Stayed here on a trip to the Bay Area. I was a little apprehensive on the area at first. But everything from check-in to check-out was a breeze. The lobby was sparkling clean and the desk assistants were all nice. They have free coffee through the day/evening. There is an indoor pool and spa. The pool was clean and the spa was a bit cloudy . Have to get your pool Towels at the front desk and the attendant said to take them to your room after use. The hotel is smaller and 2 floors and has an elevator. The room was clean and there wasn't any mold or peeling paint, leaks ect. The bed was comfortable and there was a small fridge, K-cup machine, and microwave. The air conditioner worked just fine. I didn't hear any noise or other guests and there wasn't any critters. Only thing was a faint hint of cigarette smoke can be smelled if someone decided to go outside, it came in from outside the vent or something. But very light smoke smell. There was a small hot breakfast every morning. Juice, eggs toast or muffins , waffles were pretty good. That area stayed clean at all times. I'd recommend staying here if a budget hotel stay is up your alley. You can tell that care is put into keeping up the place as much as they can. read more

Expedia, Tripadvisor, and Hotel.com led me astray with good reviews for the Corning Best Western plus on this one! Historically, I near always check for yelp reviews before booking somewhere, but Oops, I did not this time. Now I'm going back to ALWAYS lookING on Yelp before booking, even after comparing travel sites. The info I needed to not choose the BW+ is all laid out here. First the good: -The lobby and dining space were clean, as well as our second room. I was particularly happy to see a mold free shower curtain. -my kids enjoyed the waffles. The bad: -Our booked room (on 2nd floor) wreaked heavily of cigarette smoke. The smell hit us like a brick as I opened the door. Unfortunately, my kids and I had lugged in a TON of stuff from our car, as we were on an our way to spending 2 weeks in SLO, and didn't want to leave anything in our car over night. I hung out with our things, while my kids spoke to the desk about a room change. When they came back it was with a key to a room on the 1st floor on the opposite side of the building, which meant we then had to lug all of our things down a floor, and then more. The second room was thankfully cigarette smoke free. -The bedding is cheap, thin and scratchy. -There was nowhere to plug in USB cable. -We only had 2 sets of towels in the second room, and had to go back to the front desk to get the 3rd, when we had 3 people. There are also no to pool towels in the rooms. You have to get those from the front desk as well. -The pool deck was alive! I'm not kidding. There was definitely mold covering the entirety of the floor, as well as something that resembled moss. It was so gross I cleaned our shoes in our room's shower after. Ugh, and I felt it with my bare feet. I braved going in the hot tub as I was stiff and sore from the 8 hour drive, but it was not hot, not even as hot as I like for a bath... which means a bacteria haven! The jets are right at seat level, so they only hit your bum, and are really weak at that. I'm only 5'5 and a half, and the water came just below my chest while sitting. For me the whole point of a hot tub is to soak my body, which was impossible even while slouching. The front desk person was terse, and seemed unhappy to be there working with customers. When I asked if they had dairy free/milk alternatives at the breakfast bar, I was given a flat "no". Same for gluten free besides the eggs, which were all but inedible. I'm pretty sure the eggs had been the pre-made microwaveable type, like the ones they serve on cheap coach flights. This was really disappointing, as besides the Tesla charger, and the proximity to I-5, the breakfast buffet was the reason I booked this BW+. I ended up having to get something to eat elsewhere after checking out. - Lastly, the Best Western Plus wasn't even a particularly good deal $, but I figured free breakfast and pool for the kids would make it up. We like to stay at Corning Inn because the rooms are clean and we're able to get a room that sleeps 6. (Double kings and 2 pull out couches) The breakfast is hot and there's a coffee machine that makes regular and decaf lattes etc. Staff is always friendly and we can bring our dogs. I gave it 4 stars because the price is about $40 less per night than the comparable option in Yreka plus the 2nd dog fee is also less. (We only have one dog now but last year we paid $40 for 2 dogs here and $60 at the Yreka location) So more value here. Biggest downfall is the bed. It's very firm and there doesn't seem to be a topper so my back is killing me all night and today. read more

