The front desk staff were friendly, no issues there. When we made it to the room, we heard two dogs barking pretty aggressively next door. Thankfully they quit barking! The rooms could use a remodel, the tub was worn and windows had something black inside (not mold, maybe failing seal?) We were itching a lot the next morning, not sure if they let dogs stay in every room or if it was the laundry detergent they use. Dang. 175 bucks in 2025 for this room. No electric charged in the parking lot. Bathroom is SEVERELY outdated, with a tiny, small, low-to-the-ground toilet and miniscule shower. That weird bar soap that leaves a slimy film on your skin. The fridge in room is barely below room temperature. And I found some previous guest's leftover garbage food is in there...smelly as hell and not very cold. Moldy all over. Can't throw it away or the room might smell worse than it already does. 175 bucks. And the TV is standard definition. Yep. I haven't seen a grainy, fuzzy TV like this in years. Years. Fortunately, it's small, so why bother anyway? Pool is heated and open until 11 and breakfast has that huge window of 6-9 AM. The pros: clean, comfortable beds, and a delicious hot breakfast. The woman in charge of breakfast clearly cares about her job and took pride in what she was doing. She was sweet and I appreciate someone who cares about their job like that :) The cons: arrived and was told the elevator was broken and we only have rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Very inconvenient considering how much stuff we had to cart up to the room, but okay, we made it work. Finally laid down after 8 hours of driving to watch some TV (one of my favorite Marriot perks - signing into my Netflix!), but low and behold, Netflix and Amazon wouldn't work. Error code after error code. I ask the front desk, and they have no answers, just say "it's a Marriot-wide issue". Fine - I will log on to my iPad and just watch some stuff on there. NOPE. The internet was so slow, it just buffered. What is the point of paying for amenities, if none of them are working? I waited for an email survey to let them know, but it never arrived. No compensation offered. Too tired to care. Long story short - if you're looking for a clean place to sleep with a nice, hot breakfast, this will do. If you're looking for literally ANYTHING extra - don't get your hopes up. read more

Average place. A couple hundred feet from the freeway. The room was okay. Clean except the ants everywhere. Do not take room 220, it's right over the hotels electric door so it sounds like someone dragging furniture across the floor in your room every 10 minutes. They'll tell you they're upgrading you to a suite so you'll take the room. The rooms that face the freeway are noisy. You better be a good sleeper. The hot tub was and has been unusable for a while. Pros: They have a good breakfast. There is also a great deli next door. Staff is friendly. I won't be going back. read more

Did a quick overnight stay to break up our road trip and this place had everything we needed. They gave us a free upgrade to the king suite with jacuzzi tub, room was clean and comfortable, and the parking lot had plenty of space. The free breakfast had great options for people with special diets. I was planning to skip the bread section altogether until my husband pointed out that they had individually wrapped gluten-free bagels (which were also dairy, soy, and nut free) and those bagels were delicious! They also offered vegan sausage and oat milk, among the other typical offerings (pork sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, etc). We'd definitely stay here again in the future! read more

What's up: We are on our road trip and our first stop was Redding. It's right off the 5 FWY so it's convenient but can be a bit noisy outside of the building; I didn't hear any road noise from inside the building. Parking: Plenty of parking available around the hotel. There was another building being built nearby so it might be more busy in the future. There were light poles that had plugs in them that we were able to use to charge our EV. Environment: Social distancing guidelines are being followed and masks are required. Once you enter, the check in counter and the Market, is immediately towards your left and the sitting area on the right. Further down is the business area and the breakfast area. They still have free breakfast!! Fast breakfast (breads, muffins, cereal, and oatmeal) was readily available on the counter. There was an option to ask for hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, and biscuits and gravy. Breakfast hours are Monday through Friday: 6 am to 9 am, and Saturday and Sunday: 7 am to 10 am. The gym was a bit small and only had treadmills and some free weights. What was ordered: - We had two Queen beds (super comfy. Individual soaps and shampoo were available in the bathroom. They also included antiseptic wipes. The room was clean and included a microwave and mini-fridge. There was also USB plugs in the alarm clock) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Our stay was fairly comfortable. Having free breakfast was definitely a plus and being able to charge our car was extremely helpful. It was a simple and decent stay. Credit cards are accepted. read more

The Good, Truck Trailer parking at the north end of the hotel. Breakfast served in the morning, and happy hour, unusual for Fairfield. Easy on and off highway 5. I stop here when i'm headed north. The Bad, the odd numbered rooms face highway 99. Even as a Marriott Elite, i get a room that sounds like i'm on the median of highway 5. To be fair, Ive gotten rooms that ran the gamut of free upgrades (big bathtub) to this room (125) that feels a notch above Motel 6. The Ugly, only if you believe in science. They, the staff and many of the clients, don't believe in masks. This is probably more reflective of Northern California than the hotel chain. In summary, Its a Fairfield at the north end of Redding CA, not my first (or second ) choice, but it works. A basic (hopefully) clean room with all the amenities you need. read more

If you're traveling up to five out of California but want to stay in California before crossing into the Oregon border Fairfield Inn and suites is one of the last hotel stops. My friends and I decided to take a trip up to Oregon and since it was along the way we decided to make a stop and rest up. Located right off the freeway the hotel was very easy to fine and their parking lot was decently spacious. If you are driving a EV, like we were, you may be lucky enough to find a 120v plug to top off of a bit. Check in was easy and I was able to get from my into my room within 5 mins. The rooms were on par with other Fairfield Inns I have stayed at in the past. Sheets and the room were clean and there is a ice machine on every floor. The gym was smaller than expected as I can only see four people (pre Covid) working out at the same time. They had free weights going from 2 1/2 pounds to 45 pounds, 2 treadmills, a elliptical, and a stretching rack. They had a filling station for your water but it was empty when we're finished our workout. A nice welcome was a hot breakfast the next morning in preparation for the continuation of our trip. They had coffee, hot water for tea, milk and cereal, a variety of juices, and to go breakfast sandwiches. Due to Covid restrictions hot breakfast was only available if requested. So if you have time, like we did, you ok ask the attendant for a plate of hot food that you can enjoy. For my Pokémon go friends out there , I'm sorry to say there are no PokéStops or Pokémon gyms at this location. Overall a nice stop while on the road. read more

