So after I close out my tab, and decide that its gonna be a JC for my kids college and not a UC (thanks Bartender) I grab my phone and check a few motels in the area. What I was looking for was the most bang for my buck, cheap price but not to cheap of a motel. I didn't want to wake up with lice, or have to sleep with vermin, since they weren't chipping in on the bill. I see Garey Motel and book it for the night. Slept soundly, and woke up to no lice or no little friends crawling around. Like I said most bang for your buck. The story doesn't stop here though. A few weeks later I find myself in a similar situation needing a solid, safe, clean room that doesn't cost to much. Garey Motel pops up again, and I book it. This time something's different. Right when I walk in I notice the room has been remodeled. Now I don't pretend to be anything other than a special Ed teacher... I am not a designer by any means but I do know quality when I see it. These rooms have been remodeled for the better and the smell of cleanliness is picked up outside the door even before walking in your room. Remember now I look for the most bang for the buck, And I don't pay very much for the room so I figure okay next time the prices will probably go up because they remodeled their rooms. A couple more weeks go by and well here we are Christmas break and I need somewhere nice to stay for a few days while my house is being worked on, I choose Garey motel, and let me tell you why. The price still hasn't gone up since the room remodeling... like I say most bang for the buck. The rooms are awesome, and look modern. Now I will say this, if your gonna be one of those that are gonna compare this motel to the Venetian in Vegas, just get outa here, no local motel or nothing for that matter will ever please you in life anyways so move along. Be real here, have real expectations. Garey Motel offers a great fair price, modern rooms, cleanliness, and a safe place whether it's for a night or a few days and to top it off the owners are a husband and wife couple who stop whatever they are doing to help and assist you with your needs. This review was written after staying here several times within a few months span, meaning I've had time to critique this place. And well I'll say it again, I'm not a professional "motel goer." I'm just a teacher, someone who has a normal job like you, but I do know quality when I see it. Thanks guys for the awesome room, I'll be seeing you soon.

Just bummed I had to buy Starbucks on my way out the door early before breakfast started. The woman at Starbucks was wonderful. So cheerful that early in the morning and she noticed that I had left my running water bottle and chased me down to return it! The front desk staff was also really great. We left a couple items in the room and when I was unable to contact their security manager she asked for a few minutes to call me back and went and checked herself! The room was ample as they only have suites with a sitting room with a couch and TV, there was a small wet bar with refrigerator, my bedroom had a nicely sized King bed with an attached restroom with a slight awkward layout; the tub and commode were separated from the dual sink and closet. I didn't not get a chance to try the restaurant but I hope to do so on my next visit. I did get to visit the bar which provides excellent cocktails. My stay was due to the LA fair so as they say "location, location, location" there is an entrance to the fair grounds located towards the back/side of the hotel so access to and from was excellent! My sister and I drove the horse-shoe driveway that ran through the parking lot. So we saw some of the swipe card door locks looked as if they'd been beat up from attempts to gain access by force. A lot of the window screens were either missing or had broken corners where they were pried open. A guy that was milling around inside the property followed our car as we drove in and followed us out to the curb as we escaped. We then turned left onto Holt Ave. only to find hordes of homeless people setting up camp or erecting their cardboard box Condos. Most of them seemed to be staggering around and walking as if they were trying to hold their balance on the deck of a tossing ship. Mind you, this was midafternoon and happening on both sides of Holt Ave out in front of this run down 'Roach Motel'. I figured if this were the goings-on during the day, I can only imagine what it must be like a night. The person that referred me to this Motel didn't mention you'd need a Kevlar vest and carry a bat if you had any idea to take an evening stroll in this part of Pomona. This is the sort of place, that if you were to go out for the Morning Paper. You'd end up the Leading Story in the Evening Edition. The local slogan out there is. 'Come to P-Town' for the Cheap Rate Accommodations and leave on a gurney with a toe-tag in a vehicle with the word "CORONER" across the rear window. If you plan to visit out here anytime soon .‍ Call a "Suicide Hotline" before you do, because you're in need of help.

I made the motel clerk check the video cameras and she said that they showed a guy going into my room through the window while I was away. He took my car keys and my car. When the police officer arrived, she checked the window and the door and said that there was no sign of forced entry. It sounds very suspicious to me. If you value your safety, please do not stay there. It is in a very dangerous area full of gang members and very sketchy people lurking nearby the motel and staying there as well. There are a lot of vendors with handmade wares, but if you prefer commercial type of merchandise, they have it too. They have seating and grass everywhere, huge trees for shade and cooling the eating areas, there are so many places to people watch and relax. If you want rides they have so many you could be there all day just going on them. Thrill seekers and kids alike. I love the animals in the barns and all of the demonstrations they offer, milking, glass blowing, sewing and more. There is always something going on all day long. I opened the door and window to try and air out the ass smell to no avail. My girlfriend waited outside, where she witnessed 4 drug deals,2 stabbings and a prostitute taking a dump in a 7-11 cup ....it was then when I spotted which can only be described as a "butt and blood towel". Our one offering to clean ourselves . The room offered no soaps, the sheets were filthy and a homeless man was shooting wet cat food into his veins in the shower... his name was Steve. The older owner's wife had rolled up money in her nostrils and seemed confused...but she could tell I was upset and hurriedly left to her bulletproof glass office in search of her 100 year old husband. I talked to the owner guy told him the towel was disgusting and the room gave me a headache.
