Badly fitting fitted sheet coming off the mattress before I even got into the bed
    Em G.

I'll start with the positive first, the front desk was very polite and helpful. They even recognized my ESA certified dog and was not charged a pet fee. The lobby was very lovely, and I appreciated being on the 5th floor which needs a room key to get to, none of the other floors needed that, which was nice if you're a woman traveling alone. My room was very big and spacious because it was a handicapped room. Ok now the bad. The elevator had moving blankets up because of renovations. My room had white sheets with stains and holes. The fitted sheet had stains and the flat top sheet had the holes. The white bath towels and wash clothes also had stains and a couple of them smelled horrible like throw up. My room didn't feel very clean but luckily I was only there for 1 night while traveling a long distance. I don't know what my room was next to but it sounded like someone running a tub faucet to fill a never ending pool of water. I was on the 5th floor no where near the pool so I have no idea what it was. I could hear it really loud in the bathroom and loud enough once the room was quiet when I was going to sleep. The sound lasted all day and night. For the price I definitely wouldn't stay here again. The room was decorated so ugly and way different from the other photos online and very different from the hotels website and other reviewers photos. My room looked more like a cheap Super 8 or Motel 6 with bright lime and neon colors. So ugly it was awful. It was far too expensive for dirty sheets, stinky towels, and a gross cheap looking continental breakfast. Ps. The mini fridge in the room smelled like mildew and made everything I put in it smell the same. Also the ice in the ice machine on the 5th floor also smelled moldy. Beware.

    Lobby Area

Room was clean and well prepared. Excellent facility with a reception 5-7PM was much appreciated. Staff was fantastic. Tasha did a great job at check in and Twin was fabulous during checkout after running the night shift. Hats off to those two. A couple of hard working and very nice staff.

3.5 stars and a decent hotel. We arrived early, an hour before check-in, and our room wasn't ready. I didn't think a hotel in this city would be busy, but it seemed fully booked the weekend we stayed. We left to eat and checked in later. A gentleman mentioned our room smelled of smoke so he lit a candle in the room. It was much appreciated as I hate cigarette smell. We had a problem with our first set of keys but they resolved it quickly. The room could use some updating and the carpets can use cleaning/ replacing but overall it was fine. I was just glad to get a decent hotel that allows pets at the last minute. The breakfast buffet was standard and okay.

    Bugs on the bed

When we first walked in the lobby smelled like grandma spilt a gallon of her perfume. We got our key and went to the room of horrors. The room was filthy, bugs, blood, used tissues and more bad perfume. Outdated room. Came back down to checkout and a woman having a medical issued barely dressed passed out at the elevator. Doug the clerk was exceptional and the only good about that nightmarish place.

I picked this hotel off of reviews on google and Yelp. I liked what I saw on the outside. Very stately and reminded me of old southern mansions. Inside was very clean and lots of space to sit. If you are a government employee/military/vet ask for your government rate. The lady at the desk was nice and they had rooms available. I was on the 2nd floor with views of the street. Also there is Happy hour from 5-7 with free drinks. Good selection of beer, wine, and a few liquors. I thought everyone was nice and most people were traveling through or came here to do some sightseeing. Bed was comfy. Pillows were not my thing. And I thought it was odd to have the coffee maker behind the bathroom door in a shelving area. I'd rather get coffee downstairs near the desk. I asked for restaurants near by and received a booklet close by. If I was in the area again I'd stay here. Also the air wasn't turned on when I went into the room it was pretty cool already. But I turned my air on and man it got cold quick.

Room looked like somebody through a party and left right before I arrived. The carpet was filthy. Every finish was old and warn. The reason I moved from Marriott properties years ago was because their hotels looked liked this too frequently. I really hope this isn't a sign for Hilton. The staff was very friendly. If I hadn't been weary from travel, I would have left. I was very disappointed. This isn't typical.

These are photos taken from our room and also around the hotel. Thoughtfully Submitted

If I could get less than one star I would! This was the filthiest Hampton Inn we've ever stayed in. We tried to get a refund for our stay, and all they wanted to do was give us points on our Hilton honors. They no longer welcome Hilton honors members as such, and don't give you that $.25 bottle of water when you check in. Your status has to be 40 times to maintain your status for the year. We went from last February to March being silver members, and we have to stay another 10 times to keep maintaining the silver level. We will not be using Hampton Inn. We stayed at four Hampton Inn on our trip in February for our anniversary, four of those Hampton Inn had Issues with heating or cleanliness. Their hundred percent guarantee is not 100% guarantee. They will put points on your Hilton honors card which will not do anything because there's not enough points given to even have a stay. At the very least I would not recommend any of the Hampton Inn in Mississippi. I did wait three weeks before posting these pictures for the GM from the Vicksburg Hampton Inn to call me on the phone. Thoughtfully submitted Deb

Will never stay here again. Room was a disaster. Mold and dirt in multiple places. Outdated is one thing if it's clean but this Hampton Inn is in bad shape.

If I could rate Holiday Inn Express and Suites management in Vicksburg Mississippi with a 0 rating…read moreit would be fitting. Management is a joke. It doesn't matter if you are a regular customer, platinum elite or a gold elite member. I have been trying to contact the General Manager, Ms. Gail Cummings for 6 days with no response or regard to our experience while staying at this hotel. When your customers or members experience an annoyance, trouble or difficulty that disrupts their comfort or plans it warrants at least acknowledgement or a phone call to show concern. On Friday,January 16th I saw an insect on the bed. I swatted it off thinking it was nothing because we had stayed at this hotel before with no incidents. On Saturday morning, January's 17th around 4:00 am we saw a bedbug which we documented it with pictures and videos. If Ms. Cummins wasn't available, there should have been someone in authority to speak with before I departed on Monday the 19th. So, my feelings are it doesn't matter if you are a regular customer, platinum elite or a gold elite member. You are not important to management and you will be treated as such. I don't feel like a platinum elite member so why should I work towards becoming a gold elite member.

It is a hot breakfast but again... standard generic. They do have a waffle maker. They have instant oatmeal without a toppings bar. Neutral note: they don't have ironing boards or irons in the rooms. They haven't figured out where to put them after renovations so you have to check them out at the front. They do have housekeeping everyday. Following a HORRIBLE day of delays and cancellations, the availability at this hotel was the ONLY bright spot to day! Upon arrival, check-in was quick & easy. Asia, the front desk clerk, was soooooo helpful! She had a smile on her face during the entire conversation! I was so tired so once safely in my room, I went straight to bed. When I awoke the next morning, the disturbing revelations began! While getting ready to take a shower, I spotted an odd stain on the ceiling above the bed, a bloody handprint on the back of the bathroom door, a hair on the ceiling above the bathroom sink, mildew in several areas around the shower chair/shower bars/shower heads, an odd stain on the bathroom floor tile, and an awkward stain on one of the 'fresh' towels. While any one of these things may not be too disturbing by itself ---- all of them together is mind-boggling, some even hazardous (bloody hand print!) On the flip side, the hotel was extremely quiet. It was not busy at all. I had parking immediately outside the front door & could see my car from my room window. I was able to park directly beneath a street light. The bed was quite comfortable and the room spacious. The heat/air worked like a charm, as did the water heater!!! I believe this review warrants some further evaluation along with corrective action!
