The Sheraton Redding is a wonderful hotel in a great location. They are located near the Sacramento River by the Sundial Bridge and next to the Turtle Bay Exploration Park. The McConnell Arboretum and Garden is a quick walk over the Sundial Bridge. Tickets are available to the events at the McConnell Arboretum. During the winter, they do have holiday lights. During our summer visits, they had lantern of various shapes. We made reservations for a 2 queen room. They gave us what we reserved. It had a view of the Turtle Bay Exploration Park (not much to see from our room). The queen beds were comfortable. The bathroom for our 2 queen room had a tub and shower. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were the Sheraton special. It was good enough for a one night stay. They do have a fitness room with cardio equipment and weights. It is sufficient for getting a workout in. This hotel does have a lounge for Platinum and above members. Non-alcoholic beverages like soda and water are complimentary. Alcohol is available for a fee. Evening appetizers were typical of Sheraton's. They only had a cheese plate. No dinner like at Marriott's. Breakfast offerings were a little better than the evening appetizers with scrambled eggs and bacon. The Sheraton was a good hotel that gave me a good night sleep. read more

The bad first, the prices for this Sheraton are way too high for what you get. Now, the good. The staff is wonderful and very nice. Our room was ready on time and we liked the room. It was not large and should have been for the price. But it was super clean and very comfortable. Redding does not have a lot of choices and I think the Sheraton knows this and if you don't want to be in a 2 star hotel, you have little choice. The pool was great and it was a hot day so we used it. They have a 24 hour business center which is fine and I needed it. The eatery is just fine, not great. But you will find something you want. This silliness about no one use straws drives me nuts. I actually use a straw so get me one. They have valet or self parking for a fee. They have one nice bar and that is all one needs. I would not stay here for days, but for a couple of days it was fine, just too much money. The outside is super pretty and the lobby is great. I think this place is new and that is great. read more

A pleasent overnight stay in a surprising location. The hotel is newish and has a buttress to a green space by the river. The sundial bridge, Redding bike path and Turtlebay Park all offer convenient morning exercise spots. Mosaic Restaurant is contiguous to the hotel and is a great place to get a drink or a late evening meal. The hotel Is not a destination for vacation travelers, but a great respite from a long day of driving down I-5. read more

This place used to be the newest & nicest hotel in Redding. It still has a great location but that alone is not enough to pay $300-$400 a night plus $14 for parking. It is now 8 & 1/2 years old and the hotel needs maintenance on the outside of the building facing the pool area, new carpets on the hallway stairs and new (or better) beds. When that happens, we will consider going back. read more

I booked a room That was supposed to have a patio walk-in shower and I received none of that. The bar that is connected to this is way too expensive and they water down their drinks. Very disappointed. I spent way too much money for what this place is worth it's trash. I don't think they even clean the rooms properly because I came and I had a half roll toilet paper and two tissues out of the box and they were both empty. Also, the mini fridge is like half the size of a regular mini fridge, but we paid extra to have it. I recommend you don't waste your money because it's expensive and it's trash again like I said. There wasn't even bags in our trashcan. I would not recommend staying here. Also, the fan in the bathroom didn't work either. I spent $600 on trash don't make the same mistake. If it was the option to rate this place zero I would. read more

They charge hotel guests for parking but everybody else visiting Sundial bridge parks there, for free! Not enough luggage carts. Not enough lounge chairs, chairs at pool. Pool closes at 9:00pm. Pricey! Something I don't understand... A room here, with a king sized bed, has a sofa, a chair and table. A room with 2 queen-sized beds only has a large chair and one small table. This hotel has potential but still has a few kinks to work out. On the plus side, the hotel is new and the staff were friendly. Those were the pros. The rest of our stay was comedy of errors: After trying unsuccessfully to get a table at their restaurant, Mosaic, we ordered room service instead and were given a 30-40 min delivery estimate. The food showed up after 1-1/2 hours. The pizzas were lukewarm and the fries were mushy. Nice. After settling in to our room, we noticed that there was dried vomit splattered on the wall next to the bed. The carpet was damp and had probably been cleaned recently. We called the front desk and asked for another room. There were no king rooms left so they comped us a bottle of wine and free breakfast. Bonus star for that, but we still had to sleep in a room with dried vomit on the wall. Upon checking out, we noticed that the hotel added a $130 pet fee for our two dogs, nearly doubling the cost of our one-night stay. This was not noted anywhere we could find on the website, not noted when we booked the room, nor noted on our reservation confirmation email. We asked the manager about this charge and were told "all Marriott resorts have a minimum $60 cleaning fee for pets" as if we should have this committed to memory. And pretty ironic considering the state of our room! Added fees should be clearly disclosed on the hotel's website and booking pages, and not buried in a pet agreement that you are forced to sign when checking in. Otherwise this is a deceptive business practice and others should be warned. read more

