It had been a while since I stayed here and I don't think the decor has changed much. But, they do have EV chargers on site which is nice. You can check out a key to the chargers and there is a $10 fee (but you don't have to move your car b/c it's for 24 hours). This DoubleTree reminds me of an Embassy Suites because of the open area with surrounding rooms. It was super quiet when I was there. Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

UPDATE: checked out one day early because they hadn't cleaned my room in three days and they refunded my night stay I had already paid. Customer service at desk is great and friendly. Good-cookie when you check in, friendly staff, doesn't smell awful, price, location, comfy-ish, quick service with front desk even at night needing maintenance and/or blankets. Chick fil a/ whataburger/walmart across the street, coffee shop in the parking lot! Ac working in my room! Cons-no fridge or microwave, breakfast costs $7, room darkening blinds didn't close all the way, bed is VERY sunken in like it was once comfortable 15 years ago... All of those are mostly livable, but the bathroom is just .... Fine. not thought out. Very important details are missed. Towels are itchy, shower sprayed water all over ceiling. But they were super responsive and fixed the shower head from spraying immediately. But It's aimed at the wall and the soap dishes are there so you have to stand sideways to even be under the water, and I am 5'2! Maybe it's just my room but it seems like their shower contractors were in a hurry. I kept hitting my arms and legs on the bar or soap dish. The water pressure is not much and dipped when someone flushed in a whole other room. I noticed the nozzle on the tub was broken for water temperature and just turned all the way around. the ADA handle in the shower is loose and definitely would not help someone who was falling. And finally the ceilings are very low in the bathroom and there's no good place to put on your makeup close to a mirror with good light. Up until we got a note left in our room after it was cleaned saying "never seen anyone use literally everything from the coffee station that's insane lmao" now I'm not sure if it was supposed to be funny but I felt very offended by it. Was I not supposed to use "everything" they offered in the room? Were they upset because I used the coffee station? I'm not sure but to me this note was condescending and rude. Was passing through Springfield and had made reservations at the Doubletree based on the past reviews. Upon arrival we found our room clean and well stocked with everything we needed for the one night stay while on our road trip. What earns this single star review is the lack of air conditioning in our room. It was late June when we were there and it was warm when we arrived. We turned the air down and left to go eat dinner. We returned and found that the room had only cooled a few degrees. Long story short, at 1am we were both awake and discussed leaving and getting back on the road because it was so warm and stuffy in the room. We decided to tough it out and got a few hours of sleep. The icing on the cake - when checking out I mentioned to the front desk clerk that our stay was less than pleasurable. I went on to say that our room was stifling hot and surprisingly the lobby was cooler than our room. Her response, "Yeah, we get that complaint all the time." Room smelled awfully and room ac was not working correctly, woke up with a puddle of sweat on my chest, ended up going down to the truck and turning ac on to get cooled off sometime early morning it was tolerable, on top of that there was no slip towel and the toilet would not flush. Sipped on floor getting out of shower then after fooling with the toilet got it to flush! Said something the next morning and they said they would take care of it! They said nothing was wrong with AC and they fixed the toilet! NOT! Then went to restaurant and they wouldn't even wait on us! Look enough is enough! Breakfast sucked, stay sucked! Dirty vents. Rude staff. Dated hotel. No refrigerator. No cookies. We booked thru Expedia and we were told upon checkin that we could not give them our Hilton honors number because we booked thru Expedia. However, every other hotel within the Hilton chain that we have stayed at within the last month has allowed us to do so. Moral of the story-don't stay here. Additionally we received a phonecall at 12 midnight that our reservation (which had been paid in full) was being canceled because the hotel was oversold. Mind you we had been on the road for 4 hours already. They offered ti separate our party inbetween 2 hotels and have our minor daughter stay in her own room across the street. As we also called around town every hotel was booked. Then magically a customer checked out. Apparently 2 pilots staying in a king bedroom were called in to pilot a plane at 12midnight. Sounds legit-right? NO. We ended up with 2 rooms for the night 3 floors apart. When we asked if upon check out the next day they could move our daughter into the room next to us or move us together-the front desk agent refused. The place seemed really clean and they had mask requirements, the clean seal stickers on the rooms, wipes in the rooms, hand sanitizer all over. Breakfast is not free here. Overall the property is fairly outdated, but it seems they are in the planning stages of a remodel. The tv didn't work and there was no room service menu in the room. So a few details missing. Also, I found sticky stuff on the desk and the bathroom counter which I had to clean before settling in. No idea what it was. All that aside, the real issue was the harassment I received from an older gentleman working the front desk. Upon checkout, I approached the desk to get a receipt. The man told me to smile. Most women, especially when traveling solo for business, do not appreciate being told to smile by a man. It's condescending, sexist, rude, and gives us predatory vibes. If I was a man, he would not have told me to smile. Case closed. To make sure I heard him right I said, "I'm sorry, did you just ask me to smile for you?" He said he did. It wasn't worth creating a scene. I just simply slid my stuff down the desk to the woman who was also working. I politely asked her for my receipt. The man proceeded to try to engage me. I said "I don't work with men who tell me to smile. It's rude. We don't do that." He continued to tease me. Told me "oh, don't be like that." "Really?" "You are really going to act like that?" "So how was your stay? ....that good, huh?" I ignored all of his attempts to engage with me. I had already explained why I didn't want to work with him, and I didn't think I even owed him that. His pushing and continuing to question me was outright harassment. I am a solo female business traveler working in the travel industry and I deserve as much respect and courtesy as my male counterparts. read more

