We had two stays here during a recent road trip. Once on the way north, and the other while going home southbound. This hotel is north of the city away from shopping and restaurants in the main part of Redding. The parking lot is shared with the Fairfield By Marriott. After reading reviews of both properties, my wife choose the Home 2 Suites. Check in was a little slow both times as there is only one employee working the front. But, they did their job as best they could. No upgrades to a larger room as I don't have status. We were given a room with 2 queens, exactly as we reserved. The room had a nice sofa, seating area and a large screen tv. Bathroom was large size and had soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion from Zero. They have a gym on the first floor with stationary bikes and treadmill for cardio. Dumbbells and a weight machine are available if you need to lift weights. A laundry room is part of the gym. The gym was adequate, though a little strange to have people in there waiting for the washing machine or dryer. It's a good hotel to stop at after a long drive north. They gave me everything I needed for a good nights sleep. read more

They were fully booked, so maybe the market supports that, but with a premier stay like Hope Inn available at half the price, it's hard to justify. Great secluded location right off the freeway. Room was fairly clean 8/10. Bed and pillows were comfortable and front staff that checked me in was kind. Breakfast was smaller than expected with limited options compared to other Hilton locations. There were no bacon, sausage, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs - the usual protein meats, which was disappointing. Parking is limited in the front, but there is more parking towards the back of the building. Parking and breakfast are covered with the cost of the room which is a huge plus. Bottle waters were not offered to me upon check in, nor at in room like most Hilton hotels even though I'm a Hilton member, so you'll have to ask them directly to get it complimentary as long as you're silver, gold or diamond status. I will stay here again compared to the Hilton garden a few miles south of them, even though that location is closer to restaurants, stores, gas station and Win River casino, just because of the nicer room, kitchen, and complimentary breakfast. read more

My husband and I stayed one night at Home2 Suites by Hilton and had a very pleasant experience. The reception staff was excellent--friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Our room was clean, well-appointed, and the bed was very comfortable, allowing us to get a great night's sleep. When we realized we needed a notepad and paper, we stopped by the front desk. The staff responded immediately and promptly provided what we needed, which we really appreciated. The complimentary hot breakfast buffet offered a nice variety of choices, making it a great way to start the day. As someone said elsewhere, the automatic bathroom light is a bit annoying particularly at night so yes if they fixed this, this would be fantastic. Overall, we had an excellent stay and would gladly stay here again. read more

To give you a little background, my home completely flooded and my 3 girls and I had to get an extended stay at a local hotel. after reveiw my options I chose Home2suits. I am a Hilton honors member so I knew I would have a good experience since I have always had them in other Hilton's in the past. I arrived to check in around 10pm and the front desk clerk was not present. I waited anther 5 minutes til someone noticed I was there and she was behind the desk in what looked like an office. She said she would be with me as soon as she finished up her closing duties and I waited another 5-10 minutes to be helped. I gave her my name for my reservation and she then stated I didn't have a reservation. I had the confirmation in a text. she was not friendly or polite, nor did she smile she said I "don't know what to tell you but you dont have a reservation" I then told her that it was my insurance that had made the reservation and I have the confirmation text and email. She then said well your name isn't in here. At this moment I knew there was clearly something wrong with this woman....and she did not want to help me. She didn't ask me for the confirmation number or say "let's get this figured out" she wanted to turn me away. She finally asked me if there could be another name that my reservation could be under and it happened to be my maiden name. I gave my ID she looked at it and said that she cannot allow me to check in because my ID did not match the name that it was registered under. I told her that I did not have an ID with my maiden name and she replied with well, you're not gonna be able to check in tonight unless I have an ID that matches the reservation name. she was very abrasive and dismissive and ready to turn me away. She did not have the usual custome service attitude ...saying "lets help you figure this out" She said I was going to have to take care of it tomorrow. I told her I had no where to go my home was deemed unlivable at the moment and I called the insurance company for them to clear it up for her she was also aggressive to the women from the insurance company telling her she could not check me in unless she made another reservation and made it very difficult for the woman even tho she confirmed my identity and the authorization. luckily I had a wonderful customer service from my insurance company and they went above and beyond to try and make sure that I was able to have a place to stay. The reissued the reservation in my name and as it was getting all cleared up the clerk reminded me that "she was not rude to me and she was helping me" which was laughable she was actually trying to turn me away. I have never in my life had an interaction at a hotel that prides themselves in excellence treat me so awful in a time where I felt the most vulnerable. Then I was told the clerk was going around asking staff if my girls ages 17,14,10 were left unattended "they went to the desk to get the WiFi password" so I cannot renew my reservation after my 8 day stay...this is diabolical if you ask me. And not once did they say while checking in that kids could not walk to the lobby without my presence. They are well behaved teenage girls ...come on! read more

