Excellent regulations and road training - our road instructor Carlos gave our daughter lots of good safety tips, plus just a real nice, approachable personality. My daughter passed the written exam and road test the fist time - even parallel parking! Plus, Nathan's Driving School goes above and beyond for students' families. Our family is now relocating out of state, and in order to transfer her license, my daughter needs to show proof of having completed driver training in several specific areas. So, a year after she finished her training, we recontacted Nathan's to request a confirmation letter. Nathan himself called me to confirm a few details, and then wrote and delivered a driver training confirmation letter within 24 hours! Helpful, friendly, customer-service oriented, easy and flexible to work with - and they recognize you and help you if you call back a year later. Nathans partnered with my daughter's school and offered a drivers ed course on half days. With little notice, Nathans told the kids and parents that there was a mandatory 2 full day course that needed to be completed. Parents moved schedules around and now - 1 day before the course was to start, Nathans has canceled the course (due to alleged "low enrollment") and stated new weekend days that would be required. Nathans never asked who was attending and at least 10 families have indicated they had every intention of attending the course. Scheduling, and communication related to that, has been a disaster. There is no way possible that a business professional is running this company. read more

My daughter attended Nathans. From the classes there, it's unclear that the instructors know how to drive. The teachers lost control of the class every class. At the end of the class, she could never pass the test and had to retake. There were not enough driving instructors to ever schedule them in person. Institutions like this are the clear argument for repealing the requirement for driving instruction before obtaining a license. That law breeds scam and fraudulence. Nathans is an outgrowth of that and a foreseeable consequence. Let me save you 32 hours + of your life. read more

I am very disappointed with this driving school. Before the pandemic we paid $500 plus road test fee for our son to drive. They didn't finish the hours we were owed or the road test. Then I spoke over the phone with someone at their office to make sure we had a credit for the 1 remaining hour and the road test. They verified they would honor this. Then they closed for the pandemic. Now they don't know who we are and they have a ridiculous and insane $50 pick up charge to pick up the student. This is in addition to the $520 fee for lessons. $50 per pick up!!! They are not the same company as before the pandemic and they don't deserve to have any business until they fix what is broken. read more

Impossible to book the in person lessons even if you have bought a package and paid upfront. Currently in August and they are all booked for September but I can't book October until a set day in September. They often don't answer the phone and by lunch time that day the whole month will be booked then you wait another month to try again. Staff on the phone couldn't care less if they tried and there simply aren't enough instructors for the money they take up front. Its going to take months to get the lessons and test done at this rate. If you have a young learner who needs weekends or evening give them a miss! read more

The driving instructors have been very helpful during each of our child's lessons -- providing our child with key skills and confidence. Due to our child's schedule, we used several different instructors. Each instructor was kind and supportive throughout the process. The office staff has also been very informative and responsive. Very expensive. They make it incredibly hard to reschedule and charge $120 to do so if you are within 72 hours of appt. They only answer the phone (if you're lucky) between 9-3. My friends warned me and I decided to try them anyway. Look elsewhere. read more

This place is a racket. The only reason they are still in business is that the state of Georgia requires classes for teens to get a license. The class was a JOKE. The teacher was not prepared and knew nothing. She literally just googled videos she herself had never seen before and showed them to the class--videos from other states. For the last the class, the students spent an entire day (8-9 hours) coloring posters. So... the class is only three days, and one day was spent coloring. No one answers the phone there or returns calls. read more

I had to come here a leave a review due to the wonderful service I received. I was skeptical at first after reading the reviews but thought to give it a try since the school was conveniently located near my house. let me start by saying the office staff was great, not sure of the past reviews maybe there was a change somewhere but everyone seemed friendly and helpful. Due to covid, scheduling my daughter was a bit scarce but they made it work for me and my daughter was able to get her license on time. So thanks to each and every one of you. Now My 5 Stars goes out to my daughter Instructor Ms.Z (Zaneta) Zaneta was very friendly, bubbly and to my surprise absolutely amazing from  the start of her lesson until completion. Zaneta is what I consider not just an instructor but a role model we need for Youth in general. She was very Patient, understanding and very thorough with feedback and tips which helped me practice with my daughter in our car and very inspirational. My daughter shared some trouble she was having at school with bullies and Zaneta gave her good advice on how to deal with it. I was greeted with a smile, she was very personable she wanted to know if we had any special accommodations, needs or worry about our daughters driving which caught me by surprise ?? I was thinking to just hand my daughter off and they do their job... Zaneta took notes of our concern's and addressed them with feedback and updates. My daughter has really bad anxiety and lacked confidence in driving but after driving with Ms. Zaneta she gained so much confidence now she thinks she can take my car and go places lol.... She can now parallel Park, Park at grocery stores, switch lanes etc..... My daughter was well equipped for her test. My daughter mentioned she was very creative, she took her on an adventure every lesson such as  to her favorite mall, friends house or school and acknowledged when she was doing good and provided tips along the way. Also stopped at Quik Trip our favorite travel stop for a break. Thanks to Nathan's Staff for all of your accommodations and such an wonderful Instructor,  I will be returning when my son is of age. read more

