We booked a Sunset Sail, which is a 1.5 hour trip around the bay, and we were glad to be joined by 2 other couples and 1 other pup! (If you're counting, that makes 8 humans and 3 dogs aboard!) You can also book a private trip, which is slightly more expensive of course. Captain Ro and Kaled were a great team and made us feel safe, comfortable, and welcomed. It was a beautiful day to sail (week before Labor Day weekend) and Captain Ro allowed us to climb onto the deck once we killed the engine and were out in the bay. These trips do not guarantee animal sightings but we did see a whole group of seals bobbing their heads out of the water watching us as we sailed on by, which was extremely endearing to see. FYI the crew provides life vests for the pups and you can bring whatever you want to eat/drink aboard to enjoy.

Decided to take a last minute vacay and meet NY friends at Provicentown for the weekend. Charming…read moretown with great bars and nightlife, but limited options for activities during the daytime. Someone told us about this super cool couple from Key West that owned a catamaran and were docked in Ptown for the summer, and offered sunset charters for small groups. Our group of three booked a sunset sailing tour and it was the perfect Ptown experience. We brought in our own wine, and they provided snacks, let us play our own music and gave us our own cabin to store our belongings. The boat was huge, had paddle boats and kayaks. And an inflatable island with seats and cup holders! Lindsay and Tadd were truly incredible, fun and super accommodating hosts. They made the whole experience super laid back and pressure free - just what we needed. Highly, highly, highly recommend!

Prices are ridiculously affordable, and we brought the corgi in the kayak! When I asked if the dog was ok, they told me of course and they had dog life jackets! We didn't end up catching anything ourselves (just a bit of bad luck), though we were over big schools of fish and saw several people nearby land some great catches. I even had one on the line that spit the hook as I was reeling in, nothing you can do about that. Catching or not, it was a gorgeous day cruising past the tip of Cape Cod, spotting seals and other marine life, and enjoying the salt air. The whole experience was relaxed, well-run, and a lot of fun. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Provincetown -- and hopefully we'll have better luck with the bites next time.
