I always stop here on my journey back home. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. The free breakfast is one of the best.

We've been stopping at the Best Western Plus in Santee, S. Carolina for many years...it's an older "motel" that has been kept clean, quiet, the best breakfast (hello Barbara) who keeps everything sparkling clean!!! And a good selection of restaurants nearby. I really enjoyed my stay here. This hotel is located right off of 95. Great place to stay when traveling to and from Florida like I did or just if you want a clean hotel for overnight. This hotel allows dogs. Checkin was easy. The staff was very nice. I had a king bed room which was spacious. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows and very comfortable mattress. There was a recliner also in my room. The room itself was very clean, neat and organized. In the bedroom was a large cabinet was a refrigerator and microwave built in. In the vanity area was a blow dryer, and coffee pot. In the closet was an iron and ironing board. In the bathroom, the shower had great water pressure and lots of hot water. This hotel has free WiFi and free parking. All the rooms are on the first floor. You can park right in front of your room which makes carrying luggage in and out very easy. In the morning stating at 6a they served a full breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh ham,pancakes, grits, biscuits, sausage gravy, cereal, oatmeal, juices, coffee. Bagels, toast, and muffins, and fresh fruit. Directly 20 feet from my hotel room is a quaint steakhouse called Captain's Quarter's Seafood and Steak, which was good . There are also many other restaurants only 2 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again. It's the perfect little gem. read more

Booked non smoking. They gave us smoking (the room reeked). We asked front desk. They said they were sold out of non smoking... so we were stuck. We had our toddler with us. These people just don't care. It seems to be all about the $ with them. A lot of fake smiles. read more

Decided to stay in Santee, SC for the night on our way home from Virginia to Florida. The price was very reasonable even with our dog. Nice and clean and had parking for our SUV and trailer, as well for others. The staff was very friendly. We were very pleased and had a nice quiet sleep. read more

stayed there twice before and it was okay. clean but old and sparsely furnished. Our recent stay was poor, considering what we paid for our room ($208 for one night). my wife and I had one bath towel, one hand towel and one wash cloth. very disappointing. the clerk that was on duty when we left at 6 am was uncaring with a definitive eye roll. Plus besides all that the coffee from the machine was horrible, I guess that's why only a cup was dispensed. I guess we'll be looking for a new hotel for our first stop on way home to New York from SWFL. read more

I travel a lot back & forth from Miami to NJ, & needed a hotel to stay at that's pet friendly. My client recommended this hotel, so I thought it can't be that bad.. well it was! Access to rooms are on the outside. Just 1 floor motel. They put all the customers staying with dogs in the same area. Well I walk into the room & it smells like dog.. now I have stayed at alot of pet friendly hotels & they seem to get it right but not this one! Dirty too with dog hair on the chair, REALLY old furniture, needs an update bad!!!! Light bulbs were out! That should be a simple fix! & they couldn't even keep up with that! Paint was peeling, sink was clogged.. the only positive I have to say about this motel is the breakfast, good choices. But I will NEVER stay there again! Too many other choices for the same price. read more

Only reason for 3 stars is the toilet is so low I thought I was in a kindergarten bathroom. With 2 hip replacements and bad knees My husband actually said he might have to help my off the bowl! We welcome the opportunity to stay here when passing through on our way from South Florida to the Northeast, which is about once per year, but we still enjoy the stopover. The hotel is quite cozy, clean and well maintained. It's been upgraded, it seems, since our last visit, and all is very pretty. We called from the road, and the desk clerk was very friendly and got us taken care of, and also signed me up for the rewards program at the same time. Nice upselling! We spent one night at the Best Western Plus in Santee. Overall, it was a good experience. The room was spacious and appeared clean. The beds were comfortable. The room had a mini fridge. The price was affordable. We appreciated being able to drive right up to our room to avoid elevators and people during the COVID-19 pandemic. The basic breakfast to go bags upon departure we're appreciated. The staff were very nice and attentive. One small issue with the room was that the sink faucet leaked a bit. We gave it a 3 because we were disturbed to find that the night front desk person with whom we checked in was not wearing a mask. Moreover, the staff person in the morning had her mask under her nose. Despite the plexi glass on the desk, we left feeling that our health (let alone theirs) was unnecessary put in jeopardy by going there. read more

Very clean, quiet, great for us Looking for a halfway stop on the way south, I chose this BW Plus after reading reviews. Super glad we has a reservation as apparently the golfers are in town and there was no vacancy. The hotel is just a couple blocks off 95 but next to a lovely golf course and was very quiet. It is an older one story hotel, and you can park right at your door. The entrance is exceptionally welcoming, with pretty lights adorning it, and comfy chairs with beachy themed pillows outside. The office/dining room opens into a heated outdoor pool, which had very clean, warm water, confirmed by meju touching it. Our room had older decor with high bed, but very, very clean and comfortable. Super good bright lighting in the room with multiple lamps. The bathroom was very clean, and the towels were quality and fluffy. See pics. I saw the housekeeping carts when we checked out, with multiple spray bottles of Tilex, and our tub was spotless. Breakfast was fairly usual for a BW, although I was disappointed they had run out of bacon. Despite age, for cleanliness, quiet and comfort, I give this Santee BW Plus an A+. read more