My daughter is visiting for Easter weekend with her husband and their 3 children under 8. They bought the room on Priceline, $200/night with 2 Queen beds and a 2 room suite with a pull out couch bed - full bed size. On Priceline, she added 2 adults & 3 kid. she goes to check in at 10 PM at night and the lady proceeds to tell her that they only allow four people in the room and they would have to pay for another Suite. Absolutely crazy! She had to bring me one of the kids to stay the night. Really bad business practices! They partner with Priceline so they need to honor what did! Not to mention there's plenty of room for two and three small children in that room. I don't believe that is against any fire code. Sounds like to me. read more

We took a roadtrip and stumbled upon this fantastic property in Redding. It is truly one of the nicest and cleanest Hiltons we have stayed at and we're Honors members so we've stayed at a lot! Tatiana at the front desk was awesome! She was friendly and informative, helpful and couldn't have been kinder. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and cozy. We both slept so good and were surprised by the yummy breakfast the next morning. Instead of the usual sugar laden and preheated foods, they had a nice selection of egg/spinach dish, fresh fruit, and crispy bacon. The coffee and pastry/bagel selections were equally as good. Overall if you're in this area, we highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again! Thank you!! read more

Consider this: all of the positive reviews I agree with, BUT the lighting automation is a major issue. watching tv boom, lights off, tv off. Reserved a short stay at the Home2 Suites by Hilton on Caterpillar Road in Redding, California at the last minute for an unexpected trip over Memorial Day weekend. (I enjoyed listening to my map navigation voice pronounce "caterpillar.") Although the hotel is relatively new, word must have gotten around because it was nearly fully booked during my visit. Not sure if my experience was a one-off because of the holiday, but the hotel seems especially popular with families with young children. (Living in the Bay Area, I'm not used to seeing that many children at one place at one time.) The hotel is also pet friendly (for an extra fee) - although I saw far fewer critters than kids. Despite the crowd, the room was quite quiet. The hotel includes a surprisingly nice gym with functional equipment, which, if you travel quite a bit, you know is not to be taken for granted, and a small outdoor pool. Parking is free and plentiful in the large lot. Another plus is that the facility is located minutes away from I-5. All of the staff that I interacted with during my stay were friendly and responsive and gracious, despite the busyness of the weekend. The free breakfast is what you'd expect at an extended-stay hotel; I never tire of the make-your-own waffle. Because of the number of people descending for the meal at the same time, the breakfast area became quite chaotic with overflowing waste bins, dirty tables, empty juice dispensers and depleted dishes. At one point, hotel staff resorted to leaving hastily ripped-open bags of plasticware and napkins around the service area to make up for empty bins. The few staff on hand were clearly overwhelmed by the amount of work necessary and were doing their best to keep up. I left Home2 Suites by Hilton in Redding, California a satisfied customer. If you play the Hilton points game, know that you'll earn at least 10 Hilton Honors base points for every dollar you spend at most Hilton brands, but only five base points per dollar spent at Home2 Suites and Tru brands. read more

Serious unsafe and unsanitary issues led to a horrible and miserable experience. First of all, we've stayed at well over 10 hotels/Airbnb this year alone and all of them are pet friendly, there's no allergies that we know of, all we know is our 6yo can't physically be in the same room with cats. I spoke with the General Manager: Eric Barber, and asked for a full refund (2 nights). He offered to refund one night, I disagreed. He was very arrogant, rude, condescending, and demeanor, said "ok, you're going from 1 free night to zero free night. Have a nice day!". How I felt was, I'm not here to ask for a free night, I'd rather pay full price and not have my son had to go through what he did, so in my eye, we had already paid!! At the least, I will be reporting this to OSHA. We got to our hotel at like 10pm, checked in and got the kids (6 and 1.5yo) back to bed. Out of no where, I heard a cat . My son is allergic to cats so immediately woke up my husband to go find this cat. Found it right under the bed, called the front desk, someone came up, they didn't believe us and asked to turn on the lights so he could see the cat. Looked over and my son looked like this, he was sneezing, nose and eyes were red and runny, immediately got out of the room, sent my husband to get some meds for him. We changed room, long story short, my son didn't want to get in the new room and then couldn't fall asleep kept thinking there's another cat in the room, etc.. At like 1am when we finally got settled in, we found out the fridge was not working. We got downgraded in our room: from a suite to a room (understandable, maybe no more room) and the fridge didn't work caused the baby food and milk to spoil and what happened to my son. So yes, we had already paid a very high price for our stay. read more

I recently had a great experience staying at The Move 2 Suites by Hilton in Redding. My wife and I were booked to stay at another hotel. When we got there, it was clearly not well cared for, and we needed another place to stay. With it being Father's Day weekend, it was hard to find a vacancy nearby, but we were very fortunate to find a room at the Move 2 Suites. Ashley who was working the front desk, was very professional, helpful, and friendly. She helped us get our room, and although the other nights we needed were sold out, she encouraged us to keep checking because cancellations are quite common. Ashley was right and she helped us get the room we needed. The rooms at Move 2 Suites are new, modern and very well designed. Going forward, we will book all of our rooms at the Move 2 Suites by Hilton when traveling. Thank you Ashley for your caring and outstanding customer service. read more