Not good. The instructor did not make me feel comfortable at all as I was learning to get comfortable with highway driving. In addition he couldn't find my house at all and needed to play phone tag for a 15 minutes. On top of that, the car was so dirty and disgusting I wouldn't recommend them at all. Adam read more

This is our second time using Nathan's. Again, they went out of their way to accommodate my daughter, and they gave her the best experience with the class, driving lessons, and her driving test. The absolute worst! Do not waste your time or money! My wife and I can't believe any high school (ours included) would recommend this place. The customer service is horrible, scheduling is difficult and the instructors are sub par. Still, we thought it would be worth it for the convenience of Nathan's administering the road test rather than the DMV. Boy, were we wrong. Just when we thought Nathan's couldn't get any worse, they assigned an older guy named Bob to administer her road test. He was incredibly intimidating and not at all what our other 2 children experienced with their friendly examiners at the DMV. Worse, after the test, he insisted we sit down with him "to get the results" at which time he spent the next 20 minutes berating her driving skills, asking her obvious/rhetorical questions, and complaining about safety technology in new cars such as blind spot monitoring. He said she should never rely on it asking her angrily...."has your phone ever broken? ...has your radio?" and rambled about how "safety technology is designed only for car companies to make more money" and would never pay extra for it. All the while she was choking back tears, and trying to politely answer his dumb questions. When it became obvious he wasn't going to pass her, I interrupted him to say we were leaving. Shocked, he asked "don't you want to hear what else I have to say?" Not a chance! Thanks to Nathan's (and Bob), an exciting and much anticipated day turned very dark for my sweet daughter. She sobbed the whole way home, and has zero interest in driving or getting her license (despite being an excellent driver). Her confidence is completely shattered and she feels humiliated and demoralized. Thanks, Nathans. read more

Nathan's Driving really delivers superb service! if you're a beginner or just want to brush up on your driving, I would definitely give this school a shot. Coming from NYC, I didn't find the need to drive. However, that all changed when I moved to Atlanta. With no car, I felt the urge to get back to driving again. Believe me, I am not a confident driver. Scared would be a good word. However, after meeting my driving instructor, Bob W., I knew I was in good hands. Bob really listens to his students and he's freakin patient and very cool. I took 6 hours with Bob and I feel pretty good. He's a fantastic teacher and I highly recommend him!!! He hails from NY too which made my lessons and conversations so much easier. I am planning on using Nathan's for my road test too and I can say I feel more confident than ever in my driving skills! Woohoo... Price-wise, I would say Nathan's is pretty comparable to other driving schools in the neighborhood. Students can choose their hours and they offer classroom training as well. During my lessons, I had pick-up and drop-off service which were very convenient. Again, I am so happy I went with Nathan's. Great service. If you can, ask for Bob W. read more

Nathan's Driving School is the best! I remember back in the day when I couldn't wait to get ahold of my driver's license, the thought of having to go through driver's education classes wasn't the most appealing or exciting prospect. I looked at it as one of those "necessary evils". The other day I ran into Nathan and we must have talked for over an hour about how things have been in his life and about his school. While talking with him I looked up his business on Yelp and found that he didn't have a single review. Given that most of his clients are teenagers, I couldn't believe it. But it doesn't seem like driving schools in general get too many reviews. It's been a while since I went through my lessons, but I can tell you that Nathan's Driving School was a fantastic experience. I'm a little older now (ok, a lot older now....) and I can value and appreciate my experience there. Nathan's is the best in the business, so you are paying for QUALITY and INTEGRITY. Whenever some blockhead pulls out in front of me or pulls into the second lane (my lane) on a turn without looking, I'm glad for two things....1) that I was taught to be alert enough to be ready for such things and 2) glad that 25 years worth of Nathan's students have helped make the roads a little safer. I am highly disappointed in the lack of service we have received from Nathan's over the last month. We have made a simple request to receive a certificate of completion showing that my daughter completed their course. She cannot receive her license without this certificate. We have been told 4+ times over a month's time that they were emailing the certificate to us. This week they have stopped answering their phones or returning email requests. Amanda was so nice and very professional she took the time to explain everything to me. She answered all my questions and helped me understand the process and benefits of sending my child to a driving school, instead of just allowing him to take the online course. The next day I had one more questions about what precautions the instructors were taking while giving the driving lessons I spoke with a Melissa, Michelle, or Marisa I do not remember exactly. HORRIBLE experience she was very unprofessional, and rude. She made me feel like my question was ridiculous and I was bothering her. She must hate her job. Complete opposite of my experience the day before. I asked to speak with Amanda but I was told there was no point, that I was speaking to the manager. We did the 30 hour online course and 10 hours of 1/1 driving, and finally the driving test. I think the 30 hours and driving lessons were fine when we could get them scheduled. The first issue was that they were low on instructors and testers, which delayed us getting this process done and my son was ready to get his license. This was very frustrating to learn AFTER we paid. Then, the horrible experience with the drivers test. My son passed the first time, so this is not sour grapes. Instead of celebrating that he passed, he was very upset when he came home. Some of the things the lady administering the test said were not just unprofessional, but can undermine the confidence of a new driver. There is a right way to give feedback and a wrong way - this lady does not understand how to do this. I do not recommend them to my friends who have asked, and will go somewhere else for our younger child. read more

