door open a bit to flush it out. Just popped a few iboprophen and it didn't bother me after awhile. The bed was comfortable and NO BED BUGS! NO MURDER SCENE STAINS! NO LOVE JUICE STAINS! Well as far as I could tell. I didn't have a black light or anything. The shower was my favorite part. The shower head was perfect amount of flow. I didn't want to get out. I felt like I was in a studio room. I stayed here two nights on January 1st. I was wondering why I never got my $100 deposit back. I called asking why I didn't get my deposit back. The guest service lady tells me that I didn't get my deposit back because I got period blood on the towels. First off I recall only getting a small amount on one towel. How don't you give someone their deposit back off of that. What is someone with heavy flow supposed to do when they get out the shower before they get to a tampon or a pad? Horrible service. We flew all the way from Colorado. Called at 12 to see if we can get in earlier as they said our check in is at 4pm. They said no, which we understand. We arrive at 4 and they tell us that they cancelled our reservation and do not give us a reason. They say we can book again for almost double the price as we originally purchased. I've booked rooms for our employees in the past and had a mixed bag of experiences. The concierge act like bouncers and they really couldn't care less about giving you an enjoyable experience. You get what you pay for. At first, Emily at the front desk was cold, unaccommodating, and gave our employee a hard time. Her tune only changed when she realized she'd lost her company $1,000.00 because he asked to be moved to another hotel. If you're this far inland from LA and need a place to crash, look no further than this place. My fiance and I were visiting our friend in Claremont and didn't want to have to drive back to LA (almost 40 miles on the freeway? no thanks!) late at night or in the morning rush hour traffic, so we stayed here two separate nights. The rooms are really nice and comfy. I personally really like the exposed brick interior. The showers in the rooms are WONDERFUL - great water pressure and really tall, luxuriously large shower heads. The beds are plush and really comfy and the rooms were very clean. The rooms also had FREE bottled water - a really nice, simple perk that brightened my day, since I'm tap water phobic but still like to stay hydrated. The pool and patio area were really nice and clean, and it's too bad we didn't have any time to enjoy them on our trip. The breakfasts were a little more exciting than most places - hot biscuits and gravy, hot oatmeal, cinnamon raisin bread and boiled eggs were the highlights - but still had the usual carby stables - cereals, danishes, bagels, toast. For the price we paid (under 50 a night!), we felt like we were getting away with highway robbery. Which is a nice feeling to have from time to time... read more

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night. We were going to the Angels game the next day and wanted a cheap place to crash for the night. Reviews and price led me here, and I was very pleased. Room was HUGE, seemingly double the size of standard hotel rooms. Our room was on the second floor and had a nice balcony overlooking the pool area. It did appear other rooms would have worse "views." The continental breakfast was better than expected. Standard stuff(cereal, muffins, juices) were good, but the hot and fresh biscuits and gravy was really good. Stayed here a few months back and didn't review despite the fact that our room did not have a functioning AC and they couldn't accommodate a new room until the next day. This time we arrive to check in and are told our room will be without power the next day from 7AM to 8PM. We booked the room well in advance and were given no notice of this until we arrived for check in. Absolutely terrible service from this location and BW customer service had no accommodations other than "we can book you 7 miles down the road but it would be at that hotels rate". I came because the reviews were good... but my overall experience was not. When I checked in, the lobby was very hot & stuffy and there were no vents (90 degrees outside). They gave me a room in the back corner (226?) and there were dead and live crawling ants around the bathtub and it reeked of bug spray or perfume or some horrible smell. Back to the hot stuffy desk where they gave me keys to a different room. This time no bugs but that same awful smell. Within 5 minutes I had a horrible headache from the smell. Back to front desk again. Although I paid $80 per night (Non-refundable) in advance, told them I need to find another hotel and they were nice enough at this point to just credit me back. I don't recommend but am grateful the front desk didn't give me a difficult time. read more
