We are definitely Best Western customers & rightly so. We get excellent service & comfortable bed. Staying in Rapid City for our first time & for a week, there's alot of staff members that deserve to be recognized for their outstanding work & service to customers. Had the pleasure of speaking with Senenity over the phone the day of our arrival, very friendly and willing to help with directions, she was extremely helpful as we checked in, took extra time to explain the hotel and area. We were greeted with a smile & a hello on every time we passed thru the lobby that was genuine, Senenity is definitely the right person for your front lobby. We were also introduced to Barbie who also managed the front desk, she has such a bubbly happy attitude that just makes you want to smile. Brandie the assistant manager was extremely helpful when we had a late evening request, went up and above to bring new pillows to our room. Appreciated her making sure the next day shift got our request and followed through. Thats great customer service to insure satisfaction. Gloria the room attendant was more than happy to help me with additional towels and others on the 4th floor were all accommodating when we need additional items since we didn't need our room cleaned daily. Overall, the room was super clean, extremely spacious with comfortable bed and couch. Appreciate the extra coffee table and bed bench to store our items on, two large screen TV's, the towels are a lot to talk about, they are the best towels we've come across staying at hotels, wash cloths, hand towels and bath towels are very large in size and soft, very noticeable & appreciated. The hotel is located in a great area, felt safe, lots of lights in the parking lot, plenty of restaurants and gas stations, three highways going different places which made sight seeing easy to access. Enjoyed the delicious coffee that was available in the lobby all day and night with lots of other options, decaf, variety of tea, hot cocoa and all the creamers etc. One item we've never seen utilized at a hotel but it's a fantastic item are the carts like they provide at airports for luggage, we didn't need to use them but we saw families checking in/out and what an asset for them. Lobby provided a lot of sight seeing/what to do material and maps which was a great help, we didn't need to go anywhere else for information. The breakfast was a great addition and very convenient so we didn't have to go out, large variety of hot and cold items, the waffle mix had a delicious flavor, everything was well stocked and resupplied by Roseanna, her husband and daughter made everything perfect every morning. This is a really nice hotel. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The check in and check out process went really smoothly. The kiddos enjoyed the pool and we enjoyed the hot tub. The negatives are as noted: -Extremely SMALL pool towels -Beds very FIRM. Not to our liking but maybe ok for some. We did appreciate the extra fluffy pillows. -breakfast: hot foods lukewarm at best. Even first thing in the am. However the kids did enjoy the waffle station. I really liked the cinnamon scones on our departure date. I stayed at the Best Western Plus Rapid City Rushmore for two nights on a Thursday and Friday. Lots of pluses and minuses about this place. Let's start with the pluses. The location is great! It's really close to the airport and within walking distance to everything downtown. The staff is incredibly friendly! I was greeted every time I walked in and out, and if I needed anything, they were always ready and willing to help. I actually thought the bed was really comfortable. Now the minuses. The gym has some cardio equipment, but only a few free weights. The property itself is run down and old. It's in need of a facelift. There are no blackout curtains in the room. I had a corner room, which meant that I had two sides of sun shining in at sunrise. That's not normally a big issue but if you want to sleep in, it might not happen here. There's a train that runs right next to the hotel. It doesn't seem that there are any horn rules in Rapid City, so at least twice while I was sleeping. I got to hear the train horn. I guess a positive is that the train horn wasn't very loud because the air-conditioning unit in the room, drowned out the noise of the train horn. I've never heard a louder air conditioning unit in my whole life. There was no coffee in the room and there was no refrigerator in the room. There are some other minor things but all in all, because of all the things together, I probably wouldn't stay here again. In my opinion, this property is average at best. read more

