Friendly staff and recently renovated. Breakfast was standard hotel/motel with the only problem being they didn't have oat milk or soy milk (not really an issue for most people, but worth noting since most hotels do). It is a hot breakfast but again... standard generic. They do have a waffle maker. They have instant oatmeal without a toppings bar. Neutral note: they don't have ironing boards or irons in the rooms. They haven't figured out where to put them after renovations so you have to check them out at the front. They do have housekeeping everyday. The rooms are clean as far as I can tell but again, pretty standard. It's tucked up a hill after a grocery store and right before a car dealership. This is out 10th year stopping here on our way to our annual fishing trip. This place has always been clean and well maintained that's why we keep coming back. Then there is room 210. It is in an upper corridor that is hotter than Dante's 9 level of hell. All of the vending machines are venting out as well as the room hvac units on a 90 degree Mississippi day. I find the room in very poor repair (see photos) the most shocking was a slab of granite hanging by a prayer right above your feet at the vanity. The hvac was having a time trying to cool because of the heat in the hallway. This was a disappointment after so many years of great stays. Hotel was nice. Location was good. Bad experience with a miscommunication with front desk following morning. Thought we were just reserving a room and putting our card on file in case we didn't cancel in time. Inquired what time we needed to call and cancel the rooms the second day if we indeed didn't need them was told couldn't cancel at all and we just paid for a whole day. Even though it had only been booked for 30 seconds. Didn't think to ask for a manager at 6am since most hotels don't have a manager on duty that early. My wife called later in the morning mostly to talk to them and find out what could be done and let the morning rush die down. Manager told her that she reviewed the footage watched us pay for room and get keys redone. Didn't really know that we had immediately asked about cancelling the booking as we didn't know we were paying for a whole day right then as we didn't sign anything and we're just asking how busy and booked they were. She told us we were trying to scam out of paying for a room as we didn't need it anymore obviously. Was rude over phone but told us she'd call us back. My wife waited a while never heard back called corporate they told her they called the manager she watched the camera and nothing was going to be done. Manager sent a rather rude email reply to a complaint my wife filed to Best Western making fun of a spelling mistake she made and that she should be ashamed of herself for complaining because it could have cost the front desk clerk his job. That the $300 for the two rooms was a small amount of money and it's not that serious. It's a large amount of money to me. It was a simple mistake that could've been corrected. I've gone and looked at several reviews of this hotel and the manager bullies everyone that leaves a negative review and never accepts blame for anything that goes wrong. $300 lesson learned. I've spent a lot of money traveling over the years at work and vacation and usually stay at Best Western as it's my preferred brand and under my company reservation usually spend $5,000 - $10,000 a year at BWH. I will take that business elsewhere. read more

The hotel itself was extremely nice. The evening staff was extremely nice. However the morning front desk clerk does not communicate with customers. The manager refuses to acknowledge a mistake was made. I was checking out and inquired about the availability of another tonight. I was told there was. I said ok. The clerk said I needed to slide my card. I did. Then I asked when was the cancellation deadline. I was told the rooms could not be canceled. I didnt want to book anything. I was inquiring about availability. I never intended to book anything. I called the manage a few hours later because of circumstances and told her that a mistake happened. I was told as soon as the clerk booked me that I couldn't cancel. I tried as soon as it happened. The manager said there was nothing that she could because I waited to call her. Corporate sdied with the manager. Because she watched the video and said I willingly paid. I was under the impression that that was to hold them and I could cancel the hold that afternoon. That hotel stole my money. That clerk could have immediately canceled that reservation but chose not to I will never stay at another Best Western read more

If I could give this place a 0, I would. It's a motel if you can't tell. The breakfast was horrible and my bread was moldy. No exaggeration. When I told the owner, he asked me if it was white or wheat bread and only checked the other white breads, not the wheat to make sure those were not moldy either. The biggest reason you should not book here, my sister and I were staying here and supposed to for 4 nights, one of the MALE employees opened the door to our room and half walked in until he noticed me and my sister there and was like "I'm just checking if y'all need anything". That is NOTTTTT okay!!! You do NOT walk into someone's room ESPECIALLY without knocking. When my sister was questioning why he did that, he tried to play it out as he was just checking if we needed anything and said he was a supervisor. If you're a supervisor, shouldn't you know the most basic rule of not entering a room without knocking? They know which rooms are and are not occupied. Very unprofessional, very shady. Good restaurants near by- only 1 within easy walking distance but we drove a mile or so to the Gumbo Pot and it was fabulous. I wish there was a way to give half stars as I'd call this a 2.5 out of 5 or 50%. I will say you get what you pay for, a 70ish "motel" a place where if you're lucky enough to get a bottom floor room you can literally back your vehicle next to your room. Let's face it though I'd say the typical guest here is blue collar staying for a long term stay due to work. That's what I seen in the parking lot, lots of heavy duty work trucks. And I didn't get the ground floor but there's only two floors so schlepping my stuff up the stairs was a pain but such is life at the BW. It's the typical$100 place that should only be $50 but the market supports the price these days. On the plus side, I got a decent bed I could sleep in except for the loudmouth party next door that kept going until 3 am. Anyhow I think the mgmt tries to make this better but it's hard to shine a turd right? So if you stay bring your ear buds, a can of room deodorizer (my room had ashtrays, so if you smoke this place may be an overnight Nirvana for you), and an open mind. Like traveling back in time to 1975! :-) Almost forgot to mention the old timey A/C that runs all the time loudly. Oh and checkout is at 11am. read more