When your big boss comes to visit from LA, you gotta find the best fanciest hotel for him to stay. Places I stay, like the Holiday Inn Express aren't gonna cut it, compared to places he's used to staying. This Sheraton Redding Hotel at the Sundial Bridge is the best hotel in the area. Reservations went fine and check in was easy. The room was clean and nice ... I checked before he got here! ... yeah, no surprises to make me look bad! There's a fancy restaurant attached to the hotel that we might try. When he arrived, he liked the room (whew) .... so all is well. Location, location, location. The Sheraton Redding Hotel at the Sundial Bridge has it. Last week, she saw an advertisement for the Garden of Lights at Turtle Bay. We'd been to the Sundial Bridge and the Gardens before, but never the Exploration Park itself. So, I did a little research. I found that it was a good deal for us to purchase a membership. That would allow us to visit the park over two days and get a discount for the Garden of Lights Show. We had a free night certificate worth up to 50,000 points through our Marriott Bonvoy account so that paid for a night's stay at the Sheraton. The parking lots of the two properties are adjacent to each other so we could just park at the hotel and walk to the park. Check-in was a breeze. We're Elite Members so that got us upgraded to the third floor which is also where the Sheraton Club is located. It's a nice place to sit and lounge besides in your room or down in the lobby. During the morning, breakfast is served and there's a beer and wine reception in the evening from 5pm to 7pm. We made it in time, around 6:40pm to grab a beer, bottle of water and a personal charcuterie that had Salami, Cheese and Grapes. All of the other guests had left already so we had a few minutes to chat with the hostess. I failed to get her name, but she said that she usually worked the front desk while studying to be a Social Therapist. We always enjoy meeting people and enjoying some social interaction. She was a good listener and will most likely be successful in her chosen profession. During breakfast, Renee was running around, trying to make sure that everything was kept full and the tables and everything else wiped down. Overall impression: nice property in excellent location for Redding but needs better management and attention to repairs! This is a large hotel in a lovely setting next to a fantastic park, stocked lake, conservatory, arboretum, and many nature trails. It is just off the freeway and by the civic center, but mostly quiet. The rooms have nice features such as reading lamps built into the headboards and lights in the closets. The lobby is spacious. There is a crew working seemingly 'round the clock to keep the property clean. That said, our sink & tub were backed up. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful--although it feels a bit forced. My guess is that the reception area is under-staffed and over worked. One of two elevators for the large property was out when we arrived. We were given a room that was at the very farthest end of the building even though we had a mound of luggage. The front desk person told us to park by the back stairs and use them and she'd help when she could. When we (and everyone else) checked out both elevators were out of service. The staff couldn't let anyone use service elevators but were scheduling themselves to carry luggage, help handicap guests, etc. This left a long line of frustrated guests at the front desk wanting to check out. The Club Level: fine if free. Don't pay to use it! Evening cocktails (beer & wine) & cheese so old it had the dry crusty edges + saltines. Breakfast: institutional eggs, pork sausage, fruit, toast (broken toaster), mushy potatoes, and one-bite muffins, plus juice. read more

