I enjoy free fruit; vegetables and fresh fish. The service is great and the store is clean.

Best way is a chain store and this has to be the worst one. This one is located on Piney Branch Rd. It's not uncommon to find fruits and veggies rotten. Make sure you at the bottom of any packaged items. I've found mold on my snap peas and garlic. I went today for tomatoes and it was hard to find an actual red one. The prices have gone up almost 75% post Covid. They have always doubled the price for any American products. The precut turkey legs were very gray, so i opted out. The tub of ice cream use to be around $4, it is now $8. The same tub is cheaper at Sam's Club and Costco. Once I was done and went to the line. They FORCE...FORCE YOU TO USE DEBIT. If you have a card that has both debit and credit....they do not know how to change it. I asked for a manager. They said he left and there was no one to talk to. The cashiers do not speak English very well. It was absolutely ridiculous. I forgot why I stopped coming before this visit but now I remember. I won't be back. Lost customer. read more

The store is pretty big anf have a very big produce section as you enter the door. Surprisingly they sell alcohol in the store which mainly consist of beers and wines. They have a decent brands and a lot of people go there just for the alchohol. They have a huge poultry/meat/and seafood section not mentioning the aisles which is full of all kinds of dry food to almost every household items. Over all this is a good place do your shopping but only thing is the check out. One star out because the check out is alwasy horrendous. The check out lines are alwasy closed. You will have to wait a good 20+ minutes just to check out on a normal day, weekends can take you longer and thats why I don't go there unless its very needed. read more

I come here for specialty sausages, meats, smoked fish and shellfish. They also sell beer. Their produce is nice and has many tropical items but it is not less expensive, generally. The personnel are very nice. read more

This store use to be a Safeway many years ago. I come here often when I need international veggies or meats, seafood. They have an array of international and exotic ingredients for African, Jamaican, Asian and Latino cuisine. Clean and bright inside also the Prices are very decent. I never had problems with check out either. read more

This.place.is.awesome. It also merits my first DC-area review. David O. is exactly right -- you can find such a wide variety of products here, it's pretty astonishing. Injera bread, rice noodles, a huge (and confusing) fish counter (with live crabs), "milk candy," panela, dulce de leche, salvadorian creme, and so on. When I moved here, everyone warned me about prices, but Bestway is cheaper than I'd pay in Ohio (or at least the same), and just has way more stuff. And, as you might expect, certain items are cheaper than others -- 9 (good, juicy) limes for a dollar, for example. We picked up a huge saran-wrapped container of ginger for $1.35. Peanut butter, on the other hand, is about the same as you'd pay anywhere. And, I've had experiences with grocery stores where the produce instantly rots when you get it home -- not the case here. You can get standard staples here as well: eggs, milk, flour (from wheat, teff, corn, and probably some other grains I'm forgetting), and so on. They also seem to be one of a very few grocery stores still allowed to sell alcohol in Mo. County, so you don't need to go out of your way to buy that six pack of Yuengling, although you do need to go into the "beer/wine" line to purchase it. There's a 10 dollar credit card minimum, and you need to get anything that would be classified as a personal care item (from shampoo to bar soap to toothpaste) from behind a counter. read more

Bestway is a regular bang for your buck store. It's not an updated store, so it reminds me of a lot of the small 1970-80's supermarket chains. The quality of food is good. And to be candid, if your minimum standard of grocery shopping is Safeway, Giants, and any other large supermarket chain. Then this store will not meet those standards. The majority of shoppers are foreigners. It provides them with affordable; and I mean "affordable" groceries. You can literally spend $200 and be able to feed a family of 10 for 2 weeks. This store provides those that shop here a low cost on food that balances out the DMV's high cost of living. read more

VERY happy that I found this gem of a market. Amazing variety at an amazing price. The produce was soooo impressive- loads and loads of fresh, large and healthy looking fruits and veggies of all kinds. I was so happy to see the variety of peppers that I can't get at places like Whole Foods. Yeah, I'm typically a Whole Foods person because if I'm going to eat fresh, I want it fresh, and trust me Bestway does it. The atmosphere might be a bit, I dunno, scary? intimidating for some people because I will be honest, I was the only white person in the market and the only one speaking english by choice that I could tell... That really doesn't bother me at all, however, if you this kind of stuff does, you may feel uncomfortable. Best way does not really do "frozen foods" and your typical instant meals. Everything is dried, fresh, packaged or sold bulk. If you like to cook I highly recommend this place. I do not know about the meat products though. I only come here to buy ground beef to make dumplings, meatballs etc... This store is typical but I think it's very organized or I've been coming here so much I know where things are. Cashiers speak little to no english so we communicate through common language. On the other hand, I like the guys outside the store that help you with your groceries. I usually tip with whatever cash I have on hand ($1-$3) and they're very grateful with whatever that you give anyways. read more