I enrolled in the Defensive Driving Class to knock some points off my license. Unsure of the actual process for getting point reduction, I still registered, figuring that $75 would be worth the refresher on driver safety and general guidelines for Georgia Traffic laws. Overall, I will say that Nathan's provides exactly what I signed up for: a class on defensive driving. Was the classroom environment conducive to learning and enjoyment? Absolutely not. Before I get to the negatives, I will say that the instructor knew what he was teaching and is very serious about increasing driver safety. I did learn some new information, and "Santa Bob" helped me to find out the procedure for getting points reduced from my license. This is not a review of the actual educational component of the class, since it is basically failure-proof and the info was presented as interestingly as it could be. I would be able to give a great review based on this alone, but the unpleasant classroom atmosphere makes suggesting Nathan's to anyone impossible for me. My boyfriend and I arrived early for class, and we were greeted by "Santa Bob", who immediately guessed who we were and said we "looked like Midtowners". This should have been the first indication that "Santa Bob" specializes in vast generalizations and assumptions that can be off-putting at best, and offensive at worst. As an adult educator, I was very upset by some of the insensitivity that was used in our class. A few highlights: 1.) "Santa Bob" assumed for several hours that my boyfriend and I were siblings, because we share the same address. The result was a very uncomfortable conversation in the middle of class. 2.) I was asked multiple times when my court date was, because he assumed that I was either in a diversion program or fighting a big offense, when I was actually just trying to be proactive about some nearly two-year-old offenses I got while visiting Georgia. 3.) The words "Chinese water torture" and "Kamikaze" were used, and we had two non-English speaking Asian men in the class. Complete slips of the tongue, but a wee bit insensitive. 4.) Numerous rambling digressions about how much "Santa Bob" hates technology, cannot understand how young people use it and does not want to have anything to do with it. [This something that I, as a teacher in the tech field, could very much help "Santa Bob" understand without diminishing his generation.] 5.) Several asides about how much Millennials and young people are terrible, even though the class was entirely made up of young people. 6.) "Santa Bob" requires every student review of him, and makes you turn it into him directly. He will not give you your certificate without seeing that you have filled out an evaluation. He held us all in class while he left the room, read the critiques and told us to use our "internet phones" to write an online review. When he returned, he asked us to tell him how he did, calling out the people who gave negative reviews specifically. We were held an additional 20 minutes in the freezing classroom while "Santa Bob" exacted his revenge. 7.) I really don't like calling someone "Santa Bob" instead of their actual name. That's just a personal preference. tl;dr - I learned a lot about safe driving, but I also felt like I was being held captive by a Santa lookalike who is in need of some sensitivity training. Edit - After my poor review, Nathan's general manger reached out to me a few times via phone, but every time was during my commute and I didn't pick up due to the risk of distracted driving. I didn't follow up with them because I forgot and because I'm a coward who can only argue on the internet. I eventually received a letter, gas card and a handwritten apology letter from Santa Bob. The apology was a nice gesture and the gas card helped remove the sting of $75 and a Saturday in a cold prison, but I never received my certificate (partially because of my poor follow up and partially because they seem to not use the email on their website). According to the letter, Santa Bob no longer teaches defensive driving. My experience, overall, still remains mixed. I hope that they continue to focus on providing quality instructors, and that they provide quality customer service to all students, not just those of us who complain loudly online. read more

Nathan's Driving School has partnered with my teens' school for years with great success offering pick-up from the school or directly from our home. Not only did they get in-school training as part of an elective but we were able to select on the road training as well as the test once that was done. There is no way I was going to have our kids take to the wheel with me without the in-car training by Nathan's team!! The thought of having our 13 year old Honda that is running like a champ in a wreak (which would mean the insurance company would total it no matter how small the damage) leaves me very nervous but Nathan's did a great job of removing that fear. I am a middle-aged long time New Yorker, now in Atlanta and never had a license until yesterday. I had taken driving lessons at another school a few years ago but did not follow through with a road test. When I started at Nathan's about 6 months ago I basically was starting over. I had three instructors who all were excellent in their own way, including "Santa Bob" who was referenced in other reviews. Top notch, just like the other two instructors. No pun intended, everyone there, including Nathan, went the extra mile in every way. My instructor came with me to my road test and her assistance on road test day was invaluable. I plan to return to the school should I need further instruction and plan to refer the school to anyone who needs driving instruction. I was referred to Nathan's by my husband's colleague -who is very particular about who works with his children - and it is obvious why and it was obvious from the first lesson. So much of my confidence in driving is because of this school. read more
