This hotel was dirty and inoperable. We got to the hotel late at night and they told us that there was no elevator and we had elderly people with us that had a very hard time going up the stairs. When we got to our room we discovered there were a ton of moths in it. It was because the window was broken and was open and wouldn't close. Then we discovered that two of our three rooms AC was broken. Our pillows had stains. The shower in the "family room" was completely out in the open with no doors separating it from the rest of the room. It was a deep tub with no openings making it difficult for the elderly or the clumsy to enter without a pretty hard fall. read more

The good...there's a bar, a restaurant, a pool, and it's close to the highway. The bad...the rooms are disgusting. The carpets may have never been cleaned. The bathroom had mold. This is absolutely a budget conscious place that caters to workers on local jobs or road weary travelers. If you want clean and comfortable then this is not your place. read more

My room was clean ' enough' (no bed bugs), light switches in bathroom have gross residue. The hotel doesn't have a complementary breakfast. (Never have I ever been to a BW that didn't have a complementary breakfast, 15yrs, 6+states, 20? Locations? They do offer a free beverage in the (using the term loosely) lounge, that REEKS of old cigarettes, I guess they aren't out a drink because I won't be using it. The Friday fish buffet smells of old/overcooked fish so I will not want to have my non-complementary breakfast in said restaurant as I think the odor will linger to the next morning. read more

My husband booked this place. Never again. If you're okay with living like a homeless person then you can stay here for the night. That's how he is. He wouldn't care if the bed had bedbugs. Most normal humans need a little more. There is no counter space in the bathrooms. The shower has the most hard and powerful stream I've ever been in. It felt like I was washing myself with tiny razor blades. There's no where to hang anything in the bathroom. Towels, or your new clean clothes. The heater/AC is right next to the window. And the curtains blow over it. So it takes 4x as long for your room to heat up or cool down. Because the air is basically being blown into the windows. Super helpful. Not. Breakfast isn't free. Although he swore up and down it was. The place is ugly and just nasty. Thank god we are driving across the country and I don't have to talk to him for the next 9 hours. I'd kill him. read more

I don't think is hotel desires a rating. We have been staying at this hotel for two months. We are from Page Arizona. The town is hosting a conference and the hotel jacked up their prices 4 times the rate and they are kicking out the people that have been renting from them for some time. Mom and I were on a fun road trip that was somewhat derailed by car trouble. When we arrived at this location we had been driving 10-11 hours in an effort to try and recover the time we had lost. Grateful to find a best western as we have always found them to be consistently wonderful. Upon checking in we found my mothers ac unit to be inoperable and smelled as if it was on fire. The heat was unbearable. My room also seemed to have an inoperable unit as well. When Mom called to let them know the front desk agent said she would need to wait for the repair man to arrive. My mother is elderly and disabled. The condition of the room was not suitable for her to remain in it. We went to the front desk and explained we would be leaving. It just simply wasn't possible to continue to have my mother in the heat. The front desk agent let us know that any refund would have to be discussed with Nicole the General Manager. I called Nicole a day or two later to discuss the situation. She immediately started raising her voice. I was given no opportunity to even speak a single word. When I asked her if she was even going to give me an opportunity to speak she hung up on me. Mind blown. I see where the terrible customer service comes from. The fish stinks at the head. We are currently in direct contact with corporate. This is not a good representation of what I have always found to be a great place to stay. Be prepared the only response that you'll get from Nicole is that we are liars. That's it. read more

Horrible rooms and NO customer service. Both room air conditioner was broken (horribly hot). My room smelled like something was burning (maintenance man said he thought it was the dust in the system burning). Being disabled, I couldn't breathe in the room. Called down to the front desk and was told I couldn't change rooms and had to stay until maintenance showed up. Didn't unpack, but went to the front desk. She indicated if they couldn't fix the air conditioners she would try to find two other rooms, but they would probably be on the second floor. We told her no, we would need to leave. She told us to take the managers card and call her the next day - no refund. Called the manager in the morning and only got our names out before she "Yelled" No refund and hung up. Found out not only did they bill me, but charged two different prices for the same type of rooms ($216.48 and $116.48). Taking care of that now. This is not against Best Western. All other stays at their hotels (especially in Murdo, SD) were excellent! The Gillette hotel needs a little customer service, to say the least. read more

Company holiday party in Gillette and company paid for the room. Unfortunately not only were the carpets and walls dirty they seemed to have a homophobic bar and bar tender. Me and my husband ( boy and girl) which doesn't fucking matter because equality and humans rights exists everywhere but Wyoming I guess we're staying in the room. We had a great holiday party at Prime Rib and some of us came back to the bar here at the Best Western where we played games and drank. My husband was closing out his tab and the bar tender was letting him know, men across the bar were calling him a fag and making fun of him because of his beautiful dressed up shirt that happened to have floral print on it. She continued this behavior on her own after I thought she was great and nice. Crystal really disappointed us with this small minded behavior especially for paying customers. I truly thought it was 2023 but I guess in small town Wyoming, you can't ask for much. Never staying here again. read more