Stayed at this hotel when driving to Florida. The staff is friendly, the breakfast buffet is good, and the hotel is clean. This rating is really a 3.5 star. The pool is absolutely freezing. It is indoor and needs to be heated. It isn't fun to swim in. My kids lips were purple and they were shivering in June in MS. The other problem is the water for the shower is barely warm. I am sure the owner turned down the hot water heater to save money and also doesn't heat the pool for the same reason. I was looking forward to a nice hot bath after being on the road for 15 hours and was disappointed. I will probably stay at another hotel next time although it wasn't horrible. read more

We were traveling from Arkansas to New Orleans and needed a mid way point to stay. The staff are very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. In the morning we visited the eating area where they had the usual pastries, biscuits/gravy, a rolled up item they called a breakfast burrito (Meh) along with a variety of juices and coffee. This place is what you pay for. The A/C barely worked on a mild summer evening. Spiders (big ones) were having a hay day on the external hallways. The night shift receptionist was very helpful in finding me parking with a full parking lot while I was dragging a trailer. They have an adjacent gravel lot. The area isn't too bad but I was nervous my stuff would be stolen from my car. The one star rating is ultimately due to the breakfast policy. You cannot carry out breakfast. I walked down early while my 4 kids slept to surprise them with waffles. This wasn't allowed. So instead we walked down and took up half of the small breakfast eating area. I've never stayed at a hotel where you enter from the outside directly into the room. So, I wasn't sure what to expect. But, I was very pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room and how well it was staged. When we arrived the woman at the front desk was patient with us in switching up rooms when we realized we booked smoking instead of non-smoking rooms. I was underwhelmed with the indoor pool. The water was very cold to the point where my wife and 2 year old daughter weren't able to swim. My 6 year old son jumped right in and didn't miss a beat. I have yet to eat the breakfast but I understand it's a good breakfast from the other reviews. I would suggest this for anyone looking for a nice place to stay. The a/c in the room was fairly loud after getting everyone to bed. Mostly a dull background noise but not what I am use to heading out of an a/c unit in hotels. read more

The lady at the front desk was very friendly. We checked in and when asking how to get to our room, we were told to take the stairs. I asked if there was an elevator and the answer was no. This hotel is not ADA friendly. I have an almost impossible time with steps. There were three handicap spots, all occupied and 2/3 had no handicap tags or placards. The room was dated, furniture beaten up. Cracks around bathtub. The pullout sofa mattress was paper thin and covered with numerous stains that looked like blood. One of my companions stepped on something, it turned out to be a discarded piercing ring. The best part was the staff and breakfast. read more

Wow this was my first trip into Ms. into the deep south, it was great! When I got there I asked the ladies in the front if they could do me a favor by printing a special reciept for my boss, and the short, cute manager even gave me a discount! My room was beautiful, nice T.V, nice bathroom, nice bed, furnishings everything. Was a great place to spend the night after such a long drive. Enjoyed our stay at the Best Western in Vicksburg. Pat and Holley at the front to was friendly and very hospitable. Christina welcomed us every morning for breakfast she even fixed the waffles for us. They also have a full breakfast bar with many items to choose from. The rooms were nice and clean with a microwave and refrigerator and we loved that the television was programmed with HD channels as well not just the basic channels. There is also a indoor pool. This is one of the best places to stay in Vicksburg, MS. read more

For the price of this hotel,$90 a night at the time, I expected better. The breakfast was good. They accept pets and the staff was friendly. What I was disappointed with was the cleanliness. The carpet left our feet almost black on the bottom, the mini fridge was dirty, we found someone elses sock in the corner and there was what looked like a cigarette burn on the bed spread in our non smoking room. I had the most enjoyable experience at this hotel. Rooms were excellent, the breakfast was very good, but what I loved most was the staff. Since the flooding in Louisiana, we weren't able to obtain a rental vehicle. The House Keeping Manager, gladly drove us to our appointment after breakfast.