Fiancée and I planned a trip to explore the Black Hills, and this Best Western comes highly rated. I see why: it's easy on/off the highway, centrally located, and they don't charge for parking as many do here. The morning breakfast was a really nice surprise! Fiancée is celiac, and the fact they have gluten free items is awesome! Coffee, juices, eggs, potatoes, Canadian bacon or ham (I don't eat either and can't tell the difference lol). The reason for the star deduction are the rooms. A few things: We booked a king room. Unfortunately when we arrived and entered, it reeked of smoke! Really badly, eye burning. Apparently there was a prior guest in there who wasn't supposed to be rented to? I believe the hotel is 100% smoke-free. The person at the desk that night did apologize and move us to another room. Unfortunately, it had 2 queen beds rather than 1 king bed. We're here as a couple for a Valentine's Day getaway, so that does disappoint as it isn't what we paid for. No discount on the room offered or anything for the trouble. Additionally, it doesn't look like they offer in-room safes. I've stayed at motel 6's and super 8's that offer those! Not a reassuring feeling, and now we'll be gone all day worrying about valuables left in the room. Or we'll bring them in the car and hope they aren't stolen out of there. Finally, the in-room refrigerator doesn't have a freezer section. Sucks when you bring ice packs because you plan on packing a lunch to save money in these expensive times. Can't freeze those and can't bring a lunch on our day to the badlands. The refrigerator isn't very cold either. Maybe 50-55 degrees F. Do NOT store food in there, it won't keep. So much for keeping any leftovers if we eat dinner out. A couple small nitpicks like a hair in the shower stall, hey it happens. We're here a couple of more days. Maybe it'll get better. The parking, quiet room, and the breakfast are all big pros. On the other hand, it has been disappointing in a few key areas. read more

Stayed here for 4 nights. Overall the stay was good only issue we encountered was housekeeping. Room was spacious and clean. Room had a microwave and mini fridge. Check in and out were quick and seamless and we were able to check in a little earlier so that was nice. Location is good, about 10 mins to downtown and there's a gas station across the street. Plenty of parking so we never had an issue finding a spot. We also used the indoor pool and hot tub. Breakfast staff were very attentive; cleaning tables and refilling the food. The food options were good and varied: waffle maker, yogurt, cereal, and continental breakfast (eggs, sausage/bacon, potato). Housekeeping: after a long day, we returned to our room to find that we didn't have any towels in the bathroom. Housekeeping had left a note that they ran out of towels which I felt like they could have brought more towels at a later time. Didn't replace the tissue box or toilet paper either so we didn't have those either. Had to go back downstairs to the front desk to ask for all of these items. The beds also weren't made so not sure if it was an off day for housekeeping. On the next day, the housekeeping took back one of the toilet paper rolls we had gotten from the front desk which I thought was odd. read more

We met my parents in rapid city for a week long vacation and we book our stay at the best western rapid city. This by far is the absolute nicest best western we have ever stayed at. The property was kept exceptionally clean and the rooms were spotless. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff made us feel right at home. Brandie and Ken are amazing and they treat everyone that stays at the hotel like family. I hope this hotel stays this way for our next visit and we look forward to stay here again. read more

All I can say is every BW+ should use this as a business model, from the time we checked in, Serenity was professional, courteous, and thoughtful about all the information she gave us about our stay. She even asked us about our pet. This hotel is modern, clean, spacious, quiet and the green area for pets has been kept up. Seamus, loved that. This hotel gets high ratings from a multitude of evaluative websites. In fact, it was listed as Rapid City's best hotel. Rapid City isn't much, but calling the Best Western its best hotel, is a travesty. Located on the edge of town, off the freeway, the setting couldn't be uglier. The rooms are bland, with nothing distinctive. You might as well be staying at a Y. The best thing about this hotel was the long haired guy at the front desk who was very helpful. The TV remote was limiting, and wouldn't allow us to utilize the Roku we travel with. While the hotel is new, cheap is cheap, and staring out the window at the commercial strip malls and electrical power installations, was the epitome of depressing. It was late, and restaurants were probably closed. We utilized the so called "room service" menu. It was delivery from some chain chicken/pizza joint called Boss's chicken/pizza and the food was disgusting. The chicken was greasy and upset our stomachs. The next day we fled the hotel and Rapid City, glad to leave it in our rear view mirror. read more

