this hotel has gone down significantly but the prices have gone up !! it is not cool to charge a person $125 a night when you hot tub is broken the tv losing signal constantly then blacking out !! the microwave blew out and stopped working., they have a lot of work to on a regular basis ridiculous. don't have a vet bill in his house. ice machine was broken. i hope you with the other countries think well at least you had a roof of your head well in us you have to do better than that. you want it all $125 a night. update get everything working then you'll be worth $125 a night. read more

Stayed at this motel 6 saturday may 24, 20025. upon entering the room I found no towels in the bathroom . a toilet that would not stop running .the final straw was the Nonchalant attitude of the counter person when we found a syringe in the towel rack . This property brings reputation damage to the Motel 6 brand. The hotel had significant deferred maintenance, guest rooms are in disrepair and heavily soiled with both tobacco and marijuana smoke damage. Reception Staff could not explain why a $100. deposit was collected upon check-in. Was told it was for incidentals. This property has no incidentals. In fact, shampoo/conditioner was not offered on in the bathroom, however, was sold in a vending machine somewhere on the property. I assume that the ownership or management of this Motel 6 has changed since previous reviews were written, because my stay (with my cats) was exceptional. Everything was very clean and all staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I did find the 1-bed room a bit small for my needs (I wanted a slightly larger of a territory for my cats), but when I requested to upgrade to a 2-bed room the desk employee was so kind, and did not charge extra for the upgrade! The room was immaculate and fresh. Between the two beds stood an island with a sink and counter space (accompanied by a chair). The bathroom was nicely stocked, the shower adequate. TV worked well. The room had a quite sufficient closet and a long vanity area with large mirror and a chair or two. The bed I slept in was soft and comfortable enough - large, that's for sure! I washed 2 loads of laundry during my overnight stay; there was only one working washer and dryer. 2 or 3 washers/dryers would be super, but hey, it was great just to have the laundry facility at all (which worked well, and the front desk person was terrific about supplying quarters). My cats had a blast, by the way! I highly recommend the Dixon Motel 6, especially if you are accompanied by a companion pet. read more

How horrid. I stayed here awhile ago and was not impressed, but decided to try again. I complained about the cigarette smoke, pot and cigar smoke on the third floor. It is literally a fog on the entire third floor. I did speak to the gal working at the front desk and she informed me that those were the smoking rooms, I was not aware we had smoking rooms in the state of California. Regardless, I have no idea how the smoke alarms are not going off. The beds are pretty darn old in this place and make horrible sounds, the TVs are small and not impressive. And my microwave caught on fire while I was making popcorn. The base of the microwave is filthy and Burnt, Another words, it has not been cleaned. I found some meatballs next to the air conditioning unit which is tucked into the wall. And the TV remote does not work remotely well. Pretty much this is it for me. I will be staying down the road and paying $20 more to stay at the best Western plus. I don't know how companies like this can continue to be this crappy and make money. Nor do I understand how they are not constantly calling the fire department because of electrical issues and the smoke in the hallway. read more