My boyfriend and I were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel! I used to stay at the old location down the street by Marcos pizza, and this new location is definitely an upgrade. The rooms were clean and we had enough towels/toiletries. The pharmacopia brand toiletries were very nice. My check in was originally at 2pm but because I was going to be at a wedding, they let me change it over the phone to 11pm which was more convenient. When we got there, jimena at the front was very sweet. To everyone making negative comments, you have to keep in mind this is the best western and not the ritz Carlton. The hotel was conveniently off the 5. The room was clean. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Cons: There was no one at the desk when I arrived. I waited about 10 mins before I finally called the hotel to see if anyone would show up. She finally did. Front desk personnel was not dressed professionally. Tank top, low cut, on her personal phone. Took a bit for the A/C to cool the room, not enough power. The bathroom is extremely tiny and the towels are like sand paper. Not a fan of the lemon scented washes. If you have sensitive skin it could be an issue. read more

Wow, what a difference between this motel and their neighboring one in Red Bluff. I have never been to a motel that didn't have cold beverages or working vending machines. The room was pretty plain Jane, not a three star feeling. I also was charged $100.00 additional because the maid said that I had smoked cigarettes in the room, which was completely false,( I haven't smoked indoors since 1992) I only had my cigarettes in my room, so totally BS!!! The breakfast was pretty lame. Upon check out nobody was at the front desk, I found a maid who barely could speak English, and she pointed to a small box for my keys and said "e-mail" when I asked about a receipt. I will not be returning to this location when I can travel 15 miles to the next town (Red Bluff) and have a wonderful experience instead of this one. I highly do NOT recommend this place. I have been fighting them for weeks to simply provide me with a hotel receipt. The crooked system they use refuses to allow me to get a receipt. So I can't send this into my billing department. We used 3rd party travel agencies all the time and tried to have them request the hotel receipt as well. Nothing! I have filed a complaint with Best Western Corporate Office and will be following up in person as well to attempt to get these receipts. Not sure why it is so hard. read more

Checked in late, check in was fast (booked online)...no other option available ...sheets had human hair all over them...went downstairs, front desk guy asked me to show him the hairs...couldn't find them because lighting was not bright in the front desk, and I had found body hairs all over all the bed sheets...towels didn't smell clean...so I threw all the bedding sheets and towels in a huge pile to wrap up and carry downstairs...then the immature kid the front asked me to show him where the hairs were...spent 30 minutes looking for the hairs...really hard to see in the lobby...found a couple hairs and showed him...bought I had found a lot more hairs when I was upstairs before getting in the bed...then I got upset because I had just drove 12 hours and was extremely tired, and told the night shift guy that I was tired and didn't feel like looking anymore...that I didn't have anything to prove...that I just wanted clean sheets... And then he told me "you don't have to prove anything to me...that's when I got really. Check in lady was friendly, checkout was fast.... ...continue above complaint: That's when I really got upset, and told him "you wanted me to show you!!! Had to wait 30 more minutes for him to find the clean sheets, which were dirty too ...had juman hairs all over...we had to sit there and pick them out...room looked like it hadn't been clean in a while, everything covered in dust...really gross...then we found a dirty wash rag hanging behind the bathroom door...it had been sitting there so long, it was stiff as a rock! Took lots of pictures after that desk boy gave me lip...going to post them on Yelp, and every where else I can post reviews about Best Western Corning...better off sleeping in my car!!! Very bad customer service. Front desk guy was nice but he couldn't help, so talked to Yolanda, the manager but she was rude and of course not helpful at all. Front desk stuff couldn't do it (is it because of rack of training? Or no authority?) and they kept telling me to talk to Yolanda so she can help me. After I talked to her, it just made me feel even worse.. Don't even bother to talk to her. From the beginning, conversation to book a room, I had never felt treated right. It was probably someone else who answered the phone. The lady who answered the phone showed a lot of attitude over the phone. This was the only hotel available at that time, so we ended up staying there. Very regretful stay. Room was clean, but shower water pressure was very low, walls are thin, we could hear people talking, the bath tub not draining. I will never stay here again. I like BW and we normally enjoy other properties, but not this one. Horrible customer service and management is very bad. read more

Needed a place to hold up for a couple of nights...perfect. It's clean, somewhat inexpensive and the service was great. Other cool things, a hot breakfast, indoor pool, dog friendly and it pretty quite for a freeway being next to it. Had zero problems at the desk. The one thing that was disturbing was as I was randomly running through the channels I ran into some porn. Not into to it so didn't appreciate the shock. We have stayed here before but this visit was a disaster. We have family in Corning and stay here when we visit. This time when we got to our room the bathroom obviously was not cleaned as the toilet was covered in what was left of someone's else's misfortune of a bad time. All down the front, I don't know how housekeeping could of missed this or they were just grossed out and didn't want to clean it but this was NOT acceptable!!! I called the front desk and we were moved, the desk clerk was mortified, but I felt we still won't be back that was a little over the top. After that bad of a gross out we should of been comped a room This was a decent place to stay but we will find another Corning motel with better housekeeping!!! I recommend that to others. read more