Worst Hilton property I have visited! Management is absent and unavailable! In the middle of the night Hilton Corp moved me to the Hampton Inn a block away which was a much better choice! Highly recommend avoiding the Doubletree as they are more comparable to a Econolodge than the Hilton brand... This property definitely needs a management overhaul and to hire someone that supports their property, staff, and guests... in the meantime it should not be allowed to have the Hilton brand... read more

Stayed here when I went to Springfield for training for work. It's a nice place and of course the cookie is awesome! I wish I could get a cookie every night but maybe I'm just greedy. I got picked up at the airport by their shuttle driver who was nice but went into these weird stories on the way there. He got us there safely though! The check in process was easy but when I went back down later to buy a Sprite from the shop she had a heck of a time ringing it up. Maybe she was new but I've never had any hotel have any problems with charging me for items! The room was nice. Nothing super fancy but the bed and pillows were comfy. We ha a great view of the roof so nothing to see there. It felt a little small for two people but maybe that's just me. They did forget to clean our room one day which was a little bit of a hassle but they did bring extra towels while we were out. No extra cookies though. The breakfast is super delicious though! It was paid for by my company but the sign said it was $12.95 a person. Youch. But they had bacon and sausage so there's that. All in all it's s nice hotel and I'd stay there again. I never take the time to give companies a review. However, after the service I received this weekend, it was the LEAST that I could do to say thank you. I'd like to caveat with, I have stayed at this particular double tree off and on for over 15 years. I've seen the ebbs and flows of good management and the not so good. I've stayed loyal regardless. This particular stay, a volleyball team came in the night before my scheduled stay. They needed my two connecting double queen rooms. The morning of my stay, management contacted me to let me know what happened and offered me a connecting room with one king and then the double Queen. I said no sweat AT ALL, things happen, we find a solution and we move on. Compromise. Upon arrival an attendee knocked on my door and gave her apologies for the "inconvenience" and gave me a 30.00 credit to use on the premises. That paid for my amazing scallop dinner and my crème brûlée cheesecake dessert that was chefs kiss perfection! I get my final bill the next day and see that I was discounted on my room rate also. Excellent, excellent customer service! They went above and beyond when a simple explanation was all that was warranted. And btw, the cookies were warm as promised and delicious! The room was very clean, the bed was the kind of hotel bed we all dream of, and the energy in the building from the other guests made me feel great about staying there! I would give this stay a 10/5 easily! read more

Not up to Hilton standard. The executive lounge did not exist. The items related to the lounge are actually at the front counter not where the lounge is located-10th floor. Weird. Also, found dirty towel, deodorant cap under desk. They switched my room last second. There are no USB outlets in any rooms. Very outdated. Would not recommend. There was a fire in the building the second day. Fire alarm did not go off in our room 920. Not good. I informed the front office manager. I will also notify the fire department because it's a safety hazard. The room seems moldy. Not sure the hotel can do much other than close down the room. Just FYI. Beautiful hotel. I chose this hotel was because it was a bit south of I-40 for safety and security because our trailer was broken into on I-40 in Oklahoma City. KUDOS to the staff from start to finish of our stay! I admit I was a bit concerned from the reviews I had read on top of us having reservations with a certificate of "On Us" for the one night stay. When we presented the certificate upon arrival the two ladies helping us were so nice and seemed to be as happy as we were that we were able to use it with them!! The lobby is nice and open, glass elevators and our room was nice and clean with as much view as we could expect in the area! My husband and I stayed here when we visited for a work trip. They were so friendly and sweet. He absolutely love the warm cookies they gave and the hotel was so beautiful. The view from the 7th floor was amazing and breakfast the next morning was amazing. They had everything you could want for breakfast including 2 different kinds of waffles. They have a chef making made to order omelettes with lots of options. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was big enough for my husband I to get ready at the same time. The night we were there they were doing work on one of the front doors and the next morning a higher up manager was out in the lobby helping to clean the dust and rugs. Impressed us that no one was too good to make it beautiful and work hard. read more