The customer is never right and will always be wrong according to this GM. The place looks outdated on the inside front desk is rude and plays the victim when they say something wrong to customers and the GM sides with the employee and doesn't care if you're in the right and can prove it that you are right. GM likes to up-talk the business but is very disrespectful because they are running the place and you are not. If you like homeless because they will not kick them out this would be a great place, homeless, rude comments, customer is wrong no matter what, and insults from the front desk clerk this place would be perfect then. read more

I agree with Aviel S. completely. Very similar experience. Super dirty. Definitely NOT a 3 star hotel. Unfortunate pick on Priceline. And no wifi as others complained. We waited 5-7 minutes to check in while the desk staff continued saying the same thing about the wifi not working to another guest at the hotel. I think at some point he should have at least greeted us and let us know he'd be with us in a minute and really should have "concluded" the conversation with guest in front of us with an apology at least. There were no apologies given at this poor excuse of a hotel. Dirty trash bags littered the hallways and when I inquired as to why, the staff person said, "oh yeah, the asian tourists get dropped off their bus and the first thing they do is put their bags of trash outside their door rooms." WORST hotel ever!! The hallway smelled like fish, the room smelled like fart and bathroom smelled like mold! The room was so hot and no air conditioning. We opened the window for fresh air and it smelled AWFUL! We left after 10 minutes because my kids were gagging!! The hotel refused to refund because there were no other complaints! So disappointed! This place was a life saver. And the best part. They are pet friendly We are driving cross country and are finding out that there at a lot more hotels that do not take pets than ones that do. Nice clean comfortable room. Amazing water pressure in the shower which is what we really needed after 16 hrs of driving in the snow and ice. And warm and friendly staff. The stay and service was horrible from check in to check out, including a sub par dinner (service and food), at the steak house. We booked the 2 story room, #4200, so we could have privacy with our 9 year old staying with us. At check in we asked about a luggage cart and were told they would be at the entrance to each section from the parking lot. This would have been pointless if were true, as no luggage carts were present anywhere; but it was doubly pointless as there is no elevator to the second floor and our entrance was on the second floor....or was it? Actualy it turns out that there is a private room entrance at the parking lot level with a side walk to/from the parking lot, which would have been good to know as we had to haul our luggage up the stairs to the the second floor entry. After entering the room we then had to  drag it back down the narrow spiral staircase to the bath/bedroom level. Only then did we discover the exterior entry at that level. So on an up note leaving, was much easier as we just left via the bedroom level door. Again knowing that was an option at check in would have been appreciated.  The truly odd fact is that the manager on duty at check out claimed he didn't know that there was a door that had parking lot access, when I attempted to go over the facts of my challenges during our stay.  This seems odd and lacking at a management level regarding knowledge of even the basic amenities and layout of the property. After the check in and luggage debacle we found the bedding on the upstairs sleeper sofa to be dirty, slept in, with visible black long curly hair all over it. We called down to the desk for new bedding and they were neither gracious nor apologetic and  about having housekeeping switch them out and seemed pained to do so. The next challenge to the room set up is that there is no privacy from the second floor to the first and there is also no way to close blinds (no access to the windows and no blinds on them) on the second floor windows to stop light streaming in from the outside in the morning. Then there is the shower set up, it has no doors and is completely open to the room and visable from the open staircase where our 9 year old was staying above. We also found it to be dirty, with hair in the soaker tub, similar to what was on the sofa bed sheets. So much for the claim on all the entry doors touting a superior clean/sanitized room with enhanced covid cleaning protocols in place. That is either complete bunk, or there is no management oversight to protocols put in place. Beyond expecting to have a clean and sanitary room with a modicum of privacy from our child; we also booked the room to be able to breakfast together as a family. Therefore we brought specific breakfast items that were microwavable and had the items prepped to put in the microwave only to find it to be broken/completely non functioning. After the horrible meal at the steakhouse the prior evening, capped off with what can only be described as lack luster service at best; we opted for leaving early and a fast food breakfast over betting on the breakfast buffet being a higher quality than the dinner.  When I stopped by the office to check out, I spoke to the manager on duty who couldn't seem to comprehend why I was less than satisfied. His only question is why I just didn't refrigerate my prepped breakfast food and save it for later rather than tossing it. Seriously that was his only comment, not an apology, not anything else. I left my number on the back of the GM's card that was available on the counter and ask that he pass it on for a follow up call, but I have not heard from anyone after nearly 5 hours and have little faith that it did not end up in the trash. My advice is pick any of the multitude of other flag hotels at either exit, if you have any expectations of service, cleanliness, or appreciation for your business. read more

Updated furnishing, although oddly arranged. The TV was parallel to the beds. There was a huge kitchenette, but the fridge and microwave was elsewhere in the room. I WOULD GIVE THEM ZERO STARS IF I COULD!!!! Had reservations forints for the 75th Rally. Started to head out from Sturgis to Gillette and called to let them know we were running late. Guess what???? The rotten worthless manager had cancelled or reservation that same morning! We had not realized out CC had expired 7/31, until we had even gotten to Sturgis! It never crossed my mind that , that was the card holding that room. None the less, that manager couldn't pick up the damn phone and let me know? I am a HOG rewards member.... this hotel was disgusting. i felt like i was going to get scabies if i slept in the bed. first room was 1115, the toilet was broken and leaning to the side, and it smelled like a nursing home. its dark and dreary and outdated. asked for a second room or my money back, was offered a second room. second room had a disgusting smell as well, and there was vomit looking crap spattered on the curtains. aftet driving 600 miles i expected better. went to the Hampton inn instead. read more

