    Garbage on the floor

The room was dirty, and the mattress of the queen bed needed to be replaced years ago. It sagged significantly and was lumpy -- a really bad fit for someone with back issues. One outlet near the bed was broken and unsafe to use. A plastic wrapper and debris were on the floor, indicating that the room had not been vacuumed -- or at least not vacuumed well. I found a piece of debris on the bed sheet.

Door doesn't seal properly, making the street noise worse.

Don't stay here if you want a quiet night's sleep. If you get booked in a room at the very back of the hotel, it sounds like you're sleeping under a freeway overpass. Asked if I could possibly get a different room due to the noise and was told that the "upgrade" would be $30. Not a ton of money, but I don't feel like a quiet room should count as an upgrade. Part of the noise issue is the door doesn't seal properly. There's a large gap letting in noise and cold air. Improved by placing a chair in front of the door to push it shut so obviously a defect. Disappointing for a $200 room.

First off, as you can see on my profile I only ever leave good reviews. So this is my first and goes to show how disappointed i am. I came here and ended up leaving that night because the room was so dirty. Pee all over the toilet. Tables and handles sticky and dirty. I called the manager for the next two following days to let her know of my issue, after spending 220+ on this room and not even staying there. I finally got ahold of her and she was so incredibly rude and told me there is nothing she can do do because I left that night and didn't tell any one of my issue. I explained I walked into the lobby already having a horrible day and I didn't have the mental capacity that night to make an issue with the front desk. She told me they could have gave me another room and I told her I wouldn't have wanted to try another room after seeing this room. I just needed to go somewhere else and sleep. I told her I didn't understand because I immediately called her the next morning AND the following day to try to resolve this and explain the situation. I finally reached her and she ended up hanging up on me on the phone. I am in shock with this manager and room, I will never recommend this place to anyone again

    Dirty and baby sock found

After some research, calling AAA speaking to AAA representative to verify 3 diamond rating despite less expensive Best western and other neighboring Hotels I decided on this one for our 6 night extended stay and I must say despite the excellent staff I was extremely disappointed! My review is as follows Hospitality items 1-3 = 1 Star 1. On day #1 : I asked 3X for extra pillows and was denied stating They didn't have any extra = Strike 1 I'm paying over 177.00 per night and NO extra pillows ? Seriously? 2. On day # 1/2 I asked for microwave as I have medical need and was denied stating they had one in lobby. I need in room for my medical needs not in lobby! Strike 2 3. Day 1/2 They had nice marble round table (shown on their website) with 2 chairs. We are a family of 3 and needed one as indicated on their website and again was denied! This would indicate "false advertising" we personally never seen any in either our room or the rooms we happen to pass by they claimed they had some in other rooms but not ours and no extra for our room ! Strike #3 So friendly staff not so friendly when denied all requests! to make matters worse! 4. Cleanliness = 1 Star The rooms where not clean very dusty and we found old baby sock under chair with lots of dirt on counter tops, under chair and floors where so dirty the bottom of our socks where black ! They only cleaned our room 1X the 6 nights we stayed and didn't ask us if we needed anything ! NOT EVEN AT CHECK OUT ! If our stay was good or not! Under chair was sooo very dirty and who knows how long that sock was there! 5. Breakfast = 1 Star Was horrible and doesn't reflect the C.R. Cribs or Best western Hilltop reputation or diamond rating on any level. It was the same every day . Runny watery eggs, burnt potatoes, sausage and French toast. Greasy bacon. They always started putting food away 45-1 hr before breakfast ends and I've seen them use towel to quickly wipe up syrup on floor leaving floor sticky for others to track on their shoes and didn't seem to care . The staff was not very friendly and rude! The selection of breakfast was absolutely horrible especially for C.R. cribs and Even for a best western. 6. Room = 1 Star Very small and extremely compact! Coffee maker in bathroom(really) hardly enough room in bathroom and then add coffee maker! and toilet was so close to door you could not open if someone using! Not made for long stay ! Unfortunately I would NOT stay there again and would not recommend for longer stays ! P.S full disclosure: they have you signed and/or initial places in case you need medical attention, If they smell cigarette smoke (We don't smoke at all ) where if they wanted to could falsely charge you 250.00 if at their sole discretion smell cigarette smoke. So in reality if someone out side smokes and they lingers into your room you Could get charged ! They claimed that would never happen but who knows? If you refuse to sign you could find yourself scrambling to find another hotel at last minute! Be for warned!

I'd give this place more stars if I could. We were traveling with our dog and usually we get not so nice rooms but this room was quiet, clean, and big and very comfortable. The bed was comfortable and clean and the front desk was very helpfu. The connected restaurant CJ Grubbs had excellent steak dinner we took to our room I will stay here every time we pass by. It was decorated for Christmas and was beautiful. oh and it had a place for our dog to exercise and relieve himself

Surprised it was good pick. Read Google reviews followed by Yelp. Nice "cj cribbs" American grill where the breakfast buffet is served.

I was traveling with a client of mine who has very occasional seizures, and early on in our first morning here he had one while alone in the shower. Luckily, this hotel is sandwiched between lots of different hotels and restaurants, but more importantly, between the fabulous Shasta Regional Medical Center the proximate Redding Fire House. First Responders were on site in about ten minutes (which felt like an hour) and transpo went smoothly despite there being no elevator and us being on the second floor (the staircase has a landing and everything). Now, this is all well and good, and relatively standard if I may be so bold, but I'm here to say that the staff at the Americana went way above and beyond the call of duty. Housekeeping was in the next room when he collapsed. When I saw the severity of the situation I-in a relative panic, ran over to nearby staff to ask for help. This incredible woman, Darby, was the perfect person to help (second only to an actual first responder, RN or doctor). After calming the situation down with nothing but grace, she explained a little bit of her own history with seizures and what it meant to her to be able to help us in any way. Darby supported my client and I both physically and emotionally while he came out of his seizure and fell into a deep sleep, thank God, and she even stayed with me for a few minutes after he had been loaded into the ambulance. She and her boss, the manager Heather, and another lovely woman from the Americana whose name I never caught, were so supportive, kind and patient with me while I tried my best to help the PMs gather the information they needed about my client. I'd imagine some people had to check in or out a bit late because of us, sorry! But I couldn't be bothered by other guests after how helpful the staff was. PS . He was cared for in the nearby SRMC, a great hospital about two blocks away. He is now home and in stable condition. TL,DR Staff came in clutch for IHSS worker when senior client had a seizure in the shower - Housekeeper & management absolutely rock The local hospital is excellent!!

It was not large and should have been for the price. But it was super clean and very comfortable. The pool was great and it was a hot day so we used it. They have a 24 hour business center which is fine and I needed it. The eatery is just fine, not great. But you will find something you want. I went up with her to the bedroom and needless to say, was so impressed with her style and quality that she brings to her B&B. The room seemed to be flawless in the way that she spent time picking out pictures and linens. The linens were even washed in a very nice fabric softener and didn't have that normal "hotel" smell. I was able to get the Sun Dial Room, and even though it was the most expensive, it was definitely worth every penny. There was a fresh, large bottle of water in the room with chocolates. I had free wifi and a nice flat screen TV. A jacuzzi tub. And oh, did I mention.. the best, most comfortable bed that I never wanted to leave? Top it off.. breakfast in the morning makes me giddy just thinking about it. I had french toast, a vegetable frittata, potatoes, chicken/apple sausage, fresh juice and coffee. Janelle served breakfast promptly at 8:30 and I was definitely there with bells on. Everything was served family style and while eating breakfast you are able to enjoy the company of other guests, which makes breakfast that much more entertaining.