Get ready for an epic review. For most of our week long stay I would have to add a star, but the last night there turned my attitude around. The facility was pretty clean, and maintained well. There were a few small things, but they seemed to be on top of most things. Although the pool area was one area I felt should have pool and spa lights on after dark, but they were nocturne on during our stay. The lights on high poles were on, but none in the water We were in the area because I had to have a surgical procedure on Monday 8/9. I had to have tests on the Thursday before, pick up a prescription, and take care of business. We used to live in Fairfield, and still maintain an address there, but have been traveling in a 5th wheel trailer since June. We thought we would be able to bring the home on wheels, but no vacancies for the dates we needed. We had arranged to be there through Tuesday morning, but Monday night my significant other could see that could be difficult for me and went to the desk to extend a extra night. He came back up with new key cards and everything was good, until 11:30 the next morning. Housekeeping is knocking telling me it's past checkout time and I have to leave. I was sound asleep and my s.o. was gone to take care of things in Fairfield. This woman was yelling at me to pack and leave. I insisted that we had extended until Wed morning. Nor according to the front desk, she said. She went back to check. A few minutes later I receive a call from the desk saying it hadn't been taken care of, that I was a liar. She's telling me I have to leave, and being rude as well as threatening, insinuating having me removed. I told her several times we had extended our stay and her telling me it was not and I should stop lying. I was more than angry, and she well, I will charge his account,and hung up before I could say anything else. I was still groggy from anethesia surgery. I double locked the door and called my s.o. to tell him what happened. Apparently the desk clerk the night before had done something wrong and not finalized the transaction with the credit card. But he did give us new key cards. The mistake was on their end, yet I never received an apology from the owner/manager woman, instead I had her finding fault with me and my dog all Tuesday evening. My dog barked once...when housekeeping tried barging in telling me to leave.. Then I made the mistake of sitting in the pool area, beside the entry gate, with my dog while I was smoking, checking messages, etc. I think this woman truely felt we were trying to steal a night of lodging and felt justified being a witch. The woman from housekeeping never showed her face again. Will I return? NO. If I had received an apology I might have said yes. Do I recommend this motel 6? I don't think so, unless it's a last resort. For another 20 bucks a night another motel would have included things like breakfast, shampoo, conditioner, carpeted rooms, a coffee maker in the room, and a few other niceties. What has happened to people being polite, treating guests, customers, etc with respect, courtesy, and consideration. Is there any customer service above mediocre anywhere these days? I guess they don't value the reputation of their business, negative word of mouth is of no concern, and the expectation of the next customer, so who cares if you anger a few. Rant over. If you read to the end you deserve a medal! Oh, remember, good service is rarely discussed...maybe 2 or 3 friends would hear of it, poor service takes those numbers up fast, like here, where thousands could know pretty fast. read more

By far the most disgusting room I've ever been in. If i was not super tired from a long drive late in the evening, I would have left to find another place to stay. Room 309 right by the elevator looks like it has not been maintained since it got built. Ill start off with the bathroom...extremely unacceptable. The toilet seat is worn and damaged, looks disgusting. The towel holder where they put "clean" towels is full of dust/dirt and towels are stained and nasty. No shampoo in the showers. Shower head is extremely old and dirty. Things were rusted, the bath walls are damaged. I can't believe they book these rooms in this condition. The bed area is also old and run down. The couched has not been cleaned and has dirt/stains BAKED on the arm rests. No one should sit in that, no one. The desk "chair" has seen better days, super worn out and disgusting looking. How is that even allowed in the room? There are stains all over the rooms, in the walls, on the ground and even the beds. The room was next to the elevator and ice machine... so guess what you can hear EVERYTHING. People filling their buckets with ice, people coming in and out of the elevator... This was by far the WORST room I've ever been in. I wish I wasn't so tired that I would have left on the spot. read more

This is by far the best motel 6 I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. My boyfriend and I have been here many times and will continue to visit Dixon. It is far enough away from home to be a mini vacation spot but also close enough in case of emergency with kids and/or our animals. All these negative reviews are falsehoods we have never been given a room with cig burns on sheets or spiders in bathroom. Rooms are always nice clean and staff is always eager to help And professional . We love it !! They are always less expensive than the inner city motels/hotels in the area and the vending machines are fairly priced as well. We Love this place!! PS. Leaving a review because I don't get the hate people are leaving. We stayed here to visit my brother for UC Davis's Picnic Day and I had never stayed in a Motel 6 before, I had low expectations. So when we got there my expectations were blown out of the water. This place was nice. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean. The staff was incredibly friendly and they don't price gouge you at the vending machine (water bottles were only 50 cents). I was incredibly happy staying here and I would do it again in a heartbeat. What a dump. The parking is insane. Clearly they contract with a trucking line because there are 39 semi cabs in the lot taking 1.5 spaces each, there are no other options for are doubling up with another guests leaving after us tomorrow that was checking in when we did. Thank goodness we were both checking in at the same time. The room is dirty, there is just no other way to review it. Actual dust, drips of who know what on the walls, phone, countertop and the drawers are so filthy i just can't use them. This is so unacceptable, will be my last visit here, I can't sleep in this filth. read more

Stayed here one night and could not stay the next. Seemed fine at first but there was cigarette burns on the sheets, the floor was filthy, there were spiders crawling in the sink and bathtub. It's never quiet at anytime of day because of the echoes from the laminate floors. When we requested a refund for the last night they wouldn't give it to us. I'm an evacuee from the Kincaid fire and this is the only place that I could find to allow my dogs. The entire staff is extremely friendly, the rooms are nice and updated. They have a pretty large lot behind them to let my 2 dogs outside and play. Free WiFi, they give you recommendations of what is in the area, overall I had a really good experience and can't thank them enough during a rough situation of being evacuated. My boyfriend and I have stayed here on several occasion. Twice we have had issues with noise and bedbugs. While staying here one night a man came up and propositioned me! They did nothing about it. The rooms look clean but if you really look you can see hair and other mysterious items. Coffee is not good at all, and the front desk isn't very helpful. Manager is friendly but don't let it fool you. There are other motels in Dixon that are nicer and have more respect for their paying customers. We will not be staying here again. read more