We stayed 3 nights here as we explored nearby Lassen Volcanic National Park. Hotel was modern and staff friendly. Rooms were clean though smaller in square footage than most rooms we are used to in the chain. In-room mini-fridge has a mini freezer. Hotel generously offered a happy hour with free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. And a single appetizer offering (e.g. pulled pork finger sandwiches, cheese dip and chips). Each day after 4PM or something, the front desk offers fresh cookies. Reminds me of lodges that welcome folks off the slopes with warm cookies. Very welcoming! Pool had a hot tub, which other chain locations don't always have. That was a nice and relaxing touch. Breakfast varied day by day, which was great for longer stays. We really enjoyed our stay here last summer. The breakfast was good and the pool and hot tub were great. We had them all to ourselves most of the time. They have coffee and water available in the lobby all day long which was very nice. For those with pet allergies, be aware that they do allow pets in rooms on the first two floors, so you will have to request a room on the third floor which are pet free. I did not realize this until we got there, and luckily they were able to move us to a top floor room. We would stay here again if we are in the area again. read more

My friend and I stayed in this Fairfield Inn & Suites location, while staying in Redding for the weekend. Upon entering, we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman working the front desk. We asked if there were any good restaurants nearby and he gave us a great suggestion. He even printed out the directions for us! The hotel is well-maintained for a comfortable stay. While we stayed here, it looked like they were doing some construction/remodeling to part of the building. However, you barely noticed since the construction area was well contained. Besides that, everything this was neat and well-kept, from the hallways, elevator, and the rooms! Our room was well maintained with updated décor. The room was comfortable and cozy, which was much needed from the drive to Redding. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. It almost felt like I was melting into the bed and pillow when I laid down. Cheers to great sleep and blackout curtains! Most of the guests were respectful to one another, so you didn't have to worry about being woken up in the middle of the night by someone wanting to watch TV and/or talk very loudly. Many guests were very friendly and mingled around during the breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet was delicious and included with your stay! They had sausages, eggs, waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, pastries, yogurt, and other great options. There was a little something from everyone. Overall, I'm very impressed with my stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites Redding. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming and even to my surprise, the guests were also. We've stayed here several times when passing through Redding. We've found this Fairfield Inn to have clean accommodations, very friendly and professional staff, and enjoy a quiet and comfortable nights rest. Will continue to use this as our "stay place" on route to the north as long as good management continues! Nice breakfast! We enjoyed the fitness room after a long 12 hour drive. I stayed at this hotel before covid. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel was okay well. Bed was okay. Linens were clean. Hotel room was okay. Nothing outstanding or bad about the room. The day we stayed they had a night reception and had light snack of chips, tamale, and salsa. It was okay. Nothing exceptional. Hotel offered an okay breakfast pre covid. Main breakfast area is decently sized. There is a pool closed seasonally and workout facility we did not use during our visit. Hotel is current. Overall staff and hotel are good. Priced okay. It was a spontaneous drive up to Lassen National Park. We found this location and booked it on our Marriott Bonvoy app. We stayed on June 15-16 for one night! I actually remember the check in process was okay. The two ladies that check me in that night didn't have a welcoming spirit. I asked them if silver elite members have any benefits, they didn't know, but they ask me if I wanted a cookie they had on the counter and I grab two. I was waiting still for an answer, but they didn't even get back to me. I requested dental kit and they didn't have it for me already when I checked in so I had to go downstairs and ask the front desk. The lady who helped me, the same lady who check me in, told me they had nothing except floss and toothpaste. Our room bathroom was cleaned and the room was cleaned too. As far as sleeping on the bed, for me it was too firm for me and I didn't really have a good rest. The only good thing is they offer to go breakfast. I only had pineapple, I wish they had more varieties of fruits. Also oats would be nice too. read more

You can normally get a moderately priced room here, and they always include a nice breakfast. This particular location is no exception. It was located out on the north end of Redding. The wife and I booked a spa room resort. which basically means a big tub that you can watch tv in. no jets or anything of that nature. The room was nice and bed was comfortable! They had a pretty good selection of tv channels as well! Continental breakfast is offered! it was decent. good selection of food! loved the mini waffle maker! mmmm the waffles were my favorite! Went to use the hot tub on Friday night and it was cold and by Sunday the problem still hadn't been fixed. This was very disappointing to us. Milk is clumpy even though not expired yet. No thought put into what they're feeding the guests for the price of the rooms. Front desk does not know customer service. An awful way to send off their guests. Stayed here a couple days as I had training to go to at Shasta college. Not far from the school at all and right off highway 5. Not really much close by but a very good deli across the parking lot and a chevron on the other side of the freeway. The parking lot is easy as it is not a huge hotel, easy to get close parking near the front. The hotel staff is very informative and friendly. I was informed about the complimentary breakfast, which I did not take advantage of, and happy hour during parts of the evening that I didn't go to as well. This is a pet friendly hotel and they have their own personal cat named Jack that lives in the lobby. The rooms are nice, plenty of room with a nice shower and comfortable bed. This is a clean hotel with modern furniture. Comes with a mini fridge and cable tv. Plenty of channels to watch including local. Was definitely nice to be able to watch my Warriors play. Don't know if I will ever be back in Redding, but I know where I'm staying if I do. read more