Whenever I'm in Springfield, this is the ONLY place I stay. I am normally a Hampton Inn guy because its the best value I have found as far as a quality hotel for a decent price, but every time I try to book at one of the two Hampton Inns in Springfield, they're always sold out. Bonus for me: I found Doubletree. The Doubletree Hotels are part of the Hilton family, so I get the same rewards points with them as I did with Hampton. Everywhere else in the country (that I've been anyways) Doubletree is usually around $160-170 a night. Not here. It is only around $100, and with my corporate discount I'm usually locked in at $89. Insane price for a hotel of this quality. If you've never been to a Doubletree, then you may not know that you get a warm chocolate chip cookie when you check in. Tasty. There were also a couple of free bottles of water when I got to my room. The rooms themselves are very updated and extremely clean. The maid service was even spectacular. I usually only sleep with two pillows on the bed (even though its a king size) and later that day when I returned to my room, it was made up and put together, but only my two pillows were on the bed. The other two were sitting on the chair where I left them with a note, "I noticed you only wanted the two on the bed so I figured I'd leave them on the chair so you didn't have to move them again." There is also a Houlihan's in the lobby, which is good food, reasonably priced and very quick for a sit down restaurant if you've never been. Although I've never actually been in this place in the evenings, I hear its a pretty hoping happy hour and evening bar as well and am going to check it out the next time I'm in town later this month. The Houlihan's does create a bit of a parking jam in the front of the building, but there are side entrances and plenty of parking on site. The gym is so-so. Smallish with a a couple machines and about 2-3 treadmills. Definitely not what I expected for such a large hotel, but it was clean and I didn't have to wait for the machines at the hours I was there. The pool was relatively small, but I believe it went both indoors and ourdoors if I'm not mistaken. Longest. Review. Ever. Bottom line, you're not going to find a better hotel for the money. You're spending a hundo, but you're getting two hundo quality. read more

Have stayed at this hotel about five times now, with only one wonky stay which the hotel made right, but in all, I keep coming back to enjoy the breakfast (free for gold and diamond). Also there is a new Houlihan's with vegan options. Hotel about a ten minute drive from airport with free shuttle and parking, across from Walmart and Kum&Go (I didn't name the place) gas station at Glenstone and Kearney. Tiniest pool in the universe that I didn't use because packed with kids so maybe leave the swimsuit home. Would like to see benches out in front where elderly wait for shuttles. My Discover card was declined due to an issue beyond my control (this same issue happened with other guests). I called Discover four times and the hotel continues to blame Discover, regardless, they called my work to tell them my bill was left unpaid. They told personal issues to my place of employment! I stayed at the Springfield Double Tree in October 2018 and found my stay to be OK. There is no resort fee or parking fee. Parking is in front and around the hotel. The Hotel seems very similar to an Embassy Suites with a open center atrium. The hotel is 10 floors. For security you need a room key to operate the elevator. There is Houlihan's restaurant attached to the hotel and across the street is Applebee's restaurant. The hotel has a mini-mart, a 24 hour medium size gym, a small pool and jacuzzi open from 6am-11pm. The gym has 5 Precor basic cardio machines that allows you to watch tv as your working out. There is a strength machine and a dumbbell rack. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. When you check-in you get a warm delicious cookie. There is a small restaurant that serves a buffet style breakfast for $13. The food was all good, made to order omelette station. Everything you would expect to have at a breakfast buffet and it was all good. The room was medium size and clean. It was decorated with Picasso prints. It had a coffee maker, safe, large flat screen tv with lots of channels, desk and chair, and a chair & ottoman. There is no frig, but if you need one, they will bring you one for free. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Bathroom was medium size with the tub/shower, sink, and toilet all in one room. It was clean, and had a blow dryer. read more