Quite frankly, Guys and Gals, it hurts me to have to write this review. I had a very normal stay at this facility. I enjoyed the "emergency style" facility, and was able to find a competitive rate at a late hour. Due to some personal circumstance, I accidentally left my suitcase in the lobby. I've been a victim of petty thefts lately, and hit the road with some coffee and less of a stress ball in my head. I unfortunately left my suitcase in the lobby of the facilities. Upon arriving home, the typical petty theft patterns started back up. I assumed my suitcase was stolen, and filed a police report. Dealing with other stuff, I was surprised to get a call a day later that my suitcase was at the facility. It's been about a week, and they are refusing to allow me to speak with a manager. All I've asked is for my belongings back, and they're refusing to work with me. I've even offered to pay for their time. They've essentially stolen my suitcase and medication and shoes and t shirts and jeans and socks and those expensive not cotton underwear that white kids like, as the only way out of this mess is to drive back to Dixon?!?! (Oh yeah, and Passport. Don't tell the State Department yet. I haven't had the time...) Sorry guys. Don't plan this one in. read more

As a rule, I never stay at any Motel 6. However with a pinball expo in town and everything booked up. I decided to roll the dice. So, this Motel 6 is a former Red Roof Inn. The rooms are large, the TV is new and the owner is very friendly. The pool area looked beautiful. Fridge and microwave included. Dish Satellite TV, too. The couch has got to be the most uncomfortable thing I've ever sat on. As others have mentioned, there are cigarette burns in the furniture. Speaking of cigarettes, the entire time I was there, there was a heavy cigarette smell on the top floor hallway. It doesn't bother me, but others may have an issue with it. In my opinion, a real bargain for the price. They even have fresh chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven. read more

RUN AND RUN FAST... PAY A LITTLE MORE SOMEWHERE ELSE. They seem like they are good (Moses the kid at the front desk was good but that other guy KANTAR... HE LIKES MONEY NOT PEOPLE.) We reserved 2 rooms next to each other a week before (which was SUPPOSED to be on the top floor, furthest away from the freeway). My husband and I get there earlier that day and they had given away our 2 rooms that were reserved, and put us on the bottom floor NEXT to the freeway after I explicitly asked them not to. A lot of good that did. They tell us they had to give away their rooms but we had already check in and paid so we ended up staying there anyway. We didn't get in until 11:00pm that night but earlier our friends get a phone call at 8:00pm and they were told, "They were OUT OF LUCK. NO ROOMS AVAILABLE." So then we get there they put us in a room on the bottom floor. Thin windows because all you could hear were the cars and trucks on the freeway. Also everything was broken. Hair Dryer wouldn't work. GFCI was broken and hanging off the wall Can anyone say "ELECTRICAL HAZARD? The phone in the room was broken. People above us were heavy and loud. Bring your anti bacterial wipes for the hairs housekeeping leaves behind in the bathrooms. Holes burnt into comforters and blankets and cob webs as an added bonus. Oh wait, thats not all! Terrible service from a place making their money on hospitality! I requested a late check out n was very rudely told 1130am was the very latest possible and in no way could they do later. Then at 1100am they, ignoring the do not disturb sign on the door, literally walk in and kick us out of our room! Never again. Stayed on Valentines day 2015, Beautiful! Like a hotel in and out. Very clean, great staff, no smoking room was truly NON smoking, no smell, no burns, all linens, towels etc looked brand new and there were plenty. Great hot tub and it was large, great pool area had it been warm would have loved to have gone in! :) Very quiet inside the room and outside was as well, no people anywhere hanging out like in other towns. Would recommend and go back again, best Motel 6 I have EVER been to for sure. read more

