I was an ARNG member and serviced 8 years half active and half weekend warrior. I had a lot of…read moredoubts about this program to start. While I was unemployed. Initially, I thought the cost was a little above expectation for indirect resources for claim submissions. The materials seemed to miss the mark at first (only because I was trying to find the quick win/shortcut). I was also skeptical because of the Army's "Don't complain or get sick " drilled into soldiers because it makes you look weak. Also, I felt like my claims just weren't as grand or important as others I've seen serve. However, most people have a bad understanding of what the VA defines as a "disability". The thing about this program is you have to put in the work. This is not something where you fill out your information and watch one video and they simply give you the answers to submit your claim. Just like an online course, you need to review the resources, learn how things work, and use the templates they give you to outline where you feel your service-connected events need to be documented and submitted as a claim. I went only expected at most 40% status through all my claims and this program. 6 months after finishing the program, I'm now at 80% and still have some opportunities since I was denied for a few items that I truly believe just need better documentation as service-connected. If you are not looking to put in the time and effect it takes to do the work & homework for at least the first 60 days, then this program is not for you OR you should make sure you have the support of a friend or family member to get you through it. As stated in the training "Stay in the fight" "Get what you deserve". The guarantee is that if you follow the resources based on 20+ years of experience and aren't looking for a shortcut to a payout. You get some approved claims if truely service-connected. My one piece of advice might be to have a subscription service model or something where we can pay extra to have blocks of time with 1:1 sessions with an expert or someone who has gone through the process. This will help with motivation and clarifying questions that some may not feel good about asking in a group setting but like to hear a voice vs. reading a page or watching a video.

I was struggling with a lot - traumatic scoliosis on the physical side, depression and anxiety on the mental side - just to name a few. The VA system seemed overwhelming (as most things did at that time) and I signed up thinking "may as well try" and not expecting a whole lot. But that's where it turned around, a complete 180. Ranger Johnson, Gino, the whole team - they've not only been there and through the process themselves, they've been doing it with a very standard system that is actually proven, and doesn't cost you a year+ of your benefits! I paid the one-time fee, had skin in the game, and jumped into the curriculum soaking up as much as I could. Plus he still has time to speak to me personally?? The curriculum was outstanding, the attention to detail was there, and I walked away prepared. I submitted all my paperwork, followed his guidance in the C&P exams, and after 16 appointments and about 6-7 months later, I went from not in the VA system at all to 100%. They talked sense into me, about what I deserve vs what I as a typical veteran thought I deserved (which was nothing) and now I am better suited to help my own veteran brothers and others around me. Most importantly? The VA is seeing me and treating me for my back, mind, etc. and I don't feel ashamed about it. Thank you guys for giving me my life back!

The Language Island has been a big help to me. I have always wanted to improve my Spanish since my…read moregirlfriend is Hispanic and since it is the second most spoken language in the world. I found this school online and I contacted the director to know more about the services they provided. Since the first conversation we had on the phone, he was very friendly and helpful. He never seemed to promise me anything fake to market himself or the school, and I never felt pushed to "close the deal". He asked me a bunch of questions regarding when, where, and the time of the day I wanted to study and he ended up making sure I got all my preferences. On my first day of classes everyone I met at the school was smiling and the staff already knew my name, which made me feel extremely welcome. My teacher was always very knowledgeable and she clearly had lots of experience teaching. The classes felt "easy to follow" and I thought they were productive. Lastly, the school location was convenient and the prices were fair. Overall, I would say I had a great experience as a student at The Language Island!

From the owner: The Language Island began with a simple mission: Provide students with the best language-learning…read moreexperience possible. This mission has guided us as we have expanded from humble beginnings to become the premiere language-tutoring service in the Metro Atlanta area. Language Island instructors are an elite group of highly-educated and experienced teachers and tutors who are truly passionate about their students. Unlike tutoring centers that take a one-size-fits-all approach to language instruction, The Language Island recognizes that every student is unique. Teachers assess each student on a case-by-case basis and develop a curriculum that is custom-tailored to his or her individual needs. We provide a variety of class options designed to accommodate students of all ages and backgrounds. These include small group and one-on-one classes on our campus near Cumberland Mall, as well as private, in-home tutoring all over the city. Our tutors recognize that students have many commitments outside The Language Island. They work with students to develop class schedules that fit around their busy lives.

Our experience with Quad Academy has been nothing short of a nightmare. In May 2023, we provided…read morethe school with a proper written notice that our child's last day would be June 30, 2023, which is well within the required 30-day notice per their handbook. We paid the full tuition for June, but shortly after, I had to remove my child due to safety concerns. The owner agreed to a courtesy credit of $1,023.75, which was refunded to our card. However, on July 6, 2023, they made an unauthorized charge of $1,417.50 to my account despite our clear notice. When we tried to resolve this issue with the owner, she avoided our calls and emails by blocking us, leaving us with no way to communicate. Even when we attempted to contact the school directly, the administrative staff repeatedly said, "Can we take a message?" but no one ever returned our calls or emails. This left us with no choice but to move forward with serving legal papers. It's clear that the owner is trying to keep the courtesy credit of $1,023.75 by offering a partial refund of $393.75, which is far below the total unauthorized charge of $1,417.50. Despite several attempts to resolve this amicably, the school refuses to return the full amount or even communicate honestly. Additionally, the level of professionalism at this school is appalling. We received emails from the school that were sent to multiple parents in copied emails, discussing other children's behavioral issues. This breach of privacy was disturbing and unprofessional. Our child, who has always been a top scholar with high marks in Georgia, began to feel bullied and picked on by the teachers. She never experienced issues in her other academies. She repeatedly complained to us about the treatment she was receiving from the staff, which made her time at Quad Academy even more difficult. Since our experience, we've spoken with several other parents who shared similar concerns about being mistreated by the staff and having issues with the school's unprofessional conduct. It seems these problems are not isolated, and many parents have felt unsupported and dismissed by the administration. While this all took place in 2023, I am only now leaving this review because we have been unable to resolve this matter despite multiple attempts. It has taken this long due to the lack of response from the school and the need to take legal action to get the situation properly addressed. We have written proof in emails that support everything stated here, including the courtesy credit agreement, the unauthorized charge, and our attempts to resolve the issue. If you are considering enrolling your child here, I would advise you to think twice. The school's unethical behavior and unprofessional conduct are concerning, and we are now pursuing legal action. The owner's avoidance of responsibility speaks volumes about the lack of integrity this school operates with. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience, and I strongly urge others to proceed with caution.

My teacher (Alejandro Pelaez) was very detailed in his explanations and gave us plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. I then moved on to the one on one tutoring which helped me understand the complexities of the language. I still have a long way to go until fluency but The Latin American Association really laid a great framework for me to learn Spanish. The programs were great and all the staff was very helpful. The prices for 1 on 1 tutoring were a little too much for the average worker in my opinion thats why i gave 4 instead of 5 stars. If they decrease the price i know they will quickly obtain more students. Overall i loved my experience and will take another 1 on 1 tutoring in the near future. *** PS: for anyone trying to learn a language there is no one program or class that will get you to fluency. I was successful in my classes because i immersed myself in the language as much as possible outside of class (apps, spanish radio/tv everyday, etc.) The Latin American Association helped bring it all together and was a valuable resource in learning the grammatical ways of the language. As long as you are dedicated to language learning you will learn as quickly and as much as you want !!!