Very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Staff members--from check-in to breakfast--were helpful and very pleasant. Rooms have outside doors which made bringing in luggage very convenient and added to the sense of privacy. Our room had all the amenities we needed. It was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast had a wide variety of choices. No exercise room, but walking to a nearby deli helped. (The restaurant next door was closed on Sunday, the day we were there unfortunately.) This hotel is definitely clean and has a great outdoor pool. Staff is friendly and patient which is awesome when you are traveling long distance and may be tired and grumpy. I used my Hotels.com rewards for a free night after reading all the great reviews on this place. Checked in at 11-pm. Super-friendly woman working at the desk, had a few laughs with her, and in no time at all I was heading to my room. Room was SUPER CLEAN. I mean CLEAN. Large, comfortable and a jet-bath tub to boot. This room was so large and comfortable. Bathroom a bit small compared to how large this room was. Great lighting, large flat screen TV, clean padded carpet, a perfectly made bed, plenty of towels, and 100% dust free. WOW. I'm not big on breakfast, but had some time to kill and went for it. Again, WOW. Made my own hot waffles with syrup. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, hot coffee, juices, muffins, and so SO much more. All delicious too. We will for sure stay here anytime we're in the area again. Thanks for such a nice overnight stay to EVERYONE working there. It was a pleasure. read more

This place dates back to the time when you can park your car right at the room's door. The decor is modern and clean. It has a pool and a great restaurant onsite. The staff is always friendly and remembers us from our previous stops. It's one of my most favorite Inns to stop at. read more

So, this is definitely a budget motel that I don't think should cost more than $90/night. Located right off 95, it's quite convenient to the road warriors and it's close to several fast food eateries as well as having a restaurant on premises. The lobby is updated and well maintained but the employees looked absolutely miserable. The employee that checked us in never even smiled, but maybe my humor after 12 hours of driving just wasn't that funny. The rooms are tidy, we got two queen size beds, which were comfortable after a horrific day of traveling. The pillows were small and square which I've never encountered before and made it hard to prop one pillow on top another. The bathroom was clean which I appreciated because the other BW we were in had scary icky bathrooms. I was able to take a looooooong hot shower which felt like heaven. The a/c however, that was not heaven. I felt that it didn't cool the room down as much as it should but---summer in SC isn't known for its pleasurable temperatures so maybe the outside heat had something to do with it. Breakfast was fine, a mixture of eggs, sausage, diy waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, etc. Overall, we'd likely stay here again. read more

My husband and I came here last night (on a Sunday night) we used the Expedia app to look for hotel prices and they had this hotel listed at $111 a night but when we came to the front counter and asked for a room they gave us a king suite for $85! Whoop whoop. Rooms were very clean. AC worked great! Had it set to 64 and it stayed cold all night. The showers and bathroom were clean as well. The bed was really great, not too firm not too soft. I didn't have a chance to check out the breakfast in the morning. All rooms are on ground level so no stairs to worry about. You park right in front of your room. I liked that a lot about this place. There's also a pool that looked really nice. A few patrons were enjoying the pool in the wonderful weather. The rooms could use some new carpet. The carpet was very old and dated. If we stop by Santee again, we will be coming here for sure. read more

It's a safe bet that this Best Western started life as a motel. It's a long one-story building where you pull into a parking spot directly outside your room. The room is decent-sized though only the shower and toilet are separate in a closet sized space and the sink and very long counter are an annex of the bedroom. Obviously recently remodeled with new carpet and granite for that bathroom counter. Having recently remodeled an older home ourselves, I'd like to advise that it's worth the extra dollars and tedious labor to change over the nasty old switch plates and plugs. It can take away the from the re-do when you skip this important detail. The shower was intense with nice hot water though there was only a cloth shower curtain, no plastic liner. But it was certainly delightful after a long day of driving! I love the large fridge and microwave, both hidden in the dresser. We usually bring a big cooler and everything fit! The WiFi was good and toiletries were fine. There are several restaurants in the area to chose from for dinner. The one next to the "hotel" has good reviews though we didn't dine there. Breakfast was included in our rate and was the typical assortment of items set up in the lobby/ dining area. The staff were competent but without any noticeable southern charm or friendliness. (Not just me! I checked in with several other customers). It wasn't a problem. This part of Santee seems to be depressed-the vestiges of the Santee Factory Outlets are not far... Shells of former stores lay crumbling and wasted. The hotel is located practically off the exit ramp from I-95 which makes it a great stop on our return trip home from Florida. It's absolutely worth the stay. read more

