So grateful for this hotel. This is the only hotel that sleeps five comfortably in the Orangeburg/Santee South Carolina area. I have not been able to find a hotel with a pullout couch that suits our family needs. This hotel may be a little seasoned, but it serves its purpose. They are currently under a renovation. I can't wait to see the improvements. Customer service is always pleasant and we have never had an issue. There is continental breakfast in the a.m. and I believe they have cookies and candy available in the evening. We stopped at Comfort Inn in Santee on our road trip. Clean rooms , Comfortable beds, and great complimentary breakfast.

My husband one night, 9/27 into 9/28, and he said this Comfort Inn was not on par with other ones that he has stayed in. He stated that it did not smell clean/fresh, the vending machine was out of order and appeared to have been that way for a while. The TV had to be serviced in order to come on. The breakfast area had no atmosphere, the food selection was minimal and bananas looked very old/unappetizing. This was disappointing as he has always relied on Comfort Inn when traveling! read more

Stopped here while traveling along I-95. I'm a bit in a quandry whether this property is undergoing renovations or has had sportatic renovations done. For starters, there is an indoor floor lamp out front the building that is turned on in the evening for illumination, and adjacent to it is a wood pallet. The flooring is torn up just beyond the front desk, as well as floor molding removed. My room (#112) appears recently renovated (fridge, microwave, desk - nicely apppinted and decorated). The bathroom is a different story. Dirty in corner of floor. Toilet seat was up when I arrived. Dirty tiñe floor grout, rusty spots in grout in shower. Then there's a cheap-looking carts in the corner of bathroom with tissues, ice bucket, plastic cups. It's very awkward and creepy-looking. Not what I'd expect from this brand nor for the price of $170/night. read more

This motel fell short of expectations. The main issues with our stay was the housekeeping staff. There were many areas where there was significant shortfalls in the cleaning. There was a plastic spoon in plain sight right next to the microwave. There was dust on the pictures frames a ring from a cup on a table and the charging port was disgusting (see attached picture). The breakfast was decent. All in all, we were very disappointed with our stay; especially since this was a Comfort "Suites" motel. read more

The room had a very strong moldy smell. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom floor had long dark hairs all over it and I had to clean it before we took showers. When I told the front desk, they were apologetic but offered no compensation. The breakfast was good and that portion of the hotel was clean. At a $100+ price point I was expecting more. Most of the interior was dated with some apparent upgrades here and there. The staff was nice and helpful. The bathroom in the hotel room seemed newer than the room itself. The location is the least convenient of the hotels at that exit The breakfast buffet was probably more expansive than the Hampton Inn in that it had biscuits and gravy in addition to the standard pancakes, eggs and bacon. After a reservation problem with a *different * hotel, we were greeted so cordially. The room was clean. The bathroom was slightly dated but the breakfast was very good. Hotel was not 'dirty' nor was it clean. Our room was dated in decor and did not seem to have been checked for cleanliness and bugs. Toilet seat had a hair on it and dead roach in sink. No big deal because I can pick it up and throw it away-- I just assume that when renting a room that those things have been taken care of for me. The beds were clean and the place was quiet. The morning breakfast was a nice perk. Simple breakfast of fruit, cereal, toast, eggs. For the cost of the room I'd try another place next time. read more

The front desk staff was rude and confusing upon our arrival. We did make a late reservation from the road so we expected a bit of hassle but not nearly as much as we got. The woman who checked us in was very short spoken with us and seemed to need a vacation or something. We had two families traveling together and the other family reserved all 4 rooms over the phone. When we arrived she wouldn't let our family get the points on our member account because the reservation was under a different name......she said this while swiping my credit card paying for 2 of the rooms. I saw the "reservation" it was handwritten on a piece of paper. I honestly thought I was on Candid Camera. The rooms were clean but had seen their better days. Paint was worn, bathrooms showed age, and the carpets were not pretty. One of the room doors did not close properly (I didn't report this because I never wanted to talk to the lady at the front desk again). Also the refrigerator was loud and made a ton of noise, I am not sure if it was the model r what but it got unplugged around midnight. The free breakfast was very good, basic hotel stuff, eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. The big bonus was sausage gravy (my favorite) and it was rather good! The nice breakfast still didn't make up for the complete lack of customer service and old rooms. I don't think I will ever be in this area again, but if I am, I am going somewhere else. read more

For the price we thought this was a great hotel. We ended up paying about 30 bucks less than what was quoted at the neighboring Holiday Inn and can't imagine the rooms would've been any better. The room was really nice. Comfortable beds. Great service. The only bad thing was the breakfast was not so good. The sausage tasted pretty bad. I'm not completely convinced it was actually meat. Idk The eggs and biscuits were cold. We could only eat a danish. Oh and yhe juice was good. Other than that it was a nice experience. I would stay there again but head over to cracker barrel or the waffle house for breakfast. read more

