Oh what do I say about EYD and Erin…read more... Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE beer. I also love yoga. So when I'm able to combine the two, well, it's pretty awesome for me. I had followed EYD's Facebook page for a while, but was never able to make it to a class. Finally the stars aligned (all 5 of them) and I took my very 1st EYD class at Fair Winds. Not to lay on the puns, but I was hooked (line and sinker). Since then I've been to Erin's classes at Sehkraft (RIP), Mister Days, Tysons Biergarten (RIP?), Courthaus Social, New District, and even DC Brau when she covered for another teacher. Erin's classes are truly all level. Some instructors will say they are, but then never give you variations on certain positions or chide you for sticking to your particular practice. Erin is not one of those teachers. She has this innate ability to make you feel comfortable and welcome. But my favorite thing about her classes is the cheese factor. She makes jokes and silly comments...example at the Spookasana class (that's Halloween themed yoga) the position known as "cat/cow" became "Screeching cat/Howling werewolf". IT IS ok not to take yourself too seriously sometimes. I personally believe that true balance is equal parts focus and cheese. I recommend EYD's classes to everyone. I would highly suggest Eat Yoga Drink events for those who are new to the DC Metro. It is an amazing way to do something that is good for your mind, body, and soul while having just enough fun!
