Ok for a quick stopover on aomg drive. If you check in late expect to get the rooms along the back which are very close to the freeway. There's really no noise deadening although it did quiet down for the night hours. There are 4 ev chargers. Breakfast is included and was your typical breakfast buffet fare. Restaurant on site closes at 9. (we didn't try it) We typically choose the Best Western plus properties because they are more modern. This one is your typical 80s exterior entrance highway motel. It has been updated sort of but still feels like an older property so I didnt personally feel it aligned to the plus designation. That said, it was fine for rolling in late and out early. read more

Don't stay here if you want a quiet night's sleep. If you get booked in a room at the very back of the hotel, it sounds like you're sleeping under a freeway overpass. Asked if I could possibly get a different room due to the noise and was told that the "upgrade" would be $30. Not a ton of money, but I don't feel like a quiet room should count as an upgrade. Part of the noise issue is the door doesn't seal properly. There's a large gap letting in noise and cold air. Improved by placing a chair in front of the door to push it shut so obviously a defect. First off, as you can see on my profile I only ever leave good reviews. So this is my first and goes to show how disappointed i am. I came here and ended up leaving that night because the room was so dirty. Pee all over the toilet. Tables and handles sticky and dirty. I called the manager for the next two following days to let her know of my issue, after spending 220+ on this room and not even staying there. I finally got ahold of her and she was so incredibly rude and told me there is nothing she can do do because I left that night and didn't tell any one of my issue. I explained I walked into the lobby already having a horrible day and I didn't have the mental capacity that night to make an issue with the front desk. She told me they could have gave me another room and I told her I wouldn't have wanted to try another room after seeing this room. I just needed to go somewhere else and sleep. I told her I didn't understand because I immediately called her the next morning AND the following day to try to resolve this and explain the situation. Close to freeway. About 100 feet away, was our room. The sound died down at night. Unfortunately the dog area was REALLy close to freeway, so it was a little scary for our dog. There is a pet fee of $30. The hotel heating is good quality and quiet. The hotel was probably built in the 70's, but is on good maintenance. Except for the carpeting. Hopefully, in the future they replace it with laminate. Because it was a little gross. The housekeepers do a really nice job, but for the flooring.. you can't make a pigs ear into a silk purse. The staff is friendly, and professional. The restaurant was pretty good. Breakfast was not bad. The place was very busy with local company parties. If you book a room, ask to be away from the freeway ( in the back). read more