Probably the nicest hotel in Redding. It's perfectly situated on the grounds of the Turtle Bay Exploration Park and is a 2-minute walk from the famous Sundial Bridge. The rooms are modern, well-appointed and comfortable. The AC gets COLD and we love that it's pet friendly. They have a signature scent pumped into the place which I wish you could bottle and take home. The on-site restaurant is great, the pool is refreshing and never really crowded and there are several fire pits and common areas to hang out at. If you're road tripping from OR to CA - make this a stop on your way! read more

The facility looks really nice and clean. We arrived to no parking available due to the festival of lights going on but the hotel let us park by the front overnight. The room was clean and pretty decent, however there was an issue with the shower leaking water which flooded the entire bathroom and ran out to the carpet area in the room. We called the front desk and the security guy brought up about 12 large towels to mop up the water. It was a mess to say the least. The hotel restaurant was ok, but let me tell you, it was expensive! A large pizza was about $25-$30. I seen a couple pizzas near by and they didn't look cooked all that well. Some of the food I saw looked good but just seemed overpriced. I guess they are going for an upscale vibe which I get but ouch! Had a couple of beers that tasted good, local brewery. I gotta be honest I wouldn't suggest the restaurant. read more

This is a beautiful property with surprisingly easy access from highway 5 and lots of parking. the rooms are well appointed & have a large walk in shower. self park is $10, and valet is available, but not needed. the "lounge is a nice space with a machine for espresso type drinks, as well as good old american brewed coffee. Decently newer property, logistical stop on a long road trip, friendly staff. Very few, if any guests obey the state mask mandate here. Parking lot is mostly filled with large pick up trucks... you get the picture. One of our rooms had a huge cobweb hanging from the curtains. Booked three of the exact same room types but two had a table and sitting chair and one room didn't. One room was missing both reading lights on the headboard. I used to like this hotel, but now they are nickel-and-diming you on everything. Room fee, room tax, parking fee, charging fee, wifi fee, and no breakfast unless you buy the expensive rooms. I spend $800 for 2 days and they wanted to charge additional $50 for that shitty breakfast. Plus the rooms have this disturbing wind whistling which comes from under the door which is annoying and you have to put a towel on the floor to block the draft to stop the noise. I've stayed at the hotel many times, it's fine - super basic - the best in town - which doesn't say much as Redding is full of hicks so you if you're from a city don't expect much. As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold and frequent traveler (6 months in various hotels in 2024) the front of house staff are some of the rudest hotel staff I've come across. It feels like an ugly Mean Girls crew. They literally love to make guests lives hard. I have encountered this multiple times. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was there for a work conference, but was still able to enjoy all of the facilities. We started Monday night in one of the smaller rooms at the hotel, and it was a lovely conference room with a view of turtle Bay and comfortable chairs. Which is important when you are in a meeting! Then we went for dinner at Mosaic the restaurant attached to the hotel. They had good beer on tap and a nice wine list. The arugula salad was fantastic. The next morning I was able to visit the breakfast on the third floor. It was much more than a continental breakfast with delicious chocolate croissants, really good coffee, eggs, sausage, and a beautiful display of fresh fruit. I was happy to have this breakfast three mornings in a row! What a luxury! I also visited the branch house, which is the restaurant next to turtle Bay and the sundial Bridge. This place has great salads and wraps and good beer on tap as well. this is a great location to stay in Redding as it is close to downtown , the river, and beautiful scenery. When I am in Redding next time, I will definitely stay here! The service was great. I had DoorDash deliver some items I had forgotten, and the front desk staff were more than happy to assist. In fact, everyone that I ran into who worked there were great! Folks assisting with the conference rooms, hotel staff cleaning our rooms, to the people putting on the breakfast everyone was friendly, helpful, and fun. read more

The staff here is amazing. Specially, Renee in the Club Lounge, Sabrina at the front desk, and Christine in the Club Lounge. These ladies go above and beyond to help their customers and make us feel welcomed. Thank you all for making our stay a comfortable one. The guest services team is always good too. The only thing that could be improved by Sheraton is the LONG wait time to speak with the staff when you call from either from outside or from the your room. This is because they are short staffed and management needs to work on this. The staff they do have is phenomenal. Just hire more people so you don't burn out the good ones you have. read more
