We had an amazing time with Art's Dune Tours in Provincetown, MA! Our tour guide, Todd, was fantastic--so friendly, sweet, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made the hour-long day tour not just informative but also a lot of fun. Todd's warm personality and great company made the experience worthwhile. One great perk is that you can buy liquor at the storefront and bring it along on the tour. There's a short 10-minute stop where you can take in some stunning views of the dunes, snap lots of photos, and enjoy your drink (quickly--the ten minutes fly by!). If you're in Provincetown, this tour is a must-do, and if you're lucky enough to have Todd as your guide, you're in for a treat! Highly recommend!

We booked a Bronco tour with Blaze and had an amazing time. Blaze had so much info to share about the history of the dunes--we felt like we got so much more than just a ride. It was a true experience.

We had a fantastic dune tour with Johannes. The anecdotes he shared throughout our trip made his enthusiasm contagious. By the time we stopped to watch the sunset, it felt like our group of 5 was now 6 friends. Booking the trip in early spring before the office was open was easy. And the crew at the office when we arrived was friendly and helpful. Do it!!

Our family travels to the Cape at least once a year & all agree that checking out PTown & its surrounds is a must. This year we splurged for the 2nd time (within 8 years) on Art's Dune Tours & loved our upgraded 2nd trip much better than the first. With this upgraded ''supper included" trip customers may choose from different meal packages & then at the end of the tour get to enjoy the beach at sunset. Selections can be as pared down as a sandwich or uplifted to a 1st class experience of having a lobster bake on the beach with a campfire. Of course price rises with the level of experience you choose. But whatever package you choose, this finale at the beach is the tour's pièce de résistance. 4 wheel drive capability to get out to this end of the Cape is advised & the national seashore requires permits to camp or drive on the beach to limit human traffic. The tour vehicle has on board comfortable directors chairs for your use once arriving at the beach & the driver sets them up before supper is served. If your group is lucky you may have the good fortune to get a visit from a curious seal as we did. Vehicle was a big Chevy Suburban that accommodated our group of 5 comfortably. Our driver, a PTown resident for many decades, was informative & engaging. Tour drivers provide both historical & regional flora & fauna insight during the drive which we found to be very enlightening. If considering a sunset tour, Dress accordingly as the beach was windy & chilly at the end of August.

We decided to take our lunch out to the dunes via Art's Dune Tours. Four of us with a knowledgeable and friendly driver/guide. We learned about history, weather, and climate changes that affected P-Town and its surrounding area. The ride through the dunes was nice and long, educational and fun. We got to meet new people, see seals up close and watched a GORGEOUS sunset.

We spent the weekend on the lower Cape staying in Truro and ate in two nice restaurants but the high light of the weekend was THE DUNE tour!! Arts Dune Tours is a must do when in Provincetown ! Pricing was fair and the trip super informative. I'ld love to learn more about the Dune Shacks ! Driver was very knowledgeable and we left a generous tip of $25 per person with us. We met the owner Rob as we returned. Great local business and we will be back for sure ... maybe the sunset tour !! Thanks Brian C Dennis

I've lived in New England my entire life and am always amazed at the gems right under my nose. I visited Provincetown with a friend who suggested this tour she had taken before. Our guide was Sean and he was fantastic. The tour was fun, he was very informative and he showed us some beautiful locations. It was well worth the money and time. If you're in this area, don't miss this one.

Rob took us on a beautiful and fascinating tour of the dunes. So much history out here at the end of the Cape - the shacks and their famous inhabitants, the forest slowly growing back and so much life out there in the sand. Thanks for the guided tour!

Our experience couldn't have been better. The check-in staff was friendly and warm; we toured with Melissa, who was upbeat and knowledgeable; the car was clean and comfortable. We almost cancelled our tour because we weren't sure it was worth it, and getting to see the dunes and dune shacks up close was absolutely worth it.

I've been taking these tours over the years and I always appreciate them whether alone, with my sons, or with friends. A very helpful, courteous, warm, and helpful team shares the views of the dunes, their stories and history. Sometimes the tour guide was a little hard to hear from the back seats. The views are amazing, the sunset tours have always ended spectacularly. I should have asked if they had a copy of the book, the mayflower?, which was referenced by our tour guide. Every tour guide has offered us helpful hints, suggestions and knowledge nuggets I enjoy. Rob runs a great business with his team.

We loved our sunset dune tour -- our guide was knowledgeable, kind, and funny -- the tour was informative and thought provoking. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Provincetown!

Ask the Community - Art's Dune Tours

Would this tour be fun for a 5 and 8 year old?

At least from my experience, I'd say its more appropriate for 12+. Its very educational and the views are incredible, but once you're parked on the beach you're there for awhile (at least with the sunset tour) so it wouldn't be good if they got… Read more

There's a lot of interesting and good information, and I liked the people. But.... The first half of the tour is in an old mini bus. The bus has tiny windows, like 4" square, and no air circulation. No fans. No air conditioning. Today was nearly 90 out by 10 am, when our tour started, and temperatures inside the bus got so hot that stepping out felt cool! You don't travel far, and then they stop for 10 minutes to talk about what's out the window. It's brutal. Ironically, the travel distances are so slim most people could walk it. But, just sitting on the bus in the heat? Yuck. The second half is in an old shed where you learn about harvesting. Again, it could be interesting, but it's a good 10° hotter, even with the fans going, and it makes it hard to focus. Or even listen. Better weather would have helped. But, we had an old lady in our tour group nearly pass out, and the guide indicated that that was not uncommon. Heck, complimentary water would be nice. Waters are a dollar. The tour is fifteen. It's all cash only.