Good for buying bulk chicken, beef and fish. It's a Latin supermarket put the prices for meat and seafood is phenomenal. Especially for a big cookout or dinner. Much better prices than the grocery store for that. Also good for foods from different countries as well. read more

I am on my way to Whole Foods. But, first, I am going to Bestway to get my peppers, avocados, onions, limes, lemons, oranges and innumerable other fresh vegetables, as well as cheeses for tacos, enchiladas and pupusas. These items are frequently half the price of Whole Foods. They also have Mexican beers and soft drinks that you won't find in the Giant or Safeway. I often have a hard time spending more than $20 at Bestway and always have a hard spending less than $50 at Whole Foods. I am a devoted fan and customer both stores and each has its place. read more

This is just like the Bestway in Mt. Pleasant but with a larger selection of meats and fish. If you've never been, this is a no nonsense Mexican supermarket. Great prices on produce, including staples like peppers, avocados, greens, etc. Overwhelming seafood section with dozens of different whole fresh fish. Full butcher. And a rarity in Maryland supermarkets - a walk in beer fridge and limited wine selection. Compared to the disaster of a Giant and the crazy Safeway, and silly whole foods, this is a real, not too crowded supermarket with all the staples and some great specialty Mexican food. Unfortunately they haven't overcome the lack of good tortillas in Maryland. read more

This place was wonderful. A great variety of fresh produce, including most of the Latino specialty items I was searching for, at very reasonable prices (nopales, Mexican limes, many kinds of fresh peppers). An entire aisle of dried legumes, a wide variety of sauces and condiments, and excellent Salvadoran tortillas hecho a mano locally in Silver Spring. The only thing I was searching for that I missed was freshly-made salsa. In addition to the excellent quality and variety of Latino items, there was a fairly extensive selection of African items, but I'm less familiar with them. The injera (four or so varieties) was tasty though. This isn't quite up to the ubiquitous Mexican supermercados I'm used to from Los Angeles, but it was a very pleasant surprise and will certainly be my regular store for many items. read more

I recently lost my itouch in this store which I found out that through my email named Albert Heng that was sent to me regarding my email address that was in the itouch. As I went back to try to retrieve the itouch and to explain to customer service named David and to retrieve my belonging they had said they had already gave it to someone and it wasn't me that they gave it to. my question is why send me an email saying you've found my belonging and then come by to retrieve it back and ask customer service and then them not knowing about it? they really need to check there employee and also better management for missing and where about from customers belongings. read more

Great prices for the "harder to find" veggies (i.e. Those that are always 3:99+ a pound anywhere else). The employees are friendly which makes up for the fact that the place needs a bit of a face lift. read more

This is the worst international market in the area. The produce is rotten and the employees (including managers) are rude. When I asked if they had fresh produce in the back, the manager waved me away with the back of his hand and said, "It's always the same with you people". One of the employees attempted to take my cart away from me and asked me to leave. All the while, I was as cool as a cucumber, albeit not one of their cucumbers. read more

Do not buy at Bestway in Silver Spring, MD. Their return policy for bad produce is ridiculous and outrageous. As an English speaker and heavy shopper, I spend $200-400 each time I shop. I was satisfied with the store until I needed to return some produce-greens. I am primarily vegetarian except for fish, so I eat a lot of vegetables. The greens were full of insect holes and all the inside leaves were yellow. They were inedible. I called the store Friday after opening the bag to cook for dinner that evening for return or credit. I had made the purchase Wednesday- a $97.00 tab that included nearly $50.00 in produce. I was told produce had to be returned within 6 hours of purchase. I could not believe this. Who has the time or energy to inspect all your produce immediately after shopping? Normally, you put your groceries away unless there is something obviously wrong with them, I never heard of this 6 hour rule. It took me 1/2 hour to check out, 2 hours to get home, 1/2 hour to put groceries away and get settled in, 1 hour to cook, eat, clean up. I got ready for bed and did not think that I needed to check my groceries and go back to the store. This is crazy. The store manager refused to return my money and I had to discard the vegetables and lost $5.00. If the store considers my good will is not worth $5.00, I surely cannot afford to lose money. I normally buy organic vegetables, but when I saw that the vegetables had grit , soil, and some imperfectons on them, I assumed they were processed minimally and since the price was very good, I was persuaded to purchase them since they were not part of the dirty dozen that you should buy organic. I will not make that mistake again and since I have never had any problem returning any thing at the other stores. I am finished with Bestway. read more
