Check in lady wasn't that friendly and took a call even though I was standing there waiting for service. The room was clean big enough for 5 of us and we all slept comfortably. We got a handicap room which perfect because I have a bad back and knees and my mother in law is in her 60s. The bathroom was equipped with several handle bars for safety especially because the bathroom gets very wet from condensation build up from showering making the ground super slippery. The tub itself is also super slippery so make sure you are aware of that getting into the shower. My daughter slipped and fell while in the shower and I almost took a fall. But besides those things I slept so great especially traveling straight from California with no sleep brakes besides the ride in the car.

The Comfort Suites is a three star hotel, but for Vicksburg, it's a great place to stay and worthy of four stars. After several great experiences, I suspect this will become my go to hotel for the area. Vicksburg is a popular tourist destination, but it still retains that small town charm. As such, there are no fancy hotels. There are several three star properties to choose from and I think the Comfort Suites is among the best. When I was searching for a hotel I had several requirements. I wanted a suite type hotel, free breakfast, and a location convenient to the battlefield. This hotel met those expectations. Check in was smooth and problem free. On my first visit I arrived several hours before the regular 3:00 p.m. check in. I called when I was about 15 minutes away and they were very gracious and accommodating. Despite the hotel being quite full, they had my room clean and ready. The rooms are very nice. The a/c is the floor/window type, but there is an actual thermostat control. Trust me, you can get the room extremely cold. The rooms have a bed, desk with chair, couch, refrigerator, coffee maker, and bathroom with a shower/bath. I was highly impressed with the comfort of the beds here and I slept like a baby. It normally takes me several nights to sleep comfortably in a hotel, but this bed just felt like home to me. This room was perfect for my needs and I highly recommend it. On my second trip there were a few cleanliness issues, but nothing too major. Because the hotel gets a lot of families, expect some noise. I didn't find the walls too thin, but I did hear lots of running and whatnot in the hallways. The free breakfast each morning was not very good, but since it was free, I find it difficult to complain. There was a waffle iron, but it frequently had a line. The eggs were awful and flavorless. The biscuits and gravy were the star of the meal, but even that crock pot full of sausage gravy couldn't save the meal. A funny thing happened on my last trip during breakfast. The fire alarm went off and smoke began pouring out of the kitchen. I initially fought the urge to exclaim "oh lord Jesus it's a fire", but I couldn't resist for long. While I thought I was hilarious, no one else did. I have had several really great stays here. For $109 a night, I highly recommend you check it out.

Huge, clean room with super comfortable beds at a reasonable price. Best value for a hotel room we've found in Vicksburg.

If I could rate Holiday Inn Express and Suites management in Vicksburg Mississippi with a 0 rating…read moreit would be fitting. Management is a joke. It doesn't matter if you are a regular customer, platinum elite or a gold elite member. I have been trying to contact the General Manager, Ms. Gail Cummings for 6 days with no response or regard to our experience while staying at this hotel. When your customers or members experience an annoyance, trouble or difficulty that disrupts their comfort or plans it warrants at least acknowledgement or a phone call to show concern. On Friday,January 16th I saw an insect on the bed. I swatted it off thinking it was nothing because we had stayed at this hotel before with no incidents. On Saturday morning, January's 17th around 4:00 am we saw a bedbug which we documented it with pictures and videos. If Ms. Cummins wasn't available, there should have been someone in authority to speak with before I departed on Monday the 19th. So, my feelings are it doesn't matter if you are a regular customer, platinum elite or a gold elite member. You are not important to management and you will be treated as such. I don't feel like a platinum elite member so why should I work towards becoming a gold elite member.

It is a hot breakfast but again... standard generic. They do have a waffle maker. They have instant oatmeal without a toppings bar. Neutral note: they don't have ironing boards or irons in the rooms. They haven't figured out where to put them after renovations so you have to check them out at the front. They do have housekeeping everyday. The rooms are clean as far as I can tell but again, pretty standard. It's tucked up a hill after a grocery store and right before a car dealership. It's easy to miss on the first time there.

I find the room in very poor repair (see photos) the most shocking was a slab of granite hanging by a prayer right above your feet at the vanity. The hvac was having a time trying to cool because of the heat in the hallway. This was a disappointment after so many years of great stays. On a positive note the complimentary breakfast is always hot and fresh tasting.

Following a HORRIBLE day of delays and cancellations, the availability at this hotel was the ONLY bright spot to day! Upon arrival, check-in was quick & easy. Asia, the front desk clerk, was soooooo helpful! She had a smile on her face during the entire conversation! I was so tired so once safely in my room, I went straight to bed. When I awoke the next morning, the disturbing revelations began! While getting ready to take a shower, I spotted an odd stain on the ceiling above the bed, a bloody handprint on the back of the bathroom door, a hair on the ceiling above the bathroom sink, mildew in several areas around the shower chair/shower bars/shower heads, an odd stain on the bathroom floor tile, and an awkward stain on one of the 'fresh' towels. While any one of these things may not be too disturbing by itself ---- all of them together is mind-boggling, some even hazardous (bloody hand print!) On the flip side, the hotel was extremely quiet. It was not busy at all. I had parking immediately outside the front door & could see my car from my room window. I was able to park directly beneath a street light. The bed was quite comfortable and the room spacious. The heat/air worked like a charm, as did the water heater!!! I believe this review warrants some further evaluation along with corrective action! Given the area of MS, I still feel that Marriott was the best choice of hotels, but THIS is not Marriott quality!
