I basically bought what I love and I was so glad the birthday boy really loved the items from Fortnum & Mason too. It is hard to know anyone who would appreciate something or anything from F&M as much as I do. I just thought it was a personal preference...apparently it's more than that...its about what you're cooking...but that's what's great about this store is that the folks here will explain all of this stuff to you without any pretentious snobbiness or judgement. In fact many years ago I bought my first big girl chef's knife here after I spent 20 minutes with a very nice sales person. (I previously had been using a $8 knife that I thought I bought from a street vendor.)
