One last view of the breakfast dining area.

I have stayed here four times on multiple day visits once in 2015 and three times from September to November 2024. It's an excellent property run by expert, caring management and hard working and kind staff. Thier location is off Central Avenue just before you run into to Philadelphia. The architecture is 1960s-ish motel with a ton of modern updates and stylish flourishes when you stop inside your room. I recommend asking for a bottom floor so that you can park directly in front of your room. Some of the rooms have fans above the dining table which is great for summer evenings when the temperature drops and the AC makes the room cold rather than pleasantly cool. Plenty of space for your clothes, luggage and any food you might bring without appearing cramped or cluttered. Great water pressure in the shower and bathroom sink, very firm mattresses which is great for firm bed fans. I have had issues come up in half of my visits but Pilar, the excellent manager, and another front desk manager Andres are always attentive, solutions oriented and genuinely concerned for your welfare. The staff remembers you and are always kind. This is an absolute gem of a place that I highly recommend. My family has stayed at higher end Best Western propertiesthat don't hold a candle to the Best Western Pine Street Motel. Worth your hard earned dollars!

I came up to Claremont for a high school reunion, but all the hotels in the vicinity of the colleges were either expensive (Griswolds) or really bad reviews. This place is on Central right near 60, but it was cheap-ish ($115) and had fine reviews. It's a venerable old motor-court style hotel, that's been here many, many years and expanded to two more buildings. Apparently there used to be a large pine tree, and when it came down in a windstorm they replaced it, but it's still a little tree. There are a lot of palm trees, of course! I was upstairs near the entrance. The room was spacious and clean, bed was fine, there were small square pillows, bathroom was excessively tiled. I took Uber up to the Claremont area - it was $15 each way plus tip. There was some partying noise nearby at 1am, and a bit of road noise, starting at dawn, but not enough to be a problem. Temperature was perfect; I was going to turn on the fan for noise, but didn't bother. I didn't try the pool but it looked nice. Breakfast was fine, I had pancakes and bacon and juice and a banana. If that's not enough for you, there are plenty of fast food places nearby. Would stay here again.

Plusses: Charmingly retro and attractive, inside and out; clean; great water pressure; good wifi; pleasant staff; signs that they are keeping the place well-maintained. Minuses: A/c required a setting of 65 to keep the room tolerable; breakfast was full-featured but mediocre (very runny oatmeal); main light in the room was burned out Verdict: Fun but unexceptional place to spend a quick overnight stay. I would certainly consider staying here next time I am in the area (and plan on having breakfast out).

I was directed to this Best Western location online after the location I normally stay at in Diamond Bar was fully booked up. While a bit of a drive further, I was actually impressed with my lodgings - the Best Western Pine Tree has a type of resort feel to it, and the rooms are a bit luxuriously furnished. (In fact, I was surprised to get two complimentary bottles of water each of the two separate nights I stayed... and even two small bottles of Coke during my first visit.) On my first visit, I lucked out getting a second floor room, which had a balcony - not too shabby! And, this Best Western is actually a bit cheaper than my usual locale (about $80 as opposed to $120); must be because of the distance involved. Unfortunately, the breakfast area is pretty small; all the continental breakfast options are on one tabletop, and said selections are limited (coffee, pastries, cereal, refrigerated waffles, biscuits with sausage gravy, and hardboiled eggs). Also, not that big a fan of the relatively early check-out time of 11am. And, the lobby is closed after 7pm - late check-ins have to ring the night bell. Not too bad an overnight option, once you factor in the positives. Looking forward to future stays here.

I had a wonderful stay this past weekend at the Towneplace Suites in Chino Hills! While the drive…read morewas a bit messy (eternal traffic on the 91) - I pulled in a little after 3pm and was able to find a parking spot right up front. Parking by the way - unlike a lot of other hotels these days - is free. I had a great rate through my work, and booked directly on the Marriott website. I was pleasantly greeted by the front desk agent, Nicole - after a brief wait as there were two other families ahead of me. She was prompt and efficient - and I was happy that she was able to accommodate my request for a high floor. I scored a top floor room =P. The thing I love about Towneplace Suites - having stayed in a few now - is the convenience. Instead of just a microwave or a mini-fridge - you get all of that - but better versions! You get a full size fridge with freezer and ice maker (no more running down the hall with a ice bucket full of ice!), stovetop, full size microwave, dishwasher - and dishes! Your kitchen comes with your own plates, bowls, cups, pots, pans, utensils. It's like a home away from home. My Studio Suite had all of that including a coffee maker and toaster. It was great being able to buy ice cream that didn't melt in an underpowered mini fridge. The Studio Suite had a mobile work desk, plenty of outlets including USB-A ports, a sofa/sidechair, comfy King bed. One thing that was odd though is the shower. Where's the other half of the door? I don't get why this is a new trend in hotels built recently - but half the shower door is missing! And yes, there were leaks after each shower. There's a free breakfast in the morning, but honestly I didn't wake up in time to get it. That's okay - plenty of top notch dining spots IN THIS parking lot alone. You've got a 7 leaves, a brewery, pizza spot, popular brunch joint (Take Ur Seat), Domo Donuts, Vietnamese food spot, and a Wendy's that closes at 1am. But if you want to cook for yourself - there's an Albertson's literally 5 minutes (driving) away. Throughout my stay, all the staff I encountered were friendly and pleasant. Parking is free and its awesome! Despite sharing the lot with all those businesses, a Providence urgent care clinic, AND a Holiday Inn - there was never any issue finding a parking spot. It's also a well-lit lot too. This hotel has everything you need for a comfy stay away from home for a few days - great location, right along the 71 freeway. Thanks for being an awesome hostess, Nicole! Highly recommend!

I was waiting for my friend and this dude walks by I guess he was staying here since he went inside the hotel. So he walked by car I had my door open. He walks by my door all close like and I'm just like "hey what's up" . My tone was friendly. He comes back and says asking about "having a gun pulled on me" and saying "it's different when you do" and I'm like wait the f*** and he starts walking back to his SUV. And I get out the car and I started recording him. No I didn't run up on the guy although there are people I know out there who would. Like you just don't say something like that randomly to a stranger in today's times. So I recorded him leaving and captured his license plate. I then decide to notify the hotel here as a warning to them and potentially any guests that stay here. So I walk up to the front desk, and I speak to a gentleman, wanting to speak to a manager. A girl comes out with her team including the guy. I think she was the guest Services assistant manager or whatever. When I proceed to tell the story, the guy just snickered like it was humorous to him. She had to tell the guy "you're not supposed to laugh." He immediately straightened up and her co workers did as well but the fact that she had to tell them to act professional when something serious like this happening. She took control and I sent her the email with his photos. But I think some of their staff needs to have some sensitivity training on how to respond and react to things like this. Granted they were all young probably in their early 20s and they had their young office vibe going on, but still, let's keep it professional. The parking lot is public and I get they don't have control over that, but if he's a guest at the hotel then that's on them to be vigilant. The manager said she would keep a look out, although she never responded confirming my email when I sent her photos of his car and him. You just never know with people. But after that encounter, their team and maybe even herself included all might to go through some re training.