Got the suite which really all they did was put two rooms together but the place is very clean and enough room for the kids to play. Very affordable and housekeeping does a great job when needed to. As an elite guest with Best Western, you can say that I have stayed in quite a few of their hotels during my travels. For status purposes alone, I booked at this hotel. The hotel rooms definitely have an outdated feel to them. The smell in the hallways and rooms reminds me a bit of grandmas house. That is not a good thing. That being said, the room was actually relatively comfortable. It could be because I was placed in the best room in the house which included a living room with couch, two flat screen TV's a Jacuzzi and a decent sized room with a King sized bed. Housekeeping kept the room spotless and customer service was excellent If it wasn't for the piss poor restaurant attached, I might have thought about giving them 4 stars; as such, 3 is about as good as I am willing to give. A bit pricy for what you get but not a horrible hotel if you are looking to get off the road. read more

Room was nice and so was the front staff. Everything was good, just not amazing. I am glad they where pet friendly and where located right next to a huge yard that we could park our semi. Worked out great. If we are unable to stay at another places we will stay here again. I was disappointed because they ciukdnt get our CLC card to work. We just needed a place to stay the night as we were passing through. The place is obviously outdated, it looked like they are trying to remodel a little at a time. We paid for a non oking double queen and because they didn't have the rm ready when we checked out they upgrades us to their largest suite. It basically is a large studio. The furniture seem to be just put in there to fill up the large space- no ryme or reason. We didn't mind as we just needed a place to crash. One bed was lop sides and was clean as it can be for a budget hotel. read more

I am a Platinum Member of Best Western. This is the first BW hotel that I am deeply disappointed in. I booked my hotel stay directly with hotel over the phone one week prior to my stay. They informed me of a special $69.99 rate for my business trip. When I arrived, I was told by the manager they had no rooms and I was moved to another hotel in which they owned with the Best Western rate. However the manager informed me the $69.99 rate was incorrect and that it was never offered (even though I had a printed document proving otherwise). The rate would now be $89.99. Myself and 40 other colleagues were treated the same way except for one individual who checked in after the manager left and got the $69.99 rate. I would not recommend staying at this facility becase they don't honor their reservations or rates. read more

I stayed one night back in June and thought it was comfortable for a nice price! My friend and I went to the hotel bar with live music ... staff was friendly and it was nice to have a couple of drinks and not have to worry about walking/driving back to the hotel. The discounted breakfast was amazing! Buffet style and was a full serve breakfast! Super good! Not the traditional cold muffins, yogurt, and microwaved meat. Can I provide 0 stars? Because that's what this place would get for service, cleanliness, and general attitude towards its customers. Our room was dirty (my dog kept finding peanuts on the floor) and it did not appear to have been cleaned. Even though we were on a non-smoking floor there were people smoking. We complained to management and they did nothing. We mentioned the room cleanliness and didn't even have an apology about it. I have never received such poor customer service in my life. This place was disgusting, moldy room with dog pee stains on carpet and fleas biting in one. Whole hotel smelled like smoke and mold. They gave us a broken crib that was very old and had duct tape on it for our toddler. VERY UNSAFE!! They kept putting us in rooms with tub next to bed when I explicitly stated that was a hazard having a 2yo and especially considering the old crib was broken. They did not even have a pack-n-play to offer. They refused to cancel our reservation and Ivan said he had no authority to do so even though he supposedly cancelled our future nights stay after we left. However, they waiting until after midnight to modify the reservation in order to collect the full amount for the first night that we DID NOT stay in the hotel due to health and safety concerns. They have refused to provide a manager at any level for us to speak to. I am told the establishment is locally owned and the owners own a few other hotels in this small town and they are known for exactly this behavior; stalling, no customer service and refusing refunds. We now have almost $250 charged from a hotel we COULD NOT use their services. Corporate has been no help. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!! read more

Beside the fact that they tried to charge me $180 per night until I said I'll look elswhere, at which point they then dropped the price down to $125 per night. I had stayed in the hotel with for an Energy Expo that was in town. I had planned on staying there for 3 nights total, but due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to return to Denver. I found out that I had to return to Denver about 3pm and I left the show to try and check out. The hotel attendent stated that I will be charged becuase it was after 2pm. I was told to call Nicole Brown the next day. I contacted Nicole the next morning, and she had no sympathy. She stated that the maid service doesn't clean the sheets for customers that stay there thus they could not sell the room to someone else. The hotle had vacancies so it was not a problem to find a guest another room. They just chose to be greedy and make money off of me rather than comes to terms on a fair price. I will never stay at a Best Western AGAIN. read more