I have a service dog . No pet sign as I entered building .i was with my parents so they stood there and I had to look for a different hotel where they would take my dog that has a doctors note that stated emotional support dog . The building needs renovation badly. read more

Overall it was a pleasant stay. They have updated all of the rooms and bathrooms. It smells like fresh paint. The room was clean with the exception of a few stray hairs in the tub. With taxes we paid $103. Not bad. They offer a full breakfast from 6-9. We passed on it, because the Cracker Barrel was next door. The two staff members we encountered were friendly. read more

If I could give this a negative star I would. After waiting in line 20 min, while my wife and two tired kids were in the van, I was told I could not get our reservation because it was under her name. This place was wonderful. I am in the hospitality business - an assistant manager of a hotel - so I know what to expect. The beds were like clouds, customer service was great, and the rooms were very clean. The only downfall was there are no smoking rooms, & none of the rooms have patios/balconies. This is something us smokers will find aggravating considering you have to go up and down 3 floors whenever you want a smoke. The breakfast was pretty good. We needed to stop on a trip from Virginia to Florida. Other hotels in the area were sold out. This hotel had 1 suite available. The Good The desk clerk allowed me to check it out before I took the room which was really helpful. The suite had a small sitting area, microwave, and mini fridge. Another door let to the sleeping area. The beds were comfortable. The televisions were newer and the channel guide was provided. The Bad The lobby and hallways were like a hundred degrees and the elevator sounded like it was about to give up with just 2 people. The bedspread was stained with something like blood, that was pretty gross. The door between the sitting area and bedroom would not stay open. The bathroom smelled like a dirty mop and the sink faucet had some weird crud. For what we paid ($133) I certainly expected a cleaner room, but due to fatigue and the trip we had been having it was a decent place to rest. read more

We had an excellent stay during a brief stop en route to Florida. Front desk staff at check in and check out was friendly, attentive, and professional. Decor throughout the hotel was inviting and clean. Breakfast offerings were standard continental with some hot offerings. Having been at a lot of hotel breakfast spots and seeing a lot of overflowing trash cans, we appreciated the choice of of the hotel to use non-styrofoam plates, bowls, and cups in the breakfast area. read more

Working in Santee stayed for two nights. This place is super nice, awesome employees and awesome rooms! Ac blows nice and cold, bed very comfy, clean room, nice bathroom, the rate was very good. BED BUGS, BED BUGS, BED BUGS...Stay away from this hotel. My family stayed here for one night awaking the next day with bed bug bites all over our lower bodies. Contacted the hotel and denied having bed bugs. Instead of contacting a professional to exam the room the manager and wife inspected the room and claimed it was fine. The hotel management were completely rude and were no help at all. Seems that the manager kept lying to me and my wife as his story kept changing. DO NOT STAY HERE. You have been warned. read more

I was traveling thru South Carolina and needed a clean hotel for a few hours of sleep . This hotel was clean with a friendly staff . My only compliant was that I called ahead and asked for pricing . I mentioned that I had a coupon and requested that rate . I was then told I couldn't reserve this rate it was first come first serve . This is the best hotel in this small town. It's a couple years old and they are currently renovating the pool (closed). There's a restaurant inside the hotel. They do accept small dogs for $10 extra. I used my AAA and received a discount. The one complaint that I have is that the door locks are not working so well. Only after struggling for a couple minutes will the door open. Excellent hotel choice. The area was sold out due to Hurricane Matthew, so I grudgingly stayed here. I was pleasantly surprised with the comfy bed, pillows and comforter! They also had a charger station for phones on the desk- a plus! The bathroom counter was low, which is a plus for a shorty like me! Breakfast was the usual fair, but a very friendly worker actually came by to ask if we needed anything! Wow! Would definitely stay here again. Didn't give 5 stars only due to the $117 room price. Not worth the price. The bathroom was disgusting- floor was dirty and is so old the grout is caked with black, there were stains all over the doors, walls and trim, hairs visibly hanging in the tub, grime in every corner and bathroom caulking was black and moldy looking, bottom of tub looked black/dirty, and there was a water bug next to the mirror. Used shampoo and conditioner containers were left for us. the beds were comfortable but I was seriously doubting the cleanliness of everything after seeing the bathroom. read more

I booked a suite online for my family of 5. 1 child is over 21. We were told all 3 were adults and would be an additional $10 each. No where does it say that on the website. The front desk could not have been ruder. When we asked where it stated the company policy we were told it didn't matter if the website stated it that was the policy. The room was awful for the the price. The plug on the microwave had to be held in order to keep it plugged in and the air conditioner rattled like crazy. There are way too many other hotels around to be treated this way. Stay away!!! Never again!!! read more