I had a great stay! Very covid conscious and clean. They seal the room with a label that shows it was cleaned. Room was beautiful and welcoming. No problems checking in. Pets allowed. I have a dog and he liked it. Got some drinks from the restaurant and the bar tender was cool. Clean shower. Shower head was a little weird but got the job done. And they had the most comfortable bed it was amazing and I slept so good! They have water in a can and I loved that. They sell beer at the front desk too. This hotel is pretty new so it's very nice and aesthetically pleasing. They did give us little dog treats for our dog which is very cute ($50 per pet in case you're wondering.) However it's definitely overpriced for what you're getting in return. You have to pay for breakfast in the morning, so that's already not worth the price of this place. There's free coffee in the lobby but it's so bitter that we tossed it and ended up getting coffee at a stop on the road. read more

I just came back from my business trip out here again. Both my coworker and I were impressed more than before. We happen to be at this hotel when there was trivia night where we got to play with other hotel guests in the lounge. So, it was nice to munch on some cheese/crackers and drink some wine/beer while enjoying each other's company. In addition, we were able to enjoy made-to-order breakfast everyday. At the first floor, there is a nice gym and indoor/outdoor pool. The only thing I would say is that I would have liked to have a fridge in the room. read more

Minor areas for improvement would be the lack of microwave in the room (one near front desk), no hot tub, poor cable tV connection during the rain. Being the nicest hotel in the Springfield area that also accommodates pets - as we were picking up our new canine - I was rather impressed by the interior layout and open architecture, which I have yet to see at other, similar hotels. Check-in and check-out were both incredibly quick and seamless, and we were gifted complimentary dog treats and cookies, which was a nice additive. I stayed here when I was in town for a cousins wedding, and was very happy with the room service, friendly staff, and especially for the thorough house keeping. I dropped my E-Cigarette somewhere in the room, and left town without it. I called them a couple days later and explained what I was missing, and they already had it in a zip lock with my name on it. I also lost my electric toothbrush while there, and I called AGAIN about that one. they looked for it thoroughly all throughout the room, to no avail. They are leaving my found item at the UPS store so I can arrange shipping, and said they will let me know if the tooth brush shows up. The wedding reception was held at the hotel, and it was very nicely done. I would recommend the Double Tree to anyone needing a room in the area. read more

I rarely ever get the inclination to write a review on a hotel, but my stay here at the Doubletree was actually really great. I was in town for a workshop that was being held at another hotel down the street, but my colleagues suggested staying here because they weren't too fond of the other hotel. Best decision! We arrived pretty late night after a 9+ hour drive. We were tired, disheveled, and just wanted to sleep. Our check in was seamless and fast and at the end, our check-in clerk asked if we wanted warm chocolate chip and walnut cookies. Ummm....YES! Omg, those cookies are soooooooooo good! We asked if the rooms had mini refrigerators. They said no, but that they could set them up for us. Cool! So we went back to the car, parked, got all of our crap out and headed to our rooms. I like that the elevator is room key card activated, so it made me feel safe. When we got to the room, it was CLEAN, it wasn't stuffy, AND....our mini refrigerators were already in our rooms!!! (insert wow emoji) Talk about quick service!!! And the beds were pretty darn comfy! Also just as important, the bathroom was nice. We also enjoyed the restaurant they have downstairs called Gracie's. We went for breakfast every morning we were there. They have a breakfast buffet that includes made-to-order omelets. I was weary about trying their scrambled eggs, because, while I love eggs, I really dislike mass-made scrambled eggs because they're always so watery. Nope, not here. Their scrambled eggs are made fresh. Their fruit was ripe and sweet and we were appreciative of their bottomless coffee...though we never drank more than two, haha! They do have free wifi, but I was never able to connect to it. I could have easily gone back to the front desk to get it sorted, but I was really trying to disconnect so that was fine by me. Every night we opted for free warm cookies, which again, were delicious! The staff are super friendly and extremely helpful! Truly, one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had! read more

I had never been to Springfield and the internet had scared me a little bit, making me think it was the saddest of mid-western suburbs. A company I was interviewing with flew me out and set me up in a room here. Nice work, prospective future employer because it totally worked and made me think Springfield is pretty nice! I check in late in the evening after travelling all day. The check-in dude was friendly and efficient - exactly what I want when all I want to do is shower and go to sleep. The elevators were super fast (nothing makes me crazy like waiting forever for an elevator!) and the room was perfect - recently updated, clean and quiet. I didn't spend a ton of time in the hotel as I was busy with interviewing and exploring, but I did get a chance to use the fitness center which was much nicer than what I usually see in chain hotels. I also ended up getting an offer and will be moving to Springfield in the next month, so I'll definitely use this Doubletree as the place to suggest people stay when they want to come visit me if we don't have the space. read more