This was the NICEST Motel 6 we've ever stayed in! And we have stayed in quite a few! Home-baked cookies offered in the lobby, free newspaper in the morning, pleasant coffee area with good quality coffee. That's just in the lobby. Our very clean, large room had a fridge, microwave and even TISSUES. (Unlike most Motel 6's). We enjoyed the lovely pool area. It had very nice patio furniture with colorful cushions. Even a porch swing! We were not charged extra for bringing our 100lb Bernese Mountain Dog, and we were able to keep him with us in the pool patio area! (We didn't take him into the pool, however.) I would recommend this motel to anyone. Great quality, and nice hospitable people, and excellent value! read more

Great bargain for a good price. I stayed here once when my horse had to spend a week hospitalized at UC Davis Large Animal Hospital. The rooms are comfortable, and clean. There is good wifi. It is remarkably quiet with the window closed, considering that your next to Hwy 80. After extending my stay a few times, as my horses hospitalization was extended, the lovely man at the front desk upgraded me to a room with a kitchenette, at no additional charge, saving me a good deal of money in food. I am here again, this time with a friend, whose horse has had surgery at UCD. Again, they are very accommodating, allowing me to stay in the room past check-out, while my friend waits for the vets to decide if her horse can leave today. An added bonus is the hot tub and pool. This is the best Motel 6 I've ever stayed at. Not only is my room huge but I have a sofa bed (besides my queen bed), a fridge, microwave, and GRANITE counter tops. Sorry just very impressed. The managers are amazing and go above and beyond. He is always helpful and she makes homemade cookies for the front desk. The front desk people are lovely and maintenance worker even helped with my luggage. The cleaning staff is always helpful and with a positive attitude. This is the worst hotel in dixon aside from the dixon motel but hands down this one is far worse... me and my little family came to visit the inlaws and had to stay there for a couple nights and it was discusting... aside feom the extream rude management the rooms were discusting there were body hair on the floor of the bathroom the toilet paper was not changed but just folded in to look half way nice and on top of all of that we got stuck with a room with a sofa bed wich my 3year old son was going to sleep on and when we pulled it out ther was a broken glass pipe right on the head of the matress i have pictures to prove it... when we told the front desk they sent up some young dumb rude girl and all she offered was to clean it up for us... when I demanded the manager she very rudely told me fine and stored down the hall like a 2 year old when i finaly spoke with the manager and told him he needa to make it right he tryed to blame me for it then when i showed him the pictures and got loud because what if my child had gotten hurt he told me to be quiet and he will give me a new room... expecting an upgrade we walked into the new room and saw a completed discusting step down.... needless to say we slept on a blow up mattress on my inlaws livingroom floor that night... read more

Stayed at the motel just recently. Room was on the ground floor, which is on grade. Carpets were giving off strong stale and moldy odor, probably from the recent heavy rains. I wouldn't recommend a stay in any of their ground floor rooms until the problem is corrected. We were expecting far more than we received. The room was fine. It was the service and hotel offerings that really fell short. They offer shampoo and conditioner at $1 each. We asked for some extra towels to use the spa and pool and were given 2 extra and asked to bring back the used ones asap. The final misstep was when they called our hotel room at 10:30am to ask if we where staying an additional night. Check out is at noon... Hotel itself was ok, but make sure you don't leave anything behind!! Accidentally left a set of keys behind (we live 7 hours away) and were told that they do not mail out items left behind. That we needed to come pick them up! I have left things at other hotels/motels before and they have had no problem mailing the items back to me. I even offered to pay for the shipping and after being told they would do me the "favor" of mailing them, I was lied to 3 times that they were sent. Finally I called the corporate office and after 3 weeks I received my items. Again I take full responsibility for being the one who left them, but if I lived close enough to go get them I would not have needed a motel room!! The manager was terrible and I will never stay here again if I'm in that area! read more

I was very shocked at how nice this motel 6 was and I can say I did get some restful sleep which is really hard for me to do away from home. We stood four nights on the first floor near the side exit door. We did hear and see your typical sketchy "motel" people but they didn't bother or mess with our cars. Pros: The motel is right off the highway(you can't hear the traffic in the motel) near a lot of restaurants/shopping center within walking distance; clean little pool and Jacuzzi (with wheelchair lifts); nice, helpful staff who brought chocolate chip cookies every evening; clean, remodeled rooms; affordable rates; comfy beds; a lot nicer than some of the more pricey hotel/motels I've stood in. Cons: You could hear people coming in and out or even going into the room next to ours, that was typical given the room we asked for since our dogs were with us the first night. Overall, I would highly recommend and stay here again. read more