We were greeted upon checking in by Eric. He was very helpful and cordial. The rooms are good size with comfortable beds. Room is clean including bathroom. Only downside are their pillows. My head sinks in even if you stack them. Otherwise we had a great stay and Eric is a big plus in this hotel. We will stay again if we are in Redding area. I travel a good amount of the year and typically I try to stay at Home2 when I can because of their fitness rooms, in room kitchenette, and breakfast offerings. Overall this location meets my expectations and the staff I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Now for the negatives, and why I couldn't give this location more than 3 stars. I like a cool/cold room for sleeping and usually drop the room temp to 65 degrees. That wasn't possible due to the thermostat being setup to only go down to 68 degrees. Those couple degrees do make a difference for me. The bigger issue I had was with the room lights and outlets. They are set on a motion sensor timer and will shut off after 5 minutes if no movement is registered. I get trying to conserve energy but I had to work in my room one day of my stay and sitting at the desk working on my computer having to swing my arm around every time the lights shut off was rather annoying and unproductive. I do not think I will be booking a stay at this hotel next time I am in the area. read more

I was hiking mount shasta and had to make a quick decision to stay somewhere for the night. I ended up driving to Redding and staying here. Had no expectations and was pleasantly surprised with how cute the room was.i had my own kitchenette and staff was so sweet during my check in/check out. I'd definitely stay here again. Stayed twice in 1 month. 1st time room was dirty hair in bathroom sink , floor, toilet. Told front desk- was handed Lysol wipes and a towel. 2nd stay no hot water. Called manager heather who said they had hot water just took 10minutes. No compensation just sorry it was a cold night. There is a Sheraton in the same parking lot/area. Would recommend going somewhere else. The I-5 traffic can be heard from the rooms as well. read more

Second visit within the last couple months. My first stay I was really impressed by the level of service and cleanliness. When I checked in I noticed my door did not close and when I called down stairs to notify of the situation the gentleman at the desk apologized and said to come down. I came down within 2 mins and he already had a new room and key ready for me. This last visit I entered the room and it smelled like old food, come to find it was the trash bin underneath the sink. I also found It odd that they would re-use the kitchen sponge from the previous guests. There was also a dead fly in the bathroom mirror that I found kinda funny. These were however minor issues in an otherwise ok stay. The room has a good size fridge and freezer, microwave with utensils, bowls, cups etc. mini coffee maker stocked with tea and coffee with cream and sugar. The most comfortable bed ever with a pull-out couch that includes a curtain for some privacy between the bed and couch. Plenty of desk space for work! Stocked with plenty of towels and I love the provided shampoo and conditioner! Great room for 3-4 people. Breakfast was included from 6-9 am M-F. Basic breakfast items such as sausage, eggs, oatmeal, muffins, and a waffle bar. Property is located right off the freeway and is a few driving mins from food and shopping. I would recommend this hotel 1000 times if I could! As someone who travels for a living, and stays at Hilton's frequently, this one is by far one of the best hotels that I've stayed at. To start off, the staff is wonderful! From the beginning of the check-in process, to the cleaning, staff and housekeeping staff, everybody is extremely accommodating and nice, and do their jobs very well. We requested some sheets an additional towels, and they showed up to our room in a matter of minutes, as opposed to other hotels were, it has taken hours to receive items we requested. I even ordered some food and did not place a room number on the order. Despite the fact that the food was just left at the front desk, the staff went out of their way to find my room, call me, and personally hand deliver the food to my room. This is just one of many examples in which the staff exhibited above and beyond customer service when they didn't have to. The hotel is quiet (which is a huge plus if you like sleeping in and don't want to hear your neighbors). The rooms are clean, very well-maintained and well-kept, the sheets are clean and soft, and everything smells great - lobby, elevator and room. Everything is truly top notch! The amenities are wonderful, and the fitness center offers more equipment than most other hotels that I've stayed at. This hotel is what all Hiltons should aspire to be like. Truly a great experience and hoping that I get the pleasure of coming and staying here again. read more

A Gem in Redding! Not only because it's Clean. We could not have asked for a better stay. It's a newer Hotel and very nicely decorated with lots of amenities. My husband said the Gym had everything he needed to workout and it was all very well taken care of. Our room was quite large and everything worked which is always a plus. We were only there one night going out of town but have already been back on our way home which wasn't part of our plan. I have found a new favorite hotel! We had the king 1 bedroom suite and it was fantastic!!! Felt like home. Complete with plates, glasses , flatware, chefs knife, cutting board, toaster, etc. the sitting room and bedroom each had their own A/C. Very quiet. Breakfast was delicious. Waffles, scrambled eggs, frittatas. The woman who worked breakfast kept the food replenished and warm. Very helpful and friendly. And the GM Eric was so friendly and helpful. He felt like a friend. This establishment allows pets and I had a lot of what seemed like dog hair all over my luggage. I got a few bug bites during my stay. The heater was broken in my room and one of the elevators was out of service too. Horrible. read more