Paid nearly 300 dollars to get woken up at 7am by construction literally outside my hotel room on the pool. Could've scheduled it later since the checkout time is 11am but nope, hotel property manager said "let's start our construction at 7am. Come on over guys." I expect someone outside talking loud or dragging luggage early and having to deal with that but I'm not making this up there's a jackhammer outside my door right now. I honestly can't believe I paid full price for this. I feel like the bargain of a hotel is an attempt by the staff at giving guest a full nights sleep, I never expect it to get it, be the hotel itself waking literally everyone in the hotel up 4 hours before checkout. After some research, calling AAA speaking to AAA representative to verify 3 diamond rating despite less expensive Best western and other neighboring Hotels I decided on this one for our 6 night extended stay and I must say despite the excellent staff I was extremely disappointed! On day #1 : I asked 3X for extra pillows and was denied stating They didn't have any extra = Strike 1 I'm paying over 177.00 per night and NO extra pillows ? Seriously? 2. On day # 1/2 I asked for microwave as I have medical need and was denied stating they had one in lobby. I need in room for my medical needs not in lobby! Strike 2 3. Day 1/2 They had nice marble round table (shown on their website) with 2 chairs. We are a family of 3 and needed one as indicated on their website and again was denied! This would indicate "false advertising" we personally never seen any in either our room or the rooms we happen to pass by they claimed they had some in other rooms but not ours and no extra for our room ! Strike #3 So friendly staff not so friendly when denied all requests! to make matters worse! 4. Cleanliness = 1 Star The rooms where not clean very dusty and we found old baby sock under chair with lots of dirt on counter tops, under chair and floors where so dirty the bottom of our socks where black ! They only cleaned our room 1X the 6 nights we stayed and didn't ask us if we needed anything ! NOT EVEN AT CHECK OUT ! If our stay was good or not! Under chair was sooo very dirty and who knows how long that sock was there! 5. Breakfast = 1 Star Was horrible and doesn't reflect the C.R. Cribs or Best western Hilltop reputation or diamond rating on any level. It was the same every day . Runny watery eggs, burnt potatoes, sausage and French toast. Greasy bacon. They always started putting food away 45-1 hr before breakfast ends and I've seen them use towel to quickly wipe up syrup on floor leaving floor sticky for others to track on their shoes and didn't seem to care . The staff was not very friendly and rude! The selection of breakfast was absolutely horrible especially for C.R. cribs and Even for a best western. 6. Room = 1 Star Very small and extremely compact! Coffee maker in bathroom(really) hardly enough room in bathroom and then add coffee maker! and toilet was so close to door you could not open if someone using! Not made for long stay ! Unfortunately I would NOT stay there again and would not recommend for longer stays ! P.S full disclosure: they have you signed and/or initial places in case you need medical attention, If they smell cigarette smoke (We don't smoke at all ) where if they wanted to could falsely charge you 250.00 if at their sole discretion smell cigarette smoke. So in reality if someone out side smokes and they lingers into your room you Could get charged ! They claimed that would never happen but who knows? Ugh. This place is a disappointment. Step 1: waited for several minutes to check in ( unattended). Step 2: for the price, I was expecting a bed from this century. It might as well been the floor. Step 3: outside doors to rooms wasn't clear when booking. It's loud right off of the interstate. Step 4: my bathroom has no counter to put my stuff on. A simple sink and yucky shower. This place screwed us! Paid $200 for this room. We were looking for a nice comfortable place to stay during a two day road trip. Apparently, there was a planned hot water outage for the entire property. However the desk did not let us know. Front desk did nothing to help and was rude and defensive. Guessing we were not the first people to complain. They started work at 6am with people having loud yelling conversations out in the hallway. I don't get it, why not wait until after checkout to start work like this. Why not ensure every guest knows they will wake up without hot water? No heads up and lucky us, we get to drive in the car all day after no shower. They sold us a $200 room that didn't have a shower in the morning. Don't come here, there are five other places right here to choose from. Unreal! Update: we called to complain to the booking site Hotel Tonight. We've stayed at this hotel multiple times with our car club. The last several years they have been updating the place. This time it wasn't too bad. The rooms are clean with a nice bathroom with lots of counter space, at least in the room we stayed in. The breakfast is always pretty good, especially compared to other BW. The gal checking us in had no personality and wasn't friendly. We had a very large group, but she was terrible. My only complaint this time around is that I left a pair of prescription eyeglasses in the room. I didn't noticed it until the next night at the next hotel. When I went into my bag, they weren't there. I immediately called the hotel and asked them to look for it. I told them the room # and the 2 places they'd be. I remember my bag tipping over, and thought, I hope nothing fell out. My mistake for not looking. The glass case is black and the carpet was dark too. They said they didn't have them and they'd go look. They never got back to me so I called again at the next location. Again, they said they didn't have them. These glasses are expensive and I know they are there. I really don't think anyone personally went in to look as they said they would. Very disappointed that this happened. We had to make a stop in Redding on our road trip. We found this hotel through one of our partners program. The hotel is situated in a nice location; business district. The quality of facility is about medium grade. The room was clean. The customer service was excellence. It comes with buffet breakfast, which is pretty good. There are varieties such as scrambled egg, sausage, granola cereal, regular cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, milk, and coffee. The price was a bit expensive considering the facility quality, but when you favored in the breakfast, it's not too bad. There are areas that could be improved: 1) the pillow smelled bad as I had to put towel over it in order to sleep, 2) the heater was very loud when it was on as it kept us awake at night. Not sure if other rooms are the same, but these are the experiences we had in our room. read more

Decent hotel. Security might be a concern. Our bike almost got ripped off, good thing it was locked to the rooftop rack on our car. Saw security walking around the parking lot throughout the evening. Room itself was small. Beds were more full size than queen. A place to sleep, that is all, not to hang out. Not much to see and do in Redding, this was just a quick stopover. High point was the restaurant, called simply Bar & Grill. Surprisingly good food and service for a hotel restaurant. We ordered venison burgers and southern fried chicken, large portion size, very tasty food, and good wine selection, this being NorCal. Service was quick, friendly and on point. I have been a BW Rewards member for years. I stayed in this BW years ago and it was great. That is why I decided to make a reservation at this hotel during my road trip from Washington. The lobby was clean and inviting. Both clerks were friendly. BUT, I am allergic to dogs and I told the clerks I cannot be in a room that has had pets in it. They told me the room I am assigned to cannot be changed because of the "type" of reservation I had, and that the room might have had pets because it is an overflow room for pets. I didn't really understand what they were saying about the "type" of reservation, but finally realized it was because I used my points to pay for about half of the room cost. I went to the room to check it out and right away started to wheez and get a fuzzy tongue. Since the clerk had made it clear that my "type" of reservation didn't allow for changes, I got on my phone to make a reservation at a nearby Mariott, which I also have a membership to. I then went back to the front desk and told the clerk I could not stay in that room. It was then that he got on the phone with the manager and got the OK to change me to a poolside room. I let them know it was too late, that I had made my reservation at another hotel. They let me know I would get my points back. First, I do not understand the policy of allowing dogs into all the rooms of a hotel. Have they never had to deal with people who are allergic? Second, because of the "type" of reservation I had, I was placed in the very back of the hotel, off the garbage cans and freeway. The room was right out of the Motel 6 decor play book. No offense to Motel 6, but when I book a BW Premier, I usually know exactly what I am getting. This room was dark and dingy. The only conclusion I took from booking my "type" of reservation is that if you are a loyal BW Rewards Member, and DARE to use those points you have earned spending numerous nights at BW Hotels, then, at least at this hotel, they will reward you with the worst rooms they have. The hotel I finally ended up at, the Sheraton at Sundial Bridge, also allows dogs, but the moment they heard I was allergic to dogs, they upgraded me to the Club level at no extra charge. The Best Western clerk either should have the authority to move guests with needs like mine, or should have been on the phone to the manager at the very moment I mentioned my allergies. I am very disappointed in being treated like this after being a platnium member for years. read more

