I would never stay here again.
    Nanette M.

Love the old building look. It's very country inside, but that's okay. There's a separate living space from the bedroom which is nice if 2 different people watch 2 different shows or one needs to work. It's average cleanliness. The pillows are foam squares that are very uncomfortable and actually hurt your ear. The bed is so hard and uncomfortable that neither one of us got a goods night sleep. We had a couple check in after us and leave before us that was staying above us and they were up ALL NIGHT walking from livingroom to bedroom to livingroom to bedroom to bathroom, having sex at 3:30am with the headboard banging the wall for an amazing amount of time, then back to livingroom then one in the shower while the other paced again. Pretty sure they are tweakers. We could hear them talking even :-/ We would never stay here again nor do we recommend it.

Broken with exposed wires. Front desk did not care or have a replacement.

I would not even ask my worst enemy to stay here. My family checked in, had to wait awhile because there was no one at the front desk. We made it to our room to find it dirty with broken items. There was a multi plug charging station which was busted with exposed wires. The mini fridge leaked water all over the carpet. The pull out sofa was very old and the mattress was deformed. The king bed was hard as a rock. Called the front desk, to fix the broken electrical items, they said they would fix them but never did. Place also reeked of sulfur because of the spring. Only pro's: Bathroom was nice Breakfast was surprisingly good.

What a nice welcome after staying at other hotels. Clean, professional, and comfortable. The cookies were a nice treat too. They do have a pool and a mineral spring you can get in. That one does smell like sulfur, but as others said it doesn't smell in the rooms. The lobby just makes you feel relaxed and at home when you walk in. *this is an historic hotel and they don't have an elevator, so if you can't do stairs make sure you are on the ground floor! Also the stairs to get up to the 2nd floor are outside (in the courtyard) so it might be harder tromping up them with luggage in the winter. I say that mostly for older adults, they might offer luggage assistants too- not sure. The hotel is next to a park with horseshoe pits and the teepee fountain ( on the left side ) it is a short walk and worth checking out. The suspension bridge is about .3mi away. No fitness room, you can use the one across the street for $5. Free breakfast in the morning. Large shower and bathroom. If I'm traveling through again, I'd stay here for sure. Oh, also rocking chairs outside the rooms upstairs.

Getting three stars only because when you pay $160 a night you expect the AC to be working. Otherwise a clean and nice hotel.

The bonus is the hot tub - I'm not sure it's spring fed but it is smoking waters and sulphur rich. On this particular night, the tub closed at 11, and I had the entire thing to myself on a beautifully cool Wyoming night. The tub is not natural, and it feels like most other non-publicly owned tubs in Hot Springs Park. It's run down but probably to code and safe enough. It's not luxury, but after a day in the car, I'll take it. It's a wonderful recovery. While here, I'll definitely hit the state-owned facility in the morning. If I required a nicer hotel, I'd go with the Best Western. Smaller tub, no pets, but very nice rooms in a historic building. As for dog walks - a few spins around the park, a walk in the sulphur terraces or along the river are a nice way to relax and stretch.

The women that own it are super nice and very accommodating. We asked for ice and she went to her own freezer to give us some. We then went to the store to buy some and had too much so we asked for a cooler to borrow but she didn't have one so she gave us one of her bowls to put it in. She was so cool. The place has been remodeled and the rooms are really clean. The bed was comfortable, the towels fresh, and the place is quiet (except for some screaming kids next to my buddies room) but I wasn't affected. We mentioned it to one of the other ladies and she was apologetic and told us next time she'd put us away from the families. They have a nice grassy area out front with a bbq you can use. Overall, a great experience and we'll definitely be back! Thanks for your hospitality!

These are hard working folks trying to make a living there. They've got a great little motel, and it is clean and exactly what a traveler needs. We've been on the road for 2000+ miles, and Thermopolis was just a stop on our way to the Tetons. This little town has been nothing but kind to us. I always rate a place by stating if I would come back. This motel? Absolutely.

I don't think I have ever been so shocked and disturbed by what I found at the Quality Inn hotel in Thermopolis, WY. For starters we were given a smoking room, My wife nor I are smokers so why the booking automatically defaulted to a smoking room is beyond me. When we got into the room it smelled like a wet ashtray and dingy. I had to pay a $15 charge to change to a none smoking room. At first look the carpets were visibly dirty. When I turned down one of the queen beds, is when I found multiple stains on the duvet. There was a large light yellow stain alone with multiple red stains all over the duvet. Also along the edge there was what looked like a dirt ring around a collar. I could understand a small stain that may have been over looked but this was beyond an oversight. There were stains on the mattress cover. The other queen bed had sheets that were in satisfactory condition. I opened the microwave to heat water and found food that was beyond rotten and more like petrified left by a prior guest. It definitely had been in there for a while. We are doing road trips throughout the US and have staying in quite a few hotels and Airbnbs along the way. Virtually all have been clean and in good condition. Some were worn showing their age and are ready for a renovation but were clean. But this is by far the worst I have ever seen. If you're visiting Thermopolis please do not stay here. This was our first time using Choice Hotels and a Quality Inn and will be our last time.

It is a relic of a past era, when by-ways and highways were the thing -- no fast moving interstates that took you to big towns and modern multiple-story hotels -- but instead on an adventure through small towns and interacting with the locals. Motels were the thing before hotels. There's something about driving up to the door of your room at a one-story building. The rooms are clean, big (much more than a modern room), but have been modernized with flat screen tvs, wireless, coffee makers. microwave, mini-fridge, and modern lighting. The beds are large and comfortable and the bathroom is big with old-style tile floors. The most interesting thing was the swamp-cooler air conditioner. I didn't know those were a thing in a motel or a hotel, but geez -- did it crank out the cold air. That might have been why I didn't hear any noise from the outside or the rooms next door, though. Rainbow is a easy walk to the state park and a slightly longer, but still do-able walk to the downtown. The manager welcomes all guests, walks them to their room, makes sure the key works, and that the room is ready. Oh, and if you don't know how to operate the a/c, will show you how easy it is and remind you to keep a window open to make the cooler work properly. Had it not been for the tv and coffee maker, I would have believed I'd entered a backward time warp. I'm glad I took a chance on this hotel.