This hotel is one of several new ones being built off exit 61 of I 90 at the eastern end of Rapid City. The city seems to be expanding along the interstate. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, gas stations nearby. There is Rushmore mall and other shopping off I 90 just west of this exit. You can actually drive along the service road, Eglin street, rather than getting on I 90. The hotel is new. Rooms are spacious. Beds were comfortable. Bath has a large vanity. Housekeeping did a good job. Friendly staff. Free breakfast had the usual items. Well stocked. Plenty of seating. Coffee and fruit available all day. The hotel is in a good location for visiting Mount Rushmore, Custer State Pk, Badlands NP, and Deadwood. It is 10 minutes to the downtown area. There is an exercise room and indoor pool. One of the better hotels on my recent western trip to New Mexico. The relatively new facility was just off the freeway and easy to find. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast filled us up nicely before another day of driving. It was also easy to find our way downtown for dinner at a local brewpub. This hotel is probably the best hotel option in Rapid City for most business and personal travel. It's the "Plus" version of Best Western, and it's a newer hotel. The rooms are very nice. Everything is also clean. The main front desk attendant I interacted with was Angel, and she was extremely helpful throughout my stay. The hotel is pretty new and rooms have modern amenities - the lamp had USB port for charging. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was good. They got all the bases covered. We stayed 7 days which to our excitement meant two house-cleanings! Hotel was good about replenishing towels, etc if you ask the front desk. Pool is inviting, inside, warm and clean--we had it and the jacuzzi all to ourselves. Good supply of candy and drinks for urgency. Breakfasts was sausage or bacon, eggs, taters, and the usual. Plenty of food unless it's Saturday then you gotta be early. Comfy bed and accessible ice-maker. Gracious, helpful staff. We had our fuse blow in bathroom and it was fixed immediately. We had to ask for supplies every day except the one day they fully serviced the room; after the 4th night. They would not replace dirty towels, empty trash, replenish shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc, unless you went to the front desk and asked for it. One day I had to borrow their vacuum because the room needed vacuuming. Obviously this would not be an issue if you're staying only one night which I think is their primary clientele. read more

My mom and I stayed here this weekend since we were celebrating her birthday and having a girl's weekend. It is such a great, new hotel! The fitness center is really nice and has a variety of machines. The breakfast is top notch and has gluten free items, hot items, yogurt, waffle machine, hot oatmeal with all the toppings, fresh fruit all day in the lobby, and much more. My mom brought her dog, and the process with him was easy and stress free. The staff are very friendly, pet friendly as they commented on the dog and petted him, and made sure everything was clean and sanitized with this stupid Corona virus going around. Actually a nice facility but the people running the place are crooks. I booked several months in advance for a road trip for my wife and I and booked through Expedia which they said that they didn't like because they charge too much in commission. I paid for a suite and upon arrival they wouldn't let me have the suite and downgraded me to a standard King room. They wouldn't refund the difference in cost because the current price of a regular king room is more than I paid for the suite. I will never stay at another "Best Western " and I would caution you about staying at this hotel read more

No handicap rooms were available so I had to keep going downstairs to the public restroom this is the only place where our stay was inconvenient and I held back a star. They could put in handicap doors as well for the public doors as they were heavy and difficult to open by myself. Very comfortable beds. read more

This was a wonderful hotel! Of course it being newly built is a plus. The beds were comfy. The rooms were clean. There was a downside to our room location. We were right next to the housekeeping 'closet' so we were early in the morning for housekeeping. They showed up around 845, about 15 minutes before we were ready to leave for the day. We had the queen suite and it was huge! 2 Queen beds, a couch that was also a pull out bed, 2 TVs, a huge bathroom, etc. I wish the fridge had a small freezer in it, but we made due. Breakfast was nice. Waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and a variety of hot offerings each day. The people working the breakfast could have been a bit more attentive as each day someone had to ask for more of something when the worker was hanging out at the front desk chatting. The pool was nice and clean. The temp was a little chilly for me. The hot tub was clean as well but it was opposite of the pool. It was really warm and there was so much chlorine in it that it burned our eyes. We only went once in the entire week because of this. There were some downsides to this hotel, but all in all it was a really great stay and would stay again! read more

A thousand times yes! Brand new building, beautiful rooms, so many outlets for the kids tablets, and every lamp has 120V charging stations. Breakfast was the best of our cross country trip.