This was the worst stop we ever made. DO NOT STOP HERE! We arrived after driving 12 hours totally exhausted. We were so desperate , we couldn't argue the preposterous $200 charge for the room. My friend wanted to jump in to the shower after all that driving but pointed out the disgusting shower and tub. He backed off. I went to the bathroom and when i got off the toilet it moved forward. That was scary. Then we went to dinner at the restaurant behind the hotel and we walked past doors opened, men hanging out of their doors drinking beer and being rowdy. The next day we went for complimentary breakfast and saw in the daylight the scuzzy walkway and beer cans left along the path. The only one good I can say is that the bed was so comfortable but now I'm thinking we were so exhausted from that long trip that if you gave us a beach mat to sleep on it would have been comfortable! And even better ... when we got to Florida friends of ours told us they stopped there on the way down, too, and said it was AWFUL ! One Star is too much !!! read more

We got here yesterday(5-25-19) for our granddaughter's graduation. It was a very nice and clean room. The air conditioner worked great, which I need because of breathing issues. We really couldn't have asked for a cleaner room. That means a lot that the room was so clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We just ate breakfast in the dining room and it was excellent, especially the biscuits and gravy. It was clean and they had a big variety to pick from. The attendant on duty in the dining room was on top of everything, keeping everything restocked and cleaning up any spills or anything. The staff was friendly also. I highly recommend staying here to anyone traveling on 95. read more

First off, this an excellent location for a hotel. It's right off RT.95. There's several restaurants, gas stations, and convenience stores nearby. With that said, I'm a little disappointed with this place. We stayed here a few years ago and it was awesome. Very clean, nice staff & very comfortable. This time not so much. To the untrained eye at first glance the room looks very clean. However, upon my inspection (yes, I check every hotel for bed bugs before I bring any luggage into the room) I found extremely dusty baseboards, stains on the bed skirt, and when I moved the bed from the wall (part of my thorough inspection...lol) I found an egregious amount of dirt/dust, debris, cobwebs, and a beetle (at least I hope it was a beetle....eww). My findings led me to believe housekeeping doesn't really do a thorough job at cleaning these rooms. Which made me "feel" like the room was gross. The room also had a bit of a stale odor to it and the carpet was in need of a good wash. The room decor is a bit dated, but not too bad. The bathroom was small, and the tub was very slippery. The Tv kept shutting on and off (weird.) They offer free wifi, breakfast buffet(included with room) fitness center, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, iron, & ironing board in every room. Which is great. We skipped the buffet because we felt if they skimmed on cleanliness of the room they probably would skip on cleanliness while preparing the food. They also have a fitness center. It's really dated with old machines and the room had a stale odor to it. Last but certainly not least, the staff member who checked me in was kind of short with me which came off as very rude. I'm done with this hotel. The 2 star rating is for the cleanliness of the room. If they were to thoroughly clean this would be a 3 start hotel. read more

3 stars because they are pet friendly. Room had an unpleasant musty smell. Microwave was in need of repair or replacement. I used the "fitness center" wanted to use the elliptical but it was not plugged in, in fact the cord was gone. I looked up some previous reviews, one from 2016 complained about the fitness room, even showed a photo of the same cordless elliptical! We've had awesome stays at BW before, hope this place starts to do some minor repairs soon. read more

So what started out at the longest (and most horrible) road trip in the world (to Florida) may have been redeemed by my overnight stay at the Best Western Plus in Santee, SC. Located just off I-95 at Exit 98, the Santee in is probably the most beautiful Best Western I've encountered in a long time. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished (it helps that the region is known for producing some of the most beautiful furniture in the country). From the moment you walk in to the room, you are instantaneously set at ease. The room just looks so comfortable and inviting! The beds ensure a perfect night's sleep. Each room is wifi enabled. The complimentary breakfast the next morning is so much more than bagels and pastries. You get eggs, grits, oatmeal, waffles and anything else you may want to before your start your journey. The staff are accommodating and super nice. They are definitely all about the Southern char,. They make you want to come back again and again. Definitely added to my list of hotels to stay at again! read more

We were traveling I95 and trying to get as far as we could toward Orlando as we could. It was midnight and there were no rooms available anywhere in Santee. We took a chance and Best Western had a room available. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and a hot breakfast was included. The receptionist was lovely as well. The lobby and dining area were clean, and the hot breakfast included scrambled eggs, make your own waffles, bagels and yogurt and fruit. There was also a nice little pool. Driving from Maryland to Florida, we checked yelp and trip advisor for the best nearby hotel. Best western got the best reviews and they lived up to them. Good price at $89, clean rooms and very friendly check in. Easy access to I-95 and close to a fantastic cracker barrel. Big room with a king size bed. We'd definitely stay there again. read more

We stayed here for 1 night on our way to Hilton Head since we couldn't check into our condo until the next day and the price was right. All the units here are ground floor and you can pull right up to your door which can be nice at times depending on the area you're staying in. The room was very clean, well equipped with a little fridge and microwave and one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on. The bathroom was pretty tiny, but other than that, it was fine. I wondered if we would hear a lot of noise, but didn't hear any and the place had many other people staying there. There is an outside pool--another plus! The water was a nice, warm temperature! Breakfast is included with the room and that was very busy the next morning so the inside seating was pretty much taken. No problem, we went and sat at a table out at the pool. Perfect! Another great plus for staying here is that there is a wonderful restaurant right next door. Wonderful if you've been cooped up in a car all day and don't want to drive anywhere.