Nice hotel in a central location. However, not sure why they decided on shutters for the windows. Sure, they look good, but if you need complete darkness to sleep, they won't cut it. Will definitely stay here again We were doing a weekend getaway in the Redding area past weekend. My criteria for a road trip has to have the following: 1. a pet friendly room, I often travel with my dog during weekend trips if possible 2. have EV charger available. This hotel actually has 2 Tesla chargers and 2 J1772 charger. I was able to get 8kw of power from one of the tesla charger. The scary side? There were 5 charger during the night I stayed, so... don't heavily rely on hotel charger. But I have to say, this is one of the rare hotel/motel that has 4 chargers. Typically if the hotel has EV chargers they might only have 2 or 3. Onto the stay, check in was easy. A few hours before the 4pm check in time, I received a text saying that the room was ready. Amazing! The check in process was typical. I was informed there will be breakfast served at their attached restaurant. All rooms faces the outside, so there is probably a parking right outside your door. We booked a King bedroom Pet Friendly. To my surprise not all pet friendly room are at the same area. They did spend some effort on separating the pet rooms, so the doggies won't bark at each other at night I assume. Very nice touch! The hotel is very pet friendly, there are a few places with poop bag and trash bin around the parking lots. I took my dog around the hotel a few times as the morning walk. We stayed at a room that faces the freeway, the road noises from the freeway wasn't noticeable except some super loud motorcycle and heavily mortified cars. In the morning I picked up the breakfast in the restaurant. You give them the ticket and they will give you the prepacked to go boxes. Surprisingly it was some pretty delicious hot food! The egg was pretty good, but the gravy was a bit too salty, but still good! There are coffee, OJ, yogurt, oatmeal that you can help yourself with. Not good. Had to find a hotel quick while on a road trip due to some bad weather coming in. Took a gamble here and it was a miss. Hotel is being renovated. Was not told until AFTER I checked in that the room above us would be under construction at 8AM the next morning. Not mentioned on the website when I booked which is not cool. Phone in the room did not work. Not cool. Must have been in a newly renovated room, which was nice, but they did a poor job prepping it as the desk chair (on wheels) that was in the room was not put together correctly and when we sat on it the screws fell out of the bottom and the chair came apart. Thankfully we were not hurt. The most annoying part of this stay was the morning following check in. We were tired and resting for another day on the road. The little door hanger was on the door, clearly indicating we were not to be disturbed. Surprisingly though, at 10AM, a knock on the door...then another knock on the door. Angrily I ask what they want and I hear the house keeper say, "sorry, I was just checking." What the heck! It was hours before checkout. Why ignore the privacy sign? NOT COOL! read more

I have had multiple stays at this hotel. The staff is always terrific, friendly and helpful. On this particular visit, everything went well. The only down side was jack-hammering too early in the morning working on the hot tub. I know the work has to be done, and I am not an early riser, so it was probably only annoying to me. Disappointed the pool area was closed for the time being with temperatures over 100°. It's always my feeling that pools should be repaired during the off season, but what do I know. I would recommend and will continue to stay at this hotel when I am staying in Redding. It has far more positives than negatives. read more

During our family vacation we stayed at this location. We got three rooms with different layouts for various members of the family. The rooms where a fair size. The temperature outside was 105F so good AC was critical. We liked the fact that the room was cool when we unlocked the door for the first time. We also really enjoyed the buffet breakfast which was a bit better than other Best Western locations we have visited in the past. We only had 2 complaints. One was that the rooms in the very back were loud as they were near the freeway. Also in one room the AC was a bit loud. The other complaint is that for ALL of the rooms the card keys stopped working MORE than once! It was frustrating. The front desk quickly fixed the issue but it was annoying. Run away do not look back, lots of nice hotels in Redding this is not one. First I would call this a motel all rooms have outside doors. pool not heated, hot tub luke warm. no insulation in the building sound travels between the rooms. Had a child above us running around the room for over a hour, Megan at the front desk said she could not do anything about it. we moved to the hotel next door, nice, modern and clean. We are Bestwestern platinum members and are rethinking our relationship with them if they allow a motel like this to have there name on it. read more