We were traveling through and stopped here as it is right off the highway. When I came in, I had to hunt down the front counter person to check in. The room is small and the bed had chip crumbs. The breakfast was limited and was out of some of the hot options. I would not consider this a BW Plus. The room was clean and comfortable. Some damages on walls and stuff. But not to bad, we slept good and got a light breakfast in the morning. We come here once a year and stay for several days at a time when we do come. Never had a problem until this year. Our first few nights we were in a large room, and it was great. No complaints. Then when we stayed here again, a few nights later as we were passing back through Corning again. That's when we had the issue. Ac didn't work. Receptionist said the systems were replaced very recently so there should be no problems with the AC, and they don't have 24 hour maintenance crew to come take a look. It was like 10 pm by this point, we were all exhausted, he said it would have to wait till morning, the manager of the hotel would be in in the morning and we could talk to her. But the problem was that we couldn't stay in that hot room without AC. For us adults it would be fine. Not for an infant. He couldn't move us to another room because they were fully booked due to the California fires at the time. He couldn't give us any solution other then wait until morning for the manager. So we had to haul our stuff back into the car and I gave Reception the keys so we could prove we didn't stay overnight. We had to find another hotel really late in the night that had an availability of 2 rooms. The next morning rolls around, I go back to the hotel. The front desk is empty!But there's a sign that says someone attending the front desk will return shortly, so I wait. And wait. And wait. After about 30 minutes of waiting, a cleaning lady comes and says that Yolanda is in Willows and she won't be back for awhile. So the front desk has no one attending it, she didn't get anyone to cover it, and she just left. So I call willows, they say she hasn't arrived but will call me when she does. An hour passes. I call back. The front desk lady was surprised she hasn't called me back and so she goes to get Yolanda. She comes back on the phone, yelling at me. "How did I get this number? How did I know she was there? Management Is very upset with me because I'm bothering her at a hotel that isn't hers. How dare I call her at a different hotel?!" The thing that most pissed me off was she says to me "I'm in a very important meeting, I'm a very important person, I've been called out of my meeting SEVERAL TIMES to answer the phone because you keep calling and the other people aren't happy about it." I called her out right then and there on her lies, I told her that's a bunch of crap, I have not called SEVERAL TIMES to where you had to leave the meeting. Since you've been at that location, this is the first time I called, and if you've been pulled away from the meeting for other phone calls, it's not been from me so no, you're not gonna lie to me about getting pulled out of your meeting several times by me, because I CALLED YOU ONCE. After that, she simply said "leave a message for me at the front desk with your phone number and when I get back I'll call you." I had no idea how I was supposed to do that since again, there was no one at the front desk, but I went back. The cleaning lady saw me after standing there for a few minutes and she took my info. She also informed me that she got in trouble for telling me where the manager was, Yolanda called her back and yelled at her. I felt really bad, and I was also really angry about that on the cleaning ladies behalf because the customer is always right and her just telling me where she was so I could get my money back since I couldn't talk to a receptionist, well there was nothing wrong with that. So she shouldn't have gotten in trouble for that but Yolanda is just as much a shitty manager as she is a shitty person. She has to be if she yells at an employee for helping a resident, and then yelling at said resident and telling a straight up lie over the phone. I honestly had no hopes of Yolanda calling me back, I thought she would think she could just get away with not calling. She did call back, so I do give her credit for that. Although it wasn't until after noon that she called, which means that's how long she left the front desk unattended. She was pleasant enough when she did call me back, but she also had been taken down a peg by me, so who knows why she was suddenly nice. We did get the issue resolved and I wasn't charged for the room because we didn't stay the night, which is all I wanted to know in the first place, how I was getting my money back, but the circus I had to take to get there was sooo not worth it, and as long as Yolanda is manager, we will not be giving them our yearly business anymore. So this review is based on my most recent experience. We had stayed a few days earlier and the AC worked and we had a fine experience, and we've never had issues in the many years we've been staying there. But this was enough to tarnish my review of them as well. I also don't understand how they don't have 24 hour maintenance people in case something goes wrong in a room. read more

Not sure w How/why this is a BW plus. The previous night we spent in what I would call a legit BWPlus in Salem Or. This place was pretty much a 180. First off the greeting. Not the expected hi welcome to Bw, but " what's the nam? need your cc and I'd. Hardly a warm and fuzzy feeling like in Salem. Room: fair: refrigerator had someones food left in it, postage size bathroom with a drywall patch that was never repainted and only about an eighth of roll of TP and not another roll in site. Phone calls to front desk,. Bed was ok. Salem Bw , free breakfast at the adjacent Denny's, two free bottles of water. This place neither, but a bag express of a stale pastry a banana, anyway not recommended . read more

This was a horrible experience. We reserved two rooms 4 months ago for the night of my sons Chico State graduation. We confirmed the reservation at 10 am the day of the stay. We arrived at 10:15 that night to learn they gave our rooms away. They lied to Best Western and said we canceled the rooms. Try finding a room at 10:30 the night of the Chico graduation! We had to sleep In our car with my 70 plus year old in-laws. Don't expect them to keep you reservation. I suspect they gave our rooms to others at a much higher rate. Don't stay here! read more

BEDBUG ALERT! I usually never leave any reviews for anyone and I don't really have any problems with hotels as long as they have a few basic things. For me they have to be clean, have proper plumbing, and daily housekeeping. The one thing that is completely unacceptable and can ruin my entire time there though is the pesky little pest known as the BEDBUG. As I was getting ready to leave the hotel something caught my eye and upon further investigation I realized it was a Bedbug. Not only do I now have to take steps to ensure that I don't transfer them to another place but this will be the second time that I have dealed with them in the same brand of hotel(the other being in Las Vegas). So for anyone considering staying here make sure you carefully check your bed, don't leave stuff on it, keep your luggage away from the bed, and always wash your clothes with hot water when you get home or be prepared to deal with this pest. Only thing that sucked is the 3 foot x 5 foot bathroom. So small you could barely step out of the shower to dry off. Recommended highly though, regardless. We went to Check in and the lobby was filled with the intoxicating aroma of freshly baked waffle cones! Turns out it was freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, but still! They were baking them free for guests. The room looks exactly like the pics. Small, but not unusually so. It was myself, my 12 yo, and his dad, and we got along just fine in there. The pool/hot tub area was spectacular! I've stayed at hundreds of motel and hotels and have never seen such a fabulous pool area. Indoors and equipped for handicap people too! It's outstanding! Best rated motel in all of Tehama and neighboring countries for a reason! read more

First, the front desk staff were wonderful, and their breakfast was plentiful. We stayed in room #123, and it did not meet the higher expectations that Best Western touts as a Best Western Plus. Our stays at Best Western in Yreka and Stockton was a 100 better than this "Plus." Their rooms are much bigger and cleaner, and their bathroom amenities are superior to the Corning location. The room itself was very small with two queen size beds. The mattresses were well used and should be replaced. The pillows were all throw size pillows. The bathroom smelled due to the shower curtain. Plus, the bathroom was very small. The vanity was in the hallway and it was also small. We travel with two dogs, so I'm not sure if they reserve rooms with lower standards for travelers who travel with pets, BUT again our rooms at a regular Best Western was far superior then this PLUS. In my opinion, it was misrepresented. I do know that we will not stay here again read more

I booked my room ahead of time online. Being this is a best western plus I was not concerned about my stay because this chain has always exceeded standards. When I got to my room it was an entire different story. There was 2 double beds they where calling queens, that where hard. I even checked to make sure I wasn't sleeping on a box spring. The pillows supplied where the size of throw pillows. The bedding on one bed had dirty ir ground in mud on the covers. I took the covers to the front desk for a replacement. Then I went to take a shower. Mold and dirt everywhere. I don't leave comments but I felt before you stay you need to know this isn't the stay you are expecting from best western read more

Clean room, bed was comfortable and the linens are good quality. They took my dog who was very happy the entire time. The carpet was pretty thin, but we were in a pet friendly room. Very nice staff. Good laundry but pricy at $4 for the washing machine. It's right on I 5 but it wasn't noisy. There is some good food in Corning, this is a good place to rest if you are traveling. read more

I always stay at this location when traveling to Red Bluff. This hotel is always clean. I really enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub. The breakfast is always nice as well with hot foods and cold foods. My wife and I arrived around 11pm and was greeted by a professional and welcoming front desk attendant named Diego. I have pretty high expectations for a hotel and this place exceeded them. The room was crisp and clean. There was attention paid to every part of the room. Our room was modern and felt like home. Which is very rare for a hotel. The pool and hot tub are located in a glassed area out front and were clean and sparking. The continental breakfast was the best part. I was able to quickly and easily make myself the most delicious waffle. They also had fresh fruit, oatmeal, eggs, omelettes, sausage, bacon and on and on. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone that expects only the best. read more
